    Mango Cheesecake
    Helen C.

I ended up popping in simply because I saw a sign outside that read "Voted best cheesecake in Vancouver." Being the dessert fiend I am, I had to go in. Mango Cheesecake (4.25/5): The sign did not disappoint; this seasonal cheesecake is genuinely very good. It is less dense and more tart (think cream cheese vibe) than typical cheesecakes. It almost feels like a fluffier, fruity cousin to a classic cheesecake. It is a bit pricey for a slice, but pretty worth it if you enjoy cheesecakes. I didn't try any of the drinks, so I can't speak for those, but the cheesecake is pretty delicious, though not mindblowingly so. The service is fast and friendly, too.

We got a slice of the Maple Walnut Cheesecake ($7.75) which I thought was a little steep for the size. It was a very delicious cheesecake, don't get me wrong. Very very rich with a nice graham crust, but it wasn't so mind-blowing that I would want to pay $7.75 for a slice. the space is super cute with a good number of tables. You can do work thanks to the free wifi that they offer, and it's super cool that it's next to the Gastown Steam Clock

Cute little place to have coffee! Had their caramel macchiato and may I say, their cups are huge! It was foamy and pretty tasty overall. The place is small but cozy. You can sit looking outside their giant clear windows and enjoy the city. Or grab a table. They also have complimentary water station. The service is nice and friendly. Place is not as crowded as the Starbucks down the street. Nice quiet place to unwind if you as

This is some of the best cheesecake I've had! They are known for their cheesecake in Vancouver, and they have been voted as such. There are several locations, but I went to the original one off the water. They were warm and friendly when we walked in, and I was able to order two cups of apple cider and Ferrero Roche cheesecake. The only con I have is that they do not take American Express, but they allowed me to use American cash and gave a discount to adjust to the American rate. We were able to find a table, although it was crowded, and enjoy the cider and cheesecake. They were quick to clean up our plates and cups when we were done.

If you love cheesecake and are in vancouver this place is a must. Just look at my photo. Coconut cheesecake was BOMB and I'm not that big of a fan of coconut but I wanted to go out of the box and pick something other than basic cheesecake. Absolutely best slice I've had by far Whip tastes like make in house Plated beautifully They even set up two forks since they knew we were sharing you (see pics) Will come again it for more before we leave

I have been to this place twice recently. It's pretty near to my place, so for me it's easy to ask my friends to join me for coffee here. I had cappuccino here, which tasted good. I also tried their cheesecake but sadly it was not up to my liking. I found it a bit dense. Their chicken samosa tastes good though. I wish they had more selection of teas as I'm more of a tea person. Staff is friendly and the location is great.

    Almond Milk Iced Mocha!

Ok coffee, really good cheesecake... In Gastown, for the first time and stopped into Trees Organic Coffee for a pick me up. Grabbed an Iced Mocha with Almond Milk and a slice of Blueberry cheesecake. The signs state The Best Cheesecake in Vancouver, and it was really good! The Cheesecake was creamy and sweet but not overwhelming. They offer different versions of their Cheesecake. NY, Maple Walnut, The Sin (chocolate and cherry), Chocoholic, and Key Lime. This month their monthly Cheesecake is Very Berry ( strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, and blueberry). The coffee was just ok. Tasted good but the Mocha was not fully incorporated into the drink. Nevertheless I definitely recommend grabbing a drink and Cheesecake to pass the time in the sunny summer day of Vancouver.

I'm not sure what the appeal of the Gastown Steam-Powered Clock is. Throngs of people stare at it, take snaps in front of it, and wait for it to start blowing the opening bars of some old circus tune. But they all congregate around it like it's the second coming. Well, Jamie W. and I decided to duck the crowds quite inadvertently into this somewhat hidden cafe. Packed with tourists, Trees has a surprisingly nice vibe, but I may have been swayed by the cheesecake. Billed as the "Best Cheesecake in Vancouver" - Jamie W. and I had reservations about that claim since it required a payout of C$5.99 for a slice. But we went for the New York, plain except for a decorative drizzle of chocolate and caramel at the bottom and a smidgen of whipped cream (see photo). It was very good, although the lemon they use as an accent split us down the middle. I loved it. Jamie hates lemon in sweets. For the appropriate accompaniment, I had a tall latte for C$3.50, which was perfectly frothy and not too sweet (see photo). All in all, it was an unexpected sweet tooth satisfier as we pondered the underwhelming clock. Wait, what's that?...is it magic...or a midget playing a broken kazoo? You be the judge. FOOD/BEVERAGE - 4 stars... hey they're right, this IS the best cheesecake in Vancouver!...well, it's the ONLY cheesecake I've had in Vancouver AMBIANCE - 4 stars...compact cafe brings on the cozy in a tourist-heavy 'hood SERVICE - 3 stars...they certainly brought it over, alright TOTAL - 4 stars...a nice, unexpected treat in the gassy part of town

