Trapper's was recommended to me a while ago, but I hadn't had the chance to try it until yesterday. I'm not sure how busy it gets on Sundays, but it wasn't too bad when we got there around 5pm. We opted for the all you can eat dinner, but it's limited to the bar only - no biggie. We were quickly seated and given water. To start off, we ordered some gyoza and trapper bites. Both were great options. We also ordered some cocktails. I ordered the Pineapple Coconut Crusher. 10/10 if you want a sweet cocktail. After looking through the menu and asking for recommendations, we started ordering our rolls. You order your rolls directly from over the bar, and they're made right in front of you, which I thought great. The rolls and nigiri were delicious. The quality of the sushi is really good. I especially loved the Tukwila and Trump rolls. Both are great options if you're not sure what to order. The salmon nigiri is also really good. Overall, we had a really good experience. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially since it was our first time. I enjoyed chatting with the guys behind the counter and seeing them have fun while preparing our food.

Been here twice - it's meh which is disappointing. Their app atmosphere is nice, nothing formal. Their app is quite generous for the first time using it. A free roll ! So we tried it. We ordered a roll with soft shell crab inside. The crab came out burnt and the waitress replaced it and the second one was actually worse. I'd try it again but it's too expensive to gamble on if the food will be prepared properly.

Tasty Nigiri sushi! Lots of roll options. Dinner All You Can Eat is when you can get the Nigiri! $30 is pricier that other places, but the fish is fresh and they don't skimp on the fish. I like their freshly prepared vegetable tempura and their seaweed salad.

This is our 4th visit to Trappers and it continues to be delicious. We had the whole family time so we ordered Yacht #1 which includes the California Crunch, Bonney Lake, Puyallup, Trapper rolls and two orders of Goyza! At the top of the picture is the California Crunch (Spicy crab, teriyaki & avocado rolled in tempura crumbs.) Very light and a nice balance of flavors. The next one down in the picture is the Bonney Lake (Crystal shrimp with cream cheese, fried in tempura, covered with spicy crab, teriyaki & hot sauce.) The group was divided on this one. The spicy crab seeming like BBQ pork and then a simple hot sauce. I actually enjoyed the texture differences and the familiarity of the hot sauce. The next one down in the picture is the Puyallup (Salmon, avocado & cream cheese fried in tempura topped with a special sauce, teriyaki & green onion.) This was my least favorite of the food tonight with the special sauce being very mayonnaise heavy, in my opinion. It just overtook the other flavors. To the far left and far right was the Mt. Si, (ordered separately and not a part of what is included with the Yacht; Smoked salmon, apple and cream cheese, topped with avocado and sweet chili sauce.) We order the Mt. Si because it was and is our favorite. The balance between the sweetness and tart of the apple, followed by the sweet chili sauce is just excellent. Lastly is the Trapper. (Crystal shrimp covered with spicy cooked scallops, teriyaki, green onion & masago.) People were divided on this as well saying the scallops over powered the other flavors. I enjoyed the texture differences again but would ask for less scallops as the other flavors are lost, in my opinion. The shishito peppers were and are still a big hit. The kids also loved them with the sauce. A perfect amount of breading providing a great little crunch. The Gyoza, were fried perfectly with a perfect crunch. The edamame were simple but good and well salted. The kids teriyaki chicken meal with rice and apples was perfect for our toddler. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Whether it be for a date night or dinner with the family, you will be good to go! The service and staff were all kind and professional. 3*** = Good but no separation from similar restaurants 4**** = Set themselves a part and their food is different and I want to go back. 5*****= You have to go out of your way and make a special trip to try the deliciousness that is there!

Always a fun time sitting at the bar and getting all you can eat! The chefs tonight were very nice and fast! Mr Charlie - we liked it but want more fish in it. More of a fried taste and less fish STP -yummy and creamy Sounder without cream cheese -I liked it but my sister wasn't a fan Thrill -my sister loved this one but it was a bit too spicy for me We finished off with some nigiri Albacore -best fish of the night! Salmon -it was average. It was kinda tough Jaysin -it was good Tuna -good Water had a weird taste so we got the green tea which was really good!

Walked in at about 12 noon. The person at the hostess stand was super friendly and was helpful getting up to the sushi bar for the all you can eat sushi. We got sat and a waitress came right over so we could order drinks and explained the process for lunch and the all you can eat or the option to use the dinner menus for the all you can eat. The vibe in the place was super cool. I usually get lots of pictures but the staff was very interactive o helping us since my friend had not had anything other than California roll. I did get a picture of Tyler with some sushi and I will for sure be back.

