This place was amazing!!! the hubby and I drove out from Vacaville to get us some barbecue. Well I really came for the Mexapino lumpia, which were amazing but the barbecue was fantastic too hubby and I each got a two-way plate as to try more things and even got to meet the big guy himself.... 10 out of 10.

We recently went to the brick & mortar store. It's not too big, you literally go through the door: place your order, pay, and walk out with your order. It's a pretty efficient and seamless option. They have outside dining area. Parking lot is pretty big because it's shared with other businesses. We came here for lunch and I was sad we weren't here earlier for breakfast. The menu sounded like a pretty good spread and they open at 6am. I'm not sure if that's weekends only or everyday that they are open. If I lived closer, I'd definitely be here to try breakfast. We ordered: 1. Pulled pork sliders: Amazing with the fries. 2. 2 way meat: brisket and tri tip were ok. A little over cooked for my liking. They ran out of mac n cheese and it was another 25 minutes for a fresh batch. I ended up going with potato salad which was pretty good. 3. Beef hot link: Ordered a side because I had to try it. To me it was pretty hot and spicy but flavorful. 4. Cali drip: I didn't know until leaving a review that this was the same place we tried in Vallejo. It was still disappointing to me in my opinion but my standards are pretty high for a calamansi drink. 5. Sunset drink: I forgot the name but this is delicious. It had bits of mango with cranberry juice. Overall, a good experience. I'll for sure come back soon to try breakfast

The family is nice but they're always out of ribs. They suggested the brisket, I paid $11 for 3 slices that had the consistency of wood. I've been trying to support them for months but 3 times they didn't have ribs and once they closed early but they don't answer the phone. I gave up

Our new go to Bbq spot!!! Service was great, Doc and his family were welcoming nice seeing a family running a business together. The food was delicious love that everything had flavor and went well together and nothing was dry. Smoked ox-tail kare kare was fire juicy and tender even had it with some rice, Pork ribs was juicy and the flavor was great didn't even need the bbq sauce loved the savory beans, Potato salad was good too! Tri tip and brisket were tender and juicy like I said nothing was dry. Definitely will be coming back.

Mexipinos - how beautiful is this tray!

Food is always great! Tasty and the meat is always tender. I've had their brisket, ribs and potato salad 10/10. Mexipinos are hubby's favorite! Service is fast and friendly. They do get busy so arriving early is your best bet to beat the line. Theres a lot of seating inside and outside, it's welcoming and family friendly.

Small little BBQ joint with outdoor seating. Very friendly staff. The Mexican Lumpias were very good. Think of a lumpia with birria meat with the soup. The ribs were very good, tender and juicy. The Tri tip was a bit dry and overcooked, I like my meat more rare. I would get the ribs again but probably not the Tri tip.

Smash burgers bring joy to my heart. Benicia does have burgers, but I'm really looking for a local place that isn't a chain. Don't get me wrong. I love places like In and out Burger but there's something about growing up with places like Cliffs and Buds Burger in Vallejo. Just an old fashioned place that does burgers right. So recently someone asked if I tried a BBQ place in the Industrial Area. If you are a Benician, then you are automatically skeptical but I peeped the menu and began getting more interested. Oh you do sandwiches too? Oh you do burgers too? Wait...yall got Lumpia too? There's definitely some potential. So I tried them out yesterday... That was an interesting first start. I think the number might be wrong on Yelp because I ended up calling the Vallejo location. Luckily he gave me the Benicia # and I called this one and was fine after. The lady who answered was super nice. She texted me when the order was ready. Luckily I was already on my way to pick it up. I live only 5 mins away so needless to say I picked it up shortly after. I'm not sure if there is sit down inside. There might be some place to eat outside but to me this place seems more like a to go location. You order at a window like The Workshop does it. And then you pick up your order on the right hand side. Now for food I wanna knock out the negatives which isn't much. The fries aren't really crispy but man are they flavorful. 2 stack(Basically a double double) was cooked perfectly. Literally the style is the closest thing to In and Out that Benicia has and Im not mad about it. It doesn't however come with Lettuce or tomatoes. It does however come with pickles on the side. Caramelized onions also come on the burger(Along with the usual mayo spread).Lastly they give you this sauce. I don't know what it is but it tastes like something close to a Spicy Aioli. It's pretty addicting...It's spicy but also just a tiny tiny bit sweet too. I actually put this on both the fries and burger and mannnn was that a fun time. I was super impressed with this place. Because I had such an experience with just the burger and fries, I definitely wanna try the BBQ to give a final assessment. But for now, this is a new hidden gem for me in town!

