We recently had water damage from aging pipes in our hillside property, with a call to our Insurance agent he quickly introduced us to TriTech Restoration Services. We had water damage that proved way more extensive than we had expected, and they handled each aspect in a decent manner. They weren't from our city, so travel arrangements were sometimes difficult to coordinate, but other than that, we have been very happy with the results. read more

Tri tech came out to my condo ASAP when we reported a leak from our upstairs unit. They ripped down our damaged wall and proceed with the restoration. Prices for the work did flucated on the high end but customer service did keep,me as a customer. To Tom and Lucy for doing an great job with keeping in touch with us every second , every minute. I was a builder/developer for many years and in addition to new construction have remodeled approximately 80 homes. Tri-Tech has worked on my parents home on two occasions. The first was approximately six years ago when a significant fire damaged their 4700 ft.² residence. Tri-Tech collaborated with me graciously when other firms might have resented my involvement/oversight and completed major reconstruction and refinishing in a professional, and timely manner. There was exacting attention to detail and when any problems arose (which are inevitable with any substantial job) they were resolved quickly and effectively. They also added a beautiful deck and patio cover onto the home. On numerous occasions they went above and beyond what they were obligated to do contractually. Early this year my parents had a flood in their home (the same home) and confidence born of experience caused them to call Tri-Tech. I have used Tri Tech twice, once for a fire and once for a flood, both times they were great. My only regret was using the flooring guy, there are movable gaps in the hard wood floors. A few weeks ago, I suffered a water loss in my upstairs bathroom. I called my insurance company and they provided our information to Tri Tech Restoration. Tri Tech contacted me within 15 minutes of me filing my claim and was on site within 2 hours that day. They explained the entire process of the water loss to me. They set up equipment in my home and continuously communicated with me on scheduling and the next phase of the work. Tri Tech also had an estimator out to provide a repair estimate for my home. Tri-Tech was recommended by our insurance company, State Farm, after we had a fire at our home. From start to finish, they were simply five stars. We had initially worked with another contractor recommended by State Farm and had suffered through four months of unreturned phone calls, bids that took 5-6 weeks, lack of communication etc. What a change once we called Tri-Tech. Eddy worked on our bid and worked hand in hand with us and State Farm to make sure our house was restored to it's previous condition. The team working on our job was fantastic - Emil, Polo, Lucy, Eddy, Gus, Steve ... we were impressed by every crew member who walked through the door and they worked tirelessly to answer every question we had and make sure we were more than satisfied with the repairs. Towards the end of the job, we had a few unexpected bumps (a faulty washing machine), different colored tiles etc. and Polo and his team went out of their way to make sure we were 100% satisfied. Polo and his crew stayed late more than once to fix things that were suddenly not working around the house (that had nothing to do with their repairs) just to make sure my family and I weren't left in the lurch. I can't believe how quickly Tri-Tech was able to send technicians Carlos and Adam to my home after the Woolsey fire. Our house had a small fire on our roof and the house wreaked of smoke. Carlos and Adam were very professional, explained the process and set up 6 HEPA airscrubbers in our house. They also vacuumed heavy soot in 2 bedrooms and the garage floor. I rarely write bad review. This is the 2nd time in my life. I had a very bad experience with this company. They were way over charged for the service they provided. They charged me over $2,000 to replace a garage door. You can get the exact same door from other companies for less than $1,500. If they offer excellent service, then it "would" be fine, if they over charge a bit, but the problem is, they don't offer excellent service. It is OK that the insurance company hires them to do the estimate. After you get the check from the insurance company, go hire someone else to do the repair. That way, you can save $$ and also get much better service else where. Here were the services and the problems: * Someone ran into my garage and damaged both the garage door and garage. The insurance company hired Tri-Tech to do the estimate. I also let Tri-Tech fix the garage door and garage (BIG MISTAKE), since they did the estimate. I was told that the garage door team would come at 10am and get it done by 12noon. I needed to tow my car out of the garage after the old garage door was removed, so that the insurance company could send someone to tow my car away (was claimed total lost by the insurance). I asked Tri-Tech, when would the old door be removed and I was confirmed that by 11am. I scheduled another tow company to tow my car from the garage out to the driveway so that the insurance could pick it up later (because the insurance people couldn't come at 11am to pick it up directly from the garage). At around 11am, the tow company kept calling me nunerous times and asked if my car was ready to be towed away from the garage. The problem was, the garage door team didn't show up until 11:30am, so the tow company very upset and didn't want to come anymore and thought that I was a very bad customer. After the garage door was done, I went home to inspect it in the late evening (I was at work while they worked on it), I found out that the top-right corner of the garage door doesn't close (come down) completely. I was so disatisfied with the work. * On Saturday, they were supposed to send another team to fix the garage. I wasn't told what time they would come, so I went out to workout at the gym in the early morning, because I didn't want to wait at home all day long (since they were late last time). I expected them to give me a call before or after they arrived. I waited, waited, and waited, but didn't get any phone call. At around noon, I called Tri-Tech and asked what time they would come. After serveral calls, someone finally could tell me that they did go to my house, but no one was there, they waited outside for 2 hours (that was what they claimed) and left. They waited outside for 2 hours and no phone calls????? I was so upset with ther service, I told Tri-Tech that I didn't want them to fix my garage anymore. (NOTE: my wife actually found out that they did call her at her office number on Saturday. But why did they call the office number on Saturday? Most people dont' work on Saturday. Why didn't they call my cell phone??) * I asked them to send me the invoice for the garage door work and they billed me for $2,180. After serveral requests asking how they came up with that amount, they finally sent it to me: around $1,500 for the door + charges for hauling debris + charges for cleaning + charges for markup 15% + charges for 10% profit + charges for 10% overhead = $2,180. Other companies would simply charge $1,500 and nothing else. Why Tri-Tech charges all those extra charges? That is why I mentioned above that save yourself trouble and money, go and hire someone else to do the work I will NEVER EVER refer anyone to this company. read more

