Service Department: CROOKS! I went in a couple of weeks ago and asked to have the maintenance light checked out. It was on due to the tire air pressure. The representative came out over an hour later and said that the tire had a nail in it and could not be patched up. She said the tire needed to be replaced for almost 300.00!!!! I bought a car from here literally two weeks ago and the A/C went out. Thank God I got a warranty but even getting the rental was a bit of a hassle. My car has now been in the shop for 7 days but the rental was only for 5 days. When I pulled into today to drop off the rental and pick up my car they said the claim was not done but I see it sitting in the parking lot not being worked on 6 days after I dropped it off. So now I'm here without a car not able to extend the time I have the rental because the warranty company won't extend unless for good reasons for which I was told "miscommunication is not one of them" making me have to pay for Tracy Toyota's mistakes. The fact that my car needs to be in the shop for a week (and possibly longer) two weeks after buying it off the lot is crazy. I definitely will not be getting my next car from here as I feel many other dealerships will give you better quality cars (especially telling from the other reviews on here) and treat your problems with the respect and urgency they deserve , instead of keeping you out the loop. read more

My review is for the dealership department of Tracy Toyota. This past December (2014), for reasons beyond my control, I was forced to replace my old vehicle. I decided it was time to get something from 2010 or newer. However, the thought of dealing with a car dealership was far from appealing. I've dealt with quite a few in the past, and simply put, I'd rather go to the damn dentist than spend hours haggling with car dealers. So when my wife and I had a really great experience at Tracy Toyota, it was a little unsettling. After searching the internet and hitting up a couple other Toyota dealers, we couldn't find what we wanted at the price we wanted. Finally, my wife found a 2011 Toyota 4-Runner that had the options we were look for, and it was linked to Tracy Toyota. My wife talked to a friendly sales representative named Tina over their website chat, and we were able to come to terms with what we thought was a fair and reasonable price. Their chat only took about ten minutes. Additionally, they agreed to match our credit union's extremely low APR, as long as our credit checked out. After working things out over chat, we agreed to drive from San Jose to Tracy the next day and check out the vehicle, to make sure it met our standards as advertised. Tina said they would hold the vehicle, and get it prepped for us. Upon arriving the next day, we met with Luda at the dealership, and after a test drive, sealed the deal. We got the vehicle we wanted at a great price, and with our credit, great APR. Luda took good care of us and explained things very well. Next we were to meet with their Finance Director Ramen. I couldn't help but think, this is weird, it's too easy. Shouldn't I be pissed off and annoyed by now? Nope. Ramen was awesome. The guy is experienced, explains things well, and didn't make us feel pressured. He made sure we had a good understanding of everything before all the paperwork was signed. He was easy to talk to, and we felt relaxed the entire time. We were then introduced to their manager Kipp, who thanked us for the purchase and made sure we knew about a couple additional items in the vehicle. It turned out Kipp was the one who agreed to our pricing terms. For us, this car buying experience was a good one. It was the very first time in my life that I actually caught myself smiling while going through the process. I'm extremely frustrated with the service department at this dealership. As part of the purchase of our Prius last year, we got free services along with cleaning of our vehicle inside and out every 6 months. Yet, we took the car in for service and their communication among employees is so poor that the only service they completed was the recall services. We had to go back for the maintenance and cleaning which we made an appointment for. We took it back and they completed the maintenance, but only cleaned the outside of the vehicle. They said they only clean the inside once a year (even though we were told every 6 months), but we've had the car for a year now and hadn't taken the car in for the cleaning services. So, even though we haven't had the cleaning, they're system had. Notes that it was cleaned. So, now we have to make yet another appointment to go back for the interior cleaned. If all these services weren't free, I wouldn't bother going there at all, but these services were part of the selling point of the vehicle, especially the cleaning since we have 2 young children. read more

Nearly every visit to Tracy Toyota has some sort of issue. My last visit I drove into the express oil/no appointment lane. With my wife waiting in another car, I sat in this lane for 25 mins with only one car ahead of me and still no service advisor. There is nothing express about the oil change here. It was better when oil changes were operated separately at the other building. I went to another oil change business and completed an oil change in 10 minutes. read more

Do NOT buy a car from this dealership!!! I went to trade in a vehicle that I bought from them 2 years ago. The dealership gave me a carfax report that was different than the one Tracy Toyota gave me when selling the vehicle. The one Tracy Toyota gave me had lines missing from a damage reported from a year before I bought the vehicle as well as the line that said moderate to severe damage. This dealership deliberately hid papers from the report and tampered with lines on the paperwork in order to make a sale. They saw a 21 year old young girl buying a car by herself and thought they could get away with hiding and changing information. Spoke with Muhammad the used car sales manager and he absolutely did not care about the fraud they are committing here. I highly recommend buying from ANY other dealership than this one since honesty is the least of their concerns. DO NOT buy a car from this dealership or let anyone you know buy a car from this dealership. read more

