I tried the captains platter. It was really good. I've been looking for years for a place that has a decent fish fry in Tucson.

The food was good. The salad I got could have used a bit more effort in chopping things up instead of slapping a half of a vegetable on there, but it was still good. The service on the other hand. BOO!!! Terrible! The blond bimbo (Kaitlyn) was too busy sitting at random dudes' tables to be concerned with serving a couple. We normally tip generously, but not this time. Large menu of great food offerings! Comfortable sports bar feel with friendly and professional servers. Cassie was great this afternoon, Michael was very friendly asking about our experience with dinner. Several beers on tap, many local brews to choose from. Get the big mug if you're thirsty, the thick glass keeps the beer cold! We had the green chili burger and the steakhouse burger, with fries and coleslaw. Burgers had a lot of flavor, very good, and the fries were super crisp and nicely seasoned. The slaw was good, not overly sweet. Recommend for a casual dinner and drink spot. We look forward to trying the different menu offerings soon. read more

I met a friend for lunch at Trident Grill today. I wasn't expecting much, since I had read that it had "mostly bar food". I was pleasantly surprised by the choices. We ordered the fish tacos platter and an Asian chicken salad. Both dishes were really good. There was plenty of fish on the tacos and plenty of chicken on the salad. Our server was great, periodically checking on our food and drinks. I'll definitely be back. read more

An A-okay spot for a beer and some food. If you're interested in watching football, any of the Trident locations are cool. I have now been to all four locations at one time or another. I'm glad they have one on the west side of town now. The servers I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. Granted, vaccines are wider spread now and staff masks up, but there is no distancing going on at all. If that bothers you, don't come during happy hour time as it is pretty busy. I may be ordering the wrong things, but I've never been all that impressed by Trident's food, at any location. I shared chicken tenders and pretzels with a friend for happy hour. Meh? Everything was just okay. Chicken tenders were hot and seemed to be made in house, though they were more of a patty shape, but whatevs. Cheese sauce with pretzels was really bland. Mustard didn't seem to be made in house, like something store-bought. They have a great tap list, seemed better than some of their other locations. I had a Four Peaks Wow Wheat, very refreshing and tasty beer. read more

This is one of my favorite spots for casual dining. Before yesterday I would have give it five stars, but the fried fish both my wife and a friend had was dry and overcooked. We really should have sent it back, and the very good waitress offered to take it off the bill but I declined. This is just bad prep. My guess is the fish was either sitting around or left over. Good management needs to keep an eye on this. Fish and chips are usually outstanding here, and really a mainstay of the place. read more

Terrible service. We went with a small group of friends. The waitress forgot to put in our order, brought everyone else's food, and didn't notice that we had no food in front of us. When we asked if ours was still coming, she was very rude and remarked that it was still being made. 30+ minutes after the rest of the table received their food ours finally came out and was incorrect. No apology was given and we were still charged for the food. We will NOT be back to this location. read more

Still loving this place. Great food. Best BLT I've ever had, and their Thai chicken salad is great. I wish they'd open one in Oro Valley (Hint hint). The grill on Ina isn't far, but far enough that we don't go as often as we would if it were closer. I would guarantee that this would be our go to restaurant if in OV. read more

Great beer and great food selection! Wanted food to taste better but a bit disappointed in a few dishes. The fish and chips looked amazing coming out and so many people were ordering them. My husband and I both got burgers. He got the one with onion rings on it with sauce on the side. He chose the Mac n cheese to go with, and it wasn't anything spectacular. I got the steakhouse burger, and while I love both blue cheese and horseradish sauce, the balsamic drowned them out and ruined the burger. I did upgrade to the Gumbo, which was definitely worth it. A tad spicy the way I like it, and very good cajun flavor. Would definitely go back just for this. Great beer selection too and happy hour! read more

Needed somewhere to watch the Super Bowl, so I came in from recommendations. For there not being a lot of people, the staff sure made the experience fun. The food came out fast and service from wait staff and the bartender was superb. Can't speak enough on how great the food and portions were. What a nice surprise! We came here on Ash Wednesday because my parents wanted to go somewhere that had seafood options. Trident Grill delivered! They had many items from which to choose including burgers, salads, steak, wing, tacos, and fish and chips. I ordered the Wildcat burger, my husband ordered the paleo bowl, and my parents ordered the fish and chips. Everyone loved their meal. They have a great draft list, wine list, and in-house cocktails. I tried the blackberry lemon drop and my husband had a local beer. I can see why the place was really busy on a Wednesday - great food, good service, and affordable prices. read more

