Trappers lost my business when they changed happy hour. Now I drive up the road to happy hour. At another place 5 more minutes away. read more

Have ordered takeout from here a few times. Definitely recommend. It's super close to our house which makes it convenient and they have a lot of delicious options. read more

Beware!!!! This place is FREEZING COLD inside!! They are doing renovations at the bar and are not turning the heat on. It is sooooo cold, unbearable for our 4 year old. We waited 40 minutes to get our child's meal, after our appetizers and meal was out. Completely unacceptable. We were caught off guard that they stopped doing happy hour on Fridays and Saturdays. It seems they are cutting all corners they can. We are from Bonney Lake, WA where the original Trappers started and couldn't be more disappointed in this expansion. We were very excited to have a little piece of home open close to us and I don't think we will be back. read more

Came in for AYCE lunch. Food was great. Food did come out slow, but they were busy due to a holiday party. Andrea was our server. She was very busy, but kept checking in with us. Prices were great for AYCE. read more

Great place to go with friends and family to have good food and laugh. I recommend the crab sushi tacos and the jalapeños poppers. Also never a bad time for sake bombs. read more

Food was great, service was friendly and attentive, the ambiance is pretty neat inside as well, it's clean!

This place is my favorite place to eat. The all you can eat is immaculate and fresh, every single time. LHA THE WAITRESS IS AMAZING!! Lha is very nice and makes the already amazing experience even better, she deserves a 120% raise and I will stop loving trappers so much until it's done!! read more

Trapper was an amazing experience mainly because of Andrea our server. She came over multiple times to check in on us, cracked a few jokes, and gave us suggestions to try on the menu. The Sushi suggestions she gave was amazing, honestly all the food there is good. All in all I will come every time I visit Waddell. Make sure you ask for Andrea. read more

The sushi and service was fantastic! The bar was down so the specialty drinks weren't available but the server made a great suggestion and let us taste test it first. Will come again! YUM! We finished it all! read more

Miss Angrea is an amazing hostess and the food was awesome! Buffet is 100% worth it. 10/10

I have been a Trapper's Sushi fan since living in WA years ago. I squealed when I saw a piece of WA would be down the road from us! They surely didn't disappoint! YES- they are NEW and they are LEARNING! We had a few little kinks when dining in for the first time a few weeks ago but that comes with the territory of opening a new location and training new staff. We ended up having the bartender finish up as our server as well, but everyone who came to our table ensured our order was correct and we got each part of our meal. One of my new favorites I've found at Trapper's are their cocktails... my goodness... don't hesitate!!!! Not only are they well priced (I sure enjoy their happy hour!!) but their Blueberry Drop Lemonade cocktail was to die for. I could've used a bucket of it!! Overall, great experience that I know will only get better & you certainly can't go wrong with their sushi. THIS is the place to go! read more

Trappers was fantastic got a boat with me and my cousins and we loved it 10/10!!! Service was amazing and

This place is always packed, but the food is so good consistently and the happy hour menu is super fair. Wish they were a little more organized on the reservation situation but they'll get there. read more

We had a great experience! We heard about this new sushi place and came on a Sunday. We had a party of 8, food was fresh, so good and fast! So happy we have a good sushi place here in Surprise! We will be back for sure. read more

Ray Ray was so attentive- the food was so delicious and it was overall a wonderful dining experience!!!!

I went here the other day for all you can eat with my sister and my toddler during happy hour. I really love coming here, but my last visit was really tough and not very enjoyable. The food was delicious, but we there a full 2 hours and my son was extremely upset being stuck in a high chair for that long. The place was probably half capacity so there were decently busy working on all the rolls, but it was just disappointing with how long it took to receive 3 rolls and a few sashimi. As a mother, we really try our best to keep our kids content but with how long it took we had to take turns with him outside and we couldn't just eat in a timely manner and leave. I really want to go back because the food is great and servers are so nice and friendly but this makes it really hard to want to return. read more

The sushi rice was just dry short grain rice without the flavor and texture of good sushi rice. We did have a nice mushroom appetizer which was very nice. The sashimi was firm and fresh but as the most important part the sushi rice was terrible. We also had spicy tuna maki with the substandard rice and for some reason the tuna seemed to be ground up. I spent 6 years in Japan and do not believe this sushiya would remain open very long. Also the miso soup had a very strong shiro miso flavor. The sushi at Fry's and that at Luke AFB commissary was better. read more

