If I could give it less than one star I would. The salesperson I dealt with has been there a LONG time so no excuses. I inquired about a used car on their website via text too weeks ago. I was unable to look at the car personally as about 50 miles away. I chatted with the salesperson multiple times getting all the info I needed. The car seemed in good shape from her description but they were asking too much ($26.9K). She asked what I wanted to do and I said I would be interested but at a lower price. She said thanks and I did not text after saying I'd be looking at other cars. A couple days later she texted me again saying "My used car manager says we are very close to 25 plus tax and lic when can you come in". I saw the car on Friday morning, test drove it and it was it good shape. I was on my way out of town and said I had two others to look at and would let her know. No discussion to price as I had her text from a few days earlier. I left and a few hours later I got a text from her "They will sell the car tomorrow". I responded with asking her best price to confirm her earlier text. Her response was "what we have already agreed to" so I figured great but asked what 'close' meant in her text and copied her text offering it at "close to 25" and sent it to her. She then responded with "$26,993 plus tax and license" "that is the price it will sell at tomorrow". Wow, is all I can say. I responded with "then sell it at that price tomorrow and don't wast my time...etc." It's amazing that salespeople still operate like this. This is a horrible dealership that lacks quality service technicians and lacks good customer service. My first incident with this dealership was when I took my brand new car for scheduled maintenance and they did not fillup the oil to the proper level. the next day I got the flashing light on the dashboard telling me I am low on oil. This fault could have cost me a brand new car, and still I am not sure what are the long term affects on the ruining condition of the vehicle. read more

I came in here to et an estimate for break pads and rotors. Everyone is so rude. The first rude encounter was with Zyn who squawked at me that someone will be with right with me even though the place was empty. Then she proceeded to make a phone call basically yelling into her receiver. So obnoxious. I wanted to leave right then. So another customer walks in and the other guy becomes available and takes him first. Hello I have been waiting I was here first. So finally my turn and without even looking up the blond curly haired girl says "can I help you sir?" I am obviously not a guy. Get your act together Toyota. He lacks customer service skills and even contacted Yelp to have my first review removed because it involved my husband and son and not me! That was a lie! I spoke to Dan personally after I left two messages with two different service clerks and three times to the receptionists before getting Dan on the phone! I am very happy and satisfied with this car sales experience. After doing some research and going to a bunch of different car dealerships like Modesto toyota etc I ended up at Tracy toyota after seeing a car i liked on their website. As soon as we arrived, we were immediately greeted by Gabriel. He was very helpful and very knowledgeable. He immediately took us to the vehicles that my husband and i were looking for. He showed us different options and was not hesitant to help us and work with our budget. After finding a vehicle that we liked, Johnny, the finance rep, really helped us find the best deal that would work for both parties. Both reps were very curtious and attentive offering us refreshments and even food. Overall this car shopping went from being a headache to such a smooth and great experience! This is hands down the worst experience I've ever had buying a car in my life. At one point of of this terrible experience our salesmen left with my drivers licence to make a copy. When he came back I asked him for it. He said he forgot and would get it. We talked about the price of the car. He left 20 minutes go by. He comes back smelling like cigarettes, and immediately starts to talk about price again. So I ask him for my drivers licence. He says "I'll go get it" He leaves and is gone for another 20 minutes. I hear over the loud speaker, they call and ask if anyone has taken a licence off of the copier. We spent the next 3 hours waiting to get my licence back, which included them reviewing the survalence tape to see see if I had been given my licence back, (Even though i knew i diddn't have it, because i asked for it the very first time he came back without it!) as well as asking me to empty my pockets out! Eventually they came back and said that they had lost it. So now here I am I have no drivers licence so I can't even try to to buy another car until I take time off work, go to the Dmv, and get a new one reissued, and receive it. Also due to my job I have had to file a police report, as well as report them to the BBB. The kicker is I own 2 cars above the price range of the car I was attempting to buy, and am familiar with what they cost, as well as what the car I was trying to buy should cost. In their words my credit is "exelent" So when they were offering me a "deal" with a monthly payment more than twice as high as my other 2 more expensive vehicles I was insulted. They also told me I was getting a deal because the car used to be priced at xxxxxx. Well I looked it up right there and that car didn't cost what they said when it was new! They also said the car that I bought 2 years ago was only worth 20% of what we paid. So I looked up the same car we own, on their lot, and they were selling one with that was older than ours, with more miles, for more money! If I sold them our car at the price they said they basically would make 90% profit on it, while simultaneously doubling my existing car payment (For no reason they could explain.) When that didn't work for us, my licence "dissappeared" and we sat their for hours, and now we can't buy a car anywhere (without my licence), and I can't legally drive until I resolve this. Congratulations Tracy Toyota Scion. This is the worst experience I have ever had buying a car in my entire life. read more

