Overall - very pleasant sales experience with the staff (David and Trent) at Tracy Mazda. I found one of their Certified Pre-Owned vehicles online and was able to negotiate a reasonable price via email. There was no hesitation to provide details on the car, answer questions I had and provide inspections reports, carfax etc to help me as the buyer make an informed decision. When I showed up to the dealership - seeing the final price was already negotiated via email - simple test drive, paperwork and out the door. Finance team was quick and reasonable - offering additional options but not pushing them - additionally no surprise "dealer accessories". We did discover some damage to the vehicle during the test drive - and David/Trent were quick to acknowledge and negotiate some additional items to "make it right" for me the customer. My review solely reflects the "sales" team. For the record, I am in sales and it offends me that these people are allegedly in my line of work. Thankfully, hacks like this just make me look better. I saw an ad on cars.com and the same on craigslist, and thought I would drive down and see the car. First mistake. The prices didn't even match. Probably some sophomoric tracking device. Second was assuming that if I was on the up and up, these guys would afford me the same courtesy. Second mistake. I tried building rapport with this used car salesman (actually an apt title for once) and even that seemed to be gaining traction. Maybe car dealerships had been getting a bad rap for nothing all along. Nope. After some minor haggling...I mean like five minutes of him trying to confuse me with basic math like some okie, he walked into the back to "check with his sales manager" a la Fargo, or any other horrible sales movie cliche since...and came back to offer me not 10% under blue book, not 20, but 50%. Clean title, but because the car had been reported in an accident, they wanted to offer me 4k for a car selling all day long for 10. Obscene. Obscene to the point that I wasn't even mad. I had that calm separation that allowed me to simply say, "well, that's not even worth discussing. Thanks so much for your time...but that's just straight bs" and walk out. I had hoped perhaps that by heading to the sticks, I might avoid the standard shark tank of the "stealership" but alas, Tracy Mazda fit every stereotype from Used Cars to whatever that horrible Will Farrell movie you might expect. To be honest, I didn't think purchasing a car would be this easy! I have first been contacted by Nick Tan about the 6 three or four months ago, asking if he had any of the 2014 in inventory. Luckily, I had kept his contact information. I started pricing the car from Truecar website and got a few quotes and started the process. The Friday before Memorial day weekend, I was trying to schedule an appointment with Capitol Mazda but they didn't contact me back the entire business day. By that time, Nick had already replied back to me and offered me a better deal. It just goes to show you what type of sales team they have. They're eager to please. I wouldn't have enjoyed working with the lady from the other place. She definitely wasn't as easygoing or accommodating. Tracy and Capitol were the only 2 dealerships with the color and trim I wanted. After scheduling to meet with Nick at 10 (since it tends to get crazy around noon time), he was very attentive in making sure he'll have the car out front when I arrived, the one with the lower mileage. They had 2 on the lot. There were no haggling. However, there were some confusion with the finance department...not realizing I was going to finance, that I had down payment, and given me the higher APR. You just have to be on the ball on all that. Charles (I think it was), with whom I signed all the paperwork with (in Finance?), was very honest with his advice. You get a free oil change with your auto purchase. Once all the paperwork was done with, Nick was there to answer all my questions. He even helped me pair my phone with the bluetooth in the car! Without prompting either! He was incredibly knowledgeable. I appreciated the whole experience with their team. The entire process took about 2 hours! That included a test drive. Let's face it. Buying a car sucks. You usually have to deal with slimy car salesmen who try to pressure you, lie to you, and trick you with numbers. I had been shopping around for a new car and once I decided on a Mazda, I called several dealerships to try to negotiate the best purchase price. Neither Concord, Fremont, or Dublin could match the deal that Joe offered me at Tracy Mazda. Joe was honest and upfront with pricing as well and offered me a price that was below the vehicle hold-back number. He treated me with respect on the phone and I made the decision to go over there and meet him in person, and I am glad that I did. Joe is a special kind of person. He is not your typical car salesman. He is very honest and transparent, plus knowledgeable about his products. He was able to answer every single question I had about the car and responded to texts and