I was overcharged during my last visit. I got a three pieces of ribs that were from the deli section pre-cooked and I asked how much they would cost and the gentleman who helped me said 8.99 a pound. When he rung it up, he quickly took it off the scale, but I noticed it said .39 pounds and later after getting rung up and leaving, I noticed that I was charged five dollars!! Five dollars was written on the package. No indication of the weight was written on the package. He was also very selective of picking up the pieces he gave me...and I noticed that the pieces I got had large bone in them and very little meat. Definitely got less than a quarter pound of meat altogether once I removed it from the bone. So I have decided not to return because I don't trust that they're ringing up the meat correctly.

This place is so odd; nestled on the border of Monterey and Pacific Grove - not exactly a high crime area, they have several security guards in the parking lot and within the entry and exit doors of the store. All of the employees look like they have one form of PTSD or another, and they're primed to think the worst in their customers by default. I'd highly recommend Lucky's, Safeway, or Trader Joe's - all of which are a 3-4 minute drive up the hill - over this stuck up backwards place.

The girl knew, because I told her, that I wanted the cupcakes to remain attractive. So as she boxed them up I watched and she made a point of damaging a few. I should have told her shove them! What the hell is not understandable about wanting your carefully decorated baked goods to not get smear in the box?! Why was that so hard to understand? When you are ready to order, you bring the sheet to the back left deli counter where they have their display and desserts. While we waited for our sandwiches, we took some time to look around the market. It is fantastic! The decor is lovely. The items they have in stock is also impressive. They have your basic items like chips and soda, but also a large international snack section. There are shelves of foreign chip flavors and drinks which is very neat. They also have a super wide variety of domestic products that you can't typically find everywhere. I was thoroughly impressed with all they have to offer. The sandwich itself was the cherry on the cake. It was the biggest sandwich I have ever seen. I was shocked at how thick and heavy it was. It was incredibly affordable too! All Trader Joes are awesome! I've been a fan for about 15 years now, but they know me and my family by name at this location and that makes PG TJs special. "In November 2001 Trader Joe's pledged to drop all genetically modified food from its product line. A very solid TJ's. The store is a bit smaller than a typical TJ's, but then again, they're serving a rather small town, so the size is just about right. There were very few issues with parking or crowds on the couple of occasions I've been here, so the pace is a little less harried here than at your typical urban TJ's. I love this trader joe's. Finding parking is usually pretty straight forward and the customers are careful in the parking lot. This location is smaller than the monterey location, but I strongly prefer it. The store is a bit smaller in square feet, but I was able to locate all of my favorite items with ease. Some items are never available even when they are in the weekly add. None of the meats that show as being in my order were there about $50 worth were just missing. Shop at Safeway, at your own risk.

Like other GO's, this one has good deals on items that are close to expiring or is close to passing their Best By dates. Of course there's a lot of items that are plenty fresh and have long dates to go, they're still cheaper than regular grocery stores or at least comparable in price, just that GO doesn't carry all the national or local brands. We came to find some snacks and fruits to munch on before we went "hiking" on nature trails in the Carmel and Point Lobos State Natural Reserve areas. We found lots of goodies, some at regular prices, others on discount or clearance prices due to expiring soon, and all reasonably priced. Overall, this GO isn't too different from others, there's plenty of produce and pantry items, tons of snacks and candies to choose from, and frozen items in the freezer aisles like ice cream and microwave meals aplenty which is what we often look for to enjoy in the evening at our hotel. There are even kitchenware should anyone need to pick some up before a camping trip if they forgot to buy or bring from home. I'm thankful for this GO when we're on the go.