In January 2014 we contracted Tri-Tech to complete basic construction in our kitchen. They informed us their employees were all licensed tradesmen and a project manager would coordinate all aspects of the job. All job scope to be completed by March 31, 2014. Delays started right from the start, they took over two weeks to get permits. The first crew Tri Tech sent, we later found out were subcontracts that provided subpar work, we had to stop the job. We found out they were subcontractors because they were trying to solicit future home remodeling jobs. Employee turnover made it more difficult to communicate our concerns and issues, the project coordinator and estimator had quit. We were never proactiveley notified by Tri-Tech of the change in project coordination; we had to find out after issues arose. Finally by the end of March a new contracted amount was agreed to and Tri Tech sent an alleged licensed new crew to remove and replace the poorly installed tile floor, correct issues with the drywall, and finish the wall jam, among other issues. Sad to say we still encountered poor communications and Tri-Tech had to be pushed at almost every point to complete items within the job scope. Even after we were assured they would provide new materials to replace the poorly installed floor, at the end we were shocked to learn they used a large poteion of old material. On May15 was the final inspection and we were to have full use of the kichen, however they failed to communicate to their employee once more of his full job scope and we did not get a completed kitchen. Tri Tech emailed us final invoice on 5/22/14; we informed them immediately the invoice was incorrect. They assured us they would revise the invoice. Two weeks later we received the same invoice in the mail. At this time we calculated what was owed to them. We mailed out a check 6/14/2014 with additions and deductions to the contracted amount and a statement in large font that "The check was a payment in full of a disputed amount." Tri-Tech willfully and knowingly cashed the check and it cleared our bank on 6/18/14 we received a demand letter for payment and a threat of a mechanics lien. Finally on 7/12/14 we got served with a Mechanic's Lien thus jeopardizing ownership of our home after we continuously informed them by phone and e-mail that we had paid them in full and they had billed us incorrectly. read more

A complete nightmare! Following our home flooding, we were referred to TriTech to complete the repairs by our insurance company. After meeting with Alan, we were pawned off to their team of sleazy workmen who constantly cut corners to try and complete the job with minimal effort. The one guy Harry is a complete joke, he has no clue what he is doing and should be ashamed of his work. Vic was the only hard worker of the bunch, but he doesn't do everything. Alan assured me that he would deal with any issues that arose upon our initial meeting, but when I called and emailed him repeatedly he ignored it. He never returned a single call. We are left with a wood floor that was improperly installed and thresholds that don't sit flush. They refuse to take responsibility for anything. They also ordered the wrong color flooring but we were stuck with it b/c we needed to move back into the house. These people are running a racket, it's a mess. Stay away. Of course when it was time for them to get paid, they threatened us with mechanical liens and collection agencies. Alan is a crook and his company is disgusting. They must all be related or something, because the incompetence is rampant throughout. read more

The most efficient, patient, productive and successful staff I have ever encountered in such a complicated business. The project coordinators in the office were on top of every detail, very well informed about the type of work that needed to be done and guided the actual construction workers so that they could accomplish their often complicated tasks efficiently, safely, and successfully. This was a rebuild of a bedroom badly damaged by a burst water pipe. Various delays in getting the work started (not the fault of Tri Tech) resulted in serious mold infestation, which they dealt with patiently and successfully. As I told them, I hope I never have to see any Tri Tech people again UNLESS THEY DO REGULAR CONSTRUCTION, not just restoration (because I hope I don't have to suffer such damage again in the future), and was very pleased to learn that do normal residential construction and remodeling, and if/when I'm ready for such a project they'll be the first company I call. I don't see how anyone could do a better all around job. read more

