Another great spot in downtown Carmel. It has a bit of an upscale vibe qnd the decor is very chic. We stopped in for a cocktail on a Saturday evening and had no trouble getting a spot at the bar. I had the live and let die. They take a whole pineapple and let it infuse for 7 days to a bottle of Woodford. I've never had a bourbon cocktail so sweet and yet balanced. I could have these all night....i barely taste the bourbon but I'm sure it will sneak up on you. The wife had a huge spritz which was enormous. I tried it and it's definitely elderflower forward and she loved it. It took her so long to get through it I had time for a neat pour of buzzards roost. The bartenders were Emma and Steven. So her is some honesty on "the experience". Sat at the bar tonight and ordered a Sauvignon Blanc. It appears there is only ONE type of stemware here. One glass and it would be best for a Cabernet or a Zin. Huge glass is not how white wine should be served. Simple fix. After I ordered my food I sat and noticed the bartender running out into the restaurant to assist elsewhere. Why? Finally my food comes and the person delivering it doesn't have silverware or the normal napkin wrapped set of silverware. When I asked the person delivering the food he looked confused and lost. The bartender steps forward and lays a fork on the bar, walks back and looks for a knife. She drops that on the bar and the goes to search for a napkin. What is happening at this point? Finally the person who delivered the food returns with a nicely wrapped silverware napkin ensemble for me. I sat and enjoyed the scallops dish. As I was eating I watched the couple to my left be served food with no napkin wrapped utensils just as I was. So this stuff is simple, small but HUGE. The bartender needs to be on point for silverware and focused on the customers at the bar...in addition to the drinks for customers. The manager shouldn't be schlepping plates to the kitchen. Good servers should either be bringing utensils or the staff gives it to you immediately once they know you're eating. Simple things and so easy to fix. It is however a huge impact to the experience. When we entered we were greeted by the host and seated immediately. The interior design is beautiful and spacious. We love the edgy ambiance it gives which is different to your traditional Italian. The wine was tasty and lovely. For appetizers we got the pork belly which was very good. I got the spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and added the lemon ricotta and basil to it. The couple we were on a double date with got the meatballs for an appetizers which was plated that way which intrigued me. The speghetti and meatballs was very good. Decided to check out this new restaurant on Main Street. This is a sister restaurant of Sangiovese (one of favorites). [[HIGHLIGHT]]First, very modern inside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bar area wasn't very loud but as soon as you get into the dining room it was very loud. Difficult to hear the waitress and my husband jokingly said why don't you just text me it would be easier[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We ordered two glasses of wine - very few choices for glasses. Would like to see more choices. For our entrees we ordered frutti de mare and pappardelle. Pasta on both was cooked perfectly. Sauces had just enough flavor and not overwhelming. We enjoyed both dishes very much. For dessert we had the grilled peach with vanilla gelato - this dessert made us laugh as it was a bite size and cost $12. Didn't get a picture of it has my husband ate it in one bite! We also had the homemade tiramisu which was very rich and a better serving size for the cost. I had dinner here with a group of friends on a Friday night and they did seem to fill up so a reservation is probably a good idea to be safe. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass in both 6 and 9 ounce pours. I opted for a 6oz Chianti which was excellent. We shared a pizza-like starter that had zucchini chips and really enjoyed it. I had the rigatoni for my entree which included a really flavorful sausage and smoked mozzarella. It was excellent. For dessert I had the tiramisu which could have been shareable, but I ate a whole piece myself. It was really good and not so huge or rich to be ridiculous for one person to eat. Service was excellent and our server knew the menu really well. Like many restaurants, they seemed a bit short staffed with servers covering a lot of tables. We enjoyed not being rushed as we were having a relaxed night out. Important tip- the entrance is the blue doors...we all walked around front looking for a glass door..,look for the blue doors on what looks like the side of the restaurant. Came here for a friend's birthday for some good authentic Italian food and wasn't sure where we landed by the end of the night. Our server was very kind, quick, and professional. I ordered a glass of moscato for myself while I quickly looked over the menu for pasta options. My friend ordered the Agnolotti and I ordered the Tagliatelle even though it wasn't authentic as there were not a lot of options. We were told by the server that the cook is Mexican and wanted to try a fusion birria pasta dish. The Tagliatelle was pretty good even though it wasn't authentic and the Agnolotti was okay. Well, I'm a little torn on this. On the one hand, Tre is right up my alley in terms of being a hip, modern new restaurant in a killer location. And, it's Italian food, which is yet another reason to like it, solely on that basis. The service was also splendid. Here's where I struggle: I'm not sure where (or if) this restaurant fits in my life. In today's competitive dining scene in Carmel/Westfield, a restaurant has to have something that you crave - a dish or menu item that you start fantasizing about, at 4:30pm on a random Tuesday afternoon, hours after the Snickers you had for lunch has worn off. As good as the food is here, there wasn't anything we had that meets that standard. But, that's just me. I'm sure they'll do well. read more

