Hi all. I just had the most delicious grandma pizza and regular pizza. The tricolor and Mediterrean salad was so yummy. Next was the halubit with crispy smashed potatoes and spinach. Beyond delish. So. This restaurant was actually pretty nice. Not a native to tenafly, and just visiting. Me and the relatives ordered at TPR some pizza, cheese. I got some spaghetti and meatballs, as I enjoyed the spaghetti, a relative asked to try the meatballs. Long story short, the meatballs for one, were massive. Like three inches diameter. Great value , decent red sauce restaurant and service is always efficient . The pasta fagoli soup is quite good as are the wings. We have never left without a doggie bag as the portion sizes are ample . I love their pizza!! BUT!!!!!! There was one night. It was 25 minutes before closing but i called just to see if they could make a personal pizza. They had 2 choices they could of told me 1 sorry we are closing 2 don't answer the phone But they answer and they told me to go pick it up right away. I was 3 minutes away When i got there one of the guys wearing white gave the pizza with such a horrible attitude cutting the pizza so hard it cut the box as well i said thank you and got no answer but a dirty look The only reason i keep going there is because my son loves the pizza from there. The regular pizza Crust could be cooked a little bit more it's a bit doughy. The sauce on the pizza is very fresh but it doesn't have a lot of flavor and is almost raw or tomato paste tasting. The Sicilian pizza is super thick could be a little bit more airy. Needs more sauce. The crust was awesome. I think overall the pizza is very good it just needs a little kick of flavor. read more

TPR is one of the most popular family style Italian restaurants in the area and it does a bustling take out business. Originally a small pizzeria a few doors down in the same strip mall in Tenafly, it took a larger space and became more upscale adding a real Italian restaurant to it's take out business. This became so successful that they took an additional space for more restaurant seating. This is a family owned establishment that has a 2nd generation (the original owners' children) expanding it into more similar restaurant/take out places elsewhere. If you want a nice casual place to go to for great Italian food where the service is attentive and everyone's smiling, go to TPR. You won't be disappointed. It can get very busy and they don't take reservations but everyone manages to get seated. Because it's in a strip mall, parking is never an issue too. read more

My parents brought me here as a little girl so I have very fond memories of this place. My mother would take me there after I would get out of Mount Carmel and on weekends my father and I would order for pick up and eat at the park down the street. I used to live in Englewood which was not too far from Tenafly but now I am farther so I don't come as often as I'd like. The food has never changed throughout the many years I have gone there. It is awesome. The chicken marsala and chicken franchese (spelling?) have been ordered regularly by my family. Their clams oreganata I can eat all day, every day if i could. It is buttery, lemony and the topping is crisp. A must if you like seafood. I never really came across anything I didn't like here. read more

i guess they've changed ownership because this is NOT the TPR i know. i've ordered more than regularly since moving back to NJ 4 years ago and the last few times I've ordered, the food has been near inedible. their tomato sauce was home to me (i even once brought quarts of it when i was studying abroad lol), but sadly I wont be going there any longer. im so sad - please go back to the old menu (or at least bring back the sauce?!) read more

