Stopped by unexpectedly in a Tuesday afternoon for a happy hour pick me up with 3 kiddos in tow. We had some half priced apps (weekdays 3-5), kids had some virgin strawberry daiquiris and we had a couple not so virgins. Waitress was great and food was as expected. Check, however, was pricey. Over 100 for 3 half priced apps, 4 drinks and 3 kids drinks. That was rough. Can't say I wouldn't be back, but know what you're getting yourself into! Came here yesterday for a late lunch before heading back to the city. There was good music, people having fun in the pool and nice scenery. The place is nothing fancy, but the food was good and the service was even better. All the servers were friendly and had smiles on their face, one even filled out water bottles before leaving. We will definitely be back, hopefully in time for the live music next time. read more

This place was terrible and we actually didn't even eat there. We came from Connecticut to eat at Trader Ed's, (after seeing the restaurant had a pool, the kids were hooked), and they were sadly disappointed. You need a marina slip to swim in the pool, and we don't own a boat or have a marina slip. If we had eaten there, kids with parents who have marina slips would have been swimming in the pool on that scorcher of a day. My kids would have been sad. So we went across the water to a nicer restaurant with a beautiful view of the water. It is called " Dock Side". The food is excellent. We drove to Trader Ed's for nothing; their website should say, " You need a marina slip to swim in the pool". read more

Let me preface this by saying that we called WAY ahead to alert the bar that we would be coming for a Bachelorette Party with around 20 girls. We got there and waited and waited and waited for someone to come get our drinks. Some people got their drinks after 5 minutes others waited 45 minutes. At that point I was ready to leave but traveling in that large of a group is not easy. Our server told us this was her first time serving and she was working on her skills. Who gives a Bachelorette party of 20 a brand new server? So it came time to order our food, only half the food came out after about a half hour, people were still waiting for their drinks. Another 45 minutes passed and we had to call the manager to get the remainder of the food, which the server "forgot" to put some of it in. The manager trashed on the cook in the kitchen and how awful the kitchen is and the cook only has one eye......SERIOUSLY! Just say sorry and move on. We finally got our food and it was awful but barely edible......needless to say we did not stay there for the night and would NEVER go back. read more

Place is a joke, if you're not there on your trust fund money you will be treated like a dog. Also girls if you're over a size 4 don't even bother. I had cut my foot and asked a bouncer, two waitresses and the manger for a band aid and they all basically told me to fuck off. Nope, just nope. Upon entering the premise and reaching the host stand, we were asked to pay a $10 cover. We were both stupid enough to actually fork over the $10 and for a less then sub par experience. The drinks had no alcohol and I was dead sober at the time, haha oh wait, I still am while writing this 1 hour later after leaving Trader Ed's for the Black Cat. The food was honestly terrible, my oysters came with a spoon not a fork and my friends steak tips were dry and cold. Dry and cold should never be how one describes food. The waitress was nice enough, but I am not sure she told management about how disappointed we were, which could have turned the situation around. I am still not sure what the $10 cover was for even now. Moral of the story, just don't go but if you do happen upon Trader Ed's, the Black Cat Tavern is 9 mins down the road and the staff is happy and friends and the food actually worth it. read more

This waterfront bar is hands down my favorite restaurant on cape cod. The service was great, the food was incredible, and the drinks were refreshing and creative. I randomly found this place using a GPS. The food was typical bar food. The drinks were typical frozen concoctions. I was here between lunch and dinner, so the place was sort of dead, except for the solo creepy-girl swimming in the pool [with all her clothes on...]. For whatever reason or another I had sticker shock when the bill arrived and it somehow was almost $200 for 4 people, and we were only there for about an hour. I would give Trader Ed's the fifth star if they just had a better beer selection. This place is a delight. Tucked away in a marina, overlooking Hyannis harbor. It has its own pool. It's incredibly airy. You HAVE to sit at the bar to eat. It reminds me of a place at which they would have hung out in "Wings"... but more modern, obviously. No pleated pants. Clientele ranges from wicked rich people who have their boats parked in the marina to your Cape Cod local. You HAVE to try the steak tip sandwich. It'll rock your world. read more

Well aren't you a little fun bar? There's literally a pool... There's no swim up bar, but all the tables are surrounding the pool. Pretty fun. Apparently this place can get hoppin. The food was ok. The servers were friendly... pretty sure they have "pretty young white female" as part of the job description. It's right on the water so there's a good view and a nice breeze. This is a lunch review. It's our habit to find a cheap and fun place to eat on Fridays, and Trader Ed's was our pick this week. Trader Ed's at Hyannis Harbor is a bit of a chameleon. First, it's somewhat hard to find being tucked in toward the back of the Hyannis Harbor parking lot. Secondly, it apparently changes with the time of day, from a chill harbor-side lunch spot to a happening night club as the sun goes down. It was not busy during the lunch hour on this particular Friday. The menu is a decent selection of sandwiches and dinners, all very reasonably priced for this prime location. I had a barbecue chicken sandwich and my partner had a tuna melt, plus two sodas (and a ton of free refills) for a total of $30 (before tip). The service was frequent and friendly. We didn't check out the bar, although it looked inviting and fun (I had to go back to work). We'll be back. read more

