This little restaurant is nestled in a corner of Mashpee Commons. They specialize in tapas along with daily special entrees. Have always loved their pear and field green salad which is accompanied by a few small wedges of blue cheese awesomeness. There were many terrific things about our dinner tonight at Trevi. First, our server Mackenzie was hustling the entire time and still managed to take good care of us. Her wine suggestion was spot on. Second, the duck taco makes all other tacos look a little shabby. Delicious, and I almost never eat duck! Third, the chicken under a brick thing was so packed w flavor we couldn't stop licking our lips. It came w gnocchi that were like flavor grenades in the mouth, only gentle and smoky. Another service debacle for pick up. Ordered online, system suggested 4:15, but I selected 4:45. Got there a few minutes early, was told to wait; no problem. Went to check at 4:45 , was told by same hostess, that it won't be ready till 5:15.. when I looked shocked.. she explained," you know we open at 5:00A". Asked for a manager, she Came over and checked and said that they are working on it, but the nightly special I ordered wasn't a available. Enough. When would I have found out the 1/2 of my dinner wasn't going to be in the bag? After I waited an extra 1/2 hour? This is not COVID, this is a staff that doesn't care.. food is fantastic. Went here Sunday of Labor Day weekend, big mistake. We asked for outdoor seating and when they called my cellphone 30 minutes later and we went up to take our outdoor seats the inept hostess said she didn't have a note about our wanting outdoor seating, so we could either wait another 20 minutes, or take a high top table inside. We opted for the second option which was the wrong decision. It was extremely overcrowded and noisy inside, so much so that my wife and I couldn't hear each other. We started to leave and our waitress stopped us, recognizing we were unhappy with our seating arrangement moved us to another table and did her best to appease us, so we ended up sticking it out, but to say the least it wasn't a nice dining experience for me. I've dined here twice now and enjoyed it very much in both instances. Being a wine bar, Trevi has a very good wine selection including many varieties offered by-the-glass. Price ranges for by the glass run from around $6 to $14. I find this to be a great way to try different wines without having to fork over a boat load of cash for a full bottle. Both times I've dined here I got a few tapas along with 2 "small plates" . The roasted artichoke tapa is outstanding and a must get in my opinion. The olive plate was decent. All of the "small plates" we tried were great. My favorite "small plate" was the braised short rib. Excellent flavor and well prepared. I also enjoyed the seared scallops. The pear chutney and crisp bacon provided a unique sweet/savory combo on this dish. The avocado salad was another great dish. The only thing that says average was the service. We didn't have reservations, but were told we'd only have to wait 20 minutes (it was a Tuesday night) . We told the hostess that we'd wait at the bar. Thirty-five minutes later we were still waiting even after giving several reminders to the hostess. We just ate at bar which was just fine by us. We'll be back! read more

It was...food. And it was edible. That's the two stars. I'm really thrown off by how well reviewed (and busy) this place is. Maybe it was good pre-COVID? Either way, the food we got was flavorless. I think we ordered a good array of dishes, small and large plates, and all of them were incredibly meh. The chicken was well cooked - but didn't even seem like it had salt. Gnocchi were texture without taste. The burger was, well, a burger. The corn salad was just corn - I'm pretty sure it was meant to have other bits in it. Some of it may have been there, but not enough to be more than a pile of corn. And the crushed potatoes were just whole fingerling potatoes - none of the advertised aoli, nor was it even crushed. I've been coming to Trevi for the last 13 years, and they never fail to impress me. The ginger pear martini was so delicious and refreshing. We ordered the grilled artichoke hearts, crispy crushed potatoes, and falafel board, and everything was amazing. Our favorite was the grilled artichoke hearts - they had such a unique flavor, so smoky and almost reminiscent of swordfish! Coming here was a treat as always and it's great to see all staff and restaurant goers abiding by COVID-19 sanitization practices. Well done again, Trevi! read more

My gf and I went for our 2nd anniversary the other night and we absolutely loved it! Staff was great, food was great, drinks were great. Would definitely go back. I got the pear and pecan salad with blue cheese. That was really good. Got the orecchietti for my entree and it was spectacular. My gf got the salmon and she loved it. All around great experience. Our friends took me and my wife to Trevi to celebrate our wedding and I'm glad they decided to take us here. Aside from providing the perfect atmosphere to mingle during a relaxing vacation, Trevi also delivers on point food. Their was a long list of small plates on the menu, so sharing was definitely encouraged and welcome. We had a bunch of fun trying out some amazing lamb lollipops, smashed crispy fingerling potatoes, and a bunch of other plates of stuff. Service was great and the food was delicious! Although it's been a while since we went (around June 2017), the experience there hanging out with my wife and our friends was really one to remember. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon with a party of 8. We wanted outside seating. They told us we could wait for tables to empty and they would push tables together for us. We waited. Tables emptied. Then they said they don't push together outside tables. Wait what?!? So we said we would sit inside. They said ok they would set an inside table for us. We waited. Nothing happened. They did nothing to set an inside table for us. So after standing around for 30 minutes we left. We walked over to Estia where they promptly moved some empty tables around for us and seated us immediately. The attitude of the waitstaff and hostess at Trevi was so odd - they were not at all interested in finding a place for us to sit even though there were multiple empty outside tables and absolutely no one sitting inside. And they couldn't have cared less when we said we were going somewhere else. Lesson learned, we will always go somewhere else. read more