Tri-Tech was recommended through our insurance company and although Homesite was the worst to work with, Tri-Tech was absolutely amazing! We had mold remediation and Tri-Tech was hired to complete the kitchen remodel and they went above and beyond for us. After getting the runaround for two months from Homesite insurance, Tri-Tech stepped up their game to get us out of this huge mess. They completed the demo for our kitchen and then completed the drywall for our kitchen and garage. We chose to go with Ikea for our cabinets and countertops but then Tri-Tech returned to finish our floor tiles, back splash and appliance installation. There were extraordinary circumstances in our situation that Tri-Tech worked very hard to help us with. Throughout this whole process I was pregnant and they worked to get this all completed prior to the birth of my son. The work was completed yesterday and I am due to deliver any day now so I am very appreciative of all their efforts. I did not want to bring my son home to a house under construction. Every person I worked with on this team gave great service and I'd highly recommend them. I am actually looking at using them again for a future project. read more

Do not use this company at all! I gave Tri Tech one star but would give a negative rating of -1000 if possible. A 6 week project turned into a 6 month project with terrible workmanship, numerous billing mistakes, terrible project supervision, lack of proper communication - we can go on and on. We had to fire them in the middle because of the lack of progress, poor craftsmanship and utter frustration. The cabinet redo in the kitchen is such poor workmanship that we have to have it redone by a pro. We were told that they had an in-house cabinet maker, which was also not true. The painting is already peeling off the kitchen walls only 4 months later! We were billed for work not done. We wish we had read these Yelp reviews before we hired TriTech. read more

We had a pipe break and lots of water damage to our wood floor. The emergency crew that came out was really great--quick and considerate, and they did a thorough job I thought. Because they were recommended by Auto Club and I was so impressed, I decided to use them for the floor repair. I don't have the energy to go into it at length, but just trust the other reviews on here. They delayed and delayed and said it was due to matching the wood. Three weeks later they responded to my fourth call and said, we will speak to the wood rep tomorrow. When I complained to Auto Club, they said Tri-Tech had lost their preferred status with Auto Club and were no longer a recommended contractor. They wouldnt discuss details but they said there had been a lot of problems. Thanks to them, our floor was delayed several months, and we had to start from scratch with a new contractor--quite a lengthy process when you are going through insurance. It took a total of five months to get our floor fixed, but that's another story....Tri-tech is very poor with call backs and follow through. And didn't seem to care much about my disappointment. After a flood they came in & demo-ed my walls & flooring, brought in too many dehumidifiers & blowers, which over-loaded my electrical panel. They replaced the panel, and mailed the bill to my insurance co. They refused to pay it as it was their fault overloading the panel ... so they mail me the bill. I said NOOOO!, so they slapped a lien on my house! They have since due to me having to get a lawyer to have the lien removed, remove the lien. Tri-Tech was incredibly professional reconstructing our home following indoor water damage from a broken pipe. Bill Gandsey was supportive and sympathetic towards our devastating loss, and he was detail-oriented in defining exactly what needed to be done to restore that end of the home, down to each baseboard and door knob. Most importantly, he had professional experience negotiating with the insurance company to increase the $ settlement amount accordingly, so that the work could be done with quality without short-cuts and to code (because the insurance company wanted to underpay for material replacement, to where some contractors initially submitted "no bids" to us!). I found that most contractors are not adept at collaborating with insurance adjusters, but Bill Gandsey and team excelled in this capacity. Once an equitable settlement was reached with the insurance company, then Tri-Tech did a superb job efficiently replacing drywall, wood and tile flooring (also levelled out the kitchen floor drop-off to the breakfast nook, cleaning up prior contractors' work), new paint, and wainscoating. They allowed us to select the materials and colors WE wanted without sacrificing quality. Project Management was efficient with no idle downtime in between the various specialty trades. Onsite job supervisors were always courteous, attentive, listening to our concerns, and overseeing the workman well. Workmen cleaned up the site impeccably at the end of each day, leaving behind no trash, debris, or dust, so we could live in and use the house each night. The restoration job looks beautiful, and most importantly, was completed on-time within the forecasted timeframe. I highly recommend Tri-Tech Restoration. I found them through referral from a friend (who works in the insurance industry as an adjuster), and they met and surpassed ALL my expectations. read more

