Is this tea better than say boba guys or urban ritual probably not but if you are looking for a drink in any flavor combo you can think of this is the place. Like that they have tons of combos you can make and boba comes included. Unless you like drinking soda I recommend light sweetness or lower. It's pretty sweet but that's how the kids like it I guess. Can't believe I haven't written a review for Tpumps yet! I've been going to this location ever since they closed the San Mateo one. Even before COVID, all the staff are super friendly and nice! Parking is plentiful in the plaza parking lot. There is usually always a line but I don't mind it! Glad to see they put in the social distancing placeholders for the line and everyone was wearing masks while making the drinks! My all time favorite is their peach rose lychee green tea! This place was packed on a hot Friday afternoon. On my usual mission for boba, I found Tpumps, which apparently is a very popular boba place in the area. During Covid, you order through a window and they call your name for the order. When we got there, there was a line to order and many people waiting for their drinks. Their drink menu is not intuitive because they have a wide array of options, so we just ordered the popular or easy items. Their portions are huge! We got the almond roca vanilla raspberry milk tea and a pineapple slush. They were both good, but the pineapple slush got watered down at the end. I think it needed to be blended longer. I loved their boba! They taste fresh and just the right texture. Their customer service was great and when we left the line was mad long! Glad we beat it. My friend and I went on a Sunday afternoon. There was a long line so we decided to order online and do pickup which was a 30 minute wait. I got the strawberry mango lychee green tea and it was what was expected. It tasted good, but you could tell it was mostly syrup (?) I'm not sure if that's the right word to use. Tpumps is good when it comes to expecting consistency. You know what you're going to get and the quality of it. You basically get to design your own drink so if it doesn't taste good, it is all on you. Personally, the taste was very syrupy and I feel like I'd only go here if I was craving it or wanted a quick tea fix. Always a line as there is no seating in the inside but it goes by fairly quick! It's a small shop, which seems to be a favorite for the younger crowd because of its affordability and convenience by the lagoon. It is, I admit a very nice size for what you pay for! I'm holding in my hand a $6 drink! I got the almond roca raspberry vanilla which is on their favorites menu (last one). But I got it with green tea instead of black. Much preferred! My only suggestion is that I wish they said the name of the order when it's done. They did it sometimes, but other times they said what the order was. Open for business now during Quarantine!! Tpumps has been closed for awhile and it was definitely to be expected of a very long line. The other 2 locations open is Fremont and in SoCal, however SF and Burlingame are still closed. Hours: 11AM-9PM The first week of opening, the line went all the way past CVS. However, they did a great job at forming a line with 6 ft tape and signs for directions on where to stand. I love how the staff had a window plastic barrier for ordering, and everyone was wearing a mask and gloves handling the drinks. LONG ASS OVERDUE FOR A REVIEW. I remember the days when Tpumps used to be the ONLY option for good boba and was the king of boba in the Peninsula Bay Area about 10+ years ago. Real OGs remember the B Street location next to Old Town and the long ass line that was ALWAYS going past the CREAM lmaooo! Tpumps is always consistent to me, and their free upgrade to a large on Tuesdays is hard to beat. Their prices for a boba tea is just so cheap and tastes better than other competitive boba joints in the area which charge 2x. If you need a quick fix, this is the place. Their honey boba tastes great too--a little bit more on the chewier and softer side, so if you like that harder consistency, idk if you'll be a fan, but I love it! Now, if you want that "quality fresh milk and fresh fruit blah blah," this aint your place. They use lactose free powder creamer as their milk (unless you want a milk substitute like whole milk, almond, or soy for a slight upcharge, they can def do that too!), and they use artificial fruit flavorings. But hey, their tea is A1 and you can actually taste it even mixed in with all that fake fruity goodness lol My go-to order for the last 10+ years has always been a taro coconut black milk tea with boba and taro chunks, light sweet (this is a fresh topping btw, along with their red bean topping too). Even during the winter as a hot drink mmhmm, it hits the spot fasho! The taro they mix in with the tea is powder, but it's the best tasting powder taro I've ever had. Ordering is easy and your drink is made within minutes. The honey boba itself was maybe the best I've had, or at least top 3. It was served warm, had the perfect size and chew, and adds the