We stopped in at 1PM on Saturday May 27th for a bite to eat. There were four in our party. There were a ton of tables open and a number of tables where the customers had just left but needed to be cleared. We asked to be seated for lunch only to have the hostess tell us that it would be 15-20 minutes and could they get our number to call us. I am not sure what was going on, but clearly they were having problems if they couldn't seat us with that many tables available. Found this gem while driving back to Rt 6! The service was slow- but the woman behind he bar, Kelly, seemed to be functioning solo , service several tables as well as the folks at the bar! She was relatively new , and did a FABULOUS job of keeping all the balls in the air!!!! Kelly's customer service skills were exceptional, managing to connect with each customer despite being so very busy! And she even managed to remember that my husband and I are going to Portugal!!!! I previously had given this restaurant five stars... But I've eaten there many times including this afternoon and needed to update my review as my experiences have deteriorated. My wife and I came here for lunch this afternoon and the food was good... but in no way does it resemble the sizable, top quality food they used to serve. I was frankly shocked at the staff. My waitress was very nice & attentive, but the other two employees left much to be desired. To paint a picture - the bartender dropped a glass & the waiter said - wait did that get into the ice? They didn't remove the ice and I didn't have anything to drink while I was at the restaurant. The same bartender fiddled with his beard & served drinks...yuck. Lastly, the cook had her dirty iPhone behind the line... and was listening to some type of a show/you tube video that I could hear halfway across the restaurant as she's cooking! So unprofessional! After slamming the menus on a nearby table she grabbed a rag off the bar wiped the seats (not sure what she knew about the previous occupants) and wiped the table with the same rag. "Would WE like some water?" "Are WE enjoying OUR wine?" "Are WE still working on OUR salad?" So yea there was that. oh and the food?umm...meh to blah to eww. Chop Caesar salad must've been chopped days ago ALL the edges were brown. Black olives old tasted like a tin can. Kale salad tasteless drenched in canola oil? Dessert small chocolate mousse toffee cake with whipped cream yummy but $16 bucks really? Rude staff discussing personal issues with each other as if customers were invisible. Trevi is the best and most consistently delicious restaurant on the Cape. I've tried most of their menu and have never had a poorly cooked or presented dish. Their menu is constantly changing with the seasons to provide new dishes for return customers. The chicken under a brick is very good, and ALL their steaks are the best quality beef I've ever eaten. The seasoning on them is perfect, I've never had a bland bite. I'd never had an avocado before this place and now I get an avocado salad there once a week! Crushed potatoes, mac and cheese, scallops, and meat and cheese plates are all very filling and delicious. I don't drink really, but they have a very wide selection of wines by the glass, probably around 30 or more if that interests you. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly, and the food always comes out in record timing, even on busy nights. When it's time to go, and you would normally pass on dessert because you're so full, just say yes and get the Chocolate Torte with fruit. I never get desserts at restaurants but this thing is out of this world. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high quality meal out on the Cape. read more

We had been wanting to try Trevi for quite a while. We still haven't been for the tapas, but lunch was excellent. I had mussels prepared Portuguese style with a tomato garlic sausage broth. There was rustic bread for dipping as well. My plate was spotless by the end of the meal. Others at the table had 1: sirloin bleu cheese and horseradish sandwich and 2: grilled eggplant pannini. Both were served with hearty fries seasoned with rosemary. They raved about both of the sandwiches. Our server was sweet and helpful. There was a nice wine list, and the decor was simple and attractive. I can't wait to return for some tapas, to include scallops, lamb lollipops, cheeses and asparagus. read more

Based on the reviews here and the other rating services, I had reasonably high expectations regarding Cafe Trevi. Unfortunately, the experience was not on par with the expectations. We ordered a number of small plates - crashed potatoes, kale and meatballs. The potatoes were crispy, but they were served with strange sauce, which was too hot to work with the neutral tasting potatoes (I would at least try to get some flavor on potatoes). Kale was okay, but soaked in oil, and the dish didn't have much flavor. Same story with meatballs - good texture, but no flavor in meatballs or in the red sauce. Next we had a number of Spiedini, which appear to be kabobs, or meat on the skewer. We got shrimp, chicken and beef. Each dish was served as a skewer on a bed of arugula, with 5 pieces of meat (or shrimp) on a skewer and sauce on a side ( considering the price of $15 or $16 per skewer, it is a questionable value), quite a "blah" for the presentation. Only shrimp had dipping sauce - both chicken and beef had some strange concoction served as a "sauce". The problem is that outside of the bitter taste of char on shrimp, none of the meat had any flavor. Both chicken and beef were tender, which means that dish was executed properly, however, all three - shrimp, chicken and beef were devoid of any flavor. Kabob is typically marinated - again, not in this case, and all 3 dishes were disappointing. Service was okay. Not recommended - there are better choices in the Mashpee Commons. read more

Where do I start??? The food: Decidedly mediocre. I had seared scallops--the dinner portion. Tiny meal of previously frozen, tasteless scallops, with no salad, vegetable, patios, rice...my husband had a ribeye steak special. I watched him struggle with the gristle and connecting tissue. At least he got potatoes. The service: some tables got bread. We didn't. When I asked, I learned it was my own fault. They don't offer it--you have to ask. The ambience: loud party next to us. Got very loud as they got drunker. At one point one of the women was hanging on my husband's chair and practically ended up in his lap. Prices: you decide. I definitely recommend dining here IF you don't care about any Covid 19 exposure and are seeking out an establishment that doesn't follow MA dept of health guidelines nor do they respect their customers' wishes for social distancing. They disregard reservation requests, insist patrons sit at small and tight tables, and speak DISRESPECTFULLY to customers. At the very least, Samantha and Emily.. be kind.