Sales rep was awesome. No pressure and very pleasant to work with. Sales manager was very nice and helpful. Reason for 4 star is because i really hated dealing with the finance manager. The reason i would not return or recommend is because of finance manager. Not friendly, has superiority complex towards customers and other staff. I almost didnt purchase because of the 10 min interaction with him. I was considering 3 stars but sales staff was great. I purchased because deepac the sales rep. I purchased a prius and asked the finance manager about warranty of the hybrid battery and he told me it was 96 months or 100000 miles. I asked if i could by extended warranty for the battery. Finance manager told me that i could and it would cost $299 and that it would cover the battery for the life of the car. I thought, wow thats too good to be true, so I immediately purchased it. Come to find out the warranty was for the crank battery, not the hybrid which he did not tell me till i asked specifically. We were talking about the hybrid battery warranty but he tries to sell me a warranty for crank battery. Hence now im waiting for a $299 check from the dealership which i hope they send. The sales people are awesome, but when u get to finance dept, be extra careful. Thats where you're gonna get ripped off. Also i was paying a one time cash payment purchase and first contract he printed up was for 60 payments. Finance guy says its just in case your check bounces. I had to leave and get a cashiers check so he'll change contract to one payment. He knows my credit rating so its was a slap in the face to think i would bounce a check. Im watching my credit activity extra carefully because of this so called finance manager. BEWARE! UPDATE: It has now been 21 days since the purchase of my vehicle. I have not yet received my $299 which i have a due bill for. I tried to call the finance manager, but never get an answer. Im about to go down to tracy toyota tomorrow and demand my check. Next I asked if I could get another key made for free because I only had one key, since it was a used car they said no! I would have to ask the customer service rep she never got back to me after I called her multiple times! After a few months I gave up and just bought a extra set at 500$ !!!! Then after driving the car for 2 years I noticed my head lights are legit going out like every month! I take it back there, and they told me there was a recall on something with the headlights, and they maybe able to fix it. Then they told me oh your car wasn't included in the recall so we can't fix it! Seriously like WTF. So you and Toyota just expect me to change my headlights like every month...not to mention every time it's changed it cost $129.00, over there! no thanks. I had been coming here for years, Taking my moms car in since she is busy with her 24/7 Day Care. Never once was there an issue about me bringing the car in for a oil change and check up. But now they recently changed their policy without notifying via email,phone call or mail. And to quote the manager there "We don't have to notify you , It's not in the contract" Ok Fair enough so I came with my step-father who's name is on the title of the car and was there the day of purchase. And due to the mistake that Toyota made....The card for our oil change and check up says my stepdad's and mothers first names...but has my mothers maiden name..As she didn't take my stepdads last name. Now you would think ok...this is a simple fix...But no they refused to fix anything. Claiming that they don't make that card anymore because the car isn't manufactured anymore... Ok well we don't need the card...just change the name on the file system and BOOOM Fixed...But no it seems that fixing something that could literally take 10 minutes or less to fix is too hard for the under qualified rude manager working in back.. To top it off making comments about the fact my mother couldn't come down was highly unprofessional. My mother runs a 24/7 business and can't leave the house due to the fact she has children in her care.. And They began to argue and say " no one runs a 24/7 business" and say " oh yeah ? how does she get sleep?" I responded..she gets like 4 hours of sleep a day.. and the manager grunted and said "sounds like me" in the most condescending tone. And to top off they manager went to the GM ..OR SO HE CLAIMS and said that they can't change the name because it's not in their policy and claims the owner said the same thing. Honestly This sounds more like they didn't want to really help. Honestly I highly support that you do not trust this branch of Toyota dealers. And reminder to all. I just had a great experience buying my 2014 Tundra Crewmax from Tracy Toyota. Wii was the name of my salesmen and I also talked to the GM Mike and Ramen the finance guy. All three were a pleasure to deal with. I was a little obsessed about getting a particular config for my Tundra. It had only been out for 2 weeks or so. I'm from Reno and contacted around 20 dealerships looking for the truck. I finally found it in Tracy! They matched the best price I found and took a little more off of it. I've been comparing pricing around the country and I got as good of a deal on this brand new model as anyone did. Wii talked me through the process of buying the car out of state. They ended up having to drive the car back to Reno. I couldn't do this myself (cali state law). I thought I would be charged for this, but Wii drove it back for me free of charge. The dealership let me use a Prius to follow my truck in. That was also free of charge. When we got to Reno Wii walked me through the truck and showed me everything. He made sure I was happy and we both looked over every inch of the truck to make sure there wasn't any damage to it in the drive up from Tracy. Ramen was nice and talked me through everything. I know I was getting a decent deal compared to the other prices I've seen from people in forums. No high pressure sales or anything. Oh yah, I came in at about 8pm on the last day of rebates (new ones were going to get announced the next day but who knows what they would be). Ramen, Wii and the GM Mike stayed late so they could lock me in so I could get my $1,000 cash back rebate. Two more things: 1) I had to stay the night in Tracy so that I wasn't driving back in the dark. Wii drove me to my hotel. 2) Wii offered to take me out to breakfast the next day. I wanted to get back home so I declined, but that was very nice. I had great service and great experience at Tracy Toyota. I recommend them. read more

