I purchased my Toyota Rav4 from Tracy Toyota in 2011. I have avoided their service department since 2012. My first visit for the tune up and once over was paid for, the car was washed and everything was fresh and running like new. 2nd visit was still a good one but they didn't wash the car and the foot paper was left inside the car. 3rd visit was the last repair I did with this branch. The service man at the time was George, I had seen him talk badly about the never stopping ringing of the phone in the service department, I had also heard him complain about other customers. This was the last time I brought my Toyota in for service at the Tracy Toyota Dealership. I had received a recall on my car a couple years after which I truly regretted having to take care of. I took it into the Toyota branch to get it fixed. They said it should be done by the end of the day but maybe not until the next. I asked if they would offer a rental in the even that it ran over the time they expected. I was told they do not offer rentals. Then never called back the first day and I had to call them before the department closed to find out status. It looked as if I would have to leave it over night. The next day I waited until about an hour before closing with no call from Toyota. They said they didn't have the part and that it wouldn't be ready until mid week. I then asked again if they would offer a rental and they did say yes this time but I had to get a ride down to the office before it closed. I was pissed and I have had 2 other recall notices sent to me on two other items that I refuse to get fixed because I don't want to have to go back to this HORRIBLE place. Over the past 5 years I have been servicing my Rav4 at Tracy Honda and the Service Team there is AWESOME!!! I love those guys, they are the creme of the crop when it comes to superb service, friendliness and they explain things so that you can understand what is going on. They take their time with every customer and I would recommend them hands down. My next car will be a HONDA FOR SURE! I feel that all Tracy Toyota employees, management and OWNER should be taken by the hand for a field trip over to Honda so they can see what customer service looks like. Fast forward to today and I have just paid off my Rav4, its mine and I want to get a good service done on it, a good wash and a feeling that my car is being treated with care. I have read the reviews on Yelp and it still looks as if Toyota of Tracy is still holding the record for the crappiest service around. I wanted to thank everyone for their reviews, even the long ones. It has truly helped me to know that I made the right decision 5 years ago to take my Rav to Honda for service and I will continue to do so until it breaks down and I trade it in for a Honda and support a company that in the end supports me. read more

Two weeks after having my little girl I saw an Outlander that I liked but my little one was nursing every single hour (or more frequently) and I was tied to the couch. Very personable and friendly, Knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I had originally went to Honda and the customer service was so horrible compared to Toyota and Vinicio. I had been coming here for years, Taking my moms car in since she is busy with her 24/7 Day Care. Never once was there an issue about me bringing the car in for a oil change and check up. But now they recently changed their policy without notifying via email,phone call or mail. And to quote the manager there "We don't have to notify you , It's not in the contract" Ok Fair enough so I came with my step-father who's name is on the title of the car and was there the day of purchase. And due to the mistake that Toyota made....The card for our oil change and check up says my stepdad's and mothers first names...but has my mothers maiden name..As she didn't take my stepdads last name. Now you would think ok...this is a simple fix...But no they refused to fix anything. Claiming that they don't make that card anymore because the car isn't manufactured anymore... Ok well we don't need the card...just change the name on the file system and BOOOM Fixed...But no it seems that fixing something that could literally take 10 minutes or less to fix is too hard for the under qualified rude manager working in back.. To top it off making comments about the fact my mother couldn't come down was highly unprofessional. My mother runs a 24/7 business and can't leave the house due to the fact she has children in her care.. And They began to argue and say " no one runs a 24/7 business" and say " oh yeah ? how does she get sleep?" I responded..she gets like 4 hours of sleep a day.. and the manager grunted and said "sounds like me" in the most condescending tone. And to top off they manager went to the GM ..OR SO HE CLAIMS and said that they can't change the name because it's not in their policy and claims the owner said the same thing. Honestly This sounds more like they didn't want to really help. Honestly I highly support that you do not trust this branch of Toyota dealers. And reminder to all. I just had a great experience buying my 2014 Tundra Crewmax from Tracy Toyota. Wii was the name of my salesmen and I also talked to the GM Mike and Ramen the finance guy. All three were a pleasure to deal with. I was a little obsessed about getting a particular config for my Tundra. It had only been out for 2 weeks or so. I'm from Reno and contacted around 20 dealerships looking for the truck. I finally found it in Tracy! They matched the best price I found and took a little more off of it. I've been comparing pricing around the country and I got as good of a deal on this brand new model as anyone did. Wii talked me through the process of buying the car out of state. They ended up having to drive the car back to Reno. I couldn't do this myself (cali state law). I thought I would be charged for this, but Wii drove it back for me free of charge. The dealership let me use a Prius to follow my truck in. That was also free of charge. When we got to Reno Wii walked me through the truck and showed me everything. He made sure I was happy and we both looked over every inch of the truck to make sure there wasn't any damage to it in the drive up from Tracy. Ramen was nice and talked me through everything. I know I was getting a decent deal compared to the other prices I've seen from people in forums. No high pressure sales or anything. Oh yah, I came in at about 8pm on the last day of rebates (new ones were going to get announced the next day but who knows what they would be). Ramen, Wii and the GM Mike stayed late so they could lock me in so I could get my $1,000 cash back rebate. Two more things: 1) I had to stay the night in Tracy so that I wasn't driving back in the dark. Wii drove me to my hotel. 2) Wii offered to take me out to breakfast the next day. I wanted to get back home so I declined, but that was very nice. I had great service and great experience at Tracy Toyota. I recommend them. read more

