This review is for the Service Department. I had to take my 2010 Accord in for a recall and also to check a noise. Was very leery taking my car to the dealer as I have had prior poor dealings with dealerships. Saw that Tracy Honda was much higher rated that Honda dealers in Stockton, Lodi, or Modesto, so I took a chance. I was very happy with the service. Clean office, very friendly staff, and everything clearly explained. Everything fixed was done under Honda warranty, so I paid nothing. Went on a field ride with the mechanic to determine what the problem was; he found it and then fixed it. I would not hesitate to take my car back in for other repairs. read more

Bought a 2007 Mini Cooper S from Chad Watts. This guy made the entire experience zero-pressure and I truly felt he was out to get me the best deal on the best car. He was straight-forward and honest about what was possible while negotiating and knew quite a bit about auto mechanics and how each car stacked up. Only downside: the management acted like they really didn't care if they made a sale or not. They were largely indifferent which came off as rude. I took my car to Tracy Honda in April 2020 and May 2020. The service in April was flawless, no issues. I was shuttled home via Lyft while my car was being serviced. Then, I went back in May to get the AC serviced. I asked for a ride home after the lady next to me also asked for a ride home. To my surprise, I was told they no longer provide a shuttle or Lyft services. I told the service guy that this was a surprise to me since I was shuttled home last month. His response was that I didn't let him know when I called that I needed a ride home. I didn't have to do that any time before or the month previous. I do like the service at Tracy Honda, but I was very discouraged with his handling of this situation. So, make sure you have a ride home, if you need service at Tracy Honda, they don't ask you ahead of time. In addition, Lyft was going to take more than an hour to pick me up. The service guy also told me, sometimes Lyft doesn't even show up. Thank goodness that my friend was available last minute to pick me up. read more

She told me he is out till next Wednesday. I asked the receptionist who was filling in for him and she said nobody. Let me start off with my first experience. I bought a used vehicle from this place two years ago shortly after I bought my house and it was a great experience. The salesman & sales woman, and the finance guy were a pleasure to work with. The car was a 2015 Kia Optima Hybrid EX, but the engine just recently blew up on me a couple months ago. I bought the extended warranty which didn't cover the car since it was over the mileage. I still owed $11,600 at the time it blew up. I paid off most of it and was looking to buy a BRAND NEW 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring so I thought I'd go back to the place where I first bought my car. However, my first time coming back to Tracy Honda, a different sales person seemed uninterested in mine and my lady's business. Almost like we were an inconvenience to show cars to. I brushed it off since it was kind of later in the day, maybe they were just getting ready to close up for the day. Next time around, I come back earlier in the day, test drive a car that is almost what I'm looking for. It was a Platinum Pearl White with black interior. I actually wanted the ivory interior but was willing to settle with this one if we could work out a deal. Unfortunately, a bit of miscommunication happened as one day I talked to the salesman who gave me a quote and I told him I will be in touch after I get my finances in order as I still owed a little bit of money on the car that blew up. I let him know that I would still like to purchase this NEW HONDA. Over the course of the week, we had exchanged texts. He asked if there was anything he could help with... I told him if he could get me that car for X amount with the 5 year, 100K mile warranty, and 4 oil changes, I would bring a cashier's check and we'd have a deal. I wasn't even asking for the biggest warranty package but none the less, he assured me that we could get a deal worked out & all would be good. The day of the deal, I let him know that I'm coming in at this time with this amount and we should be all good to go. He tells me ok, I'll meet you there personally and we'll get it done. I get there and he's now fidgeting with his phone while we're waiting, I ask is everything ok? He said we had to wait for the finance guy who makes the decisions. It was at this point I felt like something was up. We asked if the car was washed and ready to go. He said no not yet. I told him look man, if this isn't all good, you should've let me know this morning when I told you I was coming with X amount. He again assured me it was all good and that we just have to wait for the finance guy. As we're waiting, he asks if he can make a copy of my check and I let him. But then he comes back to me with a piece of paper saying this is the amount of the car with all this extra nonsense we never discussed and now the price is like a few thousand more than what we discussed and a few thousand more than what I brought. So, I told him that's not what we discussed and that's not how we do business. If you'd like to sell me the car for what we have discussed, then we have a deal. Otherwise, I will take my check and get a car elsewhere. This is where they apologized for not being able to sell me this car for the discussed price. I said ok, I'll take my cashier's check and be on my way. Little did they know I already had a better deal for a BRAND NEW 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring elsewhere with the ivory leather interior that I originally wanted, the 6 year 125 K mile warranty, and 4 oil changes. I just wanted to give Tracy Honda the opportunity to make it right with me as a returning customer since they sold me a lemon that lasted only 2 years and I can't do anything with it but pay it off and either sell it for parts, donate it, or junk it. Not even 20 minutes after I left Tracy Honda, I received multiple calls and texts saying that they have an even better deal than before and even better than any deal I have lined up elsewhere. I told them respectfully, thank you but you should've brought that deal to the table when I brought my money to the table instead of letting me walk. I also let them know that Ken and Brenda (the owners) would've loved our continued business as my lady knows Brenda and she will also be looking to get a new car in the near future. Also I know many other people who love Hondas and I will be sure to recommend them to the Honda dealership that gave me A+ customer service, my car was washed and detailed by the time I arrived, there was no hidden costs. We recently purchased the 2018 Odyssey from this dealership. We worked with Mr. Gordon Gooch (Fleet/Internet mgr) to complete our purchase. He was able to get us this brand new vehicle in the color of our choice and at barely any miles on the odometer. He provided us with exemplary customer service throughout. His communication skills are very good and he kept us updated during the whole process. He would respond to texts quickly and was very transparent. I've been researching the best price for a commuter car for a few weeks. I'm finally ready to buy and I requested 3 dealership on Edmunds.com for the best price. James H. Tracy Honda doesn't send me the best price so I didn't reply to his texts, calls or emails but he is persistent. Finally a few days later I replied to a text asking for the best price on the 1 car I wanted to purchase but he proceeds to ask me questions about where I live before quoting me a price. I ask why, before offering any information, and he states their are different prices for the same vehicle for bay area buyers. I'm not from the bay area but refuse to buy a vehicle from a dealership that would sell the same vehicle for a different price given assumptions made about me! read more