My husband and I brought in our Highlander for a routine maintenance on a Saturday and was going to chat with the guys there about our lease that was expiring in November. We wanted to know if we can end our lease and buy our next car. Well Johnny Aviles helped us with that. We weren't ready to buy a new car that day but his assurance made us feel like we should. Just bought a new Highlander after significant research and email haggles with other dealers. Landon Cotton in Internet Sales was great - emailed a good price, and accepted our offer for the trade-in. Low-key environment, not a bunch of b.s., transaction took about 2 hours (we were there on 1/2 during an incentive event so they were busy). Superior response than other dealers, and working with Landon helped us avoid hassles and haggling. He made decisions himself, which sped up the process and reduced the bs factor. If I could give them zero stars I would! We came in today to test drive a Prius Prime. After we said that it wouldn't work for us because it only seats 4 people, we asked to test drive the CHR, and the corolla IM. The sales man asked us to go to the front of the lot to look at them and he'd be right out. We waited for over 20 minutes in the very hot sun and gave up. We will not be coming to this dealership again. They just lost a sale. read more

I went to Tracy Toyota to get my Scion TC serviced and was extremely happy (I live in Modesto). Curtiss helped me all the way through the process, I went in for an oil change but I knew other things were bound to come up. Previously I went to Modesto Toyota which would never tell me things my car needed, well that was not the case here, Curtiss came and explained everything that was going on and prices for everything, he kept me updated through the whole visit, rather than me just sitting there wondering when my car would be finished. I will happily drive to Tracy again it is defiantly worth the drive. And when I am in the market for a new car I plan on going here! read more

we've been told that our tire tread is getting low and needs to be replaced the last two service appointments.. We finally decided to go in and use this tire warranty that we purchased and were told covered our tires. We were even told if we ding up our rim they will replace it.. Boy were we lied to.. So they wont cover our tires unless something were to happen from eligible road hazards. Well what do you know. My family and I get a flat driving on the freeway. We get the donut on and call first thing the next morning at 9am made sure they had a tire in stock and they scheduled us for 10:30am to get it replaced. I told them at 9am we will be using our tire warranty for it. My husband gets there just after 10 and was told at 10:30 the warranty center closes at 11am so they might not get this taken care of. My husband checks back in at 10:45am and was told by service that they talked to the warranty center but has to call back because he needs to get the specs and details off the tire from the guys in the back who have the car. Well 11:30am comes and my husband checks to make sure they are getting it replaced and was told they were unable to get to it in time and we need to come back a different day. They never even got in the car. It was parked right around the corner from the service drive up. I am so dissatisfied and disappointed in the lack of care for customers. I feel so taken advantage of about the lies I was fed for these warranties that I paid a lot of money for. A 3rd party extended bumper to bumper warranty, false information on a tire warranty and we were never told about the toyota care oil changes that COME with purchasing the car. read more

I have been using this location for over 10 years to service 2 cars. Recently we brought our Prius in to be serviced. When we received the car back the dashboard display that shows how fast your going as well as other data was completely blank. I went back in and was immediately told that this was not the fault of the dealership, that it is a known issue but because it happened outside of a signaled period they could not help me and I had to call corporate if I wanted something done. This was not the kind of response I was expecting after spending huge amounts in maintenance costs over the last 10 years. I will strongly caution any current or potential customers that if you do encounter any issues at this facility that they will be met with a throw your hands up, this is not our fault mentality and the manager will not be available to help. This is Tracy Toyota, not a slimy auto repair shop, but to have your car returned to you with a major defect that did not exist before you brought it in and than to be told that it's not their fault, call corporate and no manager is available makes this entire situation unfathomab. Also interesting warning on site that good reviews coming from same address. Obviously they are cheating to try and raise their rating. read more

This is my first review on yelp. I had such great service at Tracy Toyota that it deserved a good review. I was not planning on buying a car tonight. The family and I had just gone out for an early dinner. While I was surfing the web on my phone, I saw the local Tracy Toyota finally had a Tundra in inventory that I had been looking for. I called the sales line and the person who assisted verified the truck was actually in stock. Once he confirmed it was there, he mentioned it was his birthday and he had to leave but he arranged my visit with Deepak. He mentioned Deepak would be ready with keys in hand. So he went through all that trouble and he wasn't even going to benefit from the sale. This was the first thing that impressed me. Deepak was excellent the moment I met him. Totally cool and smooth attitude. If he didn't know an answer to my question, he would clearly say instead of lying and he would find out the answer right away. He took his time. Keep in mind this is about an hour before they close on a Sunday night. I was in a rush... he wasn't at all. He wanted to make sure I looked at the truck in detail to make sure I was choosing the right model. Once negotiations began, Deepak mentioned he was going to ask Landon to assist us since he was fairly new and he wanted to make sure I was taken care of correctly. During our negotiations, Landon was professional and very courteous. We had a few back and forths with different aspects of the negotiation itself but every single second, Landon was extremely professional and did not make me feel bad in any way. I really appreciated this. In the past, this is where the customer service goes out the door. Once we agreed on the appropriate pricing, Landon and Deepak both made sure everything was getting coordinated properly from the detailing/preparation of the vehicle to the financing preparations. Once again, Im more worried than they are that its already 30 minutes past closing. I feel really bad about this but the entire team stayed more than an hour and a half after closing to get this deal done. The sales team, detail/car wash team and the finance team. Not once did they rush me or give me short answers. This is excellent customer service. I was the one rushing.... I was planning on just seeing the truck and coming over the next day if I wanted to purchase. The final step in the finance office was a great experience as well. Robbie had a cool attitude as well. He didnt just throw pages in my face. He explained everything and answered everything with detail (again, 1 hour after closing). To the entire team that helped me tonight, my sincere apologies and my sincere gratitude for making this one of the smoothest car purchases I have made in quite some time. read more