George was awesome in getting our car serviced in less than 40 min and even recommended an outstanding salesman, Wii when we asked about a Toyota Highlander. Wii was extremely helpful and friendly. No pressure just facts and benefits. He knows his cars and very up to date with the features on the new models. Will definitely go back for service and probably for our new SUV. read more

Every time I come here it is a time suck. Their shuttle only runs once an hour and if you miss it by 5 min your stuck. Something they fail to mention, they expect you to notice the fine print. They are not clear on what service you need or what is due. I don't know about cars so I have to rely on what they say. I HATE being heckled and followed by overly-persistent car salesmen/women... So, when Landon approached my dad and I in his easy-going and carefree manner, I honestly felt at ease! He never pressured us into looking at certain cars, but instead told us where the certified used cars were located, answered other questions we had, and gave us our space. He didn't go too far, but that distance was much appreciated. Took a test drive and he simply directed me on where to go, and didn't push too hard to sell me on the car I was in. I don't want to feel suffocated by salesmen/women trying to go after my money, so I believe I got lucky with Landon. After the test drive, I fell in love with the car and knew what my standard was. We left the lot to browse the other dealerships in the area and after an hour or so, we came back and asked for Landon. In the end, I left with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT and I couldn't be happier. I truly appreciate Landon's genuine personality and knowledge. He talked everything down for me, but was able to keep up a conversation with my dad (the car guy). He has most definitely set the bar pretty high for all future salesmen/women. So, if you're looking for a car and don't want to be heckled left and right by a fake salesperson, come here and ask for Landon Cotton. **fake salesperson references the folks from the other dealerships I visited. Writing this review to save others from the hassle. We spoke with Cheska in the morning about a specific car, communicated how far we were driving and that we had a one month newborn to bring as well. She never mentioned someone had an appt for the same car at 11AM, and failed to communicate this to us whatsoever. We drove over a hour to Tracy, wasted our gas and put miles on our car that we wanted to trade in which already lowers the value. We waited over an hour at the dealership to see if the lady who had the appointment at 11AM, who was by the way 3 hours late to come look at it...and turns out she wanted the car and we were turned down. Due to the manager and Cheska not communicating this to us, we drove all that way with our newborn to be turned down and not be able to trade in our car for that specific one wasting our time, money and energy gathering up everything to travel with our newborn. Terrible customer service and do not recommend. Horrible experience. read more

Please beware of shopping here for a car!!! My credit is not the best at all but they had a car I wanted and I figured I would take a chance. My first problem with Tracy Toyota was just looking at the car I was interested in. 2 out of 3 sales people gave us false information about the used car's past ownership. Until I asked the final sales person for the carfax, we were misled that the car was a 1 owner car when the car was owned by 4 people, soon to be 5. The second issue with this dealership that provoked me to write this review was the amount of times my credit was run as I tried to purchase this car. I understand I have bad credit and I know that they were using several banks to try to get me approved. I was extremely grateful for them trying to get me approved. However, I was told go home that night and first thing in the morning, my finance guy would call the bank to personally speak with them to try to get me approved. That, to me, was going above and beyond for customer service and I was so grateful that a dealership was finally working with me to get me into a car. Well, the next morning I received an email from my sales person that said. "I am sorry, but we sold the car last night. Please let me know if there are any other cars on my lot you want". I was baffled by this email so I called and spoke with my sales person. She told me that someone came in the night before and bought the car, but if there was another car I wanted, she would be more than happy to help me. I was speechless because I was so disgusted with the way this whole car buying experience had gone. I just said " Thank you for your time" and hung up. I understand sales and how it works; I have been doing sales for over 12 years and I know what it's like to have someone on the line with a sale and someone else come in and want the same thing. It comes down to a moral dilemma for that sales person, especially when they're on commission. But they ran my already not so good credit 7 times then sold the car. Now I have no chance of getting a loan with that many inquiries on my credit report. After doing that, to not even have the courtesy to call and explain the situation is unacceptable. read more