Went in Tuesday for my 5K inspection and had outstanding service! George was awesome in getting our car serviced in less than 40 min and even recommended an outstanding salesman, Wii when we asked about a Toyota Highlander. Wii was extremely helpful and friendly. No pressure just facts and benefits. He knows his cars and very up to date with the features on the new models. Will definitely go back for service and probably for our new SUV. read more

Every time I come here it is a time suck. Their shuttle only runs once an hour and if you miss it by 5 min your stuck. Something they fail to mention, they expect you to notice the fine print. They are not clear on what service you need or what is due. I don't know about cars so I have to rely on what they say. I HATE being heckled and followed by overly-persistent car salesmen/women... So, when Landon approached my dad and I in his easy-going and carefree manner, I honestly felt at ease! He never pressured us into looking at certain cars, but instead told us where the certified used cars were located, answered other questions we had, and gave us our space. He didn't go too far, but that distance was much appreciated. Took a test drive and he simply directed me on where to go, and didn't push too hard to sell me on the car I was in. I don't want to feel suffocated by salesmen/women trying to go after my money, so I believe I got lucky with Landon. After the test drive, I fell in love with the car and knew what my standard was. We left the lot to browse the other dealerships in the area and after an hour or so, we came back and asked for Landon. In the end, I left with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT and I couldn't be happier. I truly appreciate Landon's genuine personality and knowledge. He talked everything down for me, but was able to keep up a conversation with my dad (the car guy). He has most definitely set the bar pretty high for all future salesmen/women. Please beware of shopping here for a car!!! My credit is not the best at all but they had a car I wanted and I figured I would take a chance. My first problem with Tracy Toyota was just looking at the car I was interested in. 2 out of 3 sales people gave us false information about the used car's past ownership. Until I asked the final sales person for the carfax, we were misled that the car was a 1 owner car when the car was owned by 4 people, soon to be 5. The second issue with this dealership that provoked me to write this review was the amount of times my credit was run as I tried to purchase this car. I understand I have bad credit and I know that they were using several banks to try to get me approved. I was extremely grateful for them trying to get me approved. However, I was told go home that night and first thing in the morning, my finance guy would call the bank to personally speak with them to try to get me approved. That, to me, was going above and beyond for customer service and I was so grateful that a dealership was finally working with me to get me into a car. Well, the next morning I received an email from my sales person that said. "I am sorry, but we sold the car last night. Please let me know if there are any other cars on my lot you want". I was baffled by this email so I called and spoke with my sales person. She told me that someone came in the night before and bought the car, but if there was another car I wanted, she would be more than happy to help me. I was speechless because I was so disgusted with the way this whole car buying experience had gone. I just said " Thank you for your time" and hung up. I understand sales and how it works; I have been doing sales for over 12 years and I know what it's like to have someone on the line with a sale and someone else come in and want the same thing. It comes down to a moral dilemma for that sales person, especially when they're on commission. But they ran my already not so good credit 7 times then sold the car. Now I have no chance of getting a loan with that many inquiries on my credit report. After doing that, to not even have the courtesy to call and explain the situation is unacceptable. read more