Tracy Toyota has been our worst experience with car dealers by far! We were well aware that under the Cars for Clunkers program Prius cars were being sold rapidly. We did our research online and called dealers to check if they had any Prius II in stock, prices, etc. Tracy Toyota was listing about 4 different ones on their website but we knew that dealers weren't able to update their online listings fast enough given the high number of customers they were having so, just like with all the other dealers, we called in advance to confirm what they had in stock. We talked to a woman in sales who told us that they had 4 Prius II in stock and that we could check this online. We told her we knew this but that we also knew that dealers weren't keeping websites up to date so we wanted to make sure. She assured us that they had that. We called a second time right before leaving our home and another lady assured us that they had 4 in stock. Thinking that the over 1 hour trip from San Jose to Tracy was worth it if they actually had a good inventory of Prius and for a lower price than any listed around here, we decided to make the trip right after hanging up with the second lady. When we get there they tell us that they only had a Prius IV that was going way over than any others we found around here. When we told the sales people that we were told they had 4 in stock and that is the only reason we made the trip they couldn't answer us but continued pushing for us to buy the Prius IV or look at other cars. We were never allowed to speak face-to-face to the two ladies that we spoke to over the phone and no one even apologized or tried to make up for the almost 3 hours we lost going there and coming back. At the end of the day we got a Camry Hybrid from the Toyota in Palo Alto. They had excellent customer service and did their best to keep payments within our budget. DON'T waste your time going to Tracy!! It is not worth it at all! I wouldn't even give it the one star if I didn't have to! read more

Just bought a new 2017 Sienna with Robert Morales, Internet Manager, who was highly recommended by a friend who had just bought a Camry. We had a great experience. He was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He helped us find the best discounts and rebates and we ended up with a great deal on a great van. We worked with him over the phone at first and then made an appointment. He had the van cooled-off and ready when we arrived (it was 108!) and we went for an immediate test drive. We are very happy with the service that Robert gave us. If it ended there with Robert, we would give this review 5 stars easily. We were a little less pleased with the Finance Manager who gave us the hard sell on the all the extras, which took a lot of time. He was pleasant enough and did the job, but we could have done without the scare tactics. Just present the info and let the customer make the decision. Overall a very good experience. No hard sales pitch when time for me to choose which package I'd like at my 90k oil change for Larry my 2010 Prius. She was very informative, listened to my thoughts and questions and answered honestly. My thumb ring slipped from my finger and fell somewhere in the steering column. Jen communicated this to the service technician who used a magnet dohicky to look for it. Although the ring could not be located Jen assured me that my steering column was enclosed and there should be no malfunctions as a result. I am in the middle of trying to figure out what car I would like to re-lease after my lease is up in June. Unfortunately, after trying to go in to test drive (apparently it's a cardinal sin if you do not have an appointment) and being told I can only drive 1 car, and I should've went to the dealership somewhere else, I felt like the salesman thought other things were important. While this was super off-putting, I kept on going because I was super excited to try out the new Venza (even though I really wanted to try a Highlander Hybrid, and they lied about their inventory). I was told I needed to take a short test drive because my salesman is busy (not sure why he needed to go with me, every other dealer has let me drive solo on more expensive cars). My salesman seemed incredibly irritated during the drive. Feeling completely defeated and like it didn't matter if they sold me a car or not, I let the salesman know I was leaving and that was it. Tracy Toyota, do better. I was really considering purchasing from you, but that ship has now sailed. Great customer service is never easy, but horrible customer service is even harder. read more

I have to say all the people at Tracy Toyota have been great! The were very good on the price and the parts guys did right by me to put upgraded new tires and rims on the Tacoma TRD a bought. It is a great looking truck. I will add that I was looking at the Colorado and Canyon trucks and went to 4 different dealers. ALL of them would not give discounts other then advertised and some of the sales people were so rude. SO, buy from Tracy Toyota, they are great. read more