This is what I got for $111.00 !!! Rip off !!! I will never go back, I will drive to Buckhorn in Vacaville and get 3x the food !!!

Today was the first and last time coming here. The food is ok but $25 for 1 meat and 2 sides is just flat out a ripoff.

What are their open day/hours? I've tried to call at different times and never can get someone.

    Any good salad options?

They are currently testing some salad options, and providing samples to customers. I imagine it'll be on the menu soon as a side salad.

Hubby found this restaurant and so we drove to the place. First thing you'll notice once you enter the restaurant is the warm temp inside - no AC but they have electric fans going on. To the right is a long shelf with a variety grocery items while the table seating is laid out in the center. TV was tuned in to a channel playing a Filipino movie. This is a "turo-turo" style food ordering, meaning no table service instead you go to where the dishes are cooked in large portions (which is towards the back of the restaurant) and you choose which ones you want. We ordered: Pork Sinigang - a little too sour for me but this is a classic Filipino soup with pork ribs, vegetables, and tamarind broth. Bistek (beef steak) - thin slices of marinated beef before smothered in a deeply savory sauce and topped with golden-seared onions Pork Adobo - classic Filipino dish of pork simmered in vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic Kaldereta - goat meat stew I didn't try the kaldereta but all the other dishes were good and delicious. You will definitely feel the Filipino hospitality here. Street parking. Maraming salamat! Review #3929

This time around we decided a 6 page booklet with desserts, entrees, appetizers, etc. went for lunch and had a couple items on their seperate chef's specialties and lunch menu. We are family style and still had left overs for a table of 4. Salt & Pepper fish- yummmmm and great size portion for our table. Complex flavors that were more sophisticated from what you would find at a Chinese restaurant. I love salt & pepper fish and this one was well seasoned. Sautéed eggplant- I don't typically like eggplant cooked this way but I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. Chicken kebat- really good and went well with our crab fried rice. We had it made mild which went down well with all 4 of us. Crab fried rice- I wasn't a fan of the Tobiko because I felt like it took way from the fried rice. There were such huge chunks of crab visible in the dish but it was majorly overpowered by the chucnks. Mango sago- Delicious. I have to say I've never had mango sago like this with the blended mango and without coco de nato.

I would say it might have been due to my friend ordering a drink not realizing what she ordered and when brought to the table she set back instantly. I don't blame him, though he never showed his frustration, he came to the table maybe twice and we had to ask for our check through someone else. We decided to sit outside, close to edge of patio, beware their pits are behind the fences and ashes fly over fence. I had to cover my drink. We ordered: Burmese Chicken Wings 10/10- so worth the price even though you get like 4-5 wings. Garlic Noodles 10/10 - a perfect balance of garlic and flavor. The sauce gives more flavor Black Peeper Beef- 10/10 I love the meat was sliced thin and full of flavor. Honey Walnut Shrimp- 7/10 huge shrimp, I rate 7 because I am not a fan of seafood so probably much higher rating who eats seafood like that. A perfect sweetness and crunch from the walnuts. The server was great to offer to bring me hot sauce on the side since my friend was not a fan of spicy and if you ask for the hot sauce it is hot, say take in moderation to fit your spice level. I would definitely be back to try different things on the menu since it all looked so yummy.