We took advantage of their happy hour, which is one of the best values around. We ordered the Tidal Wave Roll, the Shrimp Tempura Roll, and, of course, our all-time favorite, the shishito peppers. The peppers are consistently flavorful with just the right amount of char, and they're a must-order every time we visit. The sushi was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The Tidal Wave Roll was a standout, while the Shrimp Tempura Roll delivered the perfect balance of crunch and freshness. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was attentive, and the happy hour made the experience even better. It's always nice to return to a restaurant and find the quality and consistency are still there. We'll definitely be back again!

Trappers is in its own separate league of greatness. Whoever made that review has not had Trappers. And since I'm being honest, I'll tell you why. The 3 rolls we ordered were either made early in morning or day before. Yesterday's sushi served at Blue Sushi is just that - the taste, texture refrigerated dried out rice coldness of yesterday's leftovers. Service was slow. We sat for 10 minutes, asked for menu and after another 5 minutes we had to get up and walk to front desk to get our menu. Hence several other requests were yet another 5-10 minute delays. I have to say the 2 stars are more for the restaurant's cleanliness, upbeat music, beautifully designed Asian feel and center piece being the liquor bar. As well, I was impressed with the presentation of our sushi rolls but again a false representation for they were refrigerated cold, old-dried out rice, leftover taste. Sadly, no showcase of the area where the chef's are suppose to be at work for which there was only one chef behind the counter, during our 90 minute meal, further proving my point the sushi is not made to order, not fresh. That one chef we observed was to perhaps sprinkle the nuts or topper of selected sushi varieties. I believe my review is important - this restaurant is NOT comparable to Trapper's. Trapper's is 5 star, freshly made with a 6 or more chefs actively slicing dicing engaging with customers and tending their freshly made sushi rolls behind the counter.

What a dismal experience and grand waste of money…read more Pertinent fact: I'm a pilot and I've eaten Japanese food everywhere, so this isn't my first rodeo. Now on to the facts... The place is nice though a bit dated. The huge koi pond is a nice touch. All the teppan show tables are on one side of the restaurant. The regular tables on the other side. The food was horrendous. There were 6 of us and we ordered 5 different entrees plus an app, so it was a good sampling of everything. I asked the server (who was dripping with an attitude of, "I hate this job and I want to do only the bare minimum..."), what was good. She said the chicken katsu was especially good; so I ordered it. What arrived nearly 25 minutes later was a slab of 1/8th inch thick chicken breast that was so overcooked that it was a hard oval disc. The breading had been over-fried to the point of hockey-puck texture. It was so dry and tasteless that it could have been alligator and I would never have known. Just a hard, dry, tasteless, burnt little slab of chicken with a side sauce that tasted like thick Worcestershire sauce and nothing more. There was barely ANY sweetness (which is critical with Katsu dishes), and zero spice or variation. Just a glop of room-temperature, thick, Worcestershire sauce in a gel-like consistency. It was sooooooo awful that I can't properly describe it. The other dishes were nearly as bad. The tempura was ok. But $28 is a lot of money for tempura. Mine came with a pile of tasteless, very basic "salad" (a pile of lettuce), and a little bowl of white rice. The best description I could muster for all these dishes was, "hospital slop." Then there was the service. Oh my gosh, what a joke. This server dumped the plates on our table and walked off, never to be seen again. She didn't ask how the food was. She didn't refill our waters. . She didn't ask a single thing and we only saw her when we ordered and when we needed the check. No in-between. She literally disappeared for an entire hour. The place is huge and has some 50 tables. We were one of only 3 tables with people in the whole place. She literally disappeared. She only came out after I yelled across the room when she poked her head out from the back for a nano-second. She brought out the check and took our credit cards. The kicker is they add an 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. Six? Really? NO WONDER she didn't care : She was making an 18% tip just for breathing. Great gig if you can get it. Overall wvery dish was awful except the filet and shrimp which was decent. And the service was among the worst I've ever had. Just a complete debacle. Stay away from this place. It's truly slop and they charge you a fortune to experience it. Notice how this business has never even claimed their Yelp page? They don't care. A-Hai Sushi in Goodyear is a far, FAR better Japanese option. This place should be embarrassed about the food and the service. It was terrible. Good luck in The future. You'll need it.
