As far as I'm concerned, this is the best restaurant in NOLA. It is inside a hotel and right across the street from Luke, which we also tried (and wasn't as good). The service was impeccable, our waiter was Bryan. We both had glasses of the house red wine which was excellent. We had the boudin bites for appetizer - phenomenal. I had the Short Rib with Pappardelle and my husband had the crawfish etouffee pot pie. Both were incredible. We skipped dessert because we were too full. I had mentioned it was my husband's 50th birthday in the reservation and it would've been nice if they at least acknowledged it, but they didn't. The food was 10 out of 10! I think we ordered virtually everything on the brunch menu. Get the shrimp, get the French toast! From the front desk to the table the service was "Meh"! A friend told me about Trenasse (attached to Intercontinental hotel). Came here because of buddy told me about the happy hour from 3 to 6 PM. They came here mainly for the oysters and smashed several dozen of them. I came and decided to try the fried brie Smashburger, stuffed chicken, wings, and the barbecue shrimp. The fried brie Smashburger was delicious, but I cut the brie in half and smeared it within the sandwich. The slice of Brie that they give you in my opinion is way too much, I couldn't eat all that brie. Once I did good with that burger, it was time to kill it. It was delicious and the french fries were nice and crispy. The burger and fries 8/10. And stuffed chicken wings were a twist and chicken wings with chicken sausage. It was chicken, jalapeño sausage, hot honey, and some ranch dressing at the bottom. It's pretty good, but I couldn't eat a whole bunch of it, as the flavor was pretty intense, but overall 7/10. Lastly, was the barbecue shrimp. The shrimp came head on tail on and had a good flavor. This is a New Orleans, so you get tons of shrimp everywhere and even some much much more flavorful and pizzazzy, but overall, the shrimp were delicious and the barbecue sauce was a twist on barbecue sauce. During my visit to New Orleans, I was on the hunt for some incredible food, and I am so glad I stumbled upon this place. The BBQ shrimp appetizer was, without a doubt, one of the best dishes I've ever had at a restaurant. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the garlic bread that accompanied it was simply outstanding. Even after returning home from my trip, I still find myself thinking about that dish. The blue crab bisque was delicious as well (8.5/10), though I'd suggest not going for the entree size unless you're very hungry. The portion is huge, and it might be difficult to finish, especially if you're not starving. The garlic bread, as mentioned earlier, was excellent. I also tried the Soup and Half Po'Boy combo, which is a great deal. While the gumbo that came with it was fantastic (9/10), the Po'Boy didn't quite do it for me. It wasn't anything special, and I would rate it a 5/10. Overall, this spot was a great experience. If I ever make my way back to New Orleans, I'd definitely be excited to try more of their dishes. On my most recent visit, our server was super helpful when it came to helping our friends from out of town make the best choice for a meal and she also gave us advice on places to check out in the area. On my last visit, I went with the fish of the day, which was the puppy drum. It was blackened and tasted so good. I loved the potatoes and arugula that came as the sides. The meal was delicious.