I got a ride an hour an a half from San Francisco to Tracy Toyota to check out a Mazda 6 that looked like it was the perfect car for me. The salesman I talked to was reallllllyyy fucking nervous for some strange reason, even though he was talking to a 20 year old with zero experience buying a car. I test drove the car and about 10 seconds after getting back on the lot he asked me if I was ready to buy the car that day. I told him that I wasn't ready to purchase it quite yet, but he persisted in asking me a couple more times after I finished looking the car over. Typical car salesman, nothing too strange there although very annoying. I also talked to the his supervisor asking if they would be willing to hold the car for me with a deposit but according to Dale, or whatever his name was, this is illegal for car dealers to do (even though I know people who have done this countless times in the past). I accepted what he said and told him I would definitely be back in a couple days to purchase the car if it was still on the lot. 3 days later, I called the salesman back and asked him if the car was on the lot, and he told me nervously that he sold it to wholesale....after telling me he would try his best to hold it for me. The car had already been on the lot for 2 months before I got there and said that I wanted it, but apparently rather then holding a car for a customer for 3 days, Tracy Toyota feels the need to sell it to wholesale immediately. That makes perfect sense right? I had a feeling that getting a ride way out of my way to a shady dealership in Tracy, CA was a bad idea, and now I know I'll never be back there. read more

It's really disappointing that I am in the process of having to return a car I purchased from your dealership in Tracy. After coming in and looking for the perfect car we found the prius the we were looking for. We did the back and forth and finally came to an agreement. We were more than forthcoming with our information and finances and through the process, we continuously asked if we should wait til the banks are open so that way we are not worried about your dealership finding financing. After being reassured from the sales person as well as the finance manager we went through with the deal. Then, no contact for almost a week and a half after we called and asked if they were able to find financing, and we got no response until the 28th via email saying that they were still trying to find financing and if they didn't then we would need to return the car. This is the main reason we asked before we made the deal because we did not want this to be a problem. Then were told that we were sent a letter informing "sellers right to cancel" which we were familiar with already which is the reason we were trying to contact the finance department. The letter we finally received was dated the 20th sent out on the 21st and and delivered on the 23rd. If all that could happen it's hard to believe that we could not get a return phone call during the 10 days seeing as how we were very interested in finding out if they were able to provide financing. Now almost 3 weeks later we are having to return the car because your finance department, which said they would guarantee us financing, shook our hands and that we had "nothing to worry about" is demanding the car back as if we ever refused to do so. The experience in the beginning and during the sales process was great. Friendly service, informative and a not so bad process. But not the fact that this is happening really puts a sour taste in our mouth. I don't feel like the dealership is stepping up to their part of the process and trying to find a reasonable solution to something they "guaranteed" would not be a problem...so here we are having to return a car we already insured, ordered modifications for abs basically adapted into our everyday lives. It's just a sad situation that could have been avoided had they told us the truth in the beginning. The customer service we received in the beginning was great and we told people about it and recommended that people go there for their car needs. But after this experience and the fact that they are not willing to work with us in anyway and the demanding of the car justifies us feel like we were bamboozled. At this point the good reviews seem to be ridiculous and now we are having to let people really know how this dealership likes to smile and say everything is ok, when really its just a "promise" and "guarantee" they really holds no weight because when it's all said and done, as long as they date a paper for the 10th day and regardless of when we receive it (12 days later) they will just take your car away. If only a handshake held as much weight as it did in the past, and a person had to honor that handshake. Just a situation that we thought you should know about since it is your dealership that has done this to us, and who knows how many others. read more

The sales guy John lied to us about the price and the finance guy Mr. De Los Santos keeps you talking to distract you from looking at the paperwork, then has you sign papers that are folded, hiding the final price. I dont know how many times we asked for the FINAL price, and they showed us the lower price- which was NOT the final purchase price. They tried to get over 7k more on the printed paperwork. Mike Amin was the gentleman that helped me out through this process, I did not have to show him other dealerships offer but he had straight up given me the lowest interest and out the door price compared to others. That is how I knew this guy was a genuine person and truly went out of his way to make this process easier for both of us, we ended up buying not one but two cars in one day from him, ( one for me and one for my hubby). My first incident with this dealership was when I took my brand new car for scheduled maintenance and they did not fillup the oil to the proper level. the next day I got the flashing light on the dashboard telling me I am low on oil. They told me that it would be arriving within a few days, so I drove over from Pleasanton to buy it. When I arrived, I met the sales guy I talked with on the phone. He showed me the details on the car and I told him I would buy it. I had to wait for about an hour until his sales manager was available to discuss the sales price. I really didn't think there would be any issues since I was willing to pay MSRP, but they where unwilling to sell me the car without adding $3,000 worth of clear coat and window treatment. They droped the price to $1900, but there was no way I was willing to pay for them. I ended up just walking out and wasting half a day with them. I won't ever call them again or service my car with them again after this sales experience. read more

