They honored the price, although they were asking me who told me that price and went on and on about it... Saying only customers were sent this offer...Thought I was a customer?Wow..."CUSTOMER SERVICE" lacking... waited 25 minutes in car for advisor to sign me in... crazy system they have... Anyway, was called they could not rotate tires not up to toyota safety standards... hmmm! Of course they attached 4 quotes for "NEW" tires as they are having a tire sale! Directly after picking up the car went to Les Schwabb, as this is where tires were bought... they inspected them...NO TIRE NEEDED! Plenty of tread no wear mark even showing! Nov 15th dropped off vehicle to Tracy Toyota for airbag recall at approx. 5pm and asked to also check shifter. Was a little difficult to put back in park, thought mechanism might be broken? Nov 16th at 8:41am received call from Kyle Riley (Service Tech) that the recall was complete and the shift mechanism repair would be $815.00, he also informed me that front left and right CV Boots were leaking fluid and needed to be repaired at a cost of $915.00 and also informed me that the timing belt and water pump should be changed due to my mileage on vehicle at a cost of $1,256.00 for a grand total of $2,986.00. He told me that the recall was fine and that they did not need to do any repair for the recall. I told him please do not perform any of the other repair work and I will be by later. Not sure why they checked the CV Boots and water pump/timing belt because I never requested that work. I left after work (4pm) to return loaner car and pick up my vehicle. I arrived to Tracy Toyota at approx. 5:15pm to a darkened service lot, which was odd because they close at 6pm. I approached door and it had a note that they closed early due to poor air quality. I never received a phone call, text, or email that they were closing early which I thought was very unprofessional especially since I had spoken to Kyle and told him I would be in after work to pick up my vehicle. I then returned Saturday Nov 17th at 7:15am to be ready for 7:30am opening. After turning in the loaner car the cashier then informed me that I had a balance of $150.00 due. I asked why was there a fee, the recall should have been covered. She informed me for the diagnostics work, that was their rate. I mentioned to her that I was not made aware of a fee for this and I also never asked to have the other items checked. I also mentioned the inconvenience they caused me by closing early and not notifying me of that, and I should not have to pay for that. She said she would talk to the service manager. When she returned she informed me that they applied a discount of $7.50 off of the $150.00 which left a balance of $142.50. I was furious at that point. I paid the money so I could get my car back and told her I would be filing a claim with Toyota. Nov 19th I called Toyota HQ and filed a grievance with them. I was told that in approx. 2 days I would receive a call from Tracy Toyota Customer Relations Dept to resolve my issue. That evening at 7:15pm I received a call from Cynthia Tyler at Tracy Toyota Relations Dept and she took down some info and told me she would return my call the next day Nov 20th no later than 12:30pm with an answer. I never received a return call Nov 20th. Nov 21st I took my vehicle to Wheel Works for an alignment and asked them to please check the front left and right CV Boots. I picked up my vehicle that afternoon approx. 5:30pm and was told the CV Boots were fine and DID NOT NEED to be replaced. I also had called Tracy Toyota and left a voicemail at approx. 5pm with Cynthia, no response. Nov 26th I called Tracy Toyota left voicemail 8am for Cynthia and again at 11:15am, by end of day I never did receive a return call. I then left work at 4pm and drove directly to Tracy Toyota and asked for Cynthia which resulted in talking with her in her office. I mentioned that in addition to my original complaint that I had a 2nd estimate done about the CV Boots and told her Wheel Works said they are fine and also complained about the lack of communication on her part seeing that she is the Customer Relations Contact. I told her on Nov 20th I had received another recall notice for the airbag and that I called the number on the postcard. Apparently Toyota is supposed to contact the Recall Dept and let them know the work was completed and to remove my vehicle from the recall list. I also told her that back in 2016 Toyota Dublin had done a recall repair for the same issue. She looked in her system and pulled up my vehicle and sure enough that repair had been completed and if the Service Tech Kyle had looked in the system he would have seen that my vehicle did not need the service. Which would have avoided all of this to begin with. Cynthia told me she was updating my complaint and the lack of research Kyle had done and was going to speak with the service manager about refunding my money, could I please wait. She returned after about 10 minutes and informed me the service manager declined my request. If I wanted to have the shifter repaired he would apply the $142.50 towards that repair of $815.00, which I politely declined their offer and told them I would never be back for service at their dealership. Especially after the poor service I received originally and the fact they quoted repairs that did not need to be done. I then called USAA Nov 26th at approx. 