Alex coordinated his crew of 3 to both pack and load my two bedroom & one bath house in the Bay area in one day (roughly 10 hours), and then Alex, himself, drove the moving truck all the way to Washington state. That's 700 miles! He worked with a different, local crew to coordinate the unloading, making sure that I was happy with the placement of everything at my new location. Both crews were very pleasant and professional. No one smoked (which I have had other movers do in the truck!) and nothing was damaged in either house. My experience with Trek Movers was extremely frustrating and exhausting. I will note that the movers themselves were wonderful and made the best out of a bad situation. The biggest issue seemed to be with management. They were supposed to arrive between 2-6pm, but they didn't arrive until nearly 8pm, as it was getting dark. They didn't finish until 2am!!! I wonder whether the job took longer than expected because they were clearly exhausted from a long day, trying to navigate and assemble things in the dark, and making every effort to not receive a noise complaint. It was a local move from a 1-bedroom apartment with almost everything packed up and organized, and I even let them leave most of the stuff in the garage of the new place instead of hauling things upstairs at that hour. The most upsetting part was that they were unable to get my couch inside. It was an inch or less away. I think it should be possible to fit based on the measurements, even though it's a complicated job. In order to make this right, I would appreciate if they could come back at another time during daytime hours and try again. There was some confusion over how much I owed. Dave told me over the phone that to make it right, I could pay whatever I felt was fair. The moving team had not heard this message and instead offered me a 5% discount. I asked to pay the 3-hour minimum rate. I ended up being charged about double what I expected to pay after dealing with all of this hassle. I paid it because I was tired and didn't want the movers themselves to be shorted in any way for their hard work and long day, but I want a refund from the company. When I booked Trek movers, they clearly knew that the day I chose would be busy. I wish they didn't schedule me at all, so I could go with a different moving company that had actual availability! I think they took on more jobs than they could manage in a day, and I got screwed over because of it. read more

Overall the guys did a good job - our stuff got from point A to point B in one piece and we didn't have any issues. My biggest complaint is that they took FOREVER to move us out of our little one bedroom apartment. We packed everything ourselves and took apart furniture we thought would be necessary to take apart beforehand to be sure it made the move fast and we wouldn't have to pay an arm and a leg. The guys managed to take 3 hours just to get the stuff out of the apartment and into the truck. Again... everything was packed up for them and furniture was taken apart.... When we moved ourselves last time it took us an hour and a half to get out of the first location with just me and my fiancé... We paid way more than we budgeted for which SUCKED. I tried to get the guys to hurry up a bit because they seriously broke the bank with how long they took. I understand they're diligent in making sure nothing gets damaged, but just know if you plan on having them move your stuff it'll be around $1200-$2000 even just for a one bedroom. We paid about $1200 but if we had them take down our furniture and rebuild it I could see it easily adding up!!!!! The guys were super nice - no beef at all... just wish it didn't cost us an arm and a leg. read more

I used Trek movers to move my 3 bedroom home from the Bay area to Nevada. The first thing that surprised me is that they didn't use any type of inventory system for the boxes. Last move I did with a different moving company, every item that went in the truck was numbered and documented so you were sure you were receiving everything on the other end. This wasn't the biggest deal, but definitely made me worry that something wouldn't arrive. When we got to our new location, the help they hired locally were not very good and needed constant guidance from myself or the one guy they sent who was in charge. Unpacking is where I found the most issues. They packed our belongings and honestly I'm surprised most of my stuff survived. All of my glassware, including crystal glasses that were my grandmothers, were packed with a single piece of paper wrapping them. Then all of the glassware was just stacked in one box. Luckily only one glass was broken. They also took my artwork, some cheap internet purchases, but also some more expensive nicely framed pieces and just put two pieces facing each other and wrapped them with plastic wrap. No bubble wrap or cardboard was used on any art. My last mover used both on every picture. Again, everything survived, but there were some scratches. Overall my stuff made the trip, so it's hard to be too critical, but I personally wouldn't use them again, especially if they are packing your belongings. read more

My experience is quite different from the rest. I think it's important to share it, and then you can make up your own mind. This company was not as forthcoming with me concerning the expenses I would accrue based on the details of my move as were needed. I was told in a text to expect to pay around 600 for the move. For a one bedroom apartment, I paid over a thousand dollars. It took the movers 6 hours, plus 1 hour travel time. Now, it's imperative to note that my items were pre packed. It took them 4 hours just to put my items in the truck. I was concerned about all of this, so I sent a text to my contact. The manager, Andrew, called me. He was extremely rude, giving me a physics lesson to help me understand the effort involved in moving items into a truck, then back out.
