A few weekends ago, I was out in the Tracy area, when I stopped into Tracy Toyota to check out the dealership's inventory of Prius's and also stay out of the heat. I had no plans to purchase a car that day, but ended up doing so because of the deal I was offered, and the customer service that came with the whole experience. When I stopped into the dealership, I was greeted by a solo salesman, (in the bay area, there are usually 5~10 vulture car salesman that rushes over to me) who kindly asked if there was anything he can help me with. I explained that I just wanted to check out the prius, and was directed to the area they had the new shipment of prius's parked. I walked around, asking very detailed questions, and he was quite knowledgeable. When we got around to wanting to test drive, and at the same time talk briefly about numbers, I explained I had no intention to buy unless the deal was amazing. I briefly explained the expectations for pricing and terms and he explained that he will do all that he can. When he returned (with the keys for the test drive) he brought out the fleet manager (Luda), who took over working with us. She took us on the test drive, and afterwards, we went inside to discuss some terms that they might be able to accommodate. She was able to give us a number/term that we just couldn't refuse. We rushed back to our vacation home to bring a vehicle to trade in (gave very high value), and worked out the purchase of the car (very low price). We worked with Ramon in finance to complete the paperwork, and we were on our way. (very nice guy and very helpful). The whole experience was done in less than 2 hours. (including our 1 hr drive back and forth with our trade) A few days later, I decided to make some changes to the terms, and contacted Ramon directly. Not only was he kind and accommodating, he made some more magic happen, giving us an even better deal than we had before. All in all, I would say that this was one of the best experiences I have had while purchasing a new vehicle. I have had good experiences at Toyota in past but this last experience makes me question whether I want to go back to this location even though it's very close to my house and work. Service staff are friendly so I don't like leaving a negative review. I took in my car for routine maintenance and fixing recall-- I made appointment ahead of time and they said should only take a few hours at most. A little while later I got a call saying that the service tech broke a piece in my car doing recall and that car would be ready in a couple of days. I was a little disappointed but I know things happen so I was understanding . Then got a call after that one (I think a couple days after) saying piece wouldn't arrive for 2 weeks. At that point was offered a rental car but a rental car has its own responsibilities- no pets etc etc and if you return it late or without the same amount of gas extra fees will be tacked on. I haven't checked to see if my credit card was charged for miscellaneous fees. I work with animals so it's hard to ensure I don't have any pet hair on me before getting in car and it was unfortunate I couldn't transport my dogs with me anywhere and one of them is my ESA . It was big Inconvenience. I had stuff like charger and such in my car. Also just realized tonight that when I got my car back, my car mount to mount phone on dashboard is no longer there and can't find it-- not sure if technician removed it to service car but it's very frustrating since I have to drive to other locations sometimes for work including next 2 days and I can't be looking down at phone for directions and risk my safety. I wish I had been offered a discount for the next service change for huge inconvenience but even if did I'm probably better off going elsewhere for my service changes. Not sure if I should return. I work long hours and many days in a row often times so the situation with my car added to my stress load. I don't feel like staff realized this and could sincerely sympathize regarding it. I have gone to get services at other locations in past when I lived in a different city. I remember going to Walnut Creek even when I didn't have appointment and they had car taken care of in a few hours and staff made sure I was comfortable while I waited. This was before CovId. Unfortunately Walnut Creek is far drive for me but I just wish I could have experienced a similar standard especially since My car was very expensive from dealership (not this location) and it will take me years to pay off. I know everyone is going through stresses with COVID and new working conditions and don't want to be just another irate customer but needed to express my point of view. read more