5:15pm and filed a dispute of charge for the incident. Seems silly on Toyota's part to lose a customer over a $142.50 dispute. One star is too many. I've had two bad experiences with this dealer. Both cost them their sales of 2 vehicles. Both have been with the same salesman. In the beginning of 2018 I was looking to purchase a Prius. Salesman had very little interest in helping and knowledge of vehicles was not great. Ended up going to livermore Toyota. Had superb customer service and beat their price. Ended up buying from them. Now come 10/13 I came in interested in a few models but in particular a rav4. I looked online prior to heading to the dealer so I knew the price range and some model differences. I arrive and it's the same salesman that wasn't very interested to help me during my last dealer visit. I didn't mind because he could of just been having a bad day the previous time, but was I wrong. I get there and he shows me their top of the line model and I ask him if it has a cvt (which is a type of transmission). He replies "No that's Honda, this has vvti"(vvti has nothing to do with the transmission so he couldn't even answer my question correctly. Some Toyota models have a cvt transmission and some don't). I nearly left at that point but I still wanted to check out the 3 $23,000 after rebate rav4's they had listed online. I asked him if they had any of them left with the specific color they were and he immediately said no. I thought it was a little weird that he didn't even bother to look up their stock but just said no. So while I walked around looking at their other models I called the dealer by phone to where another salesman picked up and I gave him the stock numbers and he told me they had them in stock. He asked for my name and number so he can get me in but I told him I was already on the premises with another salesman and he was telling me they didn't have them in stock. He freaked out and started mumbling and hung up on me. More terrible customer service. I approached the salesman that was originally helping me once again and told him I had just called in and they told me they were in stock. I found it pretty bad that I had to basically check their inventory for them. To not drag this on much longer he didn't even have knowledge on Toyota's current rebate on rav4's. He kept on insisting that the $2,500 off was if I paid cash, which was not true. The customer service drove me off and I immediately called over to livermore Toyota. Very bad customer service today. I see why the ratings are low. I stopped coming here when they were finding a mysterious list of things wrong and other places did not. Today I had a low tire pressure signal on my Highlander. It took about 30 minutes for a service advisor to come help me although there were advisors helping people who came before me. A couple of them even walked up to my husband parked on the side asking if he needed help before they did for me! When it was time to pick up my car later, it was never explained what happened to my car until I actually asked what happened! Also when I went to the cash register, the lady told me they'll be pulling your car up. I waited for 10 minutes watching guys pulling up people's car-except mine! Kind of my fault too that I realized I was holding my own key so no one could "drive up my car". I walked around the parking lot and found it. When I walked in my car, the dirty mat was still in there along with the plastic cover seats that the mechanics are supposed to take out. Ew! I'll be going back to Dublin Toyota near my job. This was the easiest and BEST car buying experience I have ever had. From the GM, Steve Haworth to the Sales Manager Landon Cotton, this was easy, fast and very efficient. There were also several calls / emails from the service department and customer service to book my first service in six months. DON'T even waste you're time at this place. My wife and I have been thinking about getting a 2018 sienna and she found what we thought was a deal on the car guru site. Since we are in Los Angeles and the car is a couple of hundred miles away on 8/15/18 I reached out to see if the details were correct and it's still in stock. I got connected with a salesperson by the name of Deborah and she said she would check and get back with me. The listed price was 28k. She called me back a couple of hours later and said it was posted by mistake because that's a loaner car and not for sale. Today 8/22/18 I received a text message asking if we are still looking for a van. I replied yes send me pics and the details. year, miles and asking price. Decided to buy a vehicle here without