We were greeted by a gentleman with a fun sense of humor - can't really explain it, but he made us smile. The place is small, but very welcoming. We were shown to a window booth, where we chatted a bit before we looked at the menu. The server came to take our order and we had barely even looked. She told us to take all the time we needed. Eventually, we made our decisions. My friend got one of the lunch combos - a chicken curry (she chose red curry, you can also choose green or yellow), and I don't remember what the other combo item was. But everything looked delightful on her plate! On our way into the restaurant, I spotted a sign with a lunch special on it - crispy chicken kao soi, a noodle dish, and it looked good, so that's what I requested. It was quite yummy! The best part was the deeply flavored sauce that the noodles were nestled into - I could put it in a cup and drink it, it was soooo good, lots of savory fish sauce and just enough spice to keep it interesting. Besides the noodles actually in the sauce, there were crispy fried noodles on top as well, adding a nice texture variety. The picture doesn't really do it justice. I was hungry and dove in before I remembered to take the photo, oops. The chicken was breaded and laid on top of the noodles in thin slices, very nice and crunchy. We had Thai hot tea with our lunch - not the sweet kind, but the nice clean-flavored hot tea. It went perfectly with our dishes. I don't know exactly when either of us will get back to Benicia again, but if and when we do, I hope we can stop by Pearl Thai again!

*** Vegetarian Review ***…read more None of their dishes have fish sauce so you don't get knocked over the head with the smell when you walk in. They remind me every time I order, but as a vegetarian, we've all had that fish smell delivered to us at a Thai restaurant at least once (probably twice, more likely three times) in our eating lifetimes. It is such a relief to not have to worry about that here. Would I Come Back? Yes, when I'm in town, I make it a point to come here. Did I mention they don't use fish sauce!? Parking is is incredibly easy so that's never an issue. It's a shared parking lot with many stores and other restaurants. I typically go on a Sunday for lunch, and even with a party of 5, I haven't had to wait for a table. Seating capacity is probably 45-50 guests so if you're planning a large party, definitely best to call ahead and make a reservation. The Food: Roti & Yellow Curry ($14, Grade A+): Fried roti with a yellow curry dipping sauce. It's a super savory dish, and honestly, I should have had you at "fried." If you're wondering what roti is, think of it as a buttery, flaky, pan-fried flatbread. It's large enough appetizer to share with 3 people, but you're pushing your luck with 4. Pad Thai with Fried Tofu ($16, Grade A): I've had this dish 5 times now. To be completely transparent, it's the exact reason why I can't give Pearl Thai a full 5-star rating, purely because of consistency. The first time I got it, it was perfect. The second and third times, it had no sauce and was dry. The fourth time, I asked them to make it saucy, and they obliged to an almost soupy level. For this fifth time, I just ordered it straight up and zipped my lip on any alterations. As they say, the fifth time was a charm! When it's made with the perfect amount of sauce, this dish is excellent. The noodles have that exact texture you look for in a pad thai, and the egg gets that great scorch from the wok for an added layer of flavor. Also, the tofu has been incredibly fresh every single time. It never tastes slightly spoiled, which happens a lot in smaller towns that don't heavily support plant-based diets where tofu just sits in a fridge eagerly awaiting someone to order it. Mixed Vegetables ($14, Grade A): Sautéed wood ear mushrooms and mixed vegetables in a garlic soy sauce. If you've ever had Pad Pak, you already know this flavor profile. I really enjoyed it, but next time I'll ask for no carrots and maybe half the garlic. Overall, it's a perfect dish that absolutely requires steamed rice to soak up all that great flavor. Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango ($8, Grade A): The classic dessert we see at all Thai restaurants, but they serve it with purple sticky rice, making it a visually yummy dish. It's plenty of food to share between two people. Bottom Line: The service here is great and very friendly. It's a small, local shop with "Best in Town" awards highlighted on the walls. The environment is clean, and the food is served hot and arrives at the table quick. One Last Word: Don't leave here without ordering the roti with yellow curry for an appetizer. Pure savory goodness!