Very laxed all you can eat sushi! There wasn't room at the bar so we sat in "overflow" and honestly the service was great very fast and answered questions as they arose. I will say basic rolls like spicy tuna and California are nasty. Tasted like a fridge and was ICE COLD. The MT Rainer, Buddha Lucius, and gyozas were DELICIOUS!! Can't beat 40$ for 2 ppl (3 orders of gyoza 3pc each, 6 sushi rolls, 1edamame. read more

Had the lunch AYCE for 20, highly recommend. Great choices with really good ingredients, love the names on the rolls too. IYKYK. Server was excellent, Andrea at the bar. Chefs were great, quick orders. Very happy to find this place not far from where we frequent. Interior is nice, casual but also well designed. Good for an average day or even a more special occasion. Also can't beat the price at the bar. read more

This is a great sushi spot, especially when it's so close to home! Very clean, friendly service, awesome happy hour:) The sushi is some of the best on this side of the valley (not a crazy high bar, but still). Only complaint is the all you can eat sushi area is a little small, so you can't always squeeze in right away read more

We went to the one in Avondale, awful. Low quality fish, didn't know it was an All You Can Eat place. Yuck! Went on a recommendation from a neighbor... they are a chain out of Washington. Save your money and go to Ugly Tuna at Bell and Reems. read more

The restaurant was clean, the service was good, and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately the amount of fish in the 3 rolls I ordered was marginal. Kiku Sushi at Union Hills and the 101 is a much better value. read more

We sat at the All You Can Eat bar, for $25 a person it was an amazing deal. Our sushi chef Christian was very friendly and entertaining to watch, and the food was great! read more

We love trappers however each time we go there is always something wrong. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 toddlers and everything seemed to take forever. Our waitress was nice and very personable however we only saw her a few times. Very light staff. We did notice the manager or what seemed like the manager bringing food out and helping the staff. Our sushi tasted amazing however all of our rolls were rolled very sloppy and my daughter had a very difficult time eating it because it kept falling apart. I did take a photo the second we received it and my husband and I were speechless. We did ask for no avocado and what it looked like was they made it with avocado and then last second removed it. I had to squish it back together with my hands so it wouldn't fall apart on my daughter. With a bill well over $100 we might wait a little until we return. read more

Trapper's Sushi - My daughters California roll. - Sushi Bars Near Me - Surprise, Arizona

Great service and fresh sushi. Took our grandson for lunch and was the best he ever had.

Food was definitely above average quality but not great great. zero hate just not above average sushi though it is a solid deal for the unlimited dinner price of $30, so since I can't give it a 3.5 and don't want to give the restaurant 3 stars stick at 4 stars for this restaurant. All employees were nice, they could be way quicker about everything going on from seating to eating, it's slowish but it's a freshly opened place so gotta give the staff some time to improve so service can't be a 5 and definitely isn't a 3 so the staff friendliness being on point service gets a 4. All in all there, trapper is nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. I'll prob go back. read more

The people were kind but service VERY slow for how pricey it was. Just a "sorry we are still working out the kinks". Entertaining 2 toddlers while we wait over an hour for food is not an easy task whatsoever. Many people that arrived after us got food before us. They seem to prioritize large parties. We were a small party of 2 adults 2 toddlers. There was a lot of staff too. Not sure when I can say we will be back. More than willing to fix my review if we have a different experience. read more

Great new place with great prices and very friendly service! The sushi was great and the kid's meal was a very large portion of food. We loved the ambiance and definitely will be coming back! read more

Terrific food and really, really great service with Andrea. She is fantastic! Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and a great ambassador for Trappers. We will definitely be back. read more

Good, but not great. Bring a dose of patience, the food comes out slow. They have a lot of people working hard and the service was good. The place is a bit over crowded of tables close together. We sat left of the sushi bar next to the opening near the dish washing station and it was a little loud. The sushi was just okay, bland. The appetizer trapper bites with the sauce was delicious. I'll give it another try sometime, but not by choice if the opportunity arises. Just wasn't overly excited about the place. read more

Andrea was fantastic she was very personable and the food was excellent definitely best sushi in Surprise

The food was hit and miss. The gyoza was undercooked in the middle and the sauce they serve is not complimentary to the gyoza as far as flavor profile goes. The chicken nuggets were amazing! The sushi- again hit and miss. We ordered the spider roll, sky walker roll and the Brooklyn roll. The spider roll was extremely dry- needed more sauce or something to break up the dry ingredients. The sky walker roll and Brooklyn roll were packed with amazing flavors and rolled to perfection. 1000% recommend those rolls. The service, was the best part of our evening. The server was accommodating and communicative. The manager, Mariah, was exceptional. Definitely a place worth trying! read more
