Dear Tracy Toyota. We are never ever ever getting back together and I'll tell you why. We are a Toyota family. My husband and his cousin/business partner always buy everything in the same places. Had new homes built by the same builder. Both buy their cars from Tracy Toyota etc... In the last couple of years they have between them bought 3 new Toyota cars from Tracy Toyota so when it was time for me to get a new car of course we went to Tracy Toyota first. They had in the past given us great deals on our cars but not this time. Not even one price incentive or rebate offer what so ever. We were not opposed to paying full market price for a pearl white red leather interior Camry XSE but if we had to do that we wanted to wait for the new 2020 ones to pick from instead of the 19s because the year is now half over. But the sales associate told me that there would be a much better chance of getting a rebate or price incentive on a 19 instead of the 20s when they first come out so that was the reason we were interested in a lovely 2019 XSE pearl white with red leather interior they had just got in. They said its a "in demand" style that won't last and not very many of. Same standard sales pitch you always expect from Car sales people. Any way my husband expected the same above and beyond treatment from them he had always gotten before when he talked to them about the car on the evening of wed. June 26 but they did not even try one little bit to come down from full market price what so ever. Not even so much as some free accessories offer. Nothing at all. Perhaps there was someone else interested in paying full market price for it that evening? If so they did not mention that to us or had they done so we might have understood their attitude. They even tried the day before when I was in to get me to put money down to "hold" the car so no one would buy it until I could get my husband in to negotiate with them for it. My husband refused to pay full market price with no rebate or price incentive what so ever so the deal did not happen. But that only made my husband more determined so he called Toyota in Livermore and made an appointment for the very next day to negotiate for the very same model Camry which they said they could have for us to pick up in not more than 2 days. We made the deal and got the car for over 3 thousand less than what Tracy Toyota tried to sell us the car for. And that included all the accessories I added for it. It is the exact same color and model XSE Camry that Tracy had with all the same extras and upgrades and other accessories I chose for it while at the Livermore Dealership and red leather interior that Tracy claimed was "very hard to come by" and "in great demand". We have credit scores in the 800s and good down payment money and a nice trade in so we are a sure thing when we want to buy a car but my husband needs to feel good about a car sale and he will never buy from a dealer where negotiating price points are not allowed to happen as was the case this time with Tracy Toyota. And I called Tracy Toyota the very next day after the sale negotiation for this car failed between them and my husband and asked for the general manager to return my call because I wanted to speak with him about other things that bothered me about that evening but the associate that took my call said all managers were in a meeting and asked what I needed and I told her it was about an incident that happened the night before and I preferred to speak with the general manager about it. She said she would give him my number and message and he would return my call. He did not even bother to return my call to speak to me and that was BEFORE my husband made an appointment with Toyota Livermore. This shows me that neither he or any of his team cared one bit about helping the sale to happen or the fact that we have been loyal customers in the past that has brought them good business. The Tracy Toyota staff need to understand a very important point if they want customer return and loyalty. It's not only about loosing a sale or gambling that some other person might come through the door and be willing to buy that car at full market price. It's also about being loyal to customers who have always been loyal to you and treating them with respect. The over all difference I witnessed from the staff at Toyota Livermore from the Staff at Toyota Tracy was like night and day. Much more organized and professional sales and management associates who really take time to show you every single detail about the entire sale process. We were very impressed and felt good about every part of our car buying experience. I especially liked how the young people there handled my husband who can be a tough negotiator. They were so polite and patient and worked their hearts out to please us. This is why from now on our loyalty will be with them first and no longer with Tracy Toyota when it comes to our car buying needs. read more

I always take my vehicles to Livermore Toyota and my husband told me to try local instead of driving over the hill. Well I regret it Tracy Toyota is nothing compared to Livermore. The set up to help the customer with a smooth experience is so different. The person who checks in my car is not the same person as the advisor who is at the desk. You don't have to wait and keep pulling forward to be assisted. Once an advisor was available he then came out to assist me with the drop off of my vehicle. They use cones to keep track of which car arrived first and actually reorganize the cones on the cars once a car is taken away (such waisted time). When I came back to pickup my car there was only one gal at her desk. She was doing paperwork and told me I'll be right with you. I waited as she then picked up the phone from the parts dept. Another customer who was dropping off her car (came inside as no one was outside to assist her) stood in front of the same advisor who was on the phone. The advisor then completes her call runs some paperwork to the back and comes back to assist the customer who is dropping off her car and still leaves me standing there. Another advisor comes out from the back and at this point there is another customer waiting with me and instead of asking who is next tries to assist the customer behind me..... so very unorganized and I am sure with the proper management working with these advisors and a clearer set up of the maintenance dept this could actually be a much better dept that I'd be happy to come to. read more