We spent the afternoon with Deborah at Tracy Toyota. My niece was home from boot camp and on her way to be stationed in San Diego. We needed an affordable reliable car for her. Deborah was patient and taught my niece a lot about how not only how to buy a car, but also about the financing of it. After we picked a couple of cars apart, we found the one. Finance was great too!! Being my niece is so young, she didn't have any credit, the interest rate was high, but not until Johnny found a bank that gave her an even better rate. Their service staff caused a scratch on my new truck and now they're declining to fix the issue after we took it in for an estimate that their Relation Manager Cynthia Tyler has approve for the fix. Once the estimation was given, she gave it to that idiot director of parts and service Mike Botelho for approval and guess what??!!! that idiot decline it. Now trying to get a hold of the general manager Steve Haworth is also a nightmare. Can't even get a hold of him. Sent him email and he doesn't respond. Can't even leave a message too. I will make sure they take responsibility and pay for the scratch that they made to my new truck. I will exhaust all route and will sue them as my last route. The BEST car dealership I've ever been to! I didn't feel pressured into buying a car and I didn't feel rushed by the sales people. They explained all of the car features in detail and had no problem showing me any and all models. I loved how multiple people helped me unlike at other dealerships where they are possessive over customers because they want their commission. Wow where do I start.... On Saturday at 9 AM I brought my 2012 Toyota Prius in for service. I had previously made a appointment for the car. This is not the first time I've been to this dealership for Service. I had a coupon from Livermore Toyota and normally they honor them however the service writer did not like the idea that there is a $49 synthetic oil special with tire rotation and top off fluids off. She went on to tell me that Livermore Toyota is in direct competition with Dublin Toyota and Tracy Toyota is not in competition with them, but she would give me $10 off the oil change and five dollars off the wiper blade... which I was eternally grateful for. Everything was going fine, So I droped the car off. Service advisor called me up from home said my car was done (1hr10min) it was in for: 1) oil change/filter 2) tire rotation 3) new wiper blade(rear) 4) top off all fluids 5) I also ask them to put 10,000 miles on my sticker as it is a Prius and it's all synthetic oil. I thought to myself "this is great, I should make appointments more often get the car back very soon". So i'm in my Prius and I drive out of the dealership and the first thing I notice is my oil sticker(on window) is still at 5000 miles. I said to myself no problem not a big deal, I will just cross it out and write 10,000 miles in. Then this morning.. I got in my car and there was dew on the back window, so of course I turn my wiper blade and noticed that the rubber is still hanging loose from the wiper. Which has not been replaced. I also noticed when I turned the car on and the "maintenance service soon sign/light" came up on the dashboard which was never reset. After I got to work I decided to check under the hood to make sure the engine was still there LOL. Upon further inspection under the hood I found none of my fluids were topped off, my wiper fluid power steering fluid, brake fluid..nothing had been touched. This also leads me to the tire rotation did they or did they not Rotate. It is hard to speculate at this time, however the car is not been washed since the last rain and it's fairly filthy, I noticed that the black rims under the hubcaps did not have a lot of fingerprints on them, so I am not sure if the tires were rotated at all. All the same I shouldn't have to play Dick Tracy with my own car to see if these simple things were taken care of. The dealership should have no problem with the simpleton tasks. This only proves to me that the dealership does not care about its customers. Final comment,Everything reflects on the ownership. I don't play the "cop out game" that my service manager should have done this or that, it all goes to the top. I have written a letter several years ago to address certain concerns, about trying to purchase a car and the service area. The dealership seem to be getting better so I return for service. However I'm not sure I can go back after this last service was so bad. I finally went back to the service department and spoke with Mingo and Mike Director of fixed operations. Mingo was able to fix all the repairs the service department didn't do. I spoke with Mike to let him know personally that I was no longer going to be a customer of Tracy Toyota. Both of them were understanding and good listeners. However I would always feel the next time I went in for a service that they might forget to tighten up one of my wheel lugs and cost me even problems. I guess it's 12 miles to Livermore/Dublin Toyota for me next time. read more

My most recent visit was probably one of the best and easiest visits in the last 3 years of coming here and to the Dublin location. This was my first time not making an appointment, and I seriously only waited an hour versus 2-4. My service advisor was so nice and treated me kindly even though I probably looked a mess. Lol. This is an update to a previous post regarding a contract made with Tracy Toyota for what I was let to believe would cover my vehicle for the entire period of ownership. Upon making an appointment for service 25,600 miles and arriving at Tracy Toyota for my very early morning appointment I was made not only to wait over 30 minutes to be acknowledged with only one other vehicle in front of me. Only to be informed that I was going to be charged for today's service and that my service contract that I paid $$$$ for had now expired. This is just a sample of the many lies they will tell you in order to not only sell you a car but also to jack up the prices. I left the dealership and later after speaking with management informed them I would not return. I received a mailer from Tracy toyota stating they had reviewed my account and that they would basically be happy to service my vehicle in the future. Yesterday 08/15/2020 I went to another dealership closer to home and was informed that my contract was still in effect until Feb 2021, My vehicle was fully serviced in accordance with manufacturers specs, it was then given a complimentary wash and returned to me. Bottom Line CONSUMER BEWARE if you are planning on shopping at Tracy Toyota. There are other Toyota choices just a short drive Vasco road south just off Hwy 580, Antioch just off of 680. read more

