But the part that really stood out about my experience was the fact that even though they didn't have the exact truck I wanted, Landon went out of his way to find it at another dealer (dealer didn't want to give it up at first) to do a trade. Joe (the general manager) and Lee (used car manager) fought tooth and nail to get the truck for me. After an endless pursuit, they managed to get the truck and went out of their way to make me top priority, exhausting every possible option to get me the truck I wanted. I have been a Tracy' Toyota customer for 20 years but the service department has gotten progressively worse. When you call for an appointment nobody answers during business hours. No voicemail and calls get sent to receptionist. When you drive there you get placed on the the no on appointments list but appointment folks continuously flow in so you keep getting pushed back. When asked about this system and if I could potentially be waiting for half the day they said it's possible. This is a horrible system. It was easier and faster to go to Honda for an oil change. read more

I recently took a relative's 2010 Prius in for a safety recall inspection. The clerk, Chris Oliva, was extremely courteous and explained that if the recalled part didn't pass inspection and ended up needing to be replaced we'd have to leave the car there for, potentially, a whole month because the part is on back order. He also said that because the owner is in her 60's he was going to put her car on "critical." Additionally, he promptly got her a rental car and called me multiple times to keep us posted on the status. Less than one week later he let us know the car was ready. Moral of the story: I've always been a happy Honda owner but after dealing with Mr. Oliva I would not hesitate to consider a Toyota in the future - this dealership is lucky to have him as an employee and I sure hope he is being rewarded accordingly for his kindness toward us customers. read more

Had car serviced for basic oil change and other standard maintenance. Decided to have them perform on recall. Noticed some issues and brought it to their attention. The way they handled my call (mind you it wasn't a complaint, until he made it difficult) was horrible!! He insisted that the Techs don't make mistakes. Here I'm speaking with an Advisor NOT the Technician who serviced my car, continues to battle with me, not open to the possibilities of a Tech mistake. No Instead of trying to offer a recommendation or even a solution, he just came across like he didn't care. Where is the appropriate customer service??? Management you need to brush your team up with better customer skills. I truly hope that they are telling the truth when they say "calls are recorded". Owners of dealership should review the calls to determine why their ratings are low. For something so simple and easy to fix, your Advisor made a first time customer their last. Would definitely NOT recommend this dealership! Worst decision ever!! And NO, I didn't return to try and get this looked at. Who know what problems I may encounter if I did. I was referred to this location through a friend so I Called at 10:45am an asked for a appt for 11:30am to have my trucks 10,000 mile oil and filter changed and they said yes. When I arrived, every person I seen had smiles on their faces and were polite. Jen came out an introduced herself and wrote down the trucks info an did a walk around of the truck an said it would be about an hour. Those service guys are fast! I was out of there by 12:10pm. Really....the manager at Toyota has not a clue, and I am really surprised that with this "sales manager" the dealership still survives and turns in good profits. After going to Modesto Toyota and Stockton Toyota, where the salesmen lived up to the typical salesman reputation, I ended up at Tracy Toyota. Lucky for us, we met Kacey! He was very personable, relatable, and just seemed like a nice guy. Huge step up from the other car salesmen we encountered. Unfortunately, though, we were there close to closing and the finance guy that night was less than patient with me since I didn't settle for his first couple of offers. He tried to talk me out of GAP insurance to lower my payment! - He also told me it was just getting too late! I walked out. But the next day Kacey, our salesman, contacted me....we really liked him so we went back. He apologized for the finance guy's rudeness the previous night. He seemed sincere and made a great effort to earn my business, without being pushy. I made sure a different finance guy would be there, this time it was John. He was fantastic! Patient with me, actually sat down and educated me on some things I didn't understand, and did not get frustrated with me because I wouldn't accept his first few offers. Kacey was just as patient with me as I took quite awhile to make a deal and make a decision. On the way home, my daughter actually said she was going to miss Kacey lol! Scheduled an appointment to come look at a car I was interested in a week in advance. The day before, I contacted the dealership again to confirm that the car was still there. "Of course! We can't wait to help you... blah blah blah" I was visiting family in Southern California but left early to come look at the vehicle. I arrive on time for my appointment and they told me "Unfortunately, the car has been sold." I was so confused and upset at the same time. All they said was "I'm sorry. This happens." I told them I came all the way from Southern California and they told me "Oh that's not too bad! We have customers come from San Diego too!" as if the distance I drove didn't matter because someone else drove that same distance. This was one of the things that upset me the most. Don't invalidate my experience. You