SO I did talk to the Director of the service department. His comment for the tire pressure difference was sometime they may not have pump enough air to the tires. I've told him he is missing the point.The mechanic was writing some thing which he did not perform onto the service report. All he asked me to do was to bring in the car so he can fix them. He did not apologize but find excuses to defend the mechanics. And he did not mention anything about the loud radio and why the rattling sound was not detected. IF this is the attitude of the Director of the Service department, I am not surprised the mechanics would lie on the report. I will never visit this service center again. read more

As soon as we arrived, we were immediately greeted by Gabriel. He was very helpful and very knowledgeable. He immediately took us to the vehicles that my husband and i were looking for. He showed us different options and was not hesitant to help us and work with our budget. After finding a vehicle that we liked, Johnny, the finance rep, really helped us find the best deal that would work for both parties. Very disappointed in the service department from this place. My wife brought in our truck to have them take a look at a loose molding that's holding the windshield (exterior side) and one of the weather strips on roof came off loose. She asked them to give her a call for a quote of how much the entire labor and parts would cost. Three hours later, they called us to let us know that the truck was done and that we have to pay $110 for the labor and materials? I asked them what they've use to fix the problem and said that they used a super glue to re attached the molding and weather strips and that there is no guarantee that it will hold? C'MON MAN! A super glue only cost $2.50! They could have told me this first hand and I could have done it myself and saved me the money. I am never going back to this place again. read more

The reason i would not return or recommend is because of finance manager. Not friendly, has superiority complex towards customers and other staff. I almost didnt purchase because of the 10 min interaction with him. I was considering 3 stars but sales staff was great. I purchased because deepac the sales rep. I purchased a prius and asked the finance manager about warranty of the hybrid battery and he told me it was 96 months or 100000 miles. I asked if i could by extended warranty for the battery. Finance manager told me that i could and it would cost $299 and that it would cover the battery for the life of the car. I thought, wow thats too good to be true, so I immediately purchased it. Come to find out the warranty was for the crank battery, not the hybrid which he did not tell me till i asked specifically. We were talking about the hybrid battery warranty but he tries to sell me a warranty for crank battery. Hence now im waiting for a $299 check from the dealership which i hope they send. The sales people are awesome, but when u get to finance dept, be extra careful. Thats where you're gonna get ripped off. Also i was paying a one time cash payment purchase and first contract he printed up was for 60 payments. Finance guy says its just in case your check bounces. I had to leave and get a cashiers check so he'll change contract to one payment. He knows my credit rating so its was a slap in the face to think i would bounce a check. Im watching my credit activity extra carefully because of this so called finance manager. BEWARE! UPDATE: It has now been 21 days since the purchase of my vehicle. I have not yet received my $299 which i have a due bill for. I tried to call the finance manager, but never get an answer. Im about to go down to tracy toyota tomorrow and demand my check. I am disgusted with the work ethnics of this dealership. I brought in my car because it wouldn't start. I agreed to pay for the diagnostic fee along with the basic oil change. They found out that the starter was bad and that I needed a new one. Ok, fine.Then they mentioned that the radiator needs to be replaced and that the positive battery cord had some corrosion and that it needed to be replaced as well. I knew of the radiator because I had a friend of mine who is a mechanic look at the car. Service then proceeded to ask me what would I like to do. I declined to take up the service at the dealership because of the pricing. I picked up my car, paid the diagnostic fee and oil change and brought it to another shop. TURNS OUT that yes, the starter was bad and so was the radiator but nothing was seen on the positive cord! NOTHING AT ALL. I asked the shop how much the positive cord would be if it was corroded, and he said it would've cost around $750 aftermarket for the part alone, and that was the cheapest price he could find. HOLY CRAP! The price at Tracy Toyota would've been $1000 for a part and service that was not needed. It's disgusting how low Tracy Toyota gets to try and squeeze money out of pockets of their customers. It makes me sick because I've had services prior to this and it cost me $$$.