Being a cheesecake fanatic as I am, Trees Organic caught my attention with their selection. I tried the walnut, coffee and mocha flavors. I loved the walnut more but I prefer more dense and creamier kind of cheesecake. It was worth checking out, though

I came here for desserts and coffee with friends after dinner. It was a bit difficult to find street parking, so be prepared that you might have to drive around and look for parking meters. We parked two blocks away on Powell Street and walked to the restaurant. Each of us ordered a mocha, decaffeinated coffee and peppermint tea respectively. I tried the cheesecakes at this restaurant in the past. I knew that the texture of all their cheesecakes was very heavy and thick, so my friends and I ordered one piece of very berry cheesecake to share, so it was a good portion for three of us. Plus, each of us got our own beverages. Everything worked out pretty well. The service was okay. Not outstanding but not bad. It was just like a cafe, so we wouldn't expect there was an excellent service. We got there around 8:30pm. This restaurant/cafe was quite busy having many customers inside and outside (outside seating). Usually dessert places close early but this one is closed at 10pm. I wouldn't mind to come back here for a coffee or cheesecake if I am in the same neighbourhood.

Well I didn't love the coffee, but the cheesecake was good - Not the best I've had (so far the best was in Denmark at Copenhagen Street food, food hall), but it was tasty and there were several options. What I did love was the ambience. It had window seating overlooking Water Street and a few outdoor tables where you can enjoy your cheesecake with a view of the steam clock that goes off every 15 minutes.

I had one of the the best cheesecakes ever here. The texture was smooth and nice consistency of the cake.

I'm lactose intolerant and their cheesecakes did NOT bother my stomach. Tasted good, creamy texture without the backlash.

We ordered the following: Tiramisu Latte Caprese Bite London Fog Apple Cookie Cherry Matcha Tonic Tiramisu Sea Salt Caramel Gelato The Cherry Matcha Tonic was pretty but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. I should have just gone with my original gut instinct and chosen a hot beverage like Hojicha Latte or something like that. I was sort of thirsting for something cooler for a change though, and the Cherry Matcha Tonic was the first "cool" drink that caught my eye so I decided to go for it. Won't do that again. Everything else was good though. The Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was the star of the show! In the store there's a sign beneath their gelato section that says "Canadian Gelato Champion". I believe it after tasting the Sea Salt Caramel! They had Nama Chocolates too. I was tempted to get some but...only so much a person's wallet and waistline can handle at one time. Will try the Nama Chocolate some other time. You can order in person here, or you can place an "Express" order at the Kiosk. We tried both ways of ordering. Ordered at the counter first and then after finished my Cherry Matcha Tonic decided I wanted to try the Sea Salt Gelato so then tried ordering that from the Kiosk. Most of the parking in this area is paid but I lucked out and got a free spot right around the corner from this place!

I could tell even from outside that it's a popular work and study type of coffee shop with your free wifi and outlets. I hope this post doesn't give it away and make it way too crowded for me to find a seat next time. There's a steady flow of people visiting the stores while I was there on a weekday between late afternoon and early evening but there's always extra seat for anyone new looking for a desk to work or chat with friends. A few could be better are the pricing and temperature. They offer free oat milk substitute and -$0.35 for bringing your own cup but no more employee discount. And it was so cold in there, I could see a lot of people kept their winter jackets on, I don't think it's a heating issue but the constant windy seems to suggest the AC is on rather than the heater, oh wells Im out of there now. For that reason, unless I'm bundled up, it'll be a hard sale to be back again! I got a hojicha latte and it as pretty good, perfect sweetness and temperature for my cold with no ice. The barista was super great to work with.

Knowing how good 49th Parallel is with coffee I thought I'd try their version of the London Fog. I wasn't disappointed. In fact it was best London Fog I've ever had. I've had them at other places but I've never seen a preparation like 49th. They use loose leaf Earl Gray tea in a tall paper tea bag. They put the bag in your cup pour the steamed milk in and the tea steeps right into the milk. It's the smoothest London Fog I've had and isn't cloyingly sweet like many I've had.

I was in need of a snack and this was a short walk from our hotel. 49th Parallel is well known for their thoughtfully sourced, house-roasted coffees and their cult-favorite donuts, but they also offer a small menu of sandwiches if you're looking for something more filling. It wasn't too busy when we got there, though most of the tables were taken. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory: the chestnut brûlée donut, a salted caramel old fashioned, and a couple of breakfast sandwiches--the Doug and the Cascadia--both served on soft, buttery brioche buns. My other half also grabbed an Americano to go with it all. The chestnut brûlée donut was my fav of the bunch. The chestnut flavor was perfectly balanced--nice and light. The sandwiches were also good, especially thanks to that pillowy soft brioche. Overall, 49th Parallel was the perfect stop for a small, simple snack! Would recommend.
