Some people that shop there are snotty , but I wouldn't expect anything less. There is a lot of old white money in Claremont . I'm from here so I can say that . My must buys every time I go, are individual packets of raw almonds, low fat string cheese, grated gruyere cheese, frozen mushroom quiche, vanilla or chocolate caramel swirl ice cream, cowgirl & cowboy bark (splurge), champagne grapes, frozen chili chicken burgers, and any variety of cheese. Really glad this is now the neighborhood store. Really like the minimalist selection it has. Enough to tease the worldly palate but not overwhelming like a large-chain supermarket. We especially like the take-home section in the freezer. We just grab two salads and eat them for a light meal or even mix the two together. We also like their snacks as well. I also recently read the mysterious story of how Trader Joe came to be and to this day, no one really knows who owns Trader Joes. The owner (who bought out TJ) died last year and no one's ever seen his face since the 70s. spooky. The human interest piece made me like Trader Joes even more. The original owner Joe still lives near the original Trader Joes in Pasadena with his wife and dog. How sweet. read more

Well, You can hardley ever go wrong at any TRADER JOE'S. This one is no different. All the employees are always very friendly and helpful. They sadly did not have one item that they used to have it has been discontinued when I asked if they possibly had it at the Chino Hills store the girl that was very busy doing inventory immediately asked me if she wanted me to have her call them and ask them if they had the item. I actually haven't visited this TJ's despite living fairly close to it. I actually like this location though. It's fairly spacious so you don't feel like you're bumping into someone at every turn. Still all the same foods that TJ's offer, so I expect the same qualities. Checkout was efficient and fast. I gotta give props to the trail mix and all the dried fruits section, all the different desserts and the chips selection. Too yummy. (Although chips are rivaled by Berkeley Bowl...) Have to say though...parking here is unfortunately pretty bad. The lot is kinda cramped and it's like a little maze to get to the place. At least for my first time there. I think that square is really just kinda confusing for driving in general to be honest if you're visiting for the first time or haven't been there for a while. read more

A friend of mine has been treated terribly by employees at this store more than once. Watch out at this store. They are racist and profile their customers. In the last instance the guy at the checkout line looked at her after she waited in line and just closed his register without explanation or apology. He then walked passed her as if she did not exist. She attempted to contact customer service and no one reached out to her after two weeks! This is my very favorite Trader Joe's location! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The aisles are large so makes shopping easy even when it's busy. They have a fantastic fresh produce selection. Their flowers and plants are always top notch as well. This is my go to spot even though there is a closer Trader Joe's location near my home. Keep up to good work Traders Claremont! I love Trader Joe's. The products are great at any store you go to. My complaint is as follows; the Cashiers are racist, and judgmental at the Claremont store. If you look European you will get excellent Customer Service. If not, then you will get a negative attitude as if your money isn't worth anything. This has happened to me many times. I dress presentable by the way, I am light skin but not light enough. Unfortunately for the cashiers, my money still works though and they still have to ring up the merchandise of [in their eyes] a commoner. Way too crowded!!! Very sad they closed the Mountain Ave location. That store was perfect! I will definitely not be shopping at this one. Parking lot is very hard to get in and out of. That's it. I'm so frustrated with this Trader Joe's. I pretty much stopped getting produce from them because of my earlier issues. Now I'm questioning why I even go there anymore. I've wasted too much money on spoiled produce I had to throw out, and time with having to return things. Most recently, I got home only to find that a package was opened. Now I'm debating whether to throw it out and waste $10, or return it and waste 20 minutes. Also, on that visit, I was getting some yogurt and saw that one of the containers was expired by 5 days. I brought it to an employee and she didn't seem to be too concerned. I love Trader Joe's and this location is one of my favorites because of the friendly employees and layout. But, I don't think I can justify going back anymore. If you shop here, make sure that you check EVERYTHING before buying it. I'm generally really good about it, but sometimes I miss things. read more

Recently came here with my family because the trader joes by my house didn't have much organic produce to choose from, but I'm guessing it's something to do with all trader joes in general because it was the same at this location as well. Although we were bummed out because we couldn't find organic grapes, we had a great cashier (reason for this review) his name was Jon. Extremely friendly and funny. We had a question about the new sweet plantain chips and he opened the bag up and let us try it. We of course bought a bag because they were delicious. I've never received such great customer service from this location so I was very pleased. This is by far my favorite Trader Joe's location. I've never had an issue with parking and the service has always been helpful and friendly. It's a more affordable store to try and buy your organic and healthy itemed food. The Trader Joe's brand isn't necessary good for you, some are fine but there are some food item that have too much salt or sugar. I use the app Fooducate to help guide me on vegetarian and overall health friendly items. I typically buy my organic vegetables and fruits, eggs, cottage cheese and snack foods from here. read more

Out of the many Trader Joe's markets I have been to, I have the best shopping experience with this Trader Joe's in particular! The employees are super friendly and helpful, the produce and inventory is always fresh and stocked up, the store is nicely organized and clean, and not to mention...the sample portions are extra hearty ;). This is also the first Trader Joe's that has its own parking security, which is the first I have seen (and don't think it's as necessary) but it's better to be safe than sorry! I can really tell each employee is picked very carefully to meet the demands of a cheerful, helpful, and genuine staff member. read more

The customer service here is great! TJ's does have pretty fair prices except not enough organic produce. My recent trip I noticed they now sell "fresh cold pressed juice". My only problem with that is the date was posted for 3 weeks out.. As an avid juicer, especially with cold pressed, I was not happy with this. Cold pressed juice once bottled and sealed is only fresh for 3-4 days max. I didnt like that aspect but had to try the "red" juice. It tasted like mildew... thats my only complaint. for $5 a bottle... not worth it. Other than that, customer service has always been on point. read more

With only 3 outlets in Massachusetts that sell such libations, it is nice to see a TJs that emulates what I left behind moving to New England from California. This is the store that made me a huge fan of Trader Joe's. Like all TJ's, their prices are always pretty reasonable and the store well maintained. The thing that sets this one apart is the staff and the building itself. I think it's because the ceiling is higher (or something) but the store just feels more expansive, even when it's crowded. I'm used to being in other Trader Joe's that just felt cramped when there were a decent amount of people inside. But this one just feels nicer. The staff is also ridiculous in how hilarious and nice they are. It's nice to be helped and around people who not only know what they're doing and don't appear inconvenienced by the customers, but also actually look like they're enjoying themselves for the most part. Just a really good atmosphere. That having been said, the parking lot is a bit of a nightmare. They share a parking lot with Buca di Beppo and at peak times they easily overflow into the TJ's side of the lot. Luckily, there's a larger parking lot past TJ's kinda in the back that is never crowded, if you don't mind the walk that's about the equivalent of a half a block. Not bad at all. read more