We called to check on reservations and opening times, the girl on the phone was incredibly abrasive and rude. When we showed up they treated us like underage kids who did not belong in the establishment. The food was mediocre and they seemed like they just wanted my group out of the establishment. My family and I have been coming to Trader Ed's every summer for the last 5 years. We always take 2 separate vacations to the cape and come to Trader Ed's at least 3x every vacation. First year did not get that great of an impression. I mean, everything is beautiful and all, but we noticed the owner stopping by every table to have a small conversation with all the guests but not our table, so right then and there that was somewhat disrespectful. He did notice he somehow messed up and did come say hi and spent some minutes talking to us. Drink/food/waitress service was great that night. Fast forward to the next couple of years everything was good, every-time we'd go there good service, good drinks etc ... fast forward to this year 2020, we went there twice this time around. First night we we somewhat of a decent waitress, we asked for oysters (we made sure to call and ask if they had them) we were told yes, we get there we place our orders, one of the people in our party wanted oysters and we were told they didn't have it, another wanted a salad and they also said they didn't have it, a lobster roll And they also didn't have it, and that already made our night go from pleasant to decent. We still decided to order something else, but as she was bringing the drinks and foods she actually waited for us to take them out of her tray. Seriously !?! She realized she had messed up and quickly turned it around. Yesterday we went there one last time before going heading home from our vacation. Again we called 10 min before, not sure who answered the phone, but we were guaranteed they had many many oysters available. We get there and sit ourselves down because during this pandemic they're just having people sit wherever. We ask for one paper menu for one of the parties in our table because the cellphone service is terrible there and we could not access the online MENU through QR reader and the waitress says ... "we don't have paper menus due to Covid." - that is a lie, we had been there 3 days prior with a party of 5 and spent $300 and we were all given paper menus. We had only asked for one. We then asked her, the phones aren't getting reception here how are we suppose to access this menu, she looked at us and shrugged her arms (completely rude). We then asked for the WiFi password so we could then access the menu to which she replied "I don't know it, I wish I did cuz I need it too for my phone." And walked away. Fast forward. We were able to get one of our phones to work and read the menu and we start ordering. We start by placing our drink order which came fairly quick, and then shortly after placed our food order. 25 or so minutes later she comes out and says they don't have any oysters and then we somehow find out it is because whoever was in the kitchen did not want or feel like shucking them. She waits 25 minutes to come out and bring everyone's food except the oysters and say that they don't have any. I mean seriously !?!?!??? Then she pretends and says that we ordered 2 burgers when in fact we ordered oysters to start. Not sure how it went from oysters to burgers, but okay. We decide to order something else for the people that wanted the oysters because we were already sitting there. Her service did not get any better and we couldn't wait to leave. It was terrible. We do not appreciate snippy, sarcastic people when we spend so much $$$ in one business and leave great tips. Not sure if we will return there. These last 2 experiences truly broke our hearts. Trader Ed's was the spot where we loved going but their waiters are rude. The only positive thing about this last visit was the security guard. He always has a positive vibe and smile on him and is always willing to help. It's been nice, it's been real but we truly left baffled and heart broken. I have never had a worse experience on a night out. Overpriced bad drinks in plastic cups. Do not waste your money here. The $20 cover is ridiculous and the owner is a complete jerk! The manager, who is also a bartender, is very rude and does not treat customers well. The guys at the bar outside are very nice and do their best to help when the manager screws up drink orders. Honestly surprised this place is so popular, the behavior of the owner and the staff. I have never seen anything so unprofessional. Save your money and go somewhere else. To start, They illegally raise the prices of their drinks throughout the night. If you're college age, or in your 20's looking for a fun place to go I definitely wouldn't waste your time here. They basically rob you of your money by taking advantage of your drunkess. The bartender charged me $40 cash for two vodka sodas in a tiny plastic cup (majority Ice). The same exact drink I only paid $10 for in the beginning of the night. It's one thing to be over priced, but flat out taking advantage of your paying customers is down right pathetic. Not to mention so blatantly illegal, state law that you can't raise the prices of your drinks... in one night.... like really??? Wouldn't they be concerned about their business getting shut down by doing something so obvious???? Nothing special, just go somewhere else. I've never written a public bad review on a place this is going to be the first. Outdoor bar around the pool was cash only inside bar they took credit card. Went at the inside bar waited for 30 minutes for 1 beer. They had 2 bartenders serving over a 100 people. Got my drink gave the guy my credit card then he never closed me out. Had to ask if he could please close me out by this time it's been 45 minutes. He said read the sign, there was a tiny sign were the tvs were that said 50$ minimum. Not even going into the bar did it say that or the bartenders say that when you order a drink. I was trying to be nice and then said i could just pay cash. Both bartenders were the worst! Super rude and not willing to do anything. Then the other 3 waitresses who were serving to people outside started chiming in and being rude. Finally one of the waitresses helped me out there. When to go talk to the owner he was on stage then he said wait a minute. Place closes down 10 minutes later owner leaves i'm walking out he's on his golf cart. I say hey can i talk to you for a second. He said not really it's 1am. So i left just thing really? This guy the owner wouldn't even talk to a customer that had a big issue. Terrible moral here! Do NOT go here unless you want to get charged $40 for two small drinks and you want to be judged by your appearance. It's $20 to get in BUT if you're rich looking or pretty they let you in for free. Only some of my friends had to pay the full $20 while the rest of us got in for free or $10. They also switch up the prices of your drink depending on how good looking you are. If you're attractive, you'll get a drink for $10 but if not... well you'll be charged $15+. Don't even think about using a credit/debit card because they make up prices as they go so your card will be charged for ALOT. The people that run the place are complete A-Holes and do not care about anything except making money. My friend went up to the owner and tried to talk about how much he charged her and he yelled in her face, grabbed her arm and shoved her out the door. Do not waste your time at such a terrible place. Girls Beware!! My daughters showed up @ 11 PM on Wednesday 7/13/2016. The door was locked despite stating they were open till 1 AM. My daughters turned to leave when finding the front door locked but the owner, clearly drunk, yelled for them to follow him to another door and commenced to tell them they were closing early because they were expecting a visit from Donald Trump. His friends, also wasted and laughing, tried to coax them to a different location but luckily my daughters weren't wasted and made it back to the car before this sweating, obese, jabba-the-hut, drunk piece of s**t a-hole approached their car and tried to open the doors. They were terrified and had locked the doors just in time. Great casual waterfront dining overlooking the beutiful boats at Hyannis Marina. Very cool bar inside with a good bunch of fun freindly locals. Excellent food at super reasonable prices. Highly reccommend the steak tips and the lobster (I beleive its a special on Thursdays). We ended up here almost every day during out trip. Planning another trip up from Florida next month and we cannot wait to get back to this place. read more

