We stopped in about 1 pm on Saturday for drinks and appetizers, there wasn't anyone immediately to greet us took a few minutes then a lady walked up and said we could sit anywhere, We chose a booth and took about 10 mins then a waitress asked if we'd been helped yet then she was really nice and attentive. They brought out chips and salsa and two little breads which were really good We ordered the birria tacos appetizer and the Nachos with beef. The birria tacos were really good but the nachos beans had absolutely no salt, the flavor wasn't the best and the beef meat was super fatty that every other bite I'd have have to spit out the fatty hard part. It had an off taste to it also Also the glass my water was in had some one else lip mark still on it lol- it was kind of funny but also kind of gross The waitress brought us two little plates to share our apps but then said oh this plate is really dirty then brought new one, the place itself is big and nicely decorated and has potential but the food flavoring and seasoning and cleanliness needs more attention read more

Amazing food. Run don't walk here. It's that great!! My bf and I went as we are always excited when a new place opens in Oxnard. Oxnard, especially downtown, needs some glow up for sure. Both delicious! My only complaint is that wish the tortillas for the carne Asada were handmade. It would elevate the dish more. Our first time here , we heard this place was open late !! So we took a chance and headed that way at 9:00pm , when we got there , it was super loud ! We stood at the front for about 10 minutes , no one came To the front , then I rang the bell , and rang still no one . Finally they arrived , took our order , told us to sit anywhere. Our drinks arrived very late , and one drink was horrible ! You can tell the bartender has no experience. $17 drink it should be made right . The wine came 20 minutes later , food late too . They have hand made tortillas for the birria tacos , Wich was a plus . They allowed my dog inside !! Dog friendly! So awesome ! The churros were off the hook !! So delicious!! We stopped by here for their Sunday brunch. First off, the service was absolutely great! They are very accommodating, helpful and just all around nice people. We brought our dogs and were able to sit on the patio in the corner, out of the way. They brought water bowls for our dogs which was super thoughtful. We started with the omelette bar, made fresh to order. The lady preparing the omelettes was very friendly and overall super welcoming. The pastor tacos were great, fresh pressed tortillas and pastor off the trumpet made for some great tacos. The Mariachi band did a great job and sounded really good. The rest of the brunch foods were pretty good, including the carving station with tri Tip, ham and pork loin. There were many more dishes, but I finished it off with some churros filled with dulce de leche which was perfect. Overall, a great experience, great service, great food. read more

As a fan of the former Sushiway, I'm so happy this restaurant now occupies this space. Tres Amores also features sushi, made by the legendary Felipe, he is an artist and simply makes the best sushi that keeps me coming back. When I heard that the new Tres Amores would offer sushi, I can't express how excited I was, it was a great gift indeed! It's a unique experience to have chips and their delicious house made salsa followed by the delicious sushi rolls which are available Thursday-Sunday. The salsa has a vibrant bright orange color that is so appealing. It has the perfect balance of medium heat and freshness, and with the delicious homemade chips it's a special treat for sure. The staff is wonderful, they always make me feel at home and offer a great place to relax and leave any worries behind. They also have tvs which will have your favorite baseball, football games to complete the experience. I love their Happy Hour while watching a game. Lastly they have started having a taco station outside which features a trompo of juicy al pastor and homemade corn tortillas. Fantastic. I haven't been yet to their Sunday brunch but I've heard they have live music and an epic buffet. It's definitely on my list to try very soon. Nice big open space and the staff are all very nice. The menu is ambitious, surprisingly diverse. Sushi, Mexican, Pasta, Burgers, Sandwiches. The prices are reasonable. The Chips and salsa are out standing. Really delicious specialty cocktails and there is Alcohol in them. We ordered ahi ceviche. It wasn't bad but not exceptional either. I had Pasta Pomodoro, rich and creamy, but needed more vegatables. Hubby got the Pollo con tres chiles and it was the absolute bomb. So good. Loved the rice, loved the beans. This was my first time coming here as it used to be known as SushiWay before. I came in for Sunday brunch. However, we were not explained how their brunch buffet worked or what we could order. Our waitress also took a while to come and introduce herself. We also had to ask how the buffet style worked and she kept it brief. We ended up asking at the different stations what other options they offered. Food wise everything tasted great. They have their classic beans and rice but I loved their chilaquiles. They also offer lots of side options such as sour cream, pico de gallo, and salsa options. They offered a station with pancakes and churros. Another had different types of meats, eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage. Outside they had a taco and omelet station which was my favorite. They placed mariachi which is great for families. Brought my mom here for her birthday on Sunday. The brunch was decent with a lot of options. ($30 per person +gratuity) I didn't like that you had to walk in and out to the patio for omelettes or tacos while the rest of the items were in the dining and bar area. This is a new place so maybe they can improve the set up. I really did like their creamy pasta and chicken. Our waitress was very attentive and that was a big plus. Beautiful new restaurant in Oxnard! The service was great. All the servers were very attentive if our group. Came in for lunch. I ordered camarones a la diabla. And some sushi rolls. Th shrimps where cooked just right and the salsa was spicy and flavorful. For dessert we had the churros which is served with scoops of French vanilla and fresh fruit and two Macarons whip cream not one detail left behind. Went by on a Friday around 7 pm to have dinner not busy at all the hostess sat us at a table by the bar and we sat and waited waited waited with multiple servers passing by us without even acknowledging us at all and got no service at all ended up getting up and walking out. read more

