Fun summer place. Good music wonderful views. Outside Bar is nice place to be on a cape summer night.

It not the business that's the problem but the owner. My friends and I wanted to go to the S.I.N. Nights so we were handed by the bar, a VIP pass for a Monday. So we go to get in line, the owner (drunk as hell) comes up to us and says I'm not letting you in and started giving us a hard time about how we got our passes. I would have been OK with the yelling but don't yell in my face and my friend's faces with your drunk breath so he kinda screwed up the night for us really but after we got inside we sat down. I noticed everyone who works here is drunk?? I thought you were suppose to make money not drink it away and what's with the stuck up bartender (drunker then the bottle holding the liquor haha) at the little bar near the pool? The owner gave him too much power to throw people he doesn't like out of the bar..? And what's with the "dance contest" I thought it was a "dance contest" not a twerk contest?? My girlfriend and I were in Hyannis for an Anniversary and were looking for something OFF of Main Street. We did realize that it is still off season, in Cape Cod Rules, but we were hoping for some kind of life ! We notice this place on one of those cartoon maps we got in our hotel lobby. Now, it is a little tough and confusing to get to, but once you find it, you are going to want to rent property near by to stay as long as possible. I have never felt so welcomed, especially at a somewhat local bar, in my entire life. The drinks are strong and cheap. They do have frozen Island Oasis drinks, but no real person orders those. You have a drink off of their drink menu. So I ordered the Tini Bikini for my girlfriend and I had their version of a Hurricane. BOTH DELICIOUS !!!!! Next we just wanted a small snack because we had been shopping all day on Main street. Since they just opened this week, the menu was a bit limited. I asked Paul the bartender what he recommends, and his advice changed our thoughs on " pub food ". We got the Sweet Chili Wings. Now I will say that my girlfriend is an overly picky eater, and by that I mean that she would NEVER eat chicken on the bone. Well she burried half of this order. It made us re-think our reservations to the Roadhouse (and we should have, it's like Florida's population stopped off here for a $ 35.00 filet mignon before they went back to finish out their lives). We went back that night after dinner and we were introduced to locals, people bought us drinks, I bought back. Atmosphere reminds me of what Cheers did in their TV show. The have a sign over the bar that best explains this place. Now don't quote me, but it is along the lines of: There are no Strangers Here, just Friends we haven't met yet ! No truer words were spoken. I even joked with Paul and the owner, John after we were shown around the grounds that I may have to bring back 50 wings and a quart of that sauce. Well when we went back the next day, on our way back to Boston, just to say thanks again and to eat more wings for lunch, don't you know that they had a quart of sauce waiting for us to take home. Now listen, the ENTIRE CAPE is over priced. I paid $ 10.00 for scrambled eggs and bacon on Saturday morning on Main Street. This bar is NOT over priced. Even if it was, I would go back to hang with Paul, Kristen, John and even Stephanie who was a little quiet at 12:00 on Sunday morning, understandably at first and then opened up once that bar was full, 20 mins after opening. Trader Ed's Tiki Bar has made me a vacationer on the Cape now, where us North Shore Massachusetts people rarely roam. read more

Yuuuuuuuuuck. Did I go to a different place than the other reviewers? A friend brought us here, he said we'd like it. When we left we asked him "Were you drunk when you came here? What part of it did you think we'd like?" Bad ambience (depressing concrete pool area, tightly packed tables of white resin), bad food (sh*tty microwaved frozen garbage), bad service (sweet young girls, pleasant, but rushing around like crazy, actually RUNNING at times ...it wasn't that busy). This was a GREAT spot for a low-key bachelorette hang-out. We scored a corner couch spot which was perfect for us. Food was pricey but that is to be expected in the came. The "Electric Lemonade" was so delicious, it was dangerous. The pool was refreshing and the place seemed clean. There was a good mix of couples, groups of friends and kids, we didn't feel like we stuck out though as a group of bachelorettes. We liked it so much during the day that we came back "after-dark" to do some dancing around the pool. I took a stay away only because I think the staff could've been a bit more friendly. read more

Don't eat there. Paper plates and plastic ware. Don't go there for thursday night lobster dinners they advertise 5-9 pm. We were the second party there at 5:00PM and they asked if we had reserved a lobster... huh? The next party in said they would be getting the lobster dinner. After getting their drinks the waitress came back out and said they didn't have any lobsters left. So they left and she still charged them for the drinks. Staff is really clueless when it comes to the food but dress as prostitutes to compensate (I didn't know they made dresses that short). read more

