Maybe this location is going for an old, rundown look? Anyways, my last two visits I just picked two flavors that sounded like a good match. Matcha, of course, and lavender! For my base, I chose black milk tea and asked for less ice and 50% sugar. It turned it delicious! Gave me very earthy vibes! So if you're into flowery drinks, I recommend trying this combo out! From all of the flavors (syrups probably) they have, you can go wiiild and mix and match! Well, yo to 3 flavors only. And if your drink doesn't come out the way you hoped, just let them know and they will be happy to change up your drink. So the concept of ordering your drink is easily. Pick a size, pick your flavors, pick your tea (green, black, non-caffeinated, + others), add milk if you want (whole, soy, almond), adjust the sweetness, then add toppings (honey boba, taro, etc.). My gf and I have been to this TPUMPS location a couple of times without any huge complaints. TPUMPS at all locations have hellla flavors and ways to mix up your drinks as you wish. You're able to get add-ons on the side and/or get your drinks made hot. They usually sell premade teas in to-go cups ready to buy and drink the day after. They have a good spot located in Burlingame with a shopping strip that reminds me a little of Walnut Creek (if you've ever been). Drinks are usually made with a sense of urgency and if you don't like your drink, the staff is always willingly able to make a new or totally different drink for you. Prices are very reasonable! We ordered four drinks and the total came out to $13. I know for a fact other boba spots charge at leaaaast $4-4.75 per drink so it's definitely worth it here given how tasty their products are. ***This TPUMPS location however, needs a huuuge remodel. I went to their original San Mateo years ago in which I thought it was just okay. One time I got what Yelp buddy Cherylynn would call, Hershey squirts from one of their smoothies or milk teas. So this time I just got a passion mango peach green tea with no milk. He got the passion fruit guava tangerine green tea, which is supposed to taste similar to POG, ask with no milk and added boba. I mixed red bean and taro flavors into my MT base, and had honey boba as my topping. Worried that I concocted something otherworldly, I was surprised that that mix turned out good! There were remnants of red bean skins, which makes me happy knowing that it's not powdered. Boba wasn't as QQ as my favorite boba spots like to make it. It wasn't as cushiony/chewy/springy as the texture I like, but I'm a picky boba drinker. So this wasn't a big surprise to me. I got 0% sweet and less ice, and that was perfect. Our cashier girl was so fast and efficient. Clearly, she has tons of experience taking orders from confused people and long lines. Hats off to you--mad respect. In terms of value for the price paid, Tpumps definitely delivers. They have one of the more approachable prices for the amount of bubble tea you get. The interior of the space looks as scrappy as ever, even if they aren't sharing a space with a post office anymore. The bubble tea selection is still on the small side, but they do have fancier and prettier looking menus (despite the sad hole-in-the-wall look). However, I think the quality is lacking a little -- the tea isn't strong enough, with the syrups overpowering. What really stood out to me about this location in particular is that even with the long lines and wait time due to high demand popularity, their customer service is still alive and well. They really care about their customers and loved that they had one of their employees engage with those in line by asking if we wanted to try a sample! This is a really nice touch to me because I have been here during hot days when you feel super parched and these samples really do the trick of keeping you hydrated and pumped for what's to come (a drink of your own)! It was also nice because my aunt who was a Tpumps newbie was able to try a few different flavor combinations while in line and was able to decide what she wanted from one of the samples! My go to: -------------- Mango Peach Passion (Green Tea or Black Tea with and without milk) - This flavor combo is a classic and works super well. Soft opening today ^_^ This new Tpumps is bigger than the San Mateo one and it definitely has more leg room to move around in. And bonus: they have 2 cash registers here! They only have 1 of the five stars reward machines which is okay, but makes me feel bad for reaching across the other cash register to scan my card. Service here was prompt and I got my drink in less than 5 minutes. I got honey peppermint with boba and it basically taste the same as when I get it from the San Mateo location. The boba is still as chewy and soft as I remember it. Oh! And I heard from the worker that they now have flavors such as guava, watermelon, and pineapple... Hmm. Got to try those next time! My only concern for this place is that there is only 1 entry/exit way. To leave you would have to go through the crowd of people waiting in line to order their drinks. If this place gets crowded like how San Mateo is then... there's gonna be a lot of "excuse me's" Prices are also more expensive than the San Mateo location. A regular size was about $2.95-3 I think? And a Pumpo was $4.05 which is ridiculous but then again, it might just be because of how expensive it is to hold down a shop in Burlingame. Either way.. it's pricier over in this Tpumps. After all these years, this is still one of my favorite boba spots. You get to customize your drink any way you want, the staff is super friendly and prices are great. I've been going to this location since they opened and it's always the same great service and quality drinks. Since they reopened post-covid, they've kept the storefront to only the front of the store. I actually don't mind it... it keeps people from crowding in the small store and keeps the employees safe. My favorite drinks are strawberry mango black milk tea with honey boba and for my hot drink, I love coconut passion black milk tea. If you don't know what to order, ask the person at the front and they'll come up with suggestions! I also love how they never rush you! It might be annoying when you're in line, but every person can take their time to make sure they get the right drink. Tuesdays are Tpumps Tuesdays which means you get a free upgrade with your order. When we decided to try Tpumps, I had every intension of hating the taro milk tea drink we ordered. I figured, nothing can ever compare to my beloved 85c taro smoothie. After waiting approximately 15 minutes for the drink to come out, I gave him the first sip and waited for the verdict before my taking a sip. He said it was good, different but good. Okay... Let me see what this drink is all about. I don't know what happened but within 1 block of walking back to the car, I managed to suck the taro drink out of the cup and left a sip or two with ice in the cup! It was different but extremely tasty! It wasn't a smoothie but we could had paid more for it become a smoothie. I didn't taste any tea and only tasted sweetened taro with milk and bits of taro that provided some texture. It was definitely good! After I turned the cup over to him, he got a sip out with loads of ice. Boy was he mad he didn't get much out of the drink. My bad! But he did say sharing is caring and he was the one that decided to order one 24oz drink for the both of us. And we did share... 95/5. Me = 95%! All I have to say...accidents happen. Tpumps opened up the world of boba for me and it's still definitely a good one to me. I like that the drinks are so customizable and the boba is very good. Sweet and chewy. I was excited to see that they have non caffeinated tea and lactose free milk. Of all the places i go to, this is the only place i think has these options. The new social distancing precautions are great and organized. They're pretty quick with service and the drinks still taste as good as I remember before SIP. I was happy to hear that they open again. The line was long but they made sure go do it on the sides where the sidewalk won't get disturbed. What a great way to break in a new tPumps! Holiday flavors! Gingerbread black milk tea, hot! It was so flavorful and soothing going down my scratchy throat on such a cold chilly day.