phone calls after my purchase in full detail and very promptly. I ended up purchasing a 2016 Mazda Mazda 3 from him and couldn't have been happier with my purchase. I think the dealership could definitely be more organized and staffed better. While I was waiting to complete my transaction, Joe had to do more tasks than he should have, fielding incoming calls and dealing with other transactions. Management should work to address this problem, as I wanted Joe with me every step of the way. Joe met me in person on the 4th of July up in San Ramon to give me my spare key since they didn't have it at the time of purchase. Eight months ago I arrived at Mazda of tracy with a pre approved loan from my bank, I then selected a 2015 Mazda cx5 complete with a carfax report in addition to being a certified used car. I was delighted with my purchase and off I went. After the recent heavy rain it was found out that the car was defective, with respect to an improperly installed windshield prior to my purchase of the vehicle. The problem was being handled by G.M Bruce peters whose faulty word , first promising to reimburse for the tow and then deciding to not pay the $150 , this created a perfect trifecta the faulty vehicle and faulty service work. OMG!!!This is by far the best car buying experience I've ever had. Let me tell you Edward and Zamir made this experience so easy and painless. I'm in the process of rebuilding my credit so I was kind of skeptical about financing because I was afraid of getting denied. However, Edward told me to fill out the credit application and he would take it from there. I didn't put any hope in it since I was so use to getting denied, but lo and behold Edward called me to inform me that I had gotten approved and that I can come in the same day to fill out the documents and the Jeep would be all mines to drive off the lot. When I got there I was treated with excellent customer service. I brought all documents that were requested to make the process go smooth. I'd say it took no more than an hour and a half and I was driving off the lot in my brand new jeep. I bought my 2013 Mazda 3 Grand Touring Hatchback here in November of 2016. Before even buying the car, I called and told them I was very interested and they were kind enough to put it on hold for me. I ended up falling in love with the car and bought it that same day under no rush or pressure. They were clear and concise about throughout the paperwork. Financially so far I have had no problems with my car. I ended up going to Concord Mazda for services since it was closer to home. But I ended up coming to this location this weekend for new brakes and what not. They were very honest and clear with me. No sketchy behavior or twisting of information like Concord does. Also, they gave me a very clear report about what needed to be on my car. Concord Mazda also gave me one but with a list twice as long, and tried charging me for things that were covered for warranty or for things that were not even broken. I told Shannon working at services and she was kind enough to print out a highlighted report to keep with me that has my warranty and what is covered by it (I live in Santa Cruz now so I have this if I go to a shop out there and they try to be shady like Concord). The technician also made a new report about was is actually wrong with my car (Concord made an incorrect list) and Shannon gave me advice and how I should go about getting my car fixed. I feel very comfortable at this location and is worth the extra drive to get my car serviced here. Even if its just for an oil change. read more

I don't like car shopping, at least not in the US. Back to Mazda, we heard really great things about the CX-9 Signature. Our experience at Dublin Mazda was so terrible that we absolutely did not want to ever visit a Mazda dealership. But our friend convinced us to give Tracy Mazda a shot because according to him Tracy folks are far better than Dublin Mazda, and yes he was right. Our experience at Tracy Mazda was far superior! Of course there are both pros and cons. Starting with the pros: 1) Francisco was the salesman who assisted us. Most amazing car salesman we have come across. He was patient, let us decide what we liked and didn't like, was extremely knowledgable. His customer service skills were so good! We were quite delighted. 5+ stars for Francisco 2) They are not pushy al all. 5 stars for that 3) They have many different trims and models readily available on their lot unlike Dublin Mazda. They especially carry a good stock of highest level trims including the CX-9 Signature. 