I got gota pretty good deal on my toyota corolla here a few months back. My only complaint is that my alignment or tires were not filled properly with air so I had gotten a flat. I took my car in the next day on the spare tire and Dan gave me a free rental for 3 days and gave me 2 new front tires,along with a free tail light. I thought that was pretty good customer service! Gotta say after reading all these negative reviews, I was a bit confused. We had gone through Dell Web Services via Truecar.com and had a price in hand when we went to Tracy Toyota. Landon Cotton e-mailed us to let us know that he would be our representative when we were ready to come in. No pressure, no hard sell. Just an easy conversation for when we were ready. Test drive was easy and we decided on the Toyota Tacoma 4X4 short bed TRD Sport. This thing has all the neat options. From voice activated GPS, to collision detection and collision avoidance systems (all standard). It even has this mind blowing feature where if you start to go to sleep, it will shake the steering wheel to wake you up and a picture of a cup of coffee comes up on the screen suggesting you stop to get some rest. But the most amazing feature is this thing where if you get stuck in the sand or mud. It will move the wheels in such a way that it builds up dirt under your wheels and lifts up the truck to get you unstuck. I decided to submit my paperwork directly to TFS (Toyota Financial Services) and they had my approval in 24 hours. I called Landon at 2pm and told him I would be in at 3. He had the truck ready and only had to wait about 20 mins to get into the Finance person (one person was already in the office). Landon asked me ahead of time if I wanted any extended warranty or add-ons and I declined. Now here is the part that you may want to pay attention to. YES, they do have you sign an electronic pad for your signatures but be sure to ask to see the terms first (that is your right under CA law). As promised from TFS, we got 3.9% for 60 months and they honored the Truecar.com price which was $2k below what Tracy Toyota sticker showed. There was no games, no switching and everything they said they would do, they did. It is important for you as the consumer to be educated and be your own advocate. Get pre-approved, have your insurance proof ready and tell them what you do and do not want. All in all, it was a great experience for me and a wonderful Mother's Day gift for my wife. This is my second review of this location. I stopped coming here awhile back when I had just purchased my 2016 Toyota Prius. A few years back, after a few bad experiences I've decided to part ways with Tracy Toyota and to start going to Modesto Toyota. Now that I've moved back to Tracy a few months ago... Anyways, I am literally pulled off to the plaza across the street because I don't want to lose my train of thought when writing this review. I decided to come back to this location to give them another shot, I mean maybe a few years later and a few staff changes.. this place may have gotten better. Boy was I wrong because it's just as I left it a few years ago. I pulled in and waited for about 5-6 minutes until a lady in a white corolla pulled up next to me. Alex, the attendant who in charge of getting everyone's info came out and addressed her first (I was in the left lane and she was in the right lane) and proceeded to help her. After he was done, I proceeded to tell him that she arrived a few minutes after me and he informed me that "yeah don't worry about it I'll make sure they help you first." I asked if he can change the cone numbers so I can correctly be #1 and he said "yeah yeah yeah I said I'll take care of it." I proceeded to wait for more assistance and decided to go in and ask for help. I saw another advisor come out and started helping the other lady (what I was afraid of and asked to have my cone changed)FML. No one was around for another few minutes. Like this is straight wild. I talked to a lady that came back out and said "hey I've been waiting for a bit, is anyone else available?" She snapped at me and said "well we've been busy in the back helping customers." I was like okay... you know what? I'm going somewhere else. She then said "ok that's fine have a great day, Thanks." So I guess it's all good in the hood now. Thanks Tracy Toyota! Love what you've done with the place. Because I now live in Tracy and love your great customer service, I think I'll spend the 40 minutes to go back to Modesto Toyota! Thanks again! Toyota Tracy is the verse location to go for service and repair. Service adviser to Service Manager all lie to customer and have no ethic of business. My Camry been there for three weeks and service adviser Edward tell me you will get your car with in a week and know its more than three weeks even yesterday their Service Manager told me the car will be ready today Dec 18 and he will call me and when i call today Dec 18 they having Christmas party. Just i hit curb driving under 25 miles per hour and they make a bill of $9320 dollars and make a deal with AAA insurance and they already received $6872 on December 5 and every time i call they have some excuse. I had verse experience at Toyota Tracy and i never ever go to Toyota service again. My advice to people go for service some where else but not to Toyota Tracy. read more