Shopped at at least two other dealers within the Bay Area and spoke to 4 other Toyota dealers around. We decided to buy the car only from Tracy Toyota because of the response and the treatment Deborah offered right from the beginning. We weren't played into anything and she was transparent about the pricing all the way through, which we really liked and no other dealer offered. Johny closed the sale with us and he was really honest and let us be ourselves without having us go through the emotional roller coasters one would dread about dealing with dealers. SO I did talk to the Director of the service department. His comment for the tire pressure difference was sometime they may not have pump enough air to the tires. I've told him he is missing the point.The mechanic was writing some thing which he did not perform onto the service report. All he asked me to do was to bring in the car so he can fix them. He did not apologize but find excuses to defend the mechanics. And he did not mention anything about the loud radio and why the rattling sound was not detected. IF this is the attitude of the Director of the Service department, I am not surprised the mechanics would lie on the report. I will never visit this service center again. read more

I got a ride an hour an a half from San Francisco to Tracy Toyota to check out a Mazda 6 that looked like it was the perfect car for me. The salesman I talked to was reallllllyyy fucking nervous for some strange reason, even though he was talking to a 20 year old with zero experience buying a car. I test drove the car and about 10 seconds after getting back on the lot he asked me if I was ready to buy the car that day. I told him that I wasn't ready to purchase it quite yet, but he persisted in asking me a couple more times after I finished looking the car over. Typical car salesman, nothing too strange there although very annoying. I also talked to the his supervisor asking if they would be willing to hold the car for me with a deposit but according to Dale, or whatever his name was, this is illegal for car dealers to do (even though I know people who have done this countless times in the past). I accepted what he said and told him I would definitely be back in a couple days to purchase the car if it was still on the lot. 3 days later, I called the salesman back and asked him if the car was on the lot, and he told me nervously that he sold it to wholesale....after telling me he would try his best to hold it for me. The car had already been on the lot for 2 months before I got there and said that I wanted it, but apparently rather then holding a car for a customer for 3 days, Tracy Toyota feels the need to sell it to wholesale immediately. That makes perfect sense right? I had a feeling that getting a ride way out of my way to a shady dealership in Tracy, CA was a bad idea, and now I know I'll never be back there. read more

It's really disappointing that I am in the process of having to return a car I purchased from your dealership in Tracy. After coming in and looking for the perfect car we found the prius the we were looking for. We did the back and forth and finally came to an agreement. We were more than forthcoming with our information and finances and through the process, we continuously asked if we should wait til the banks are open so that way we are not worried about your dealership finding financing. After being reassured from the sales person as well as the finance manager we went through with the deal. Then, no contact for almost a week and a half after we called and asked if they were able to find financing, and we got no response until the 28th via email saying that they were still trying to find financing and if they didn't then we would need to return the car. This is the main reason we asked before we made the deal because we did not want this to be a problem. Then were told that we were sent a letter informing "sellers right to cancel" which we were familiar with already which is the reason we were trying to contact the finance department. The letter we finally received was dated the 20th sent out on the 21st and and delivered on the 23rd. If all that could happen it's hard to believe that we could not get a return phone call during the 10 days seeing as how we were very interested in finding out if they were able to provide financing. Now almost 3 weeks later we are having to return the car because your finance department, which said they would guarantee us financing, shook our hands and that we had "nothing to worry about" is demanding the car back as if we ever refused to do so. The experience in the beginning and during the sales process was great. Friendly service, informative and a not so bad process. But not the fact that this is happening really puts a sour taste in our mouth. I don't feel like the dealership is stepping up to their part of the process and trying to find a reasonable solution to something they "guaranteed" would not be a problem...so here we are having to return a car we already insured, ordered modifications for abs basically adapted into our everyday lives. It's just a sad situation that could have been avoided had they told us the truth in the beginning. The customer service we received in the beginning was great and we told people about it and recommended that people go there for their car needs. But after this experience and the fact that they are not willing to work with us in anyway and the demanding of the car justifies us feel like we were bamboozled. At this point the good reviews seem to be ridiculous and now we are having to let people really know how this dealership likes to smile and say everything is ok, when really its just a "promise" and "guarantee" they really holds no weight because when it's all said and done, as long as they date a paper for the 10th day and regardless of when we receive it (12 days later) they will just take your car away. If only a handshake held as much weight as it did in the past, and a person had to honor that handshake. Just a situation that we thought you should know about since it is your dealership that has done this to us, and who knows how many others. read more
