Highkey average and was almost disappointed. I heard a lot of greats things about TP TEA both in SoCal and NorCal but they all kind of taste the same despite the "From Taiwan" branding. The drinks (tea) are good but not that good and are comparable to many good tea shops and overall are not special like it's often advertised as. You order on the tablet (there's 2) and the tablet did not have an opt out option to tip 10% or have a custom amount ... so I found that to be super weird and forced to give tip even though it was self-ordering system. All in all, I'm not sure if I will give it a try again anytime soon. read more

I came here with a co-worker during lunch for a quick pick me up as it was 10 mins from the office. They do ordering through a tablet and you can customize your drinks however you want. I got the Brûlée styled drinks and I think it's still a little too sweet for me even when I customized it to the least sweet. Good substitute if you don't want to wait in long lines at omomo or orobae. Not much seating inside as it's a quick grab and go boba joint. Parking was easy too. read more

My friend just got me the Tie Guan Yin milk tea with boba. It is so good! The bobas are smaller than other places but I loved it, felt like I have more boba to enjoy. Boba is not very sweet which I like as well. I would definitely come back. read more

I love this place, I always get the tie guan yin. But sometimes the quantity of drink is inconsistent. Very recently I got a drink with no ice but received way less drink than I expected (see picture) which made me very sad. Still love the drinks and would come back, but hope that the quantity becomes more consistent over time. read more

Easy parking, staff are nice, drinks are decent 9.5/10, variety to choose from, you don't need to wait long to get you drink, 2 automatic machine to order your drink so nobody asks for your tips or all those chit chats.... This is one of my favorite places to get boba in Irvine. I like the TGY oolong drinks. The tea has a nice flavor, and the drinks are not too sweet. If you like fresh taro, those drinks are pretty decent too. I recommend the QQ noodle if you like really chewy textures. You order on an iPad-like device, so there is very little interaction with employees. It also gets pretty crowded on the weekends, but it moves pretty quickly. read more

I was hesitant to try TP TEA at first, but now it is actually one of my favorite boba place. I usually get the green milk tea, which taste amazing! If you like a strong tea taste in your milk tea, this place is for you. The drink is on the sweeter side so I usually would get 80%. The only thing is that their boba is smaller than the conventional boba size. However, the place does not skim out on given you boba or other toppings. The self ordering is convenient but might take awhile as people would take long to select their drink. To skip the line, you can order online through the affiliated app that TP Tea use for point. We were in the Irvine area for errands to look for some tea. I ordered their recommended lemon green tea to be safe and I thought it wasn't bad at all. Fortunately, it doesn't taste like someone squeezed an ordinary lemon into tea and call it a day. I describe it more like a limeade with a hint of rind taste to it. Usually I order 50 percent sweetness and I think here it's good enough of a balance where it's neither diluted nor too sweet. As far as prices go, it is a little on the pricier side but not a total ripoff (subjective and how you want to interpret 5.75 for a drink). I can't really speak for the service here as my interaction was minimal and I just picked up the drink at the counter. Drinks are high quality and so far I've really liked the jasmine milk tea. The tea flavor isn't too strong and their cheese cap is really good. Just be careful as I find the drinks to be on the sweeter side of the spectrum in comparison to other boba shops around the area. Great place! It's very small but cozy. You order on a self-kiosk, and the menu is very big for what it's worth. I ordered the Thai Tea Brulee Tornado and was wowed away about how it tastes. They have a boba mango milk tea which is really good. They only do sweetness adjustments to 80% for that drink but I feel like that's a good amount. They also have a good Tie Guan Ying milk tea which is good at 30% sweet. Also they have an elusive medium sized boba which combines the best aspects of small and regular sized boba. Out all the tea places like Ding Tea, Tastee, Seven Leaves, this place is my favorite tea place thus far. They have a large variety of teas, and their smoothie is very good. Order needs to be placed on a order pad, but they are pretty quick in making your tea. Nice decor, not a lot of seating, and made to get your drink and go. read more

I used to always get Orobae whenever I'm in Irvine but decided to try TP Tea instead and I'm so glad I did. I've only ordered tie guan yin at yum cha so I got the tie guan yin milk tea and it was delicious, the rich tea flavor shines through and is more unique than your typical black or green milk tea. The milk tea here is creamy and smooth and honestly one of the best I've had! Do beware the 100% sweet is pretty sweet so I would get 80% sweet next time instead. Didn't really expect anything when I came in as I had never heard of this brand before. There was a long line at around 2-3 PM on Saturday. Clean space with nice decor typical of most Taiwanese franchise boba shops. No seating available. Decent amount of baristas making drinks, around 4-6. Extensive menu with a great selection of drinks for just about anyone. Milk teas, tea lattes, matcha, fruit teas, pure teas. Based on the ratio of milk-based teas to all other drinks, one could assume that their specialty was in milk teas/lattes. The matcha was advertised as Kyoto Uji. I normally drink ceremonial matcha daily, and this was pretty good by my standards. Vibrant green, maybe not teahouse grade but at least barista grade ceremonial. I ordered the wintermelon tie guan yin with qq noodles, almond jelly matcha, almond jelly green tea, premium jasmine green tea, signature black tea, and tie guan yin oolong tea with qq noodles. Each drink was roughly $4.75-$6.50 before tax. Not bad for a default 22 oz. For tea lattes, they used Alta Dena whole milk and the oat milk option was Califia oat milk. There were 2 self-serve kiosks that helped to speed up the process. Everything was smooth until I got to the check out screen. After my order and total were confirmed, a tip screen popped up with default options, the lowest being 10%. No custom tip options available. You could not advance to the next screen to confirm payment without choosing one of the tip options provided. Essentially, whether or not you wanted to, if you ordered on the self-serve kiosk you had no choice but to tip based on one of the 4 pre-set percentages. Tipping is normal but my two cents is it should be left to the customer's discretion for the amount. Mind you, it was a self-serve kiosk and I had no interaction with any of the baristas as they were all busy making drinks, not cashiering or serving like at a dine-in restaurant or cafe. My gentle suggestion is to include a custom tip option for customers so they can choose their own amounts based on how satisfied they are with their experience. It's fair. After I tipped and paid via card with chip on the self-serve kiosk, I waited about 5-10 minutes for my drinks. Pretty efficient. Tea flavor was strong and fragrant, mmmm. Almond jelly stole the show. Perfect chewiness for the qq noodles. Just enough tension. No complaints. Would definitely come back as the drinks are delightful. read more

Been here 3 times now. Not bad at all. Service is relatively fast, wait times given are accurate, nice amount of options and general taste profile is good. The reason for 4/5 stars is that their boba/tapioca pearls are TINY. I'd say they're about half the size of traditional boba. And that kind of ruins the drink a bit for me. I'll still come here occasionally, but I prefer the boba elsewhere. read more