knowing the history of the place or yelping the dealership. Boy that was a mistake! The lady who helped me was very friendly and nice. Wanted me to buy buy buy. I decided early on that I wanted the vehicle and got the okay from the wife. Little did I know everything was going to be a hassle from there on out. First off the whole financing process seemed to go really easy and I was getting scared already. Never mind that it took like a couple of hours to finalize everything. I well aware that would happen. Well, I spoke with the finance director, he ASSured me that everything was good to go and next thing I know I am driving home in my new car! 10 days later I get a call from said finance director that he needed to speak to me about my income. I sent him an e-mail asking him what it is he needed. He needed to verify my income and I gave him that information. Next thing I know I'm getting a letter stating that a rescind of offer. Meaning that the original offer needed to be renegotiated. I knew better than listening to that guy and did my own research. I found out that he was past the seller's right to cancel (10 days) and gave him that information because he wanted me to come in a redo the contract. I told him I wasn't going to do that and basically he got mad and threatened me. He told me I had to give back the car if I didn't want to renegotiate the contract. I also called him out on the 10 days and he said he was in the clear because he sent the notice on the 9th day. Well he was wrong. The finance director ran my credit (hard inquiries) like 12 times. It was ridiculous! I had to ask them where to send my first payment because no one was getting back to me via e-mail answering my question. I finally got a letter stating where to send my payment and that Toyota would be the ones who will be financing my purchase. Now my credit has suffered due to the hard inquiries and I have a hunch that the service I am trying to get on my vehicle through the dealership is being thwarted due to the issues I have stated above. I am trying to get my brakes checked because they are squeaking. I informed the service writer that I recently bought the vehicle 56 days ago, nearly 2 months. The service writer states that it is due to wear and tear and the general manager will not have my warranty cover the brakes. I don't know what they think but I know brakes don't wear out that fast. I've tried to call twice before, no one returned my call. Filled out an internet request for service, that went unanswered. Now fourth times the charm and I'm dropping off the car monday morning to get my fog light installed (was broken when I bought the vehicle and the dealership gave me a pass on that and bought a new one). The service writer had mentioned that they will clean off the brakes to see if that clears up the issue but insisted they will not cover my brakes. I say otherwise. I will be taking my issue all the way to corporate to vent my complaints on this dealership. I recommend if you must buy from this dealership make sure your credit check and financing go through immediately and have them do that paperwork right then and there. I've contacted a lawyer on this issue and the lawyer has stated it is quite a common practice and the finance director at Tracy Toyota practices it. I don't know if I am going to have my car further serviced at Tracy Toyota after Monday because I know I am going to have quite an experience with them. It'll take some excellent out of this world customer service to convince me to stay with them so we'll see. read more

This review is for the service department only. TAKE YOUR SERVICE AND REPAIR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Believe the fact that they have more 1 star reviews than all others added together. Do not take your car to this dealership for repair. They are a hot mess! The short story is: I had to bring my car back to have them fix a cutch job that they botched, and they provided the worst customer service I have ever received from a franchise dealership and they returned my car with parts they forgot to put back in the footwell of my car! AGAIN!! Don't let them near your car! The Long story: They replaced the clutch in January (they told the previous owner that the clutch was causing an intermittent hesitation problem he was having during acceleration. This is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard) $1600 later the problem was still there and a terrible rattle and bang noise was added. Inspection determined that their technician failed to bolt a transmission mount back on and the engine and transmission were banging against the subframe! I also noticed the reverse lights were not working. I thought maybe they forgot something else too... I took the car back to them, at 7:30 am Friday morning. I got no call or update until nearly noon on Saturday. They said they forgot to bolt a transmission mount back up. Sorry. But the reverse lights needed a new switch. He said I could pick up the car and he would order