It was our first time to visit Tre on Main in Carmel, Indiana. The restaurant has a modern decor that is very nice, cleanly, and up-to-date. Our server, Kate, was knowledgeable, friendly, and was very helpful with her recommendations and they were spot on. The support staff made were very observant and our drinks never were empty. We had the meatballs for an appetizer and they were delicious, though for us there was just a smidge too much lemon in the ricotta whip. The marinara sauce was spot on! The "Live and Let Die" and the old fashioned cocktails were excellent and the ice block had their logo imbedded in it for a unique touch. For our main dishes, we got the 1) Rigatoni and 2) the chicken and both were excellent, the sauces superb, and fair portions for the price. We would definitely visit again! read more

I know they're likely still working out the kinks and normal operations of this place since they're new so I do cut them some slack knowing that, but I'm super bummed. The location is so prime and I love Sangiovese so I thought I'd be equally as obsessed with Tre, but it was underwhelming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is beautiful and ambiance is nice. It wasn't crowded either on a Monday. Overall the space itself is sophisticated and the floor to ceiling windows are amazing when they're open.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter was super friendly and professional. Very nice. We had our meals and drinks quickly. Caesar salad was to start - which is plenty for 2 people - and I love Caesar so I'm pretty easy to appease with this but I wouldn't recommend. The lettuce was kinda wilty/bad and it was super hard to cut. For dinner, I had the lemon pasta which certainly was refreshing and very light. It was definitely the most simple thing on the menu so if you're looking for something not super filling and heavy, this would be perfect. I personally wouldn't get it again even though it was refreshing. I'd like to try one of the red sauce pastas (I tried the Vodka one which was good). Their menu is pretty small and straightforward which I appreciate but I lean towards simpler dishes that aren't fried and creamy and heavy and there weren't too many to pick from here. That's just my preference though so I might not be the right customer for here. The portions are super small for the price which would balance out if they were amazing dishes and unique or super high quality experience/ingredients but it's not. Im sure they're getting a lot of feedback in these early stages so I do hold out hope they'll tweak the menu as time goes on. Follow the grand, ocean-blue doors that lead you into this upscale Italian restaurant and bar. It's located right on Main Street in downtown Carmel and there's a free parking garage around back on the north side of the building. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly hostess and noticed the busy, pretty bar off to our right. The lobby area and space is fancy and nice. We were then brought back into the restaurant and it was super loud. I'm not one to typically notice sound, except that we were put against a concrete wall that was rounded and concrete on three sides of the part we were sat in. All of the sound therefore hit us straight in the ears. I'm not even sure if there was music playing - that was just really loud sounds of silverware hitting and others talking in a way that wasn't relaxing. I wanted to share that because it's something that can easily be fixed with some fabric wall paneling to help build a more relaxing environment (my husband is in the audio industry and pointed it out immediately). The cocktail menu was fun and I ordered the "Naked and Famous" one, which has tequila, an herbal liquor, Aperol, and lime juice. It was strong but delicious and I would definitely order it again. They also have an impressive wine list and several beers on draft. I also appreciated that there was a mocktail listed ("phony negroni"). Our server shared the specials and they all sounded amazing. Then we started looking at the menu. There were SO MANY typos on the menu. Like, at least five. The dishes are all incredibly expensive, so when you read that there's a "saffron risotto carbonara with a 24kt edible gold leaf" but then you see that saffron is spelled with one f and that the word gold accidentally has two l's in it, you start to doubt everything else. If no one bothered to proof read the menu, are they going to bother with details of your food? I'm not sure. We found that to be super weird and continued to find misspellings as we read through. Strange. They were paper menus too, so would be easy to reprint on a whim so that customers can start with a good impression. We got the bread brought to our table and loved that it was hot, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The olive oil combo dipping sauce that was brought with it was great too. My husband ordered the "pappardelle sunday sauce" and I got the pasta of the day with GF pasta. It had shrimp, red