Trader Eds was first on our stop of bar hopping for a bachelorette night out. The Bar tenders were extremely welcoming and nice! They even gave us a free round of shots to celebrate. :) Not only that but the owner called ahead to another bar to make sure we would be well received there and avoid paying a cover! Trader Ed's is not a bar, it's a big party that happens to have a bar. First off, it's hidden away in a marina, far from the tourists (except resourceful tourists like us). Secondly, there is a pool...no, not a pool table - an actually pool in the middle of the outside area!! We stopped by after the owner of the bar we were previously at told us this was the place to be...the aforementioned bar was a hotspot and we were chatting up the owner who was giving us suggestions for our friends who summer in the Cape. This is a super secret local's only place (thanks for not kicking us out) and I can't wait to check it out again next year! read more

I am a local and have been for 57 yrs. and yes, most times I go there it is a negative experience. I have been treated rudely by waitress and other staff. The prices are crazy. They have no business treating folks the way they do. Doubt if I will ever go again. I've tried to give them another chance but don't think it will happen again. We're locals, and used a gift certificate at Trader Ed's. My favorite summer treat is a good lobster salad or lobster roll. I have had three this summer already at two "chain" restaurants, and the results were absolutely dismal. The lobster salad Trader Ed's delivered to my table was packed, and I mean packed, with claw and knuckle meat --- big chunks, just as they described with a little bit of mayo, not drenched as other restaurants do to stretch out the seafood portion. Huge portion of fresh from the sea lobster. The greens were mixed greens, with lovely red and yellow peppers, great big slices of fresh cucumbers. The whole experience was DEEEEElightful. We will be back. The service was topnotch as well. read more

As we were walking in, we weren't even sure if we should stay, it was a chilly afternoon, only one family at one table. As we were standing there trying to decide if we should stay, John came right up to us, made us feel so welcome so we decided to give it a try. John turned on the fire pit table by the couches and as we began to warm up we settled in for a great experience. Ashley, our server, was wonderful-her suggestions for food and drink were spot on. The mahi mahi, fish & chips and even the hot dogs and grilled cheese with bacon our kids had, were excellent. The fish and chips was some of the best I have ever had, huge portion, very fresh and the breading was light & crispy, with no heavy fry oil taste. Sitting pool side, outside, next to the docks filled with boats of every kind was perfect! We will definitely be back!!! It is tucked away-kind of hard to find, but very much worth the effort. read more

A few years ago we were looking for a half-decent place to drink and dance and Trader Ed's was recommended to us by a bartender at our favorite restaurant. We went early one evening to check it out and found ourselves in a very small and oddly-shaped, not very welcoming room filled with men in business casual, not exactly conducive to dancing or drinking. The outside wasn't much better, the property - on the whole - seems unfinished and somewhat shabby - like we're drinking at a motel pool undergoing renovations.We never got around to ordering a drink. Being the Cape, and this place being around for longer than most, we may be forced to give it another chance. Maybe it will be fun next time. read more

We visited the Cape for Memorial Day Week and went to Trader Ed's only to be greeted with no parking spaces (we had to valet park) a $5.00 cover at the door during daylight hours for some shabby elder Karaoke singing gent, a ladies room that stunk of urine, and a limited menu that they were out of several things we tried to order. Then I ordered a Washington Apple at the Cash Bar outside and ended up with some connoction that the bartender dreamed up. He graciously exchanged it for the correct drink (which stunk) and charged me an arm and a leg. Don't think we will be going back there any time soon. I do not stay at the Cape often but my boyfriend and I had plans to vacay near Hyannis so I wanted to find the most alluring and all-around-fun bar near the bay. I had discovered Trader Ed's pool bar by all of the amazing recommendations that it upheld online; their website's description and pictures proved enough of an enticement to visit! I would have to say that this was one of the best experiences I have ever had on the Cape. It was everything I had hoped to get out of it. Trader Ed's captures the true Cape Cod feel for it is located on a beautiful marina overlooking the Hyannis harbor. The outside cabana bar and pool deck offers a beachy and tropical feel; I enjoyed the fire lamps that decorated the exterior of the deck, it provided the perfect touch of warmth on a semi-cool early summer night. I had spent most of the night in the indoor bar. The staff and bartenders were amazing!! They were extremely kind and attentive to all customers on a busy night. My boyfriend and I even received free shots! I had the opportunity to meet the owner, John, who was one of the friendliest and most welcoming people I had ever met. He had made sure to make both my boyfriend and my night perfect. I guarantee an amazing night out at this bar for any young adult/adult age group. Not only are the customers enjoyable to be around but the staff truly made my night as entertaining and fun as it was. I will most definitely be back to visit Trader Ed's. Unfortunately, I was not able to dine there and try any of their dishes but I hope to in my next visit this summer! read more

