Purchased a used Acura MDX from this dealership in Folsom. I also purchased a 3 year extended warranty on the vehicle that was offered through a third party provider, at the dealership. The car started showing signs of a problem after purchase. I took it to two different mechanics and was told by both, with pictures and video of the issue, that the engine had carbon build-up in it, and that the car needed a new engine, it was having internal engine failure. I contacted the warranty company and one of the few exclusions on the policy is carbon build-up, so the new engine is not covered under the warranty I purchased. As a used car dealership, asking a premium for their vehicles, they should have had the car thoroughly inspected by a reputable mechanic prior to advertising it for sale, and this could have been caught. Or they were aware of the issue, and sold the car despite that. Either way they do not thoroughly evaluate their vehicles prior to listing for sale. I would suggest, if you want to buy a car from here, to take it to your own mechanic and have them check the entire car from top to bottom. read more

Worst car buying experience I've ever had. They are crooks and sell junk cars. Don't waste your time buying here or waste your money. Bought a car here a year ago and had nothing but problems with the car and I'm still paying for it even though I got rid of the car I was so upside down with it. They also don't maintenance the vehicles before they are sold. My transmission fluid was burned and stared shifting bad 2 weeks later and I took it back and they said we don't work on transmissions here or service them. Wow really!!! They are a business looking for a quick buck selling junk cars. Go to Hertz auto sales, I had a amazing experience with them and they don't sell junk. Update; Turns out, they never actually replaced the air compressor, though paperwork states they did. Furthermore, because of the damage to the compressor, a bearing came loose, seized up, and caused the serpentine belt to snap. This, in turn, caused the vehicle to overheat and to lose power steering and function. My vehicle is currently sitting, immobile, because they didn't to fix the base issue and cut corners. Submitted a complain to the Better Business Bureau. Maybe that will sort it out. read more

They do not come out to greet you, and when I went in to speak to someone he just handed me his card and went back to sitting in his comfy office and chatting with his coworkers. I showed up looking to purchase a car with cash in hand, although the salesman seemed polite I thought it was odd he came to work wearing a wrinkled dirty shirt, he did seem more interested in the football game on TV than selling me a car, I made an offer of 7300 on a car listed at 7999 but was turned down, I made another offer of 7000 on a car listed at 6995 and was turned down, he tried telling us the car was listed well below blue book my wife had kbb up on her phone and called him out and caught him in a direct lie... he explained the out the door cost on a car listed at 6995 will be closer to 8000 even though the registration was good until August of 2020.. The salesman had zero interest in making a sale, all he was interested in was getting back to his football game in the office.. read more

I bought an '02 Acura and it had a couple of problems at the time of sale and they said they would take care of fixing them and they did. After driving the car a few days I noticed a couple of other things wrong. I called Chris and he took care of everything; no push back or anything. In fact, he even fixed one thing that he had found.They had to keep the car overnight, so they gave me a loaner for a day. Chris and the customer service team is top notch. The only reason I didn't give Triple Crown 5 stars is because I feel their cars are not cream of the crop, but they do make good efforts to fix what it needs, even after the sale. Went there to look at a car that we saw online. When we showed up, it wasn't even a clean title or even at the lot to see. Bait and switch? Then we found another car that we were interested in buying and when we discussed the price, we were simply told "we don't negotiate". (This came AFTER they sent us off to test drive a car with no gas in it - dummies). Seriously. EVERY used car lot negotiates price. If you want to keep up with you competition, you might want to change your policies. We won't be going back and don't recommend this place. read more

I wrote basically the same review for their sister store, but it bears repeating cause the whole company is a sham. I drove 3 hours from Monterey to check out a truck I thought was a good buy. They had advertised mileage on the truck as 64,014 miles, but when I arrived it was 77,000 miles. I called twice before I made the trip to confirm the mileage. A few hundred miles difference is forgivable, but 13,000 miles? Immediately I wondered what else they weren't telling me. Our sales persons exemplified every stereotype out there for used car salesmen. He was rude, pushy, not very forthcoming with details, and generally not very good at selling cars. Don't even bother trying to negotiate with them on the price, they simply won't budge. I have never run into that anywhere I have ever bought a car. I also found it interesting there was a garage across the street offering $20 inspections vehicles. There has to be some kind of deal going on there between the two. I'll say this; it wasn't the price of the vehicle that made me decide not to buy it. It was the shady business practices and pushy sales people that made me take my business elsewhere. We were looking to replace our family car with a vehicle that would fit a family of 6 comfortably with all the camping gear as well. I am a nervous used car purchaser and worry that I am purchasing someone else's headache. After a far amount of research we decided on a Suburban 4x4. Triple Crown had what we wanted but the price seemed too good to be true and I had read a few not so positive reviews about the company. I talked with the salespeople about the reviews I had and they said you can't make everyone happy in the used car market. True enough to me. We looked a few other used cars but ended up back at Triple Crown. They allowed us to take the vehicle on our own for a test drive without a salesperson. Later, I came back and took the vehicle to Folsom Auto Tech for an inspection. It came back clean with the mechanics saying that for the condition of the car and the price it was a steal. SO we purchased a Suburban from the guys at Triple Crown. There was no haggling or passing off games - the General Manager handled my paperwork. They found me better financing than my Golden 1 pre-approval rate. Triple Crown are a no nonsense wholesale used car dealer without a lot of frills or games. I like that. As for the vehicle - 2 years in and so far so good! read more