have no idea the inconvenience it took me to get here. Just because someone came from San Diego, doesn't mean it's just as easy for me to get to Tracy. The way I see it, you should already have a system set up so that you know what vehicles are in stock and what appointments are set up so that you can contact customers when a vehicle is no longer in stock. DON'T WASTE THE CUSTOMERS TIME. That's just one of the sales tactics they use to make you not feel so bad. After that they tried to get me to look at other cars. Another sales tactic: since they couldn't sell you their first car, let's try to sell you another car. I asked to speak to the customer relations manager and instead just sent me another salesman to apologize to me. I didn't want to hear another apology; I wanted an explanation, I wanted to hear how you were going to avoid something like this in the future for other customers. I walked into one of the salesman office, and ALLLLL the family photos on his desk were facing the customer side, away from his view when he sat down. How does this make any sense? Family photos are meant for yourself to look at but instead he wants the customer to see these pictures and view him as personable, relatable, and a "family man" so you think you're doing business with a nice guy. Sorry guys, I see through all your tactics. This was my first experience buying a car and I had no idea how dishonest, devious, and shady car salesmen can be. Needed to buy an O-Ring for my transmission strainer. The part in their online website was $3.50 and for some reason they started charging a flat $15 fee to pick up the part LOL. I called in to see if they could waive the fee since the part was only $3.50 and they said they couldn't. Part in store was around $10. Why list parts for cheaper and hit customers with a pick up fee that makes the total more than the cost of purchasing it in store. Bought parts here for the past 3 years. I contacted the dealership first to confirm that a 3rd party could make a payment over the phone for a vehicle, and they were very understand and accommodating to my situation. Then, when it came time to purchase the car, even though there was a slight misunderstanding with the phone purchasing process, the staff (especially Robert) was very willing to work with my schedule and even offered to deliver the vehicle to my work place the next day. They remained in contact with me throughout the entire process and made it a pleasant car buying experience! This place is absolutely terrible! I bought a used car from them and paid a little more than I wanted, but since a dealership was selling it I had more trust in buying a used car. Personally I don't know much about cars, so trust is a big deal with me. 3 1/2 days later less than 200 miles the cars engine needed major repair if it replaced. I went back to them to see if we could work together to get it fixed and was told they wouldn't. I had a mechanic look at it and I was told the problem was due to driving the car with low oil. I will take responsibility in not checking it; however when you buy a car with 150 point inspection I feel that this should have been checked or address. I also purchased an extended warranty from them but after I got home, I realized the terms of the warranty were not the right one for me. My 2012 Nissan was on its last leg and my father and I decided to take a look at a Corolla and the C-HR. As soon as we got there we were greeted by Ez. My dad has asthma so, Ez offered to drive several vehicles around for us to look at from behind the building that way we wouldn't have to walk so far. By the time he crunched some numbers he was going back and forth between us and his manager to get us the best deal he could get. Not only was he working with us and being so patient but he was helping another family. I was really amazed at his work ethic and how positive his attitude was even being under stress AND close to closing time. He really did his best and we walked out with another brand new Toyota. I went in with my dad and I really liked one of cars, first of all the lady who helped us didn't even offer to let me test drive the car ,and when I asked to test drive it she said,"let's wait until your credit score comes back."I felt racially profiled and even though when our credit score came back and we had a credit score of 700+ I still wasn't offered to test drive the car. She was only interested in talking about numbers , how are you going to talk about numbers when I'm not even in love with the car and I still didn't get to test drive it. I took my business elsewhere and bough a car at Honda save yourself the time and money don't deal with these people , oh and the finance manager acted very unprofessional and rude. For the specific reason to minimize the risks associated with buying a used car, we bought a certified Sienna from Toyota Tracy in July 2015. A car sold through the Toyota Certified Used Vehicles (TCUV) program is subject to a rigorous 160-point inspection that is designed to give the customer the peace of mind of knowing that their car is in excellent working order and free of bad repairs. After a year, the paint on the passenger door started peeling, revealing rust underneath. We took the car to a few body shops in Tracy who all shook their heads in disapproval over what obviously was a bad paint job repair. The estimated cost of repair ranged from $2000 to $4000 depending on the extent of the hidden damage. We were therefore advised to instead take it back to Toyota. After checking the inspection check list, which explicitly contains the point "Vehicle is free of improper paint repairs..." we left the car for inspection at Toyota Tracy with their customer relations manager. This inspection left us