I love TJs but am furious that they let people get away with not fully cover their faces with masks. I saw 4 shoppers with masks dropped below their noses. It's like they get their cake and eat it too by seeming to comply with the mask rule by just having it somewhere on their face but still not being covered enough to matter. The manager's desk just gave a lame excuse about not being police...well they can be!! Just make an announcement on the speaker and ask everyone not fully covering their face to leave!! They can speak to customers if they want to but they just don't give a damn!! read more

Great store! We frequent this location and find it to be extremely convenient within the Inland Empire area. Shelves are always stocked and store is very clean and tidy. Employees at this Trader Joe's, and all of them for that matter, are friendly and knowledgable. You will find that certain products can be found cheaper elsewhere, but overall, the ease of getting everything in one place outweighs the small differences in cost. Cons - often there will be transients in the parking lot asking for money. The plaza has taken on more security to control those issues people frequently complain about. Also, parking can sometimes be a little crowded, but does not deter the stop in for a quick pick up of needed fantastic signature items. read more

Horrible customer service. Black people are treated suspiciously and rudely by floor associates. I love Trader Joe's and it has always been my go to grocery store in every state I've lived in...Washington DC, Maryland, North Carolina. I've come to expect great, friendly customer service from my experience at other locations. This one is a joke. Trader Joes is still my place for chocolate-covered treats, sprouted multigrain bread, Whaler's dark rum, and free samples. Oh, and the bachelor chow, like Really Expensive Authentic Handcrafted Chicken Burritos, and also there's a Cod meal that's really really good. But the employees are really starting to annoy me. They are always in the way while they are stocking and they just do not give a shit. I, along with a lady with a cart, was trying to get into the produce section the other day and two stockers were taking their god damn time, taking up the whole aisle, and not giving a single shit. Either they have no peripheral vision or no health benefits, I am not sure which, and come to think of it, maybe those two hyposeses are related?? At any rate, I was super annoyed and all I wanted was some broccoli. In conclusion, I really have to get back in the habit of planning the week's groceries and taking one Sunday trip to Rio Ranch. Their produce section is just as packed, but it is packed with cranky hispanic ladies and I can deal with that. I just put on my Stupid White Woman grin and run in there whacking everyone with my basket. SORREE! So if you see a white woman losing her temper in the Trader Joes produce section, I have to be honest. There's a lot of us. It may or may not be me. It appears that our local Trader Joes is in need of some good competition as their customer service skills has been increasingly slacking in recent years, most especially as of late. I shop at the Redlands TJ's every week or two for my favorite items (namely hummus, various cheeses, cilantro salad dressing, nuts, dried fruits, wine, tea tree body wash, etc) however I've noticed that I am often in the way of the employees stocking items and should I dare ask if an item is in stock or if they stopped carrying an item I'm greeted with, "whatever's there". The cashiers no longer ask if I've found what I was looking for, I would imagine because they don't want to hear the answer. I'd like to say this was a one-time occurrence but unfortunately it's become all too common. Hopefully someone at Trader Joes will read this and make staff aware. read more

We love Trader Joe's at our house, but my husband just got back from there on a Sunday afternoon about 1:00 and said it was crazy busy with shoppers elbow to elbow! I like Trader Joe's as the franchise; interesting products that you don't come by too often (if you're the sort who doesn't venture too far from Redlands for shopping), and they have nice flower assortments. This Trader Joe's, however, just gives me a head ache. Good luck finding parking because even if it's 10:00 in the morning or 2:00 in the afternoon on a Wednesday I guarantee the lot will be packed and you spend at least 5 minutes looking for a spot, unless you're one of the lucky ones who just happened to get there when someone is slowly pulling out (in fear of hitting the people who seem to think they can walk wherever in the parking lot and not pay attention to anything happening around them). And I know Trader Joe's is a small building but it gets so cramped in there sometimes that you find yourself reaching over people's heads just to grab a bag of lettuce. I never use a cart because I think it will take me twice as long to get my shopping done, spending the majority of my time trying to maneuver around people who like standing in the middle of the isle, but God forbid you're in their way of the free coffee samples. I do like the employees, though. Always very nice and polite (even to the older ladies who insist that their expired coupons are still good). I'm sure the low rating for this place is because of the parking lot and the overcrowding in the store. The sad thing is, is that I probably will continue to shop here. read more

