Handle's Homemade Ice Cream, is a great ice cream shop anywhere you can find them. Lucky for all of…read moreus, they're popping up everywhere. There's a reason for that. Ice cream is delicious and the servings are pretty generous. Lines can get fairly long during a rush but they tend to go quickly. There is very limited seating in front of the store on the parking lot. So you will mostly see people eating in their car or standing around. I wish there were more places to sit. What we love: Cookies & cream Blue monster Banana Banana cream pie Bananas foster Black cherry Brownie dough Chocolate chunk Chocolate chip cookie dough Chocolate peanut butter brownie Graham central station Horchata Pistachio Rocky road S'mores Snickerdoodle I'm sure there is more that I am forgetting. They also offer sorbets, sherbets, ices, shakes and sundaes. Serving sizes are pretty generous. Handel's is a business we like to have in rotation for frozen treats. You can't go wrong. Staff are mostly teens and early twenties I would think, but they're friendly and professional. So we always have a good experience at Handel's. If you've never tried them, you definitely need to grab some for yourself.

With the wide selection of ice cream flavors, I always get choice paralysis. It's wonderful you can try a few flavors before picking the right one. All the ice cream is so fresh, fluffy, and the variety keeps you wanting to come back and try something new. I like texture in my ice cream and Handel's is really great at mixing the right ingredients/toppings in their ice cream. I recently got a Mud Pie and the brownie was made just right. Not too soggy, didn't have a weird taste to it. It was cold but still had a good chew to it. Parking is always easy to find although on busier nights, you'll have to park quite far and wait in a longer queue. I've only been here once during the day and there isn't much shade provided for the seated area. Honestly there isn't much seating in general which I can understand due to the way the location is. It would be ideal to improve the seating, if possible. Two tables with no umbrella/shade isn't appealing during hot summer days and you're stuck eating ice cream in the car.

Vanilla Bakery Cafe is one of those places you almost don't want to tell people about. Great…read morecoffee, excellent pastries, and the Honey Cake is worth the trip by itself. It's easily the best I've had in Orange County. Moist, light, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. The café has a cozy atmosphere that makes it a great spot for a casual coffee date or catching up with someone. Fair prices, friendly service, and consistently good quality. I'll definitely be back.

Iced Raf Coffee (5.90 for a medium): 2/5. This is reportedly their bestseller, but it just wasn't…read morefor me. It's super sweet and creamy, with a strong emphasis on creamy. I'd even say it has more milk or cream than coffee. It had a potent infusion of something like vanilla or cardamom that I liked, but I wouldn't get it again. Baklava ($6.50): 5/5. The best item I got from Vanilla Street Bakery. Decently sweet with a lovely balance of nuts, dough layers, and infused syrup. I appreciated that it wasn't dripping in a sugary solution; it's definitely more balanced than other baklava I've had. Chocolate Chip Cookie ($5.20): 2/5. A very pillowy, cakey cookie, yet dry and crumbly. The flaky salt on top was a nice touch, but its overall taste and texture didn't deliver a satisfying chocolate chip cookie. Spinach-feta roll ($6.90): 2/5. Staff kindly warmed this up for me without asking, and it looked nice and savory. However, it was extremely dry, doughy, and bland, with hardly any feta. Too bland to enjoy for $7. Eclair ($7.50): 3/5. Chocolate topping and custard filling were good, but the dough was quite dry. Pricey, too! Staff were patient and knowledgeable. Interior has a quaint, cutesy look to it, with different types of seating available. I saw people catching up with friends, reading, or working, so it has a relaxing atmosphere for whatever you feel like doing. In short: most of the pastries unfortunately were very expensive and not worth the cost based on how dry and/or bland they were. Additionally, the highly anticipated Raf Coffee seemed interesting but ended up being too creamy for a coffee drink.

Now, I'm usually a cheesecake, chocolate cake, or crème brûlée kinda gal. Tiramisu and milk cakes aren't typically my first choice, but they looked delicious in the display case that I decided to give it a shot. We ordered the Tiramisu Milk Cake and the Saffron Milk Cake, along with a couple of Rose lattes, and they completely exceeded my expectations. Light, creamy, fluffy, and perfectly balanced. Not overly sweet, not soggy or swimming in espresso...just incredibly fresh. It's one of the best I've had in a long time. Their cakes definitely set the bar high. I enjoyed the atmosphere just as much. The outdoor patio is spacious, making it a great spot to meet up with friends, bring your laptop to get a little work or studying done, or simply enjoy a coffee. The space is warm, welcoming, and filled with beautiful, unique furniture. While in there, you almost forget you're in Orange County. Highly recommend! I'll definitely be back to try their savory menu next.