Stopped in this weekend after a friend told us about it, A friend and I had lunch and a couple of rum inspired drinks. I had a fish sandwich and my friend had grilled chicken it was all very good, reasonable and the waitress was very pleasant. We were there pretty early so it was quiet but the bartender was very nice when we asked questions about the area and we will definetly go next time we are at the cape. read more

I travel to the Cape every summer and try to make it to Trader Ed's on the Hyannis Harbour a few times. Great lobster rolls and steak tips that compare to most places on the Cape - bar menu isn't too bad either. The staff are friendly and the waitresses are quite attractive which adds to the beauty of the harbour. Me, being Irish, and not caring too much for the sun usually sit at the bar and chat to the locals, but when the sun goes down I have no better time than going outside and having a bit of a dance on the dance floor. Gets very busy at weekends so sometimes you have to stand in line if you don't arrive early. read more

Just a heads up about their valet on Monday nights...THEY LEAVE YOUR KEYS IN YOUR CAR UNLOCKED!!!! If you park in the lot, you have no option but to valet. Very annoying, I can park my car myself. When I noticed them just running to the cars and opening the doors, no valet stand/key box, that's when it clicked. I asked the valet and he confirmed with me and then proceeded to argue that they have security cameras. Yea, when all your shit is already stolen! This place was great! There were 3 of us, and we had never been there before. We were celebrating a birthday! The service was great! The drinks were great! And the atmosphere was fun! My boyfriend and I came here on our last night in Cape Cod. We came a little later for dinner, so they ID'd us as we were coming in. There was a live DJ and we got a nice table next to a space heater because it was a little chilly. The view was beautiful and we got to catch the sunset over the boats. We ordered wings and drinks. The drinks were delicious, the service was good. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. There were places to sit or there were little tables you could stand at and socialize. Being next to the pool was pretty cool too. And the valet parking was free. We really enjoyed our time here. read more

On a recent trip to Hyannis I stopped into Trader Ed's for some harbor side food and drinks. Simply stated Ed's was wonderful. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. One night they have a very low priced lobster dinner special. The ladies tending bar and serving do a great job and are very attractive. There is nothing better than sitting by Ed's pool drinking cold ones and enjoying the view across the marina to Hyannis Harbor. Be sure to ask about their special parties and entertainment. This weekend was the second time that I have been to Trader Ed's. We were there for a bachelorette party and decided to give it a try. It's definitely a party place during the later hours which is what we were looking for on this ocassion. My husband and I and our two kids (4 & 1) are in the cape a lot and it's not the type of place that we would go to as a family but it was fine for a bachelorette party...until the end of the night. We had thirteen girls with us and three of us (me and my two sisters) had some trouble getting a cab. We had called about 45 minutes before the bar was closing but come closing time the cab was not there yet. Along with a few other customers waiting for rides, we were asked to wait on the back of the building because they had a gate they needed to close. We complied with the request and called the cab company again to let them know where we would be waiting. Then, the drunk owner came out back and was so incredibly rude to me and my two sisters. He was screaming, yelling, swearing at us, scolding us for not calling a cab earlier. He was totally wasted and absolutely out of control. We did not know what to do so we just stayed quiet and did what he asked (no sense in trying to reason or argue with someone in that state). He made us cross the street and stand on the other side to wait for our cab. I was so appauled by the way he was acting but there was not much we could do that late at night. I certainly wasn't going to argue with him as we were now alone with him and his security guard who told us he was going to do whatever the boss told him to do as he herded us across the street behind the bar. The security guard was nice enough to warn us that cars go about 60 mph down this back street that we were on and that we should stand as far back as we could (there was only about a 4 foot strip of grass before a fence that was blocking us from moving back any further). He was absolutely right, it was dangerous to be where we were. After a little while, we asked if we could cut through the parking lot to go and see if our cab was waiting in the front. We were told "no" and that we would have to walk around the block, about 1.5 miles, to get back to the front. I wanted to cry, my sister did cry, finally our cab came! Don't give this jerk your money. There are plenty of nice places on the cape. read more

What started out as a lovely atmosphere turned into the worst dining and drinking experience my friends and I ever had. The waitress had a 'tude but we didn't think much of it until we ordered drinks, apps, and entrees and waited 30+ minutes for our food to come out. It was a Monday- not busy. The food came out all together. We waited 15 more minutes for plates and as our food got cold, the two tables that had been sat after us paid their bills and left. We then begged another waitress to get us plates who got them after forgetting them a few times. I got another drink and she brought one completely different from what I ordered. We then went inside to the bar where the rudest bartender I ever met told me she didn't know what I was talking about when I ordered the same drink I had at dinner and slapped a menu in front of me while saying "this is what we have."
