I was a driver/pizza maker for Town Pizza in Wyoming, RI for a brief period of time. I'm a recently retired person in the "delivery" business and I thought, "what a great job this would be in my retirement years... delivering pizza's, plus tips!" For a few months it was great, but then circumstances in my personal life changed and I am once again just a loyal and dedicated customer. The reason I am posting this review is because I have an insiders view of what really goes on behind the scenes at one of the most popular restaurants in Wyoming Rhode Island. I was very impressed to see that Town Pizza uses only fresh and high quality ingredients, prepared daily in a clean and professional kitchen, staffed by a well trained and capable crew. But, to the customer, it's always about the food. And, for someone in the know, I hear what the customers have to say and I hear 90% + approval ratings of the food I delivered. The only occasional complaints I heard were more about me, the delivery guy, for forgetting the salad dressings or the marinara sauce on an order. My bad, but I never heard a negative comment from my customers about the quality of the food. Town Pizza has the best Pizza, Calzones, Subs and Fresh Seafood in our neck of the woods. After our experience tonight, we will never be back. Our server Kerri ruined our appetites. Standing in the corner talking about a customer who had just left. Referring to her in the most inappropriate names and how she would love to beat her up. Completely ignoring us in the process. As a restaurant owner in the same community I would never approve of my staff acting this unprofessional . And you as a business owner should really do the same. You have no idea if anyone eating at that time knows the customer she was talking about and now u have lost my business; there business, the customer she was talking abouts business and anyone else they might know. Can't say enough about this much more than a pizza restaurant. My wife and I stopped by for an early dinner. Had a special pizza that was fabulous, with a crispy crust and loaded with fresh toppings. I ordered delivery again, and was quoted 45 minutes. My pizzas arrived in 30 minutes. That was fast. And I ordered 4 pizzas. And they were all definitely fresh-made and still hot when they arrived. Oh, also, why 4 pizzas? Let's math. The other pizza place did 18" pizzas, that's about 255 sq in of pizza. Minus the edge crust...about 201 sq in of pizza with sauce and toppings touching it. Charlestown Famous does 14" pizzas, so that's about 154 sq in of pizza. Minus the edge crust...about 113 sq in of pizza with sauce and toppings touching it. So factoring out the edge of the pizza, I get about the same amount of pizza from four 14" pizzas as I do with two 18" pizzas. Aaaaaaaanyway, crust styles are pretty similar, in that they both seem like hand-tossed, but Charlestown Famous's pizza seems like it probably uses less oil in the dough. The dough is leavened pretty well, so the crust has a pretty soft texture. The four pizzas I got were Chris Special, Hawaiian, Meat Lovers, and Moussaka. If you like Supreme/Combo/whatever-you-want-to-call-it types of pizza, Chris Special is for you. And normally, I love pizzas with all the toppings. But for me, I felt like the wide topping selection here overpowered the taste of the sauce and the crust. Also, the veggies let out a lot of water. If you order this and any other pizza, make sure you eat this one first; otherwise, the crust will get soggy. It's still pretty good, but I liked the other ones I ordered more. The Hawaiian was pretty good. I think it came with extra cheese. Not sure. Don't quote me. This was a great one. The acidity from the pineapple has that cleansing effect with greasy foods the same way that wines do. This made eating through the entire pizza a breeze. You just didn't want to stop. Also, for those who are thinking stupid thoughts because pineapple on pizza... how about you keep it to yourself? And in return, I won't go holier-than-thou on you by preaching about how avocado doesn't belong in sushi, oat juice doesn't belong in coffee, and beef doesn't belong in an Indian curry? K? We good? The Meat Lovers was...well, good. I don't know what there is to say about a meat lovers pizza. Meat lovers pizzas are always pretty good, unless a place uses substandard toppings. Otherwise, this is basically like an upgraded pepperoni pizza. The Moussaka...I was reminded why I always seem to order this pizza when I order from this place. Now, personally, I love eggplant as a pizza topping, and the eggplant tends to be the star of the show in most other places' moussaka pizza. But here, the eggplant is cut to small pieces and breaded. They use more meat here, in the form of meatballs. And there's quite of bit of an addition of feta cheese, which adds a bit of tang. It comes together quite nicely, and it was a reminder of why it's a must-order for me. I have to maintain, between this place and the other, I'd flip a coin. Neither are super amazing places, but neither are bad. Again, if you get that craving for pizza, this place will hit the spot.

Each person in our party received our slices after being warmed in the oven, in individual boxes, and still toasty by the time we settled in at the brewery. The staff were pleasant and attentive. Little over $20 for 4 slices of pizza which seems pretty standard for the convenience and portion sizes. A quick in and out with plenty of napkins in tow. Plenty of patrons dining in as well making for a social, family-friendly atmosphere.

Another thirty minutes pass and I realize they definitely have the wrong number written down for callback. So I call them again and get put on wait for five minutes listening to the worker talk causally to other people. The worker seemed to be in a daze and was confused, she claimed she knew what the problem was and then left for another period of time returning with no answer. She said she could get our food right to us and when I asked if the food would be cold she said they could remake it and get fresh food to us in thirty minutes max. Well, upon giving them the right phone number five minutes later we get a call, it is another worker saying he is leaving right now with our food (they just warmed it). So instead of making fresh food for us they gave us hour old lukewarm food. This was true, as upon receiving the food I was greatly disappointed. The mozzarella sticks were again, lukewarm and tasted soggy due to the reheat. The pizza was also, lukewarm and there was not enough sauce, salt or toppings. Finally, the salad was okay, hard to mess up. This place was not worth the hour and thirty minute wait for mediocre un fresh food. Management/the workers seem to be confused and are unhelpful for the most part. I am really disappointed in this place and I will not be ordering here again.