I love this location of Trader Joes! Everyone who works here is so polite and I love how helpful they are! Anytime I walk in I am greeted right away and if I have any questions about a product or if I'm looking for something they are so helpful! They have a great selection of food and I love that I don't have to worry about a lot of things being genetically engineered like I would at Stater Bros. I love their Cajun salmon it's one of my favourite things to get here when I'm meal prepping. I also love their selection of cheese. I recommend the double stuffed Brie with the Trader joes fig and olive crackers. They bake their desserts as well and one of my favourites is the inside out carrot cake you have to give it a try. The lines all move quickly as well so even though they look long they get you out fast. If you havn't been to this location their great! read more

A small and, at times, very crowded location with about the happiest staff out of any grocery store I've patronized. Great selection of "fast food" - premade salads, etc. that are great to keep around. Great bread selection and adequate produce and dairy. A nice selction of meats with many organic offerings. A lot of the other packaged food is little more than junk food in a recycled paper look package that I'm sure many people mistake as being better than "ordinary" grocery store offerings. Junk food is junk food and Trader Joe's has a lot of it! They have a good selection of beer and basic spirits but the wine is generally low end plonk. 2 buck chuck sucks! read more

Instead of buying new bathroom signs that read "All gender restrooms" they should put the money into making them nice again; seriously it's like the old Texaco joke that you don't want to use it because it is so filthy. What Trader Joe's lacks in variety, they make up for in quality. I never used to go to Trader Joe's. I don't understand the layout of the store and it's so small that they don't have a large selection. Some stuff, they don't have at all. But you know that you're going to get healthy food at a reasonable price. But Tippe keeps me coming here and I've come to like a lot of their products. But I still think that you have to supplement the staples that you get here with another grocery store because Trader Joe's doesn't have everything that you need. I really like the service that you get at Trader Joe's. If you ask for something, the employee usually drops what they are doing and helps you until you are satisfied. Everyone is knowledgeable about the products in the store. If you ask for something and they don't have it, they will offer you an alternative that is usually a healthier option anyway. For example, when I asked for wheat bran to make bran muffins, they don't have wheat bran. But they have oat bran and that's a healthier alternative anyway. Tippe made the bran muffins with the oat bran and they came out awesome. Then, when you check out, you get personalized check out and bagging. read more

I don't know what it is about this location, but I seem to recall other Trader Joe's locations being bigger, more selection, and more "hard to find" items. They have different versions of the same foods in the Von's, a several unique items in the prepared foods, and a much better selection of organic fruits and veggies. There's nothing wrong with the place. Prices are even reasonable... it's just not that impressive for a Trader Joe's. The big plus is that when I can't find something at Von's, it's a 30 second walk to see if they've got it at Trader Joe's... and then a I go home disapointed and search the internet for the item. read more

My Favorite store..... I LOVE Trader Joes. Great selection of items. I bought Brussel sprouts still attached to the stem.... Like I picked them out of my garden! Beautiful produce....... I have always loved shopping here, but I never really buy the "healthy" foods. But my past couple of times I have just experienced rude customer service. I was not greeted, after some of the workers saw me come in and look me up and down. I was not asked if I needed help after walking around looking for the healthier selections because my personal trainer has me on an eating plan. I didn't know where the bread was, I usually purchase mine at Costco! Well I asked an older lady and she just looked at me and then said the bread I was looking for was in the bread area...and I just responded "oh I must have missed it" then I asked for some product that wasn't on the shelf and I was told I had to come early in the morning for it. No, you are to stop being lazy, walk to the back and look for it or at least act like you are. I've worked in a grocery store long enough to know good customer service, and they don't have it. I would rather drive out of my way to shop at another location. I've shopped in Pasadena, Riverside, Hollywood, Delano and Tacoma Trader Joes and those are nicer cities than Redlands. I won't go to this location again. I believe many of them are prejudice people. Many friends who are non-white have felt the same way about that store. And I have told many friends about my experience and they too have agreed to shop elsewhere. We only shop at Riverside store now. read more

I'm nothing short of horrified at the gripey review I just read in the list.. You can't blame a store for rude customers (or customers that seem to be angry at everyone and everything they encounter, case in point). That's ignorant. I have *never* encountered a rude employee in any Trader Joe's location, including Redlands. I also don't get the complaint about how the departments are set up. It's not that big of a store, so what is the problem? I love this store. My only complaint is that they need to put the blasted chocolate cheddar back on the shelf. What happened to that??? It seems like some shoppers are looking for food mecca - perfect everything. News flash, it doesn't exist. TJ's will have items you like, and items you don't like. That's life. If you like it, you buy it. If you don't, stop crying. Some are priced well and others you know you can run to SM Seafood Market in San Bernardino to get cheaper (like Jasmine and other rices someone else mentioned).. or Big Lots... or Food 4 Less. You have to be intelligent enough to keep track of prices and go to the stores that serve you best. When I see people complain about prices in a store like TJ's (and I've seen that), I just shake my head. You knew it was specialty when you walked through the door. I always visit the Trader Joe's in each city I go to. Partially because I work for the company, and simply put, I LOVE TRADER JOES! The parking lot is shared with other businesses, so there is plenty of room to park. The store is clean and well stocked. And as usual, the employees were energetic and helpful! read more

Seems like your typical Trader Joes. Great products that only stay on the shelf if they're awesome. Because of limited space, I tend to see only the great stuff getting replenish. That's why the Joe Joes, like Oreos without transfat, are a must buy. Also a great place to grab a healthy wrap or sandwich for only $4. Trader joes has got to be my favorite grocery store and I'm so jealous that Redlands has their own. Although trader joes employees in general have a reputation for being personable and helpful, I feel as though the Redlands store in particular tries to give it their all. I come out here once a week to do my grocery shopping needs and most of the time they are fully stocked and the items I need are available. The only suggestion I would offer: when a customer comes to return an item that has clearly gone bad before the expiration date, please apologize at least. But this is the case at every trader joes not just Redlands. All in all I highly recommend shopping at this location :) read more

Sort of disappointed by this location. It was really REALLY busy for a Monday night. There was at least 30 employees in the store stocking items (I counted 7 in the produce section alone) and there wasn't one person on the floor I could say was friendly. Thankfully the lady at the checkout was friendly and we had a nice conversation :) I don't feel it's laid out as well as the other locations it's a big confusing to navigate through the store. At the end of the day though, it's still a TJ's and the quality of food is great for the price. That is consistent through all locations and it's a big plus. read more

I actually do all of my shopping here. And its funny cause when i tell people that they look at me like im crazy---like "you must be loaded, its soooo expensive" Its actually not! Its just the two of us, but you cant beat the prices of all of their organic stuff. The only stuff i dont get there is stuff i cant--or isnt a good deal, like paper towels and laundry detergent, etc. Good stuff here--- 3 lb package of chicken breasts--6.99 random weight packs of 2 of ahi tuna (frozen)--as low as 4 bucks! Veggie birds nests milk and butter and eggs are wayy cheap---nearly 1/2 price heirloom tomatoes--2.99 a lb versus 9.99 a pound at gerrards up the street! white cheddar popcorn parmesan pizza dough-a buck. i just love this place. Afternoons and weekends though--dont go. try early weekends. I cant believe this place used to be roughly half the size. I get hives thinking about all of the people that are in there on a saturday afternoon. read more

I like Trader Joe's. This place is the only one that I know of, and so far I have not had a bad experience, but I haven't had a great one either. It's just okay. I come here to get stuff that is too overpriced at the grocery stores (eggs, milk, cheese). I really love their cheese selection. Last week they had a goat cheese and Kalamata olives concoction, and I went here yesterday to see if I could find it again, but sadly they did not have it. That's the one thing that always bothered me about Trader Joes, I would find some obscure item, and when I go back for more, they don't have it. This place is small, and reading the other reviews I can't believe it used to be smaller. I made the mistake of shopping here on a Friday afternoon once, and I seriously wanted to put down my basket and run. I couldn't turn without bumping into someone. Even when it's not too busy, it still feels crowded. The employees for the most part have always been friendly and helpful, with the exception of that one woman who was stocking the produce area and would not move, even after she saw me trying to reach for what I needed. I read in another review that someone experienced the same thing, maybe it was the same stocker? Anyway, I like this place, and since it is near me, I go here often. read more

This Trader Joe's gets my lowest rating. When I purchase fresh foods, like salad greens, they spoil way ahead of the sell by date. Often the same with dairy/cheeses. This is a consistent problem, not occasional. This particular store seems to have a management issue. When busy, it never fails that multiple employees are stocking shelves while carrying on personal conversations totally unaware they're blocking shoppers. Besides, they can be quite rude. No shoppers = No job. I won't go to this location anymore. read more

This Trader Joe's offers pretty much everything other Trader Joe's carries. However, because this one's parking lot butts up to the Vons parking lot, that's the first place you'll encounter a crowd. Cars jockeying for spots. I even saw a lady, obviously not handicapped and not displaying placards, park in the handicapped spot. Inside is usually crowded, too. They have a good assortment of items and the staff ALWAYS says hi and are friendly. When I exited the store that one time, the police were out there popping that lady for illegally parking in the handicapped spot. Ouch! that's an expensive shopping trip! read more

I love Trader Joes but this was my first time at the one in Redlands, and it was such a horrible experience. I went to the checkout stand where the cashier spent her time talking in Spanish to the young lady bagging the groceries. I reached into the my cart to put the items i wanted last towards the back of the cart to prevent them from getting smashed when the cashier looks at me and says "I can do my job." Than looks at the other girl, rolls her eyes and says in Spanish can you believe this girl. How humiliating!!!!! Than the whole time she was ringing up my purchase she spoke in Spanish to the other young lady that was bagging. I think I will stick to the Rancho store. read more

Hmmm.... don't know about the parking lot at other Trader Joe's... but this one is notorious having to navigate through especially on weekends or dinner time. Go early in the morning or in the afternoon is your best chance of getting in and getting out quickly. But other than that honestly what's bad to say about Trader Joe's? All their stuff is top notch, organized & surprisingly decent on price. I love this place!!!! Salmon jerky, cookie dough spread, cookie dough chocolate bars, $3.99 sandwiches and wraps. WTF! Where has this place been ALL MY LIFE!? Not in Florida, that's where. But thank goodness, it is coming soon! In the meantime, this place is a small location and had a good assortment. There were some things i noticed were missing - hello spice rack, where are you? Or there, that tiny little spot of spices? Not much curry choices, which is what I was hoping for. But the wraps, the sandwiches, yes - we came here 2 days in a row for affordable lunch on the go. Falafel wrap was delicious, the shrimp spring roll near perfection, and the falafel platter not the best. But can't beat those prices. Went to get some fig butter and crackers(always the best crackers) for my cheese. They are always nice and helpful to me here;) They continue to surprise me at how decently priced alot of their items are. However, the meats can be pricey especially hormone free or wild caught fish. But everything else...very economical. I buy their reusable bags and forget them every time! read more

So the location can be crowded...crowded outside (be prepared to do several shark circles around the parking lot for a spot) and crowded inside during evening hours. The best time to shop are the morning hours. That's when all the items you would never find in the evening will be found fully stocked, like 'cookie butter'! Mmmmmm! My husband and I enjoy shopping here, and actually do most of our shopping here. We love the selections and have never been disappointed with what we purchase. read more

We love this Trader Joes! The service is excellent and they go above and beyond all the time. Our favorite associate there is Erma! She's amazing every time we go shopping and even asked my husband where I was today... He had asked for help finding chicken soup but they were out. She asked if I was ok and if I was sick. That's so sweet to know me out of all their customers and ask how I'm doing. It made me smile when I'm so ill and really went a long way. It's amazing Traders is such a small store and always several checkers working! Especially how bad Von's is next door!!! They only have 1-2 people working at check out and not even self check out like Fresh & Easy. Keep it up Trader Joes, you're doing great work! Whoever's bright idea it was to put this Trader Joes in a Von's parking lot along with other large businesses and a ridiculously small parking lot, was an idiot. There are a plethora of available space in Redlands or Highland for a great market to go in! The only thing that drives us crazy is sometimes we like to grill burgers and zit his store always runs out of the mini buns with sesame seeds!!! It's so annoying and I've addressed this a couple times with the managers but they still don't stock properly. They only explain that someone buys all their buns up. Perhaps they can offer to make a special offer for this person or business and leave a pack or two for regular customers! I wish there was a closer TJ in Highland off Greenspot. There's a beautiful big plot down the hill from us there across from Lowe's so I'm hoping they build a new closer location. read more

I love Trader Joe's, don't get me wrong, but this location unfortunately has consistently let me down. For whatever reason, they are just not well stocked and missing a bunch of my TJ staples, e.g. large organic half and half, soy milk in the fridge section, even grape seed oil on a few occasions, just to name a few. When I asked the staff, it seems like this location doesn't have these items in their inventory. I'm not sure if these items are just not popular amongst the customers shopping there. I moved here from Cleveland, OH, where my 2 nearby TJs were almost never out of stock of anything. Other than that, the staff is very nice and friendly. I am not a confrontational person w/ intentions of making a scene in public... I do however feel the need to express my feelings about what occurred at this store recently. I was at one of the check out lines making a transaction and holding a side conversation (in Spanish) with my mother - about things unrelated to our shopping. The chip reader didn't take the card the first time... so the cashier found it appropriate say "your card didn't go through... was that your EBT card?" My mother and I each make double or more what this cashier lady makes... why would she assume we were recipients of government aid? Simple - stereotypes. For one.. as an employee of the public - she should never make statements that would make a customer feel insecure about their SES - especially when other customers are lined up and listening but most importantly during a pandemic where there are people who truly are struggling financially. All she needed to say was "I'm sorry your card didn't go through the first time - this happens sometimes do you mind trying it again?" She knew what she was asking. She knew her stereotype was fitting because we were speaking a language she probably is at a disadvantage of even comprehending. Truthfully she is a prime example of the ignorance that exists in this world - Trader Joe's should be ashamed of having such a disrespectful presumptive employee like her. I never make reviews but I hope the managers read this and realize the tension and discomfort this lady put us through. I only give 1 star because I can't give negative 5. read more

Oh my word they have the best avocados. I don't go anywhere esle for avocados. I love everything here basically no complains at all. Litertly only place that the avocados last the longest and are the best. The cashiers are very courteous and always helpful. read more

I. Am. Traumatized. Came here last night to pick up some items for secret Santa and I left feeling like a complete and total idiot thanks to the staff. I admit, I'm totally not cool enough to shop at Trader Joe's, okay? I like my regular grocery stores. This was LITERALLY my second time ever going into a Trader Joe's and I was looking for specific things... there are no signs on the aisles like regular grocery stores. So I had to ask like three separate workers for help locating these particular items. Every time I went up to a worker, I told them I never shop here and sorry if these are dumb questions, etc before I would ask for help. I asked one guy where the "two buck chuck" was. And I used to be a wine sales rep so I'm looking through the aisles on the bottom of the shelf for this stuff. Couldn't find it. Asked a worker and he pointed right to it like I was a freaking idiot. Then I asked a sweet gal where some other items were and she was super nice and told me she knows it can be tough to find things because there aren't any signs. Then I got up to the register and asked where the peppermint jo Joe's were (literally have no clue what or where they would be) and the chick is like "the end cap right there" walked to it, then she's yelling in a monotone voice "no, right there" like what people do when they're talking to someone who is slow... so I had to go down to like three different end caps just to find them as if they were easily found (again, I never shop here) ... feeling all flustered and everyone in line is looking at me like I'm some kind of freak. OH MY GOD I couldn't get outta there fast enough. I used to work in retail and in customer service and I was APPALLED at how rude the workers were. Seriously traumatized and will never be back because I'm suffering from PTSD from this place. SO RUDE read more