the $50 switch for me. No offer to install the switch to say sorry for screwing up the job in the first place. Rick said there would be no charge. I arrived and they wanted to charge me for the switch, in advance, which they didn't even have! I told them I did not want the switch. They called for a manager three times to change it. I waited about 20 minutes!! No manager. Another woman came by and said she'd fix it but she needed to reprint the paperwork. Another 15 minutes!! I'm handed my keys by the cashier and she stares blankly at me. I ask where my car is and she says, "It's parked out front somewhere... You'll find it." WOW! I walk around 3 of the four sides of the building before heading back. A nice young man sees the steam coming out of my ears, takes my keys and finds my car. When I get home I notice the large black plastic battery cover in on the floor inside my car. THEY FORGOT TO FINISH THE JOB AGAIN!! My car is also filthy. I worked as a mechanic and I owned a business. When you botch a $1600 repair job that didn't fix the problem you said it would, and make someone listen to a terrible noise for three months. You need to bend over backwards to make it right. Don't blow that customer off and BOTCH the repair of the botched repair. Disgusting. read more

Don't get your car serviced here. Complete rip off, bait and switch scheme going on. I made an 11 am service appointment for a $49.95 oil change and complete maintenance special with tire rotation on their website. I sent my husband in to take the car to the appointment (not anticipating them to change the cost when he got there) so unfortunately I didn't tell him that I was quoted $49 online. So when he gets there and tells the gentleman there that he's here for the scheduled appointment, the guy there tells him the appointment is $500 plus!? My husband says he needs to call his wife (knowing I wasn't trying to spend $500). The guy there then says, oh wait I can do it for $162... Now making my husband feel as if he got some sort of deal. Little did my husband know that they have the $49.95 deal online that I already got quoted for. The only difference between the $49.95 and the $162 is that they made a recommendation to change our air filters. I was completely shocked and upset when my husband came home with a $170 receipt after tax. What a complete rip off. I will NEVER service my car there again. That's unethical business practices. I have a Toyota Yaris that I used to take to Tracy Toyota for service. On my first trip, the mechanics left a mess in my car On my second trip, the mechanics forgot to tighten something and my car rattled for weeks. On my third and final trip, the mechanics forgot to reset the "Check Engine" light after servicing the vehicle. Sure, these are small things. After the test drive, we went inside to discuss numbers. He didnt ask me to fill out anything so he couldn't possibly know my credit history. Goes talks to the finance guy, comes back and tells me they want $5000 down with my trade in (which current loan i will have credits due back for the amount they give me) and me pay $899/mo for 72 MONTHS!!!! David says "oh thats about $50k". LIES!!!! (that's over $69,000!!) Are you kidding me? You want me to pay $69k for a 4runner? You are out of your mind!! Be aware of the Internet Manager (David Ferraro) since he lied strait to my face and via email as well. This guy made us drive all the way to Tracy from Berkeley promising a vehicle that didn't even exist, and stating that the price submitted by him via email (I have all the records) couldn't be honored since that was not what he meant to write....Yes was that bad. When buying our corrola a few years back, we included the Platinum Service Plan in our purchase price - allowing us the "opportunity to take advantage of the first class customer care". Hah! At the time, they just built a speedy oil change facility and included a car wash with all oil changes. Well, this has all changed. Now - no car wash. No - no speedy oil change. In fact, today, when I went to get my oil change - they said the next appointment they had was on Monday. This is not service - and there has never been any care. They inflate their prices on "out of platinum plan" repairs and inspections. I do my best to take my business to local businesses. I've met the owners and we share friends - so a word for these local businessmen - focus on improving the care of your customers. read more