Wow! This place has great food! We weren't expecting much from a bar but boy were we pleasantly surprised. Everything we've had here is very good. They have the BEST Philly Cheesesteaks west of the Mississippi! They are so delicious! The Cuban was yummy too and hubby loved their burgers. A cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Attentive staff. There were 4 of us. My wife and I went happy hour. Many choices and they were all delicious. Wine and beer selections are extensive. Our friends had the fish and chips and they said it was delicious as well. Bathrooms clean. Many big screens for sports. And the music was comfortable, not loud. Parking is abundant. We walked in thinking that we would have dinner and drinks. After 5 minutes after seeing staff on their phones next to the kitchen, we decided that we weren't part of their agenda and went to Grumpy's. We were greeted right away and served ice cold beers. Foods ok but the service was awful, the waitress brought us our food but ignored us the rest of the evening, most of them were standing in the kitchen talking to each other, I had to get up and find someone to bring us boxes and the bill. My girlfriend and I really wanted trident!! We tried calling to place an order, just straight to a full V.M. So I decided to just head over and place my order. When I walked up, I found signs saying that masks were optional on the doors. I walked in a saw an employee not wearing a mask and serving people. Waited 20 minutes for a table. Not all that bad but, so disappointed with the loud noise. We could barely have a conversation due to how loud it was. Other people were seated after us and received meals before us. The waitress barely stopped by to give refills and then a male worker with a Trjdent shirt walked up and told us that they messed up on our nachos and were remaking them so it would be another 5 minutes. (We asked for nachos with beef. Not anything out of the ordinary). They were waiting on the burger so they could come out together. 1. The nachos came out and they were awful. I can't fathom how one can mess up nachos but, things happen. The nachos came out "fixed" and had chicken on them mixed with beef and it looked like rather then remaking the nachos they just picked the chicken off. Not to leave out that the broiler burned them and it was still brought to the table. 2. The burger we ordered was over cooked and not medium at all. 3. While we were waiting for our meal we could see a man working the food/cooking line and was chewing food while prepping food. Not really sure what he was chewing but, it was definitely something from the station. 4. Within 1 hour after the meal my stomach started hurting and has not stopped since. I won't assume but, I do have to associate this meal as the contributor because I have not eaten anything since the morning and the gut issues happened before even leaving here. Just be careful if you do eat here. I am not sure what's going on behind the cook area but I do have questions with seeing cooking staff eating while cooking. It's sad because this is the first time we have been to this restaurant and wanted to give it a good review. It's located in the NW side of town and convenient for us. I might place a call to the health department just so it gets followed up on because I don't want people getting sick. read more

Not impressed. Went during happy hour. No price break on domestics was a tilt!?. $1.00 off Craft beers only which run $6.50 plus. Nice atmosphere, plenty of TVs if you're interested. Lots of waitresses, good. Hamburgers start at $13.00. Did not eat anything. Burger and a beer would have been over $20. I wish them luck. New new new! Just opened on the 4th so everyone is checking this place out now. Love the set up with the sports on every tv so great for what ever you are into. Waiting to see what they will do for NFL fans. Ok beer selection they also do mixed drinks but I haven't tried them. These guys are known for the food at other locations so I'll bet it'll be good. Staff works very hard to keep everyone happy so I'm glad it's now in our neighborhood. I'll update with drinks and food since I will return once it settles down. read more

I have been to all of the Trident locations in town and I like them. This was just a bad experience though. I came on a Sunday evening to watch Sunday Night Football. The bar was understaffed - the lone bartender was out of her depth. I didn't get served for a full 10 minutes after arriving, so I reached over the bar top to get my own menu, and the long waits continued for the rest of my visit. Then 75% of the TVs were blank screens (since the earlier games had ended) and the remaining 25% were showing local news/weather. These latter ones were connected to the audio in the building, so everyone was just listening to the forecast for the week - a real mood-crusher for a sports bar. This went on for about 15-20 minutes. So I asked if they could at least change the one connected to audio to the pregame show. I got attitude from the bartender and snarky comments from an off-shift employee sitting at the bar (spoken to the bartender, but in response to my request, so directed at me). A couple tips to the "sports" bar: - Have sports on your TV - a novel idea, I know (and make sure the employees know how to work the remote). - Don't have your employees sitting at the bar after their shift drinking, vaping, flirting with other employees, and making smartass comments to your patrons. - Make sure you have enough bartenders staffed on NFL Sundays... at a sports bar!! Love the other Trident locations, but disappointed with this one. read more