Sunday Brunch: your group has to be all present to be seated (we're good with that). They allow you to pay separate and tip is included if you're a party of 6 or larger. Basically, You pay before you are seated. (Mimosas not included) The food was very good! I cannot complain about the food because for brunch the food was very delicious and fruit was fresh. The service could be improved, but we knew that as we read many reviews prior. Out waitresses was very slow with the mimosas (about one every 30-40 min) and there is a time limit (which was not mentioned when we first inquired.) The busboy who assisted her was on POINT! He was on it! We ordered tequila shots several times through our time there and had to remind our waitress. At one point another lady came over and asked, "How were your shots?" To which we mentioned we had never received them. The place is new and gets really busy. I think we will wait a little before we go again. The Mariachi was good as well. read more

Decided to come try out this new place. Came close to closing time and was seating at the bar. The menu has a lot of variety, from typical American to pastas to sushi and Mexican food. I tried the La Cavalera cocktail which if you are a fan of white Russians you will enjoy. Complimentary chips and salsa are really good, the salsa is a but spicy which I enjoyed. I ordered a couple sushi hand rolls and the quesa birria. Both were delicious and very reasonably priced. I especially loved the chipotle salsa that came with the quesa birria. My boyfriend and I came to this location expecting the old SushiWay and were surprised to see a new restaurant. We decided to try it because their menu still had what we were both looking for (mexican/sushi). It was our date night and I think this restaurant is the perfect place for a date or for a lowkey atmosphere. They made a lot of improvements on the inside and to the menu from what was there previously! The front of house staff was quick and very kind. We instantly felt comfortable and welcomed. We also were happy to learn it was a family owned business and that our server was the owners daughter. This showed us that they were invested in their customers and business. My boyfriend ended up ordering four different hand rolls, and felt they were better than the old establishments sushi as well. He loved the salmon roll and the avocado roll! To me their portions looked bigger as well. I ordered the carnitas entree and also thoroughly enjoyed that. The portion of meat was generous and the sides of rice and beans were delicious. The only criticism I had about my meal was the meat could have used a little more salt/seasoning. However, this may be a personal preference and not everyone may feel this way. It's important to say that I would definitely order the carnitas again!! My drink was delicious and perfectly made, I believe I ordered the El Catrin. The chips and salsa were also perfect, it was hard to stop eating them! If they sold their salsa I would buy it, that's how much we liked it! Overall, it was a really wonderful experience and we both agreed we would go back. Our servers were delightful and to see the owner or manager there and have them interact with customers shows how important their hospitality and business is to them. The menu prices are fair when considering the portions, and if anything the sushi is very inexpensive for the prices. It was surprising to see they weren't completely full on a Friday night, this is definitely the kind of restaurant that deserves that. Not good! My husband and I went last night around 8 and had such an interesting, awful experience. First off, my husband ordered a water to drink and they gave him a bottle of water. He then clarified his request by saying he just wanted tap water and the server said they don't serve tap water anymore. Huh?!? Yet, we saw filled water pitchers off to the side, so how does that make sense. We both were like, "umm ok". He then had to ask for a cup and ice because that wasn't given initially. The water that he was given was a 12oz. generic brand, nothing special (this is relevant for later). The menu was all over the place: fish, pasta, Mexican, sushi; like pick one to be good at. We ordered the nachos and 3 rolls of sushi. The nachos had loads of onions that smelled like b.o., but were overall okay. The meat had good flavor. The sushi was unpleasant all together. The popcorn shrimp roll was the one that wasn't bad, but it's not something to rave about. Now to the bill...we were charged $4.00 for a generic bottle of water!!!!! Less than my sprite, $2.95?!?! According to the receipt we ordered a 16oz. Fuji water. Not correct, again generic water 12oz. We also never asked for a bottle of water in the first place, he wanted tap water. Whoever's ridiculous business decision this is, is quite out of their mind. How is this a thing? We will definitely not be back and will never recommend this place. read more

I had read the great reviews about this new concept at a place ive been to under all other concepts Casa Escobar , and the several changes after that was there before Sushi way and when there i recall asking for items on menu that they did not have so i go back again got early dinner on a Sat almost empty asked again for what appealed to me and they said they dis not have it always seems to be healthy choices like veggies and Brussels sprouts if you don't have it why have it on your menu?? The bartender seemed to know cocktail drinks well but did not know what "aqua Fresca" was until i explained when asked about horchata she said they did not have any and would have to make it (this place was not busy so not sure why no horchata was ready when there is a cocktail on menu with horchata ?) my husband ordered ceviche which he liked i had a small side of rice with coconut shrimp (it was ok prob frozen and cooked it was ok) the Sushi guy was very nice and sushi looked great but this time did not order maybe when i go back sometime will order. Please owners have your items you have on menu on hand or just remove if you don't have its highly disappointing to chose to spend money at a venue that may not have what you advertise on menu .