I've been here hundreds of times in my life so this was disappointing at best. I was completely famished when I walked into TPR last week so I would've been happy with just about anything I was served. I ordered two slices of plain to-go. The counter person wearing a superman hoody took my money before putting the slices in the oven and then proceeded to scrape stuff from the front of the oven with the same offset spatula which he eventually used to retrieve my slices. A full service Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria. I cannot really comment on the restaurant part since I have only had their pizza. My family stopped ordering pizza from those national chains such as Pizza Hut and Dominoes after we tried TPR pizza. Their pizza really reminded me of those classic pizzeria pizza I used to eat when growing up as a kid in New York City, nothing fancy, just delicious pizza. THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD AT A RESTAURANT. I have been going to this restaurant for OVER 9 years and today I was treated UNBELIEVABLY horribly by the staff. My sister, friend and I came to enjoy a meal but instead we had to wait for 5 minutes to get seated not because it was packed but because there was no onenoticing us at the door. There were only 2 other families and 5 people on staff, they would even look at us and not do anything... After we were finally seated( rudely by someone who threw our menus on the table and just walked away rolling their eyes at us)we then waited 20 minutes for just the bread. We had to send the very sweet bus boy to get our server who had not come to our table for 30 minutes, it was a total 45 minute wait for our food in a practically empty restaurant, and the waitress never came to check on us for more water or drinks, and even when we wanted dessert, someone els had to get her for us AGAIN. She didn't even come to collect the check, some other server saw us waiting and took it. By the end of our meal we were disappointed by the food and that we barely saw our waiter only when she braught out our food, so we left a smaller tip. I NEVER leave small tips and don't think it's right unless you were treated badly and left waiting for over a half hour just to take your order. There was practically no service from this waitress, only when we had someone els go get her and even when she was taking our dessert order, I tried to ask her a question of whether or not the dessert was good but she just walked away and pretended not to hear me in this very quiet restaurant. As we are leaving disappointed about everything, she decides to run after us outside to tell my sister to "Never come here again with that small $4 tip" and gave back the tip by shoving it to back in my sisters hands. My sister told her very kindly to keep it and she got so angry and went back inside with it. I didn't even want to give her a tip by how careless and neglecting of us she was. After she had mocked my friend and my sister, I had no choice but to go back inside to tell her how inappropriate and disrespectful she was, and how bad of a service she gave us. I asked her a few questions of "why she neglected us? Why did it take you 30 minutes to even notice us in this empty restaurant? "she was in complete denial and gave me no answer. Instead she proceeded to say she was a "great server, you don't know what you are talking about" and told me to never come back here again while trying to shove the tip money back in my hands. I was not done and wanted answers so I then asked why we were waiting at the door for 5 minutes when there was practically no one in here? Then the girl who sat us down was sitting at a booth talking to her friend who didn't even work there, turned and said very nastily "oh yeah that was me sorry"rolled her eyes at me, and turned around and to continue talking to her friend.The server continued to tell me I need to leave and not come back almost as a threat this time! The manager was laughing thewhole time, telling my server to calm down. But not once telling her she had no right to tell me not to come back, she was NOT the owner. As the manager laughed I said to her "there's nothing funny about this, I've been coming here for years and never have I left a bad tip. The first time I do is today because your server neglected us and did not do her job. Truthfully She's lucky she even got a tip from us. Your not doing your job when everyone els is doing it for you" she then stopped laughing. The server was so unprofessional and completely rude on every level. The MANAGER DID NOTHING. I just went in there to get answers of why this all happened to my little sister and friend. After the 10th time telling me she was a good server and told me to not come back AGAIN it began to feel like a threat.. and one she had no authority to give, I then Left to go back into my car very upset with nothing resolved because the manager was so careless and found everything hilarious. As we sat in the car about to drive off, the server decided the best way to end this was to give my friend "THE FINGER!" through the window with a smile on her face while they all laughed.... I HAVE NEVER seen anything like this before, just complete lack of respect! PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!! I know from experience as a waitress you need to give your customers the experience you would want. If your not there for your customers why should you deserve a good tip?! just horrible all around! read more

TPR is a main staple in town. The restaurant has tables and booths, and offers a full Italian menu. The penne CBT and baked ziti is a favorite. They serve the bread warm and it tastes yummy with butter. The garlic nuggets are tasty and garlicky but takes a long time to make, so order it as soon as you are seated. There's pizza pies or by the slice. The pizza is ok. But I prefer Cassie's coal oven pizza. I usually call for takeout, and the food makes it home piping hot. read more

It happened one time and the people at the take out counter were annoyed. There is an older woman that is the hostess during the day on Sunday that is out of her mind. As a local, I come here regularly with my family and know the staff well. Because I've been coming since childhood, I've had a pretty good cross-section of the menu. Though not particularly well-known outside of Tenafly, this is one restaurant that just does everything well. There is a good variety on the menu, although the focus is clearly Italian. This place is fantastic. My family always gets takeout from here and it's always delicious. Their eggplant parm has long been my favorite. We also like the chicken parm, veal marsala, and crabmeat stuffed shrimp. Everything comes with a side of pasta or salad. The side of spaghetti by itself is enough for a meal (and the tomato sauce is so good I have to sop it all up with bread), and the salad is my favorite restaurant salad anywhere.