I can see why they have bad reviews. We got in an accident and needed to buy a new (used) car ASAP. We LOVE our Toyota Tacoma and Toyota in general so we went to Tracy Toyota. The car they sold us is a nice Rav with warranty. We got it home and went to take a drive and the battery was DEAD. BOW One month of owning it our breaks are squeaking and grinding! And they won't fix it. They sold us a lemon. All the brakes and pads need replacing. Oh and they charged us to fix our headlight when they did the breaks and guess what is still out!! However, when it came to financing the car, the finance officer that drafted up the contract, Raymond, did not disclose how much the "added" perks were going to be. When he got confronted AFTER the car was purchased he pointed the finger to Samantha. Yes Samantha sold us the car, but it was HIS job to go over the complete contract. I will be filing a BBB & Consumers Affair against them. My advise is to make sure you know exactly what you are purchasing, toyota sales reps are know for adding on optional packages to the car being financed with out you even asking. i.e. dent pro, extended warranty, etc. They will present you with an estimated monthly payment for X amount of months and never disclose what is exactly calculated in that monthly payment. read more

Don't go here if you want to deal with dishonesty about damage and overpriced quotes. The lady helping me over the phone was super nice-- the only positive to my experience. I took my car in today, which I bought from this dealership. I have had a slow leak to my tire for a couple weeks, and figured there was something I couldn't see in my tire. I took it to Tracy Toyota to get it evaluated / repaired and they called me back with a quote for over $450 for one tire, which they said was NOT REPAIRABLE due to the placement of a nail in my tire being on "the sidewall" of the tire-- Hence the high quote for a new tire. We told them no, and we went to americas tires down the street. Not only did they give us a quote for the tire we needed (if needed replaced) at less than $250, but the tire was easily patched and replaced and we were told that the nail in the tire was very small and NOT in or even close to sidewall of the tire. Tracy Toyota also quoted $50 if the tire needed patched, and America's tires did it completely free and the tires originally weren't even purchased from them. Sounds like Toyota likes to scam people not only out of their money but they are completely dishonest about the whole thing. Lost my business forever. read more

Found same service at another dealer for less $200. Picked up truck, was harassed by picket line. Service guy was rude again. Indifferent, rushed, and uncaring. Staff was stressed out. Do NOT go here!!! Waiting is ridiculous and these people are a rip off!! They quoted you something claiming it's a discounted price and charged you more. They do a very poor dirty job on oil changes. There will be old oil mixed with the new ones. The color is never clear and they have oil marks all over your engine. What bothered me most is, how little oil was used. I'd check my oil after every oil change and Toyota uses the least. I honestly do not think they've ever added a full 5 quarts like what I've paid for. Since going to Toyota, my engine oil will light up within 2-3 months every time which is unusual. They intentionally do this so you'll get constant oil change and continue paying them more. The customer service is horrible. I called to get an explanation of why my car is indicating that it requires maintenance and my call was answered by a cashier who knew nothing about car maintenance schedules. I was told that I need to call back on the following day to speak to a service representative because they were too busy to take my call. Also I feel like I'm they are nickel and diming me with maintenance. All of the current maintenance coming due for my car adds up to about a thousand dollars. I believe in maintaining your car but a thousand dollars in maintainence is a little absurd. read more

