I absolutely really want to love this place the food is good the problem is the service is fucking terrible. Every time you go to the to-go window the guy that works there is either in a bad mood or a very bad mood which means almost all of the time he messes up your order and forgets to gives you forks and knives and overall just has a shit eating grin on his face and a bad attitude. I went there this weekend with my family spent $180 on food only to realized almost everything on the order was messed up and a sandwich was missing and once again the same guy couldn't even fill the cups with water. God forbid you asked the guy to do something simple like give you four glasses of water and it's too much to ask. He filled the glasses hall way with water. Why is it so hard to get good service. I tip 20% every time I go but the service and attitude is still shit. read more

We sat outside on a pretty sunny day which was a good choice and good ambiance. We started with a ceasar salad which was super mediocre. I ordered the gnocchi with pesto instead of veal sauce which seemed overly heavy. It was tasty but not mind blowing. Also ordered the seafood pasta. Decent wine selection. Service was average. I ordered take out for one pizza and a zucchini and eggplant dish. Spent 42 dollars for absolutely nothing. The meats on the pizza were under cooked and looked like the whole thing came out of a microwave pizza box. The eggplant dish was sloppy and was plopped into a plastic box like it came straight from the soup kitchen. I will not go to a place like this and spend over 40 dollars for food that does not look appetizing, nor sufficient in quantity or quality. Disappointed. read more

I have been coming to Tra di Noi for over a decade. It is quintessential Malibu dining. Sit outside on the patio on a warm day and enjoy the views of the park and the Malibu Country Mart and you are very likely to spot a celeb or two. But this is Malibu, so no one cares! Service has never been perfect, but they make up for it with excellent homemade Italian fare. This really is one of those places where everything from the salads to the pizzas and pastas are all wonderful. I love the beet salad with asparagus and goat cheese and their new pizza with tomato sauce and burrata is heavenly! Their classic caesar with shaved parmesan is also a winner and one of the better caesar salads I've had ever. The menu is quite large so there is something for everyone. For dessert you must ask for the strawberry "pizza!" It's not on the menu, but so incredibly flavorful and refreshing. This is definitely one of my top dining destinations in Malibu! read more

Bad service, they said they don't have beer and then they brought it to 2 different tables. We asked for the heat lamp to be turned on, but they said it's for the other side, after 20 minutes of the heat lamp not being turned off and being next to us, we asked again, they still refused and moved it to the other side and turned it on but of course nobody was sitting in surrounding tables where they put it, very illogical people work there. We even complained to the manager, but he said that the way they should do it , still can't understand the logic of turning it on for nobody, where we sat in the cold with our kids. Delicious Italian food in Malibu! Unsurprisingly Malibu doesn't have TOO many options when it comes to food, but that is not to say there is a shortage of fine dining. We ordered a lobster pasta, homemade gnocchi with a rich bolognese sauce, and a prosciutto pizza. It's hard to choose a favorite, as all three were authentic, fresh, and definitely a step above your average Pasta Pomodoro dining experience. Went for lunch and found that the lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu, so no cheaper prices for lunch unlike most places. You are given a few types of lukewarm bread with olive spread. The bread could definitely be helped by being warmed up, but the green olive spread is full of olive flavor, a nice mild olive not a salty one. Got the Spaghetti Carbonara ($18), homemade spaghetti with pancetta and heavy cream sauce, rather than egg yolks like many carbonara. I was excited to get this as I had a carbonara made this same way in Italy and it was absolutely delicious. However this dish fell short. While the actual spaghetti noodles were great texturally and the pancetta was nicely crisped, the sauce was way too fatty. It felt like I was shoveling noodles covered in butter and animal fat into my mouth. The flavor was OK, but not worth the fattiness of it. Service was great, with the exception of our waiter. The bus boys and water pourers were friendly and catered us very well. However, we couldnt ever flag down the waiter and when we did he blew us off. They have a take-out window here and I may come back to that window to try new food, but probably won't sit back down after the experience with the waiter. read more