I had an appointment for an oil change one week ago, when I received my inspection form on the day of my oil change, everything was green and I was told that everything passed inspection perfectly. Exactly ONE week later my car battery died and when I called the manager to make him aware of the fact that they had given me false information on my inspection form, all he said was "I really don't know what to tell you other than to get your battery checked." If you want the truth during your inspection, I don't recommend this place at all. I have been a loyal customer to Tracy Honda for years, but after this I will never be going back! read more

So I searched on-line and found serval options outside of my now hometown of Tracy. But hometown loyalty is very important to me and the loyalty I was given by the dealer matched my expectations. I wanted to make sure I had the same salesman as my in-laws, so I asked a staff member if they could look up the salesman name for me. The salesman was Russell. He was simply amazing, could not have been happier. He did not try to sell us a car, he worked with us every step of the way. Russell also knew what he was talking about. He talked at length and in depth about many of the features of the car, even showing us how to work those features. He was also very thorough with his part of the paperwork. Speaking of paperwork, our experience with the financial manager Sier was awesome. Again very pleasant and conversational and made what often can be rather intimidating somewhat easy. I've been complaining about issues with my brand new 2019 Honda Odyssey for over a year. It took about a year and many visits to the service center doing all the recalls and updates for them to try to replace a part in my entertainment system because by then I had a case open with Honda Customer Service and Honda finally sent out a letter about a known issue with the 2019 entertainment systems. Around the same time, my car wouldn't start multiple times so the battery was replaced. A few months go by and I still have cabin camera and audio/DVD player issues but not as bad as before. Then the car won't start without being jumped. We took it back in and they found no issues. Took the car home and the next day it had to be jumped several time again. Then it was good for a few days. Then the car stopped on me while running and stuck in drive-thru and had to be jumped (this happened two days in a row). We took it back to Honda and asked for a loaner car. My van stayed with them for about 4 days before they said they couldn't replicate anything and we had to take the van back. It smelled like serious BO and an hour after bringing it home it wouldn't start again when we went to go to the park! We took video for Honda then my husband jumped the car to go take it back and Honda refused to look at the car again. We said "OK, buy the car back if there are no issues" and they offered us $33K for a car valued at $38K! Not to mention they added 300 miles on it while it was with them and we should be getting a lot more for our car from them when Honda gave us a crap car. I've looked into BBB, Lemon Law, and a bunch of other things that are supposed to help consumers with bad cars and Honda isn't certified with any of them in California so they can't help. Honda does NOT back their cars or care about their customers. I've created a new case number with Honda Customer Service but who knows if I'll ever hear back from them. Do NOT buy HONDA and don't bother with this service center because they're not capable of checking out or much at all. read more

First time car buyer. Not exactly what I expected at all. Spoke to someone named Russel for a few months. He seemed really nice, and had the car I was looking for. Took a while to get to making a deal because of my hectic work schedule. When I was finally able to come in. I had a co signer, a down payment of more than 20% of the car. But I came out with nothing. I got stuck with some guy named Gorden. He definitely lost the sale. Told us my co signer had to be someone living with me and that it was a "Honda" thing. He made negative comments about his co worker being sick and missing work. Said, "He's probably at home because the Raiders lost." Yeah, my co signer/father in law is a Raiders fan. No brownie points there. And talking crap about your co workers to possible clients/customers is super unprofessional. Before talking in his office he mentioned me being able to get the car in a different color "easy". After we talked, he said I had to settle with what they had in stock. Prior to coming in I confirmed with Russel that it was okay to come in. And we could AT LEAST get something started. Nothing was done. Was a complete waste of time. Gorden was really rude and the customer service was non existent. Probably because he wasn't going to benefit from the sale in any way. Made up some bs about his son being a graduate from med school in Europe. Hah, funny. Points on that. I hope his son's bedside manner is an improvement compared to the dad's customer service skills. Anyway, when I told Russel I wasn't going to be coming back he asked what they did wrong (even though I called him on the drive home to tell him what went wrong; his response was "this is why I wanted to be there" and not "I'm sorry for the experience you had-"). Then had his manager call me. Look I know I'm a first time buyer, but I shouldn't feel bad for being one. So much for that new car buying experience. There's a reason why we bought all 4 of our family's Hondas from Tracy Honda. The team there was very attentive to what I wanted when purchasing my new CRV. When they couldn't find the exact trim and color, they were going to offer me another vehicle at the same price although it was worth $2k more. Eventually, they were able to get a dealer trade for my vehicle and have it delivered the next day! It was a long process, but the team was very accommodating throughout the day. The vehicle that was delivered had some accessories already installed, and Tracy Honda gave them to me for free. All our vehicles are still running and we get them serviced at Tracy Honda too. They lost one star because I felt that they were pressuring me to buy a different vehicle than the one I wanted.