Our house had a broken pipe which resulted in flooding that destroyed our floors and walls. We were devastated, we have 2 kids (and a third on the way) and our house was supposed to be appraised the next week. My insurance company sent Tri Tech out to our house in Ojai the next day. Harry Deinyan was assigned to us and he was AWESOME! He was super helpful, returned all of my annoying emails and phone calls right away. I expressed to him how vital it was to have the work completed ASAP, as I'm sure everyone does. We chose to have Tri Tech do all of the work for us. They installed new floors throughout the house, replaced walls, painted and installed new baseboards. Erik was our main guy for painting, drywall and finish work. He was hands down the best contractor we've EVER worked with! We tried HARD to hire him ( even with him living 2 + hours away) because his work was so amazing but he refused saying he only works for Tri Tech! The flooring guys were great and hilarious! They even found an underground safe in the foundation and waited while I called a locksmith. Harry (another Harry) was incredibly helpful in the flooring department and Medik was great in billing. Honestly, it was HORRIBLE being out of our house for a month with two kids and having to switch hotels every couple of days due to availability in our resort town however, working with Tri Tech was was SOOO easy! We paid extra money to have them do a little extra work. We could've have saved money by using a local contractor, however; I am BEYOND satisfied with their professionalism, extreme time management, AMAZING customer service and great work! Back in January of 2011, my family and I experienced a theft in our home. We arrived home to find that our back patio window was smashed into, and our personal belongings were taken. At this time, I felt scared, cold and feared for my safety. I contacted my insurance carrier who immediately sent out Tri Tech Restoration. I can not express how wonderful my experience was with Tri Tech. They cleaned up the small pieces of glass throughout my entire home, boarded up my back window, and immediately prepared an estimate to put my home back in its original condition. Looking at the boarded up window continued to bring back memories and discomfort of a stranger intruding in my home. I expressed my feelings to Tri Tech and they immediately expedited the process. Not only where they able to complete the work as they promised, they did a terrific job and were so pleasant to work with. I will recommend Tri Tech to all my friends, family and yelp users. My restaurant in Simi Valley had a fire on Friday evening April 6th after we had closed for the day. It was a very smoky grease fire which affected the entire restaurant. I had no idea what to do, I was faced with what seemed to be closed for months until a friend of ours recommended Tri-Tech Restoration. I called them Saturday morning and they were able to take care of everything from cleaning all of the restaurant, inventory of all the damaged items which the health department told me to throw out and even updating our fire suppression system which the fire inspector requested ALL IN ONE WEEKEND. We were up and running three days after the fire!!! It was amazing. One call and they handled it all for us. read more

In early February we discovered a leak in our main plumbing line, our insurance company sent out Tri Tech Restoration to provide an estimate. It was determined that we would need a whole new cabinet built and that Tri Tech would resurface the remaining cabinets so that they all looked identical. I looked on Angie's list prior to agreeing to use their service and the reviews were fine. The project started out well with the estimation on Feb 25, and with the first crew of workers arriving on the 28th to do the patching, painting and boxing up of my kitchen cabinets. I was so pleased with the work and was told it would be about three weeks that my kitchen would not be usable, meaning, no running water, no sink, no refrigerator and no stove. I felt this was acceptable. On March 5, a crew showed up to take down the cabinets doors and drawers and stain the cabinet to match the new cabinet being built. It was now another two or three weeks before anyone showed up again. When the new cabinet was brought back, it was darker than the others in my kitchen; so now nothing matched and the drawers and doors were lighter in stain color. The cabinet installer did not see a problem with this. I had to argue with the cabinet builder, estimator and project manager Harry, who never came to my home and seldom answered his phone. This was now six weeks into the project and still my kitchen would not be usable. We decided to use a different contractor for our counter tops due to a more reasonable price then what Tri Tech quoted. We feel that because we did not have them do this portion of the work that their service level started to deteriorate. We were told by Tri Tech that they would not return until the counter tops were installed, again leaving me with an unusable kitchen. it was at the end of the 8th week when I was finally able to get my kitchen back. We paid Tri Tech up front and in full with the money that was provided from our Insurance company, they now owe us over $3000 for the work they did not provide and it still has not been reimbursed to us 13 days after we reviewed the job with the original estimator. We just called Tri Tech and the check has not been issued at this point. The estimator asked me to do an evaluation using a 1-10 scale, I gave his company a 5. I would not recommend this company to anyone that wants to see a professional job done in a timely manner. read more

I would never use this company again. They gave me the run-around and were impossible to get a hold of. Several times before the job was finished they said they would call me back or come at a certain time, and never did. Truly terrible experience.
