I just tried Trio for the second time and it was great. On my first visit, I had a cappuccino and it was perfect. The milk temperature was just right, not too hot, and the espresso was pulled just right. The second drink I had was a latte with simple syrup which also had a well balanced shot of espresso and great micro-foam. At the time they were using the Hidden City blend from Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters, and it tasted good in both my drinks. Both my orders were to go, but I could definitely see this as a nice place to hangout and sit for a while. The shop was quiet (even though there were a lot of people inside during the first visit) and the staff seemed friendly. I love this place! I was in the neighborhood for a business meeting and accidentally spotted this place. The first day, I ordered their iced brew coffee--- omg, I had to go back. The second day, I had their iced mocha which was extremely delicious too! The third day, I went again to try their hibiscus tea which was also goooood!! Saw this place while driving down 2499 a couple weeks ago stopped in this afternoon. Asked the guy at the counter what was the best thing they make and he appropriately asked...hot or cold? I say hot, he says mocha with unique chocolate from Ghanna, I say let's do it. Arfully presented, taste was not too sweet but neither was it hugely flavorful, so for $4 guess I was expecting more. What I didnt like was the coolness of the temperature, way too cold for a hot drink, actually thought about taking it back, but didnt. Decor, furnishings and ambience are nice, will have to try regular coffee products to see if they rate any higher, but for now just...so so....not yet a destination place which to survive its location, it will have to be. read more

First off - I love these people. They are actively involved in their community and really care about their customers. 2nd, I had the experience big trying my first natural process coffee here - believe it was the Konga Wote - wow - I had no idea that coffee could develop such natural fruit and floral notes. I went back to the counter and even asked if the out a hint of a strawberry flavoring or similar in it - it was just the natural flavor of the coffee. So good. I stop at Trio frequently when I visit the northwest Dallas area. I am always very pleased with the quality of the coffee and the service. I ordered a Chemex pour-over. They used a naturally processed Ethiopian bean roasted by Sweet Bloom out of Denver. The extraction was perfect and I enjoyed it immensely. They also have a wide variety of creative drinks including the Mistletoe Latte which is a Matcha latte with mint and chocolate for those who love sweet, seasonal drinks. read more

Every coffee lovers dream come true. Even if you're just ambivalent towards coffee this place is for you. The owner, Carlos, is so knowledgeable and always happy to talk coffee with anyone who comes in. Every single drink is balanced perfectly, my personal favorite is the Oat Milk Latte (iced or hot!) but they always have an incredible seasonal menu available too! They always have GF food options, dairy free drink options, and the handmade breakfast tacos and Adult Grilled Cheese are amazing too! This was such a fun morning with the family. Stopped in to get a warm drink and see what they had for breakfast. Everything was amazing. The barista was so nice and recommended some items to us. I went there tonight and like many folks looked online actually here to see when they closed. It said 9pm so I thought I would be fine. To my surprise they told me at 8:45pm that they close at 8:30pm and that I needed to leave. I then told them that all their websites said 9pm and they're response was they hadn't had the chance to update platforms. But they insisted they closed at 8:30 even though they're sign on the front of the door says 9pm. My friend and I were looking for a cafe in the area to work on our things for a few hours. We decided to try out this cafe and ordered two drinks and sat down at two different small tables. Although we came together, their tables were too small to fit both of us together to work. All of the bigger tables were already taken up by other customers and only small tables were available. But the owner/worker forcingly told us to share a table or leave, because there were other big groups of customers that they had to accommodate. First of all, he could have more respectfully asked us to understand them. Then we would not have been so offended. Secondly, not everyone from those other groups ordered but sat to chat and just left. Visiting this cafe was a terribly unpleasant experience and made me believe the worker was discriminating against us because we were the only Asians at the time. Otherwise, maybe the cafe likes to prioritize customers who come in as a bigger group (even if they don't order as much). Very rude attitude and offensive customer service. I was pleasantly surprised to see Starbucks had been replaced by a local coffee shop. I live in Austin where coffee is plentiful and delicious, so I was thrilled to find this gem in flower mound.