sauce, EVOO, zucchini, and some other spring vegetables. It was delicious. They only have the GF option in spaghetti form but I loved it. My husband's was delicious too. We were confused though, as his says it has "fresh pappardelle" but then other pasta dishes on the menu said things like "penne" or "fusilli" and didn't use the word "fresh" before it. The fusilli bolognese dish was $28, so I would expect that it's fresh, homemade pasta for that price. Yet, nowhere on the menu does it say that any of the pasta is made fresh or where it's sourced from, so it does make you question the incredibly high price tags. If it is homemade or sourced locally, that should definitely be something they share with customers out loud and on the menu so we understand where the prices are coming from. For two drinks and two pastas with no apps, salads, or desserts, our bill was almost $100. That is a lot. For customers to return, there needs to be a clear value stated in a bigger way. The food was good but we were just a little rattled by the juxtaposition of grandeur mixed with typos and little slip-ups (we were never offered parmesan, yet our neighbors were and while we were brought bread up top, they weren't brought bread until halfway through their entrees, etc). There is a big, beautiful private room here that would be perfect for business meetings, wedding parties, etc, so definitely pop in to see the space for yourself. With a few menu and sound changes, this place could really be something special and I am cheering them on. read more

We had enough silverware and timing between dishes, which was appreciated. Ok food. It's mostly decent, but it it will cost you a pretty penny. It's not necessarily authentic by any means. Oysters (6 bluepoints for $20...they were the smallest bluepoints I've ever seen, but this isn't the right season, so nothing docked for that. But my problem was they weren't properly shucked, so the meat was still not disconnected to the shell). Steak Tartare (good flavor, but the cut was a little larger than we anticipated). Burrata (really good, but our plate had zero watermelon radish and tomato as described on the menu). Orecchiette all vodka (it was ok, but the pasta was not al dente. the andouille sausage was a different twist and was like cut up hot dogs in dish - not preferred over crumbled Italian sausage in terms of texture). Drinks. We each had a couple cocktails/glasses of wine. Altogether for a several apps and one entree it came out to $200. read more

I had high hopes for this new restaurant, unfortunately it was just OK. It's positioned as "fine dining", but it didn't quite meet that standard. My dish, the Pappardelle was 5/10, the ragu didn't have much taste. My boyfriend had the Bolognese, which was better 7/10, I ended up scooping some of his meat onto my dish to add flavor. Same with the pasta, one of us order the cacio e pepe bucatini and instead got a fettuccine with more of an Alfredo sauce. Not sure if they just ran out of what we ordered, but it would've been nice to know. I got the tagliatelle which was a fusion dish with beef Birria and it tasted great! But everything was extremely small portions too. We all spent around $30-40+ and left hungry. We were looking forward to dining at Tre on Main. It's run by the same group that runs Sangiovese in the Ironworks complex, and we love Sangiovese. Unfortunately, we were severely disappointed in the experience. The service was fine and the food was delicious, BUT: The portions were smaller than most of their competitors in the higher-end Italian restaurants on the north side of Indy and in Hamilton County. While the portions were smaller, the prices were higher. $30-$35 for pasta - without meat. And $65 for ossobuco?! Crazy when there's a competitor just 3-4 blocks away that has a delicious ossobuco for $32. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But the worst part of the experience was the NOISE! Too many hard surfaces, sharp angles, and close tables make this place LOUD. I used an app to check the decibel level, and it came in at 92dB. That's as loud as a lawn mower at a close distance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We won't be back. read more

All glitz and little substance. I will say that the busboys/water boys and hostesses were very on point during our meal. Additionally, the interior is fairly interesting, but beyond that everything was lacking. My wife's risotto was elegant looking but had little to no flavor, other than her comparing it to Kraft Mac n Cheese. My wife also mentioned to the waiter that she is gluten-free so they did ask about bread but then proceeded to deliver her a salad covered in croutons made from the same bread. For a place that is positioning itself as a fine dining establishment, details matter. My pappardelle was decent, but the short rib was dry and not as tender as it could've been. We were looking for a place to celebrate a milestone family event and decided to try Tre. The experience was terrific all around. The parking garage on the back of the building made for a good way to stay out of the snow and was very convenient, We enjoyed terrific service and helpful information on the menu from our server, and enjoyed some great cocktails (the "Vespa" martini and the "midnight in Palermo"). We were excited to try Tre soon after it opened. It's beautiful inside and out. Service was excellent. I had a great cocktail (Naked and Famous) and then really incredible wine that our server recommended. However, we were all very underwhelmed by our meals. Bruschetta was meh, Burrata salad was bland, and the Pappardelle Sunday Sauce wasn't anything special either. Also, oddly there were several typos in the menu which was surprising considering it's such an upscale place. My friends said the oysters were good. Perhaps they'll adjust the menu over time and the food will get better after they get more feedback. My meal was $100 after tip (excluding the appetizer as someone else paid for that) so I did expect excellent food for that cost and unfortunately it just fell short. read more

