When traveling especially in popular tourist places, it's always a toss up between something that is good and overpriced or something not so good and overpriced. Well, at the Tree House Cafe, you can have something good and at a fair price We were visiting Kings Beach for the afternoon on a whim and other than drinks weren't really prepared for lunch. This place's menu looked good plus they had outdoor and patio seating since we had our dog. It was hot out and they allowed well behaved dogs INSIDE with the cooler air. I had the loaded tater tots with creamy Mac and cheese topped with brisket. My son had the tri tip sandwich. The portions were large. I split my tots with my wife and we still had to take some home. My son only finished half. Anytime you order tots, the base has to be crispy with potatoe-y insides. This place delivered on that, plus the mac and cheese added a level of creaminess that paired well with the savory brisket. The brisket was BBQed with out too much sauce, this allowed the smokiness of the meat to come through and not be overwhelmed by the other ingredients. So overall, a winner in my book. I can't honestly say anything about the sandwich because I didn't try any of it. Maybe next time. But if facial reaction counts. My son was smiling .

Staying next door and I've got to say, the coffee and pastries are fantastic. Iced vanilla latte, cinnamon roll, blueberry puff pastry, breakfast burritos, all 10/10. Great morning stop before the beach!

Shared the breakfast plate with the hubby which came with 3 scrambled eggs, tater tots, sausage and toast. It was an ample serving but the tots were room temp. Also got a spinach croissant which also would have tasted better if it were heated. Enjoyed my coconut matcha.

Nice place we're staying at the motel right behind with less than a minute walk. They have weird hours on Monday so watch out for that pretty friendly service and good coffee and comfortable seating.

The Smokey burrito here offered a flavorful bbq take on a breakfast burrito! We stood in line in this petite casual cafe for a bit on Memorial Day weekend for these hearty burritos. Staff was friendly with their recommendations, and they try to get their drinks out quickly. The outdoor seating make for a great lounging spot to enjoy brunch.

Solid cup of coffee! I got a hot white mocha on a snowy day and it totally hit the spot. It was not to sweet. Some of the mocha sauce went to the bottom (happens at any shop, no problem) so I stirred the drink. Service was super fast and I barely had time to admire the Christmastime lego scene featured on the table inside. There are so many details to notice! I'll be back next time I'm in Tahoe.

My go to coffee spot in North Lake that I can walk to from the golf course. This review is only for their coffee as I've never gotten food but it all looks scrumptious. Coming in before 9am seems to be the trick as every time I'm in line to order, about 10 more people come in as this is a very popular spot so be ready for a wait with the line out the front door. Inside is cabin decorated with a great soundtrack always playing, patios out back is secluded with 5 heavy picnic tables and a children's table, the front patio is right on the street next to their smoker which is going right when they open so be prepared for some smoky goodness to increase your appetite and order. THC all the way!

The Treehouse is a fan favorite! Really good coffee, great breakfast burritos, and a super friendly vibe! This mom and pop is conveniently located on the main highway ringing the lake. Plenty of street parking, but not much of a dedicated lot. I highly recommend the breakfast burritos. The tiptip or the pulled pork are serious winners. They're pretty large for the price, and the eggs and goodies are overflowing the hot tortilla. It comes wrapped in foil, so use a fork to rescue the spillage. The coffee was good too. Cold mocha was great, not too sweet. They have oatmeal and soy. Don't miss the Lego tree house near the cash register. You can tell someone put love and care. Very friendly service despite the big touristy rush. Great energy!

We had a great time here! We were looking for a quick breakfast stop and we found this very cozy place! The food also has caught our attention! We got the breakfast burrito and it was one of the best so far! We will be back for the brisket Burrito ! The staff were very friendly and was pleasing to be with! The prices for the drinks were a little bit too high but other than that the food is amazing! Highly recommend it for people that will come and visit!

Food was pretty good! I got a trip tip sandwich, which was AMAZING. My bf got a chicken sandwich, which was above average. I also got a lavender latte. Vibes are chill and relaxing. People are also nice here. There was a mix up with my latte (someone took my latte by accident and left theirs behind) and they were kind enough to remake it for me. Would definitely want to come back to try their breakfast or dinner next time.

Smoked chicken salad sando, so so good

They are always so nice here, no matter how long the line. And the food is always so delicious

Immediately when we walked up the cashier, which was a young lady, at the front was not welcoming and didn't greet us, she was very dismissive, making us sound dumb for paying with cash because they didn't have enough change in their drawer. I had a party of 6 placing orders, and 4 of us were able to get our orders taken but the last 2 in our group, also under the age of 14, were denied service because they were closing for lunch, which seemed extremely unprofessional because the cashier upfront also knew that we came in as a group because there were no other people taking orders, but us. We were confused and frustrated because they have a sliding door so there was no signage that they were closing at 3 until they slid the door to close the shop. If we knew, we wouldn't have placed orders. They close at 3 and reopen at 4 for their lunch, but I just wish the cashier would've at least gave us a notice because we didn't have the time to wait another hour to just place an order for the rest of our party. I went in asking for a refund so we can get food elsewhere that will cater to our whole party of 6 because it felt wrong to just eat in front of the other 2 people in our group. I was denied a refund by the cashier because they already "started making our order" is what she said. I still requested to have a refund made and she rolled her eyes and went to the back to grab her manager, and to compensate the manager said they would add an extra $1 sauce, or a $3 drink.. Our order itself was $48 and the others, $54 so that just didn't seem to fix the problem that we had. Since we were denied a refund, we just agreed on them adding a bit more things into our order. They added an extra side of mozzarella sticks which we didn't order, which kind of compensated... We ended up just sharing each other's order with the other two that didn't get an order placed.. we were still hungry after that and had to get food still elsewhere. The manager also tried to clear up the problem by just laughing it off and said something along the lines of "we good amigo?" (we had a spanish speaking person in our group) once they walked to the back room for lunch. It also rubbed us the wrong way because it was very dismissive and made it seem like our problem wasn't a big deal. So overall, the food was good.. the service was just horrible. I understand the need to take a lunch break because they deserve one, but it was just the bad service, bad compensation, and the cashier at the front not giving us a notice, and overall being rude.