Watch out for the servicing and trying to overcharge you for work. A couple of years ago I needed my front driver headlight bulb changed and quoted me around 260$ to change it! Due to having to remove the side panel.. I said no thank you and went to an auto store bought the bulb and changed it myself without removing anything. Cost me $17. Took my 2014 Highlander there because my rear liftgate (trunk) wouldn't open automatically. They quoted me $2000. Pretty much wanted to replace the whole rear door. Charged me $180 for the diagnostics. We said no thanks. Asked for a cheaper option. They said if we didn't want to do that way, they couldn't help. Went home, hubby and I googled issues with Highlander liftgate. Found out the struts are a common problem. Found a utube video about how to replace them. Brought them on Amazon for $250. Our 2016 Toyota Camry's front lower engine covers located at the bottom of the vehicle, had become loose. When parking, the front covers would scrape, when driving out of a lot they would scrape. Finally they came off on the freeway and could have killed both my wife and I. Not being dramatic, the front bumper was actually at the point of falling off due to the connectivity to the lower covers. This is a design flaw in the 2016 Toyota Camry's front end. I duct taped the bumper and brought the car to Tracy Toyota. Edward, the service clerk, was very nice, helpful and listened to me complain about this design flaw. We got the front end under covers replaced but I could not afford the bumper replacement which actually cost us $1130. Once I brought it back, the Toyota mechanics added the new bumper and we were off. Stuck with a big bill that I do not think we should have paid. Ronnie Lott, please take a look at your reports on 2016 Camry's frond end's getting damaged because they are too low. This causes compromise to the entire front end and is very costly. This is a 2016, 5 years old and already has a new bumper. Very disappointed in this design. Even scraped my new covers last week, just driving like an old man. I bought my 2000 Toyota mini-van with you guys and had no problems. I hope this is not an indication of product integrity. Kudos again to Edward and the Toyota mechanics, they are always great to work with. Again, this is a design issue not a service issue. First let me start off by saying this is probably the worst dealership I've ever been to for service. First of all we get there at 7:12 AM where the fourth in line for the non-appointment line. Now let me be clear I understand that I did not have an appointment but in no way shape shape or form should it take 40 minutes to register for an oil change and tire rotation. There were five people hanging out front and switching numbers on the tops of the cars as they were processed. But that's all they did when you asked them for help or when someone's coming the responses I'm not the service manager you'll have to wait until the service manager comes out. They have two service manager is working and five nimrods standing around out front . Finally we're at the front of the line and they proceed to take the car behind us and I lose my crap. We're upset we finally get someone to listen he tells us to go inside then we listen to the dumb service manager tell us everything that we need even though we specifically asked I only want to oil change and tire rotation. Which without a coupon is $91!!! What the actual hell? Are they filling the car with liquid gold? Then he proceeds to tell me are you waiting here for your car are you freaking kidding me I just waited 15 minutes to get my cars Paperwork done with you do you think I've got another four hours to spare? Absolutely the BIGGEST RIP OFF PLACE AROUND . People if they charge you $91 for oil change and tire rotation just think of the mark up that they're doing on the cars that they're selling on the Lot!!! After 2 1/2 hours service manager calls and says it's time to pick up the car and here's the Kicker ....are you ready for this ? In the recommended section they recommend that I get a new front brakes and rotors and back brakes as well. Newsflash I got brand new brakes and rotors all around my car at Les Schwab in January of this year I've driven 14,000 miles in a year. I took My car back to Les Schwab and they confirm nothing is wrong with my brakes I have a bearing that needs to be replaced and that's all. So Tracy Toyota service department are scamming their customers into replacing things that aren't even bad !! This is not over Tracy Toyota not by a long shot!! read more

Being from the Bay Area and calling and scheduling appointments to multiple other Toyota Dealerships and getting the run around or the bait in switch it was a breath of fresh air to work with Tracy Toyota and Gabriel C. I called in to see if the car was still available and spoke to him and we figured out the price over the phone. It was near closing time that day and we said we would drive out there the next morning to purchase the car. We got there the next day the process was as seamless as possible. We ended up trading in our car (not planned) but we got good value from the dealership. Gabriel was quick efficient and got us through the process/finance quickly. Had a great experience buying a car yesterday. We were helped by Miriam on the Phone/Internet (via TrueCar contact) and for a test drive, Samantha for the sale of the car, and Robbie for the financing. A couple things factored into my situation that may not apply to most sales. In my favor, I could've paid cash, and I was already pre-qualified with a great interest rate from my credit union. So there wasn't really any pressure that could be put on me on the financing end. On the other hand, the Rav4 Hybrid is in extremely low supply with a high demand, so it wasn't like we could go to any other dealer. We drove about 100 miles to get this one. So it went both ways. All in all, from the dealings in email, then phone, and then at the store, it was a great car-buying experience. read more

One can only wonder what type of care they are taking with your car. I came in a few months ago and paid almost $300 to have my bumper repaired. They did a halfassed job and you can tell where it isn't entirely connected. I have been fortunate enough to work with friendly service reps... I would give less than one star if it was an option. We had a great experience through the process. We trusted this dealer to take care of us. I know we were buying a used car however we were taken advantage of by this business. One week after buying this car the transmission went out. We contacted the manager about the issue and ww were brushed off as if it wasn't their problem. We were told the car was inspected and it was in perfect condition. For a big company to not even give us the time of day is so sad. We bought from this company thinking we would get a reliable car because of all the inspections that Toyota puts their cars through. We were sadly mistaken unfortunately. The company is shady and anyone going to buy a used car from them should be aware of what they are getting themselves into. My car was due for a 10,000-mile oil change and i will never go back here. They told me that it would take 2.5 hours just to get that done because at lunch time everyone stops and goes to lunch. I am sorry but we just do not have that kind of time to hang around and wait for just an oil change. Additionally, what surprised me is that the advisor got mad with me and started to lecture me about service rather than try to convince me to stay. The wire was jammed so when i attempted to remove it, the wire just tore off.