Service was good but there were only three or four other tables. The Focaccia was really good and drinks were mixed well. We got the Tagliatelle, Raviolo, and Squid ink pasta. Tagliatelle was our teenager he was fine with it he wasn't too hungry but said it was good the portion size was about a medium. Raviolo entre comes with two large Raviolo, it had really good flavor. I had the Squid ink, while the flavor was fine, nothing exceptional, the portion size was one of the smallest I had seen in a very long time. This was the most expensive pasta dish on the menu. After removing the little clam shells from the perimeter I think it was about a measuring cup and 1/2 of food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Too bad, beautiful venue[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. My husband and I went to Tre after weeks of seeing the interior and plates of food on social media with quite the impressive appearance. Upon walking in, it is beautiful and the staff was very kind and accommodating. I had the martini with caviar olives and do recommend as a treat if those are some of your favorite things like they are mine. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer which were good and a change of pace with a cream sauce rather than a red sauce. For dinner, I had the orecchiette and my husband ordered the ribeye (medium rare). My pasta met expectations, but my husband's ribeye was overly charred and came out medium well to well. Upon our waitress asking how it was cooked, we showed her and she immediately got to work fixing it although we were on a time crunch. The manager, Francesco, came out quickly and apologized, but also took it off the bill and provided my husband with two alternative dishes which were the stars of the show in the end! If you are gluten free I highly recommend their gluten free pasta! It was WONDERFUL and not shown on menu! After momentarily second-guessing our decision to try a new restaurant, we were delighted with the customer service and food after a small hiccup! I hope Tre continues to take feedback and be a staple in the downtown Carmel restaurant scene! But I do have some constructive criticism. Service needs to work on timing food and clearing plates. Our soups came while still eating apps and our entree came while eating soup. It makes you feel rushed and takes away from the leisurely upscale experience. Servers were trying to clean dirty plates to bring our food. It's not world ending, but it helps with the experience if those things are tightened up. The fettuccine was definitely fresh made but the dish lacked flavor. I stole the mushrooms from my husband's halibut and it really gave some flavor and taste to the dish that it needed. My husband loved his halibut but he hates mushrooms and that wasn't mentioned on the listing on the menu. Definitely should be in the future. Lobster bisque was so good, creamy but just a tad thick. Still amazing!! Meatballs and bread & dipping oil were delicious. Fresh & hot. We went to Tre for my friend's birthday - her choice. The server was wonderful - friendly and knowledgeable. That's where it stops. The food was terrible - 3 people had the lasagna special, and the bottom was definitely burned and very hard to chew - almost inedible - we gave the server a sample to take to the kitchen. I ordered the lamb chop special, and it was extremely small for the price. The lamb was barely cooked, and there were about 3 bites on each chop. The vegetables had something on them that made them bitter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is extremely noisy - we had to yell to be heard, and as it filled up it got noisier.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We did get free desserts - I wasn't sure whether it was the birthday or because of the bad food. Simply, incredible waiters and bad food We sat down and got their bread, pretty good but comparable to Convivio. The entrees were absolutely dissatisfying. The fish they filet in front of you was a show but you don't get meat enough for one. The ossobuco shouldn't even be on the menu. It's a dish that's difficult to make, and this place shows it by making it taste like meat you'd put into a soup. Spaghetti just tastes like it's from a can. We got tiramisu and espresso for dessert, should've gone to Kroger for both. Would've been better. Just left after an incredibly loud & noisy dinner. Had to struggle hearing our friends across the table. One positive was our server Debbie. Very pleasant & accommodating. Stay away from the risotto carbonara, it has absolutely no flavor. Now the frosting on the cake. I got through 3/4 of my pappardelle only to find a metal piece in my short ribs. Come to find out it was a piece from a scouring pad. We were told the manager would be coming to our table to talk to us. He never took the time. My entree was removed from the bill, but the damage was done. Lack of manager's apology spoke volumes. Sorry to say we're a one & done. Lynn F. read more
