We came to Tres Leches Cafe and ordered 2 Shortie Matchas, priced @ $5.35 on the drive through menu board, and when we asked for the total, they replied, "at the window". When we got to the window, we were handed 1 Matcha and as we waited for the second one we paid and thought it was unusual that it was $8.20 when we calculated around $12 with tax included. We asked for the receipt and opted for receipt via text, because they did not have the paper option, and when we received it it showed that we were charged for 1 Tea Latte shortie with oak at $7.35 ($6.60+$.75 for the oatmilk upcharge if we do the math) + tax to total $8.20. We asked the employees about the price difference from the menu and that we wanted two matchas. The employees had a hard time explaining the price difference and when we asked for the second one we were charged $6.60 + tax which totaled $7.20 for the second one. We stopped coming here due to their inconsistency in pricing. We used to get a cafe de olla and one of the sweet mocha ones, the prices were always inconsistent, we were hoping to have a better experience this time. They didn't even have a manager we could speak to. For sure we won't be coming here anymore, nor will we be recommending the place. EDIT: We threw away the drinks because they were horrible. They tasted like coffee sweetener with matcha, too sweet, and they just left this sticky dry mouth taste like medicine. read more

I was running errands in Phoenix and it was almost 9pm and my sweet tooth was hurting for it's nightly sugar fix. I was driving by and see this place and pulled right in. Luckily caught them as they were closing but I got my fix satisfied. Pastries were thick sweet and melt in your mouth delicious. Zareth was wonderful taking care of me. Went through the drive thru for some drinks with friends. I got an OG iced Cafe Horchata and oh my, it was amazing. It was a perfect balance of the creamy and spiced Horchata with the warmth of the espresso. I also got the Dulce de Leche empanada. This pastry was filled with the sweet and slightly salty dulce de leche with a flaky, cinnamon-coated pastry. Service was quick and welcoming. Whenever I'm on this side of town, I have to come visit! It's always a must. I love their cafe de olla, iced with half &half. It reminds me of Oaxaca and with this summertime heat, it hits the spot. Pan is iconic, you can't say no to the pan! Service is always quick, easy, and so much fun! I love talking with the drink artists, and the cashiers. They are so funny and upbeat. The owners are amazing and deserve all the love and the support they giveback to the community They also sell Flowers sometimes, Reusable Coffee cups, and Shirts. I find it so very hard to believe that this is my first review of Tres leches Café as they are extremely close to me, and I have been a fan and a customer of theirs since they were in a tiny little building on Roosevelt. The drink creations are creative, authentic and delicious. The service is usually amazing even though my favorite barista is no longer there. Now, about the building it's adorable, has great paintings and you should plan on taking a selfie while you're there as most customers do. read more

It seems like they have a comprehension issue since they ask if you'd like whip on the drink and even though you say no and they repeat it, they still put whip on the drinks and to "fix" their issue they just scoop it out and leave you with a drink that's not even filled to where it's suppose to go. Guysss this is my new favorite coffee spot and how had I not stopped by sooner?! I stopped by with my sister on Saturday evening and we decided to get off to order thinking there was an "inside." Walking up we realized that we couldn't go inside as there was only a window to order. The employee quickly came up to the window and we placed our orders. I had a small iced Flan latte and my sister ordered a small iced Churro latte. We didn't wait too long and she handed us our drinks. The employee was super friendly and had a smile on her face the whole time we were there. She gave us two conchas for free since she noticed that it was our first time there. This made our day:) The drinks were very good! My flan latte was very creamy, tasty, and it wasn't too sweet, it was enjoyable. My sisters churro latte was another hit. It legit tasted like a cinnamon-y churro. It was gooood. The conchas were delicious as well and they were actually sweet. The bread itself was moist and not dry, which is important - I dislike it when sweet bread is dry and tastes like cardboard. I can't wait to be back! First review of 2024! Appropriate because I love Tres Leches. I've been to their flagship location several times but this was my first time visiting their South Phoenix location. My boba sistah and I finished hiking at South Mountain and I wanted to stop here since it was a few miles away. They are doing construction on Central Avenue for the light rail so it's a bit busy trying to get in and out of this area. This is a drive-thru only location but they have a walk-up window so we ordered our drinks from there. I got the Tres Aztecas, my go-to along with the Tres Mexicanos. I love mochas and these drinks are pretty similar, and I like that they are spiced. The OG is a nice size (their medium) and I usually savor this hot drink throughout the next day. My sistah and her little one enjoyed their agua sucia de nuez and tres paraísos licuado (smoothie) respectively. The barista was friendly and got us our drinks within a few minutes. They have a rewards program so be sure to sign up for that. They send discounts pretty often so we got 15% off of our drinks today. Love to support this small business and will visit when in the area again! They are also very active in the community and support great causes, so I have deep respect for them. read more

I originally got the cafe de frida.... it was extremely watered down, but i feel like if it had a thicker consistency it would be way better for sure. it tasted like a water down horchata.... after trying my boyfriends drink i knew i had to get it as well. Arrived shortly after they opened on a Monday. This is a drive thru only location. They do not have a menu set up on the drive thru board, just bar codes to scan. The building is pretty and colorful so easy to spot. The staff at the window was very nice and patient as this was my first time so I had to look over the menu a bit. I got the flan OG iced coffee and a shorty strawberry horchata smoothie. I asked about the pastries and was told the pumpkin was the best seller. I got that one and the staff threw in a free crema empanada for me to try since I asked about it. I'm glad she did because I liked this one more than the pumpkin one. Always a fantastic experience at 3LC! The drinks are delicious and reasonably priced. The Café de Frida and Tres Aztecas are my favorites, and the strawberry horchata is also delightful. The staff is always welcoming and provides excellent service. I end up leaving with complimentary pan often! The drive-thru is convenient to access from the side street entrance. There is a sweet mural that adds to the ambiance. You can also walk up to the window to order there. The rewards program makes it easy to get free drinks. This spot is a gem!