After leaving the nightmare at Livermore Toyota, I made my way to Tracy Toyota to meet Samantha. I was greeted with a smile by a salesman on the lot. When I told him I was to meet Samantha, he said she was inside and thanked me for coming to their dealership. Samantha already had the car I wanted ready to show. As I sat in the car playing around with all the features, she flawlessly explained what the features were and how to operate them. When I asked her if the car had Android Auto, she smiled and said yes it had both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. She knew this because she had an Android phone. I fell in love with car and moved forward with the trade. They gave me the actual KBB value, and worked the numbers, interest and length of financing terms in order to make it work for me. She even gave me a bottle of water! Seems like a small gesture, but with it being 100 degrees out, it was greatly appreciated. When sent to the finance department, I was a bit worried with all the upcoming paperwork. But he was so easy to talk to and made the experience a lighthearted event. I can't say enough great things about the dealership and staff as a whole. In the end they earned my business, my car, my money, and my future referrals to them. I made an appointment to have my 2009 serviced here. I needed a full diagnostic and oil change as I just purchased the car. The young men outside were very professional and everything went well until I went into the office to speak with a Service Writer. I went in and there were several gentlemen behind the counter. After waiting a few minutes, and keep in mind that there were no other customers, Mingo finally told me that they would be with me shortly. I wait a few more minutes and still no help. A customer came in, looked at me and I just shrugged, still waiting to be helped. The Service Writer all the way at the end finally saw me (his view was blocked) and asked if I'd been helped. I told him that I hadn't and he helped me. His name was Ollie and he did a fantastic job. He was very kind and answered my questions. He could not have been more professional. If it was just about him, I would have given Tracy Toyota five stars. Mingo ended up taking the customer that came in after me and banged away on his keyboard and was just awful. Even the customer that he was helping commented on it. The customer seemed to know the person in the office behind the Service Writers, as he referred to him by name and poked his head in to chat. My appointment was at twelve and at three o'clock my car was ready. It seemed like an excessively long time but I was just glad to be done. Update: I brought my car to Modesto Toyota today for an oil change and asked them if they could look up my visit to Tracy Toyota to confirm my 120,000 service. Tracy Toyota only did an oil change on my car although I paid nearly $200.00 for the service. What a terrible experience. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to have a very efficient, friendly, and fast experience this week at Tracy Toyota while looking for a used car with my daughter. Our sales person, Kahlil, was knowledgeable and did not pull the heavy sales pitches with us. He was patient and pleasant. We found a great deal so we got the information and told them we'd be back the next day. Of course they didn't want us to leave without making a deal, but they understood the homework I wanted to do with my daughter before jumping to buy something quickly without procesdi. The sales manager KIP was also very nice. Went back the next day with our deal, they took it, and all the paperwork went very smoothly for both my daughter and me. We also got an excellent interest rate with her loan (her status as student driver and my credit score helped that along) I was so happy my daughter was able to find a good, reliable, affordable used car here. My brother has work for Toyota corporate for over 25 years so I trust the name, the brand, the service. Going in with experience helped, but having the team there that was very customer service oriented made this experience much more enjoyable than I could've hoped for. Thanks guys! This is the first time I've ever spent more than 2 1/2 hrs for service at a dealership(i spent 4hrs there). To top it off i wasn't being updated on my status of my vehicle. I mentioned that I was interested in finding out if it had been in a significant accident and if the remaining warranty would be respected. Three hundred dollars later they told me everything was perfect with the car and there was no reason to worry. Fast forward a couple of months later when I brought the car into City Toyota for some maintenance, without an inspection they told me that the front end of the car had been significantly rebuilt and Toyota would not respect the warranty. Horrible negligence here. I contacted them several times at least trying to get a refund and only got an apology. read more

Had to have my Prius towed in to get an engine issue fixed by the service department. Usually I avoid dealers like the plague from past experiences with feeling like I was getting shafted. My service advisor Naider was super awesome! He was the most friendly and knowledgeable service advisor that I've ever experienced. Right away he was able to help us get the car into Neutral without starting the car since that was part of my issue, so they didn't have to drag it off the flatbed. He kept in touch multiple times through out the day letting me know how things were going or to check and make sure I wanted some extra work done (services that I knew I was due for) and I was OK with that. They were able to fix my problem same day, and get all the other services done too so I didn't have to keep borrowing my in-laws truck for commuting. If I could give Naider and the Service Dept more than 5 stars I totally would. Dealing with him has made me actually comfortable in going back to them when I need work done that I can't do on my own. I will be back for sure and continue to come back as long as Naider is there to help! read more