5 stars for that as well. Cons: 1) After getting super impressed with the amazing driving experience and the overall features of the CX-9 Signature as well as the excellent salesmanship, we decided to sit down at their office with Francisco and churn up some numbers. The shocker was that they wanted to charge us $4-$5k more than the MSRP listed on their website for the CX-9 Signature and that was a no go for us. 2) Zero negotiation. They had no interest in our business :( It's another story that this one tried to charge even more than MSRP, but most dealers try to quote a customer on MSRP - do not ever buy that. Dealers always go below MSRP without negotiation. Do not accept an MSRP quote even if you have all the money in the world, donate what you save to a charity instead or help the needy. If a dealer doesn't care about your business, walk out. The power ultimately is with you. Another advice - since this dealership likes to charge $4-$5k above MSRP, I would say instead of throwing your money, save that money and try to go to an Audi dealership. Audi is far better choice than Mazda any day. Livermore Audi gives extremely deep discounts on every model New or Used end of the month to start of the month. Overall, if you are looking for a great customer service experience, I would highly recommend Francisco. However, anyone contemplating driving all the way to Tracy from East Bay, think twice. This dealer charges more than MSRP and does not negotiate at all. Save on gas and drive to Audi instead or Lexus or Infiniti or whatever. And do your research beforehand to avoid haggling! read more

So this is an update to the last review I posted... So, as scheduled, I brought my car in on Monday (12/11/17) to get it cleaned and I had the assumption they were going to do a thorough cleaning of the vehicle as stated by Bruce who I believe is the Service Manager. Boy was I wrong. The service writer asked me what spots specifically that were dirtied and I pointed out the areas. Yes, they removed the dirty spots, Yes, they wiped down the dash, yes, they vacuumed the interior, and yes they did exactly what they said they were going to do. Here's where I say they should of done more to satisfy the customer. So like I said I was under the assumption that the car was going to be thoroughly cleaned by their detailing crew, well it wasn't. I'm not sure if that was what I wanted to hear or just unclear of what they meant by cleaning the car. Definitely a misunderstanding to the highest of degrees. The scuff marks on the windshield were not wiped off. There was a lot of armor all type interior cleaner that was streaked all over the front cabin of the vehicle. Again, I assumed that with "cleaning" the car I thought they were going to do a wash of the vehicle also, well, I was wrong on that too. The car was still as dirty as it was when I dropped it off. They literally just did the bare minimum to take care of the mess they made in the first place. I hate to be such a nit pick about these kind of things but when Mazda offers a service to repair something for free that's deemed necessary and covered under warranty, I expect them to treat my car as any other paying customer. When I found out what happened to my car after driving it off the lot after they replaced the dash, I wasn't an asshole about it and I spoke with the Service Manager Bruce and he offered to take care of the problem so I said okay, I'll take it in. Then, after one bad experience, I get another, and it just doesn't sit well with me. I don't know if there's just no communication with his team and what needed to be done to rectify my issue but clearly the outcome that I had in mind wasn't necessarily those of the servicing dept. and detailing crew. read more

We started the day at another Mazda dealership and the staff there were just plain aggressive and rude. We test drove a few cars because we really like pretty much all the Mazda range and wanted to finally decide whether to get a 3, 6 or cx-5. I'm not going to go into a huge amount of detail but suffice to say the impression we got by the end was that the staff simply wanted us to pick quickly and then hand over the cash as if a 25 to 30 thousand dollar purchase should be done quickly. Leaving, we saw another car online at Tracy and travelled there. There was such a contrast in service with absolutely no pressure and a fun/in depth test drive of the 3 series I ended up purchasing. If, and when I eventually either get a second Mazda or decide to upgrade my current model I will definitely be returning here even though it is a bit of a drive. read more

Stay away from Tracy Mazda. My family walked in on a Monday afternoon and it was empty with a few dealers in there. I said hi to joe, and when I asked him to show me a cx30, instead of taking me to all the vehicles that are out side he pointed at the one parked right there. He could care less. The I asked him about 0% apr deal that's going on on their website through the end of the month and Joe lies and said it's ending today. I can't trust a dealer who lies 30 seconds in to the interaction. We looked at the car and took our business to another Mazda as they didn't lie. Joe emailed me the next day, and was arguing with me that Mazda changed the deal even though it has been very clearly stated on the website it's available thru the end of the month. DONT come here, go to Mazda concord or Dublin. They're better, honest & don't lie to your face right of the bat to make a sale they're not interested in and then argue with you over email.