perfect amount of sweetness. The service was fast and efficient, and the value is unbeatable. It cost $10 for two 24-oz drinks with toppings. They also have a huge selection of flavors for you to mix and match with different types of teas, creamers, and toppings. The combinations are truly endless. This Tpumps is located in a large shopping center, right across the street from a pretty scenic waterfront off of E. Hillsdale. I remember coming to Tpumps from time to time in the past because when I visited family then, we would often be visiting the dim sum restaurant right next to it as well. This shopping center used to be very difficult to find parking, but as with most places nowadays, the parking lot was pretty empty. So parking doesn't seem to be as big of an issue now as it used to be if you're making a visit. They are currently only offering takeout. When you arrive at Tpumps, there is just a table set up at the front entrance. Staff was helpful, no complaints there. Speed of making the drinks were also okay; not fast, not slow, though it did start to border a bit on the slower side. Pricing is good here. I got a large cup that only ended up costing me $5 total, and it's a pretty good sized cup. It's as tall as a regular size drink for your typical boba place, but it's one of those wider ones, so it's quite a bit of drink in the end. Now let's discuss the drink. I was unfortunately not terribly pleased with the milk tea with black tea. I got the drink with 70% sugar, and no ice. Once I did get my drink, and started drinking it, it was surprisingly kind of bland for a 70% sugar. As I've noted, I've had Tpumps at this particular location before in the past. However, on this visit, this was not quite the Tpumps that I used to remember from previous visits. The drink was bland, there's not much that can be done about that, but the most egregious part here with Tpumps was how bad their boba was today. One thing that you can generally depend on with Tpumps, whether it'd be here, Burlingame, or any other location in the Bay is their boba. However, this particular Tpumps was a real disappointment with the quality and texture of the boba. It was straight mush. Didn't have even a remote amount of QQness in the texture, and there was basically no center to it at all for the person drinking to even grasp. Didn't even have enough of their signature honey boba, which at Tpumps, actually means honey boba. The flavor of the boba today was just the typical bland boba quality. Final verdict: Nice location that is quiet, and across the street from a nice waterfront off E. Hillsdale. Certain times of the day might be good to grab your drink and then walk alongside that street to see a nice view, sunset recommended. Staff were adequate, no issues. Pricing here is good, as the large size will get you plenty of drink compared to other places regular size. As for the drink though, it was very underwhelming today, both from the drink part of it, and from the boba part of it. I've noted that I've been to this Tpumps before in the past, throughout the years, and never had an issue. Even at other locations, no issues before. However on this Monday, the drink was just underwhelmingly bland, boba was basically just a round ball of tasteless mush, and did not meet their usual standards of what is a Tpumps drink. They haven't had a bad experience for me in the past, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for this day, but I certainly hope this isn't how this particular Tpumps is now moving forward. read more

Customer service has always been good here. Patient, easygoing staff even with a line stretching outside. Tpumps emphasizes on customer satisfaction. Take a sip and let them know if you don't like it. I ordered 4 drinks last time I was here and they forgot to add milk (non-dairy powdered Coffee Mate creamer) to one of them. I let the cashier know and they remade it. We normally order non-caffeinated tea and it takes a bit longer because they have to brew it. Sensitive to caffeine so this option rocks! Black and green teas are readily available because they're constantly replenished. For an additional fee, you can order a specialty tea like Oolong. Choose 1-3 flavors of Torani syrup, or take a glance at customer favorites on the wall behind the counter for the indecisive. Cup size, hot/cold, flavors, milk, sweetness level, and toppings. Drink price comes with 1 topping already. Popping boba is extra though, almost $1. Red bean, honeydew flavors are extra also. They always have drink samples at the front, normally an iced drink and 2 hot ones. I used to get peach mango lychee BMT with mango popping boba but nowadays I get watermelon guava non-caff MT with boba & strawberry popping boba. I was on a stroll with friends at the Leo J Ryan Park right across the street from T-Pumps. There aren't any locations near me, so this was my chance to finally give it a go for the first time! Before reaching the register, there was a dispenser of tea concoctions for anyone to sample. So if you are indecisive on what to order, you may discover a new favorite!
