So ordinary I love coming here and was so excited when they opened the location near South Mountain! However, the service level and the quality of coffee is terrible! 1. Why do you have a blank menu and have to wait to order until you pull up to the window then wait another 10 minutes for your order? 2. Why is the girl at the window wearing a headset to take orders when you do t even utilize your speaker? 3. The coffee quality... yuck! I always get the same exact drink regardless of location and let me just say that you need to train your baristas at this location to be consistent. My cafe Frida tasted bitter, had no whip the past 2 times, and bland. 4. Maybe you should all have a uniform or suggest properly fit clothing because being assisted by a girl at the window who doesn't even make eye contact with her stomach hanging out taking orders is not a good look for business. read more

This place is amazingly delicious! Highly recommended... far better than Starbucks. However, the sole issue I have, and it's the reason for my 3 stars, is the wait time!!!!! So frustrating to wait as long as we do. (The wait time is long as the orders are taken at the window -there's no pre-ordering.) Perhaps copy Chick-fil-A and have someone take the orders as soon as you pull up to the line to help speed up the process. Please fix this! If you visit. During the pandemic I was always looking up places to order food in my neighborhood. When this place showed up on Maps I totally wanted to try it just from reading the reviews to looking at the photos!! Finally got the chance yesterday and ordered the strawberry horchata and my husband got the Tres Aztecas (mocha latte). We both enjoyed our orders and the customer service was friendly. Such a fun menu and something different than Starbucks that is really good too. The flavors are Mexican dessert classics. Definitely worth a try!! read more

First time to Tres Leches Cafe I have been wanting to join in on the amazing goodies for some time now. Sunday about 1030 we went by the location even though online they showed open they were closed but luckily we live in South Phx so we hit their drive through location. The drive through wrapped around the bldg but there was only two ppl in line so we decided to deal with the heat. Everyone complied with the mask obligations which was great for me being prego I don't want to take chances. We got our order really quick, we ordered a Pina Loca & 2 Horchata Cafes and some mini pans. I had the Pina Loca it was so yummy can't wait till I'm not prego to add a shot to it! I saw on FB that Tres Leches Café opened a new drive-thru on Central Ave so I thought I'd try it out this morning. There were quite a few cars in the drive-thru but there was a sign that said it was faster to park and go to the window - it was right! The barista that assisted me was friendly and informative. I love sweet drinks so she suggested the Flan de Leches latte. I ordered it hot and it was delicious! I also wanted to order a licuado so she offered me samples of the Strawberry Horchata and Tres de La Rosa. Both were really good - I opted for the Strawberry Horchata! In addition to both drinks, I also purchased 2 pink donchas (doughnut-concha hybrids) and a marranito. The barista offered to sign me up for their rewards program which was quick and easy. Decided to give this place a try based on social media posts I've seen... very disappointed! I would compare this to Dutch Bros, over sweetened coffee and way too much sugar. Allow me to send the message to all of you hard core coffee lovers, as well as to those of us who love coffee but search endless for that drink that also has a flavor and definition all in one! I have gone through the Starbuck, Caribou, Coffee Bean, Dutch Bros and some fantastic coffee shops in so cal phases and allow me to say that the three best coffee/expresso drinks I ever had were in Italy, last summer, Albuquerque N.M and now Tres Leches in Phoenix on Southern. Yes some would say oh I'll go to the other location because of the street construction or because let's be honest its in an area that has the best of the local Mexican cusine you can find...the locals will understand..lol look I am of hispanic heritage and this is where my raza is, so I'm good but no one should worry just be smart and behind the mask no one knows you are white toast...lol I digress ..look I personally search for what I call a Mexican Hot chocolate Espresso Coffee and while I have found some in San Diego, ABQ and few other places none and I say again NONE meet what Tres Leches delivers... simply a robust, flavorful and awesome cup of finely brewed Joe!! Now here is the kicker... I had the tres mexicano but they also have a solid assortment of pan dulce that brings me to the great bakeries I grew up being fat at....lol La Fama in my old neighborhood in KCMO and The world Famous Mi Tierra Cafe in San Antonio. Look I drove from Tucson, worked a show and then drove to Tres Leches to sample what I was prepared to be a moderate coffee but not only did I find an all star coffee, the staff was even better than the coffee! Smiling right through the mask I'm sure and patient with me wanting to take a pic and that alone made it worth the trip. Next time you are in Phoenix hit this place up. This place has really good pastries, coffee and more drinks. This is also a really nice place, but it could use artwork in the back. The drive thru is bad, they don't have a lighted menu, or a microphone/ speaker/ 2 windows which makes the line slow. If they added the microphone/speaker and 2 windows then it would be much faster. Also, what makes it slow is that you order at the window then, the other cars are waiting. If they make these improvements, then business would be running faster. I came to the central location to get my morning coffee. Only 3 cars in the drive thru. I thought the wait shouldn't be too long. Well I was so wrong. It took over 30 mins to get to the drive thru window to Even be able to order. They do have a sign saying that if you park and walk up to the window, it would be faster however there is no reason why people that are waiting in the drive thru should wait longer because someone parked and walked to the window. So by the time I got to the window I didn't even order as I didn't expect to wait as long as I did. FYI this was 7am! I won't ever waste my time here! My advice is speed things up! People are trying to get in and out especially in the morning. read more

I did the walk up order which was quick and with late hours it will definitely give an opportunity for a visit. My family had four different drinks so we were able to try various items from the menu. I had the pleasure of coming to this place today with my family; the drinks are good and definitely true to what they're made of. You ask for horchata flavor, you get that's you ask for mazapán, you get that. Every flavor is tasted, good enough to where it's not too overpowering, but still yummy to the mouth. Besides this, I did not like the wait. The issue is that you can't order ahead like a regular drive thru, rather you must order and give served at the window so this process takes longer as you have to be waited and served one at a time. I waited about 20-30 minutes for the drinks. If you don't mind that, it's to totally cool. If you do, you can always walk to the window and order, although I'm sure that's faster, I think the drive thru should be fixed, it would make the business flow better and everyone would be happier. Despite the negative feedback on the drive thru, u would recommend, it's a good place and will definitely come back! read more

Everything is delicious here. I personally love the Cafe Churro. I always make an effort to stop here when I'm visiting Arizona. My friend had the Agua Sucia de Coco and he said it was the perfect balance between coconut water and coffee. I have been here several times and have only disliked my drink 1 time. Everything is so delicious but definitely very indulgent and rich (not their fault). I got the horchata today and ended up having to water it down because it was so sweet and rich. Keep this in mind if you're not used to something as sweet! This place has really fun coffee drinks featuring flavors of the southwest and Mexican culture. I personally love the cafe horchata. Drinks are great and the pan dulces are awesome. The three stars is for the service. Most of the time the person at the window seems annoyed and rude. As a person that loves Mexican flavors but doesn't know the language they always make me feel stupid for asking questions. So, I found one thing I like and just get that. Yes! I love going to this place, people there are awesome, and outstanding hands down the best place to get a coffee & Pan dulces. The manager/ owner is always on the go and super busy but he always connects with his customers and makes sure you are super happy on what you ordered. I love their coffee! 5 star to them. I just went today, their Christmas schedule was from 10am to 5pm I know this because I follow them on Instagram. I arrived at 4:40pm, we waited 35 mins in line, only to get to the window and being told it was already closed, I told them I was in line for over 30 mins and still the guy didn't care. I understand it's Christmas but if you can't keep the word of the schedule then you shouldn't post on social media the hours of "operation" that aren't accurate, a lot of people drive a while to get there.