I really had my hopes up with this place, and then all came crashing down. I found a car that fit my needs, close to the price I feel it should be worth. It was an older car, but had low miles on it. It was priced $500 over Kelly Blue Book according to their "Excellent" condition. I was already pre-approved for loan through my Credit Union, however Triple Crown was able to find me a better rate. So all was going well, Then.... I wanted to take the care to a Mechanic to have it looked at, since it was an older car. I took it across the Street to Kneisels, which I was told has a very good relationship with Triple Crown. As soon as they opened the hood, the guy could not believe that the car was on their lot in this shape. It was 2 quarts low on oil, the Transmission fluid looked like it had never been changed, the air filter was disgusting, the battery was bad, hoses had never been replaces (this is a 17 year old car)! Basically the car needed a full tune-up that would cost me around $1500. Nothing had ever been replaced. So I went back over Triple Crown to express my concerns about the car. They basically told me they would do nothing. No coming down on price, no fixing the issues (They have their own shop, it wouldn't have cost them much). They basically told me to kick rocks. My husband later called them back to express his concerns. The sales person he spoke with reassured him that they DO NOT do any maintenance on their vehicles. They basically get them from Auction, make them look nice, and put them on their lot. They don't care what kind of shape the car is in, they just hope people are dumb enough not to research the cars on their lot. It would have taken them maybe 5 minutes to check the fluids. They simply don't want to put any time, money or effort into their cars. So just be aware, their prices look low, but when you take into consideration that they do not come down on their prices no matter what is wrong with the car, you are taking a real gamble. Not to mention, every time I called or went in there I delt with or talked to someone different. Most of the guys were very nice, but they are car salesmen, they get paid to be nice. They are not looking out for your best interest anymore than the next place. So in short, this is the kind of place that just wants a quick, no hassle sale, doesn't even check the oil on their cars before they stick a price well over blue book on the window and hope it sells. When I'm buying a used car, I expect more. Proceed with Caution! read more

I don't know what all of the bad reviews are about on here. I felt like they had the best customer service out of any of the used dealerships I looked at. I looked at both of their locations, Roseville and Folsom, and found them to be extremely helpful. Tony ended up finding me the car of my dreams, a Toyota rav 4! You know that other dealership that has all the radio commercials that says they can get your payments really cheap and can approve anyone, ya them they could do nothing for me with bad credit, they said I needed 2500 down on a 10,000 dollar vehichle and payments at 450 a month. So I went to triple crown and with no questions asked o got a 16,000 dollar truck with 1,000 down and payments of 340 a month with a really well known bank. I was in and out with my new truck within 2 hours and the customer service was incredibal, I couldn't have asked for anything better than what I got. I traded in my car here and bought another car. The whole exp. was not too bad. Only thing that sticks out in my mind is that the car we were interested in was not the on the lot the 2nd time we visited and a sales guy there told us it was "being detailed." Meanwhile we went to my mechanic to ask him his opinion on the model of the car we were interested in and guess what--the car was there at his repair shop(!) The mechanic told us the truth--that the car had some minor mechanical issue--I think with the power seats or something?--anyway, that felt a little yucky that we had been misled--but, just typical, shady car salesman crap--that's about what you can expect here and at most used car places! Anyway, other than that--not a horrible exp. and we did end up getting the car. read more

I swear, some of the reviews on here are awful. Our experience has been absolutely wonderful. Chris in Maintenance and Dustin on the floor are more than amazing. These guys are salaried, so they don't get commission, and therefore the buying experience is way way better!!! We bought a vehicle from them in Feb, and it had a couple issues with the transmission. They have not only fixed it for us, but they did a great job on it. They maintained great communication with us, and went above and beyond!!! Purchased several cars from Triple Crown over the last 5 years. I have been very happy with them. Currently, I'm over halfway thru my 5 teenagers getting their drivers license. Their business model is to find high-mileage clean vehicles to sell. It saves me thousands of dollars off the price and I get all the trim package and bells and whistles that I want. I then expect that higher mileage vehicles will need to be watched for maintenance and replacing things. I can always buy an extended warranty if I feel the need. The first car was for my then 16 yr old daughter. I found a very cute 2001 red VW Beetle with custom daisy wheels and a few small daisies painted on the front and back hoods. It was perfect at a great price. It had 110k miles and I think around $6k asking price. It needed a few cosmetic touches done that they agreed to take care of up front. While finding the vw, I also saw a very clean 110k mileage Ford Expedition, Eddie Bauer trim. I loved it, so I purchased it for myself at the same time. