What a fun spot to stop for a cup of joe. Very friendly person behind the counter who took time to welcome us and explain the coffee. A real treat! A google review stated it is the best coffee in Cincinnati so I had to get a bag to go for my plus one. I enjoyed my coffee drink and conversation with a friend.

Tried this on a whim and we loved it! Great casual spot for a coffee and breakfast sandwich. Prices were very reasonable and staff was friendly.

My husband and I love supporting local coffee shops and this is a gem. Typical cozy neighborhood shop with very friendly employees, good coffee, nice selection of food options and plenty of space to sit, indoors or outdoors. I just wish we could have had our coffee in ceramic mugs, but they only do paper cups. They roast their coffee on site and sell numerous flavors by the pound. Totally worth stopping in!

Lookout Joe has been on my must-try list for awhile. Pros +it's right on Mt. Lookout Square, which is super quaint +walkable to Ault Park & Observatory +parking is unlimited not too far after the metered parking on Linwood/ Delta +there's a sunny patio with umbrellas +they roast their own coffee / offer fresh grinding (with a wall of roast options) +the self-serve coffee options have six different daily brew choices +the large coffee mug is only $2.10 and comes with a refill Cons -the ambiance / interior itself is a bit uninspired; nothing special (tables are rickety, you could get lost sinking into the couch it's so squishy) -it's situated on a busy intersection: parking seem daunting... you just have to relax and resolve to park farther up the streets (or at the metered lot) -there are no plugs at the tables, so your work time is limited to your laptop battery (there's an extension plug available but it only reaches the couch and one table). I don't get over by Mt. Lookout terribly often, but when I do I know where to stop. Lookout Joe is a cozy spot that really adds to the walkability of the Mt. Lookout area. Some afternoon I'd love to read and have a coffee here and then finish with a walk through Ault Park.

Update: tried the tiramisu. To. Die. For. I'd like to shake the hand of the man or woman who made it. So good. Really enjoyed this place for a quick, 20 minute chill session. We arrived 30 minutes before closing on a week day and never felt rushed. The only thing that still haunts me is that I didn't get any of the desserts. The chocolate and tiramisu are calling my name, a week later. They offer several other options like quiches. The barista was super friendly. I asked if he could make a Starbucks style caramel macchiato (I know, don't make fun of me). He said he's never been to SB so he doesn't know what that is but if I tell him the ingredients, he's try his best... well, he came back with a pretty darn close caramel macchiato! Kudos to him. I really like the large selection of coffee on the wall. It is self service and you can even grind your beans. The art on the wall is all for sale and there's several tables for gathering. The couch is pretty gross, it could use a cleaning or a burning. I hope they can get a new couch soon. Favorite Mom part: they have a shelf of toys and games to keep the kiddos occupied.

This is your sign to skip out on your daily Starbucks or Dunkin and support a local business!! This is one of my favorite coffee shops to go to! The staff is always so friendly and regardless of how busy it is, the service is always so fast. Would highly recommend their quiche and breakfast sandwiches as well! M

Now more than ever it's super important to support local businesses! I walked over to Lookout Joe's the other day for my daily latte and it was so sad to walk into an empty store. The layout is perfect for getting cozy and spending a day doing work with a hot drink and one of their delicious looking pastries. The staff was extremely nice and my latte was delicious. The menu had a lot of options and their pastry case was completely full. If you're in the Mt. Lookout neighborhood I highly suggest giving this local joint a visit in the next few weeks. They're a great business worth supporting today and always Thank you Lookout Joe for keeping Mt. Lookout caffeinated!

Weekend and weekday hours are great and super convenient. Parking is very easy and not stressful (free lot until 6pm). The seating was not super comfortable for extended sits, but the chairs had backs and good table-space, so not not horrible. Not a lot of natural lighting either. It was a bit dim, but not problematic. It was fairly noisy, but with headphones in it was a fine level. The music was chill (frank ocean vibe) and not too loud. They did have outlets, but only at some seats, and some were blocked with benches, so make sure your laptop is fully charged when you come. Wifi is great! No complaints there. It was a good temperature (not too cold :)) and the bathrooms were very nice with mints and feminine products. They also have a water filling station. I got the "coffee of the day" which was like normal coffee idk, and an iced honey bear latte which was fireeee. Prices are not bad either, so overall I'd give this place 4/5 stars! I'll definitely come back.

We visited their Oakley location, which was the perfect spot to stop by and grab a fun, well-crafted drink. Their story makes the experience even more meaningful, it all began with a group of friends building lasting relationships with coffee farmers in Santa María de Jesús, Guatemala. That partnership became the foundation of their journey, leading them to launch Deeper Roots as a roasting company dedicated to sharing exceptional coffee with their community and beyond. With multiple locations across Cincinnati serving their coffee, they're definitely a spot worth supporting and checking out! It was small inside so not sure if this location is the best to do work or lounge around but definitely good to stop by and grab coffee.

I thought it was quite delicious but we did notice it settled quite a bit and wished we had something to stir it with. Overall, I think this is a place I would visit for the neat area/ good vibes but not necessarily for the quality of their coffee drinks.