Horrified by this establishment. All I did was wait in line and I was immediately turned off. After giving the hostess my name, my group and I proceeded to wait for a table to be available, one of their employee's (not sure if it was a manager or bouncer, he was an older looking guy maybe in his mid 50s white of course) came out and yelled "FOR ALL NON-AMERICANS THE WAIT IS 3 HOURS, FOR ALL TRUE AMERICANS THE WAIT IS 45 MINUTES!". It was very appalling to hear such a rude and insensitive remark being made while just waiting to be seated. As an African American woman, I was in total shock that someone would be so openly ignorant to a crowd of potential guests at your establishment. I didn't really know what to think going forward and or how to handle this. I tried calling the restaurant to speak with a manager or owner a few days later but conveniently I never received a call back even though I did leave my name and number with them. I am sure this is not the first remark like this that was made and I am sure it will not be the last. Overall, this place is TERRIBLE, I would never recommend or suggest this place to anyone who believes in equality or freedom for all. Our bachelorette party came here this past weekend since all of the Yelp reviews were mostly great, but unfortunately we were left with a very sour experience after leaving Trader Ed's. We were met at the door with a $5 cover fee, even though the entire bar was mostly empty on a Friday evening at 10pm (although they did waive the fee for the bride). The DJ played some great music & the dance floor was scarce with people so we were able to dance the night away. The great times would have continued if it had not been for a specific female waitress & the owner. The female waitress came up to our group with the line, "Who's the bride?! Let me get you guys something!!! " We all assumed that this would be on the house, considering we were all dancing & not even NEAR the bar nor did any of us have drinks in our hands. She brought us back a round of shots, as per the brides request & continued to do so two more times. At the third round, she decided to slip in, "let me know who to give the check to". At $8 per shot for 9 of us, and three rounds...the end result wasn't cheap. This seemed to be quite the theme at Trader Ed's, because the owner himself knew how to scheme the crowd. After drunkenly prancing around the bar with his microphone, announcing that there would be a dance competition & whoever won would get a $50 gift card. Well, turns out our bride "won" the dance competition, and when she went to go claim her prize the owner simply scoffed at her. Specifically, he pointed to a yacht and said, "You see that yacht over there? I want that yacht, but I can't have it. We can't always have what we want, get it?" He then told her he would take us all over to the bar and buy us $50 worth of shots, but after the experience we had with the waitress and her false advertisements we didn't want to run the risk. LONG STORY SHORT. Go somewhere else. There are plenty of places in town that are way more entertaining (Beech Tree) and much less slimy. read more