If you're looking for a new or slightly used Toyota, there are far better options than this particular dealership. The sales team does the typical "bait and switch" thing that all car salespeople do, do NOT even listen to any of the words that come out of sales or finance guy's mouth. ONLY look at what is written down. If you've not heeded my advice thus far, and made the mistake of purchasing from these people, get ready for the real fun to begin. Maybe you need a part or something nice because you've never owned a new Tacoma before and decide to go to the parts counter for said item. Here, you'll be greeted by both the most incompetent and rudest parts counter people I've ever dealt with. But's that's "ok", they looked super busy sitting on these stools in that back room. I'm sorry I bothered them. Now, the coup de grâce or is it the "straw that broke the camels back", regardless. Say the new(er) Toyota that you purchased needs a warranty repair because this dealership sold you a vehicle with a leaky windshield. You might think, "I'll make an appointment so everyone knows why I'm there and to make sure they have all the parts needed for said repair", so you make said appointment. Then, you'll show up. No one at the service counter knows anything about your appointment or why you're there. They sure as heck don't have anyone there that can repair a leaky windshield. But you find this out only after they accuse you of possibly trying to pull your own windshield out (is this a thing). So, now they need to reschedule you. So, you'll take another day off of work, and show up to have your repair done, but guess what... (drum roll)...No one knows why you're there and they sure don't have anyone that can fix a leaky windshield. Understandably, you're getting upset so they send someone to your work to do the repair a week later. But the people they send out are even more incompetent that the Toyota parts counter people, so your windshield still leaks. Calling, again, to set up a fourth appointment, and to take another day off, you arrive at the dealership. 3 hours later they will inform you that your car is ready because they tested it and there is no leak. Doing everything in your power to remain calm, you'll politely ask them to direct you to a water hose where you'll have to show the "car repair expert" how windshields vs. water work. So, we have eye witness evidence that this leak does occur, and four hours later they tell you your vehicle is ready. You'll get back in your vehicle and see that instead of taking the windshield out, repairing the seals and re-installing, they just squirt some black caulk on the inside of your windshield and call it a day. Since it's getting dark by this time, 7 hours from whence you arrived, you'll drive off wishing you'd bought a Nissan. read more

Scheduled an appointment a week out to get my oil changed bc I bought a new RAV4 from Toyota w/ 2 yrs worth of oil changes. I showed up 5 mins early @ 8:55am for my 9:00am appointment, and there are already 15 cars in line. An associate comes speaks to me saying his manager likes to schedule a buttload of people first thing in the morning but there are only two people working today. I asked how much longer bc I have to go to work (it's now 9:15) and he said well you have to wait till there's room for your car so awhile or I can reschedule. So I asked to reschedule and I have to call to do so. It's frustrating bc I need an oil change and it's going to be another week or two out and I can't be dealing with the same scenario. I was late to work for absolutely NO good reason. Very upsetting. They also have a sign saying no more car washes w/ service bc of a drought and I just think that's pretty petty to have on display. The associate was nice and is not the one to blame for this - Toyota Tracy definitely needs to rethink how they operate. read more

So I just bought a 2017 Tacoma from Landon. This guy was on the ball and knew his stuff. Every question I asked was answered with a knowledgeable and educational answer. Not a filler answer to BS me. But the part that really stood out about my experience was the fact that even though they didn't have the exact truck I wanted, Landon went out of his way to find it at another dealer (dealer didn't want to give it up at first) to do a trade. Joe (the general manager) and Lee (used car manager) fought tooth and nail to get the truck for me. After an endless pursuit, they managed to get the truck and went out of their way to make me top priority, exhausting every possible option to get me the truck I wanted. I have been a Tracy' Toyota customer for 20 years but the service department has gotten progressively worse. When you call for an appointment nobody answers during business hours. No voicemail and calls get sent to receptionist. When you drive there you get placed on the the no on appointments list but appointment folks continuously flow in so you keep getting pushed back. When asked about this system and if I could potentially be waiting for half the day they said it's possible. This is a horrible system. It was easier and faster to go to Honda for an oil change. read more

I have been doing business with Tracy Toyota since 2009. My wife has been with them since 2003. We have seen service managers come and go. I was delighted with Mike Botehlo, and a few years back, they let him go, only to ask him to come back a few years later. During the time he was gone, the service department was horrible. Had car serviced for basic oil change and other standard maintenance. Decided to have them perform on recall. Noticed some issues and brought it to their attention. The way they handled my call (mind you it wasn't a complaint, until he made it difficult) was horrible!! He insisted that the Techs don't make mistakes. Here I'm speaking with an Advisor NOT the Technician who serviced my car, continues to battle with me, not open to the possibilities of a Tech mistake. No Instead of trying to offer a recommendation or even a solution, he just came across like he didn't care. Where is the appropriate customer service??? Management you need to brush your team up with better customer skills. I truly hope that they are telling the truth when they say "calls are recorded". Owners of dealership should review the calls to determine why their ratings are low. For something so simple and easy to fix, your Advisor made a first time customer their last. Would definitely NOT recommend this dealership! Worst decision ever!! And NO, I didn't return to try and get this looked at. Who know what problems I may encounter if I did. That there was a great decision! OMG! So disappointed at myself for not reviewing Yelp on this place! Horrible!! And I bet if management replies, it will be the exact same comment as everyone else. read more