Went for a quick walk around to return 5 past the hour to be told they already have reservations and my family cannot be accommodated other than sitting in the playground area. More than half the tables were open and free. No one in line. Really poor service by the front desk and which ever manager was there. We dined here many many times and we were never ever disappointed so yes it is a 5 star. The hostess told me that they could not seat me and my husband outside because the restaurant was fully booked. At the time, eighty percent of the tables were empty. We opted to order to go and eat at a public table in front of the parking lot. As we were waiting for our food, another party approached the hostess a few minutes later and asked for a table outside. The party did not have reservations either. She proceeded to seat them. Did she have an issue with my ethnic background? Did my appearance not meet her standards? Met some friends who were staying there and this was their suggestion. It is tucked in a plaza off of the PCH. Had a beautiful lunch "al fresco" which I can rarely do at home (South Florida). We ordered a great bottle of Cakebread Chardonnay for the table and a pizza to start. The pizza was ok, not impressed. Impressed, however, with the pasta quality and service. Everyone got a special with a cream sauce and shaved truffle over it and I had the seafood medley. Holy decadent goodness! So good. It was a bit much for a "lunch" but I was on vacation ok? Our friends had their kids with them and they watched them as they played in the nearby playground. Great set up to have the playground so close. The service was outstanding as well. Tra di Noi translated is Between Us. This gem of a restaurant has heavenly delicious Italian food, I was hesitant to write about it, and keep this to myself! Located off of PCH in Cross Creek in Malibu. This is a retroactive review, I have had few occasions for brunch and dinner because it is one of the restaurants close enough from Carbon Beach, where my friend resides. Some weekends, a brunch buffet is the way to taste lots of delicious items. I'm guilty of wanting to try everything so a buffet with a lot of the foods I like was perfect. The food was set up inside the moderate size restaurant and most of the seating is outdoor patio. In the Bu, it's stylish relaxed casual attire.. after being seated, I noticed some familiar entertainment biz faces. Buffets are not really my thing, but the food choices were beyond irresistibly appealing...so I picked a tad of everything mostly grilled: longastino, octopus, artichokes, portabella. Crispy Cheese filled Squash blossoms were addictive. Sat down outside the shaded patio and enjoyed. Because this restaurant is inside the complex and away from tourists buses, it's less of a mad house. On weekends during the day, there are lots of kids, as the sand box gym is nearby. For dinner on different and multiple occasions, I have had the Dover sole, the Branzino and the pistachio crusted salmon. Usually shared a salad, artichoke, beet or caprese. Always paired a bottle of chilled Pinot Grigio...the wine menu has incredible Italian imports from grigios, noirs and proseccos, the owner definitely has connections; he knows somebody! It's easy to leisurely wine and dine, it's a good thing I'm usually Not the designated driver and the drive back is close by to Carbon Beachfront. read more

Take out window makes for a delicious and easy lunch in the Malibu Country Mart. Ordered a Brie sandwich (Brie, chicken, grilled zucchini) which comes with a small salad. The sandwich was enormous (good enough for two lunches) and delicious. The combination of tangy Brie with the sandwich was fabulous, and the salad was quickly eaten as it was simple lettuce with Caesar dressing. Yum. A bit pricey but when you can split it into two servings it's a nice lunch treat. Once you get the food from the window, choose a table and seat outside ("on the patio") and enjoy the food and the ambiance. read more

Probably my favorite restaurant of all time! I've been coming here since I was a kid but aside from the nostalgia, this place has had consistently exceptional service and a desirable menu. At our most recent visit, I got the Ravioli Rosa: a spinach and ricotta ravioli with a pink sauce. If you are a pasta fan, I highly recommend this dish! My fiancé got the lemon-caper salmon with sautéed broccolini and roasted potatoes. This is hands down THE BEST SALMON WE HAVE EVER HAD. I was blown away! I make salmon at home weekly, I've made it a million different ways, but this salmon was completely unachievable for me, I don't know how they did it. I can't recommend this dish enough! Besides the world greatest salmon and delicious ravioli, the complimentary fresh focaccia bread basket with oil/ tapenade is wonderful as well. If you're in Malibu or shopping at Cross Creek definitely make this your lunch stop! read more

A nice little place, that feels comfortable and communal, but largely does away with unnecessary excess. We came here on somewhat of a whim, as it was one of the last restaurants we could find open. It's not too difficult to find, right off of the PCH, and we were able to be seated quickly. Had it not been late at night, I would have really liked to sit on that patio. With perfect weather, I can't imagine it could get much better than that. However, seated inside during the night was lovely in it's own regard. Dim lighting, candles, would have been a great place for a date. They start you off with an olive tapenade, a nice change up from a regular balsamic and oil. The menu is sizable, but not overwhelmingly expansive. For myself I did the lasagna, and it was definitely great, but not something I would grant 5 stars. Italian is one of those cuisines, where even if it's not all that great, it's still good. However, the food here is certainly above average, and worth trying on a whim if you feel so inclined. Make sure you grab a mint on the way out, because those are straight fire. read more

What a bummer. Went yesterday with my mother and sister and what a disaster it was. The server hated us. My sister and I are in the service industry so we are super appreciative and polite at all times. The food was fine, but oh my we had to ask for everything in order to get service.