with no answers and vague promises that the matter would be discussed. After weeks of repeatedly struggling to get a straight answer from the customer representative, the car was finally subject to a second inspection, this time by technicians from Toyota regional headquarters. Their verdict was apparently that they (Toyota North California) would not pay for repairs. I write apparently, because we have still to get a straight answer as to why or seen any paper trail on this besides the word "no". Although we are fully aware of that this is not covered by the warranty, it is in clear violation of the spirit of buying a certified car. This is in particular true since the car passed an inspection on precisely the thing that is failing. In addition, Toyota Tracy failed on multiple occasions to identify a faulty installed camber kit (in fairness, by Toyota Berkeley) as the source of a thumping sound. This resulted in a dangerous situation, involving my children, with a locked rear tire going 65 mph on the freeway. In light of this, one would hope that Toyota Tracy would do "the right thing" and help us out with the pre-existing faulty paint job repairs, but we can't even get an answer from them. I have repeatedly contacted their customer representative via phone and email with no response. Next time it is safe to say that I will conduct my business elsewhere. Update: Took the car to Central Valley Collision, who during repair found rust under paint on both the passenger door AND the panel in front of it. Total cost of repair: $2300. The "rigorous" 160-point inspection for a certified used Toyota is totally useless, although it specifically included inspection for bad paintjobs, as you can't argue that they didn't do a proper inspection. We pointed out these spots on the car when we bought it. "Buffable" they said. You'd think that Toyota Tracy would have done the right thing and helped us out, but clearly a customer is forgotten at the point the purchase has been made. Money first, customer last. read more

I was there for an oil change on Nov 11, 2020, they charged me the amount, but they never changed the oil on my car. Luckily I caught them that they never changed it. When I came back, I talked to their manager "Bob", he said he will change the oil but in a later date. When I brought my car for an actual oil change, who knows if they changed the oil or not, but they didn't change the filter this time. When I asked, they said oh the filter housing is damaged. The deal was literally done over the phone for me in 20 minutes (salesman shouldn't do this because customers usually just hunt for the best price) but because Landon trusted me to come get the car from him, I trusted him for the deal. Taking my car here after having a huge piece of metal rip up my transmission was the biggest mistake. Going back and forth with Geico and Toyota was awful. I gave Toyota paperwork with authorizations and then they said they didn't have it. They had my car for almost one month. When I asked for a curtesy car they said they don't offer that and I would have to pay $35/ day. Communication between myself and the service people was awful. This is my first time posting on YELP so that should tell you how disappointed I am with Tracy Toyota. Today, I brought in my car for repairs (keep in mind that I've been bringing my car for maintenance since 2015) and I was extremely dissatisfied with the customer service. I had an appointment at 8 am but arrived 15 mins earlier. It wasn't until 8:25 that someone finally decided to greet me and start the check-in process. What bothered me was that there were two people in the 'walk-in' lane that were greeted before me (they had arrived after me), which makes no sense. I get to the desk and I am told that I have no appointment. I don't know how that is possible...since I have documentation of the appointment. The service specialist finds the work request and everything is good to go. Fast forward to 4 and I am there to pick up my car. Two service advisors are at their desk (one on the phone texting and the other just chit-chatting with his coworkers). I am standing there like an idiot so I go to the cashier's desk but I decide to return to the service desk and these two advisors are just minding their own business. I am no queen of England and I don't expect to be treated as such but these people need training on customer service. They won't even acknowledge you or see if they can help you in any way. I have confronted them about this before and their excuse is that they're busy. I understand that but the least you can say is "someone will be with you shortly" or something along those lines. It's so frustrating feeling like you're being ignored and not given the proper service you expect. I have let this passed many times but it's unacceptable! I was also told that my car will be cleaned as a courtesy due to the repairs I was getting done but nope... my car came out looking dirtier and the tires, which are supposed to be new, look like used tires to me. Also, I took my car without anyone escorting me to it or telling me it was ready in the front. Someone could've easily taken my car but these people couldn't care less. There is this woman who works there during the weekdays and she is awesome! She seems to be able to multi-task and sure knows how to run the show, that's the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars. read more

The only problem I had was a missing part (Oh $#!+ handle) that the salesman said was already ordered.Fast forward about a month (was in an accident so i was in no hurry) and I decide to call to see whats going on, The shop says there no part and they send me to parts and they dont have any idea and will call when they figure it out.