My review is for the service dept. First, George, one of the service advisors was very helpful. This review is in no way a reflection of him. We broke down on hiway 5 and were towed to this dealership. We had our car fully serviced before the trip. A belt had shredded. The mechanic said we needed a tension bar and spring to hold a new belt straight. That alone was over 500. Then he said we needed a new water pump as our was leaking. We had just replaced the waterpump and there was no new leak evident so we declined. Then he said the new belt had been shredded again by the crankshaft damaged by my previous mechanic. Is was indeed loose but they said the damage was bad and it needed to be remachined or replaced. It was 6 pm by this point and they were closing. Needed to rent a car or sleep in town. Chose to cancel our trip and have the car towed back to my mechanic. Their assessment...the crankshaft having come loose from their work indeed caused the belt to shred. It just needed to be tightened and a new belt put on. We did NOT need the tension bar and spring. We did NOT need a new water pump. The crankshaft needed to be tightened. We did NOT need the have it remachined or replaced. I am being reimbursed all expenses by my own mechanic as they feel responsible for something loosening on the crankshaft. They, and my husband and I, feel the service dept is either incompetent or worse...deceitful...trying to take advantage of us broken down on a trip!!! read more

Worst service dept!! Lost the paperwork on our car so what was to be a two hour repair to replace a belt turned into an eight hour ordeal and no repair completed! Then the Asst Service Manager has the nerve to offer to "rush" the repair and get it done! No thanks not into having my car repairs rushed! I'll just take my business elsewhere. We purchased a new 2021 Toyota 4Runner Venture Special Edition in Sept. 2021. We drove to Tracy as the dealerships in the Bay didn't have much inventory & what they did have had a $5,000 upcharge due to the chip shortage. After calling many dealers, I was told over the phone by Tracy Toyota that they would waive the $5K upcharge and when we got there, they honored this price! We worked with Dell Ilyas and Dell was an absolute pleasure to do business with. He was very kind and there was no pressure about financing, trade-in etc. We also worked with Jon Wu in the finance department who was also a pleasure to work with and provided good tips. Wow, such an amazing experience at the Tracy Toyota dealership. Let me start off by saying Tracy Toyota is not my home location. I traveled from Waterford to get there. I went to visit the Modesto Toyota but didn't quiet find what I was looking for exactly. The model I already had in mind. A C-HR. So I did some more research and saw that the Tracy Toyota has a couple I was interested in. As soon as get there the employees were very welcoming. LANDON COTTON was my sales representative , and was beyond amazing at answering any questions I had and and very helpful through the entire process. Also, I appreciate KIPP DAWSON for going above and beyond making sure I left Tracy Toyota happy and with what I wanted he was able to meet me in the middle and make things work. RAMEN BAREKZAI was also amazing and very informative while singing the paperwork for the final steps. Couldn't have left Tracy Toyota any happier. Be very careful purchasing a car form this dealer. I have bought and sold used cars for years since I need them for commuting to my office in San Jose. Just my experience but found a hail damaged car on the lot a few days ago. Hail damage cars can be offer thousands below blue book and i have purchased them before. Dealers love them because they buy them at a discount and sell them fast at a discount. Once i spoke to the sales staff on the hail damaged car ( lets be clear small little dents on hood and roof top ) they told me no discount ??? What !!!!!!!!!!!!!! They told me all their cars are 100 % top shelf used cars. I'm calling BS on this place and do your research before walking the lot with sales staff. High mileage vehicles and then hail damaged cars for top shelf prices common this car sales 101 folks, hail damage can cost 5,000 to 7,000 K to repair. That alone doing the math would cause the car to be totaled by the insurance carrier and end up on the salvage market and to a experienced dealer who wants to make a dollar. Watch your purse/wallet !!!!! they seem to want more than just making a couple of bucks on the average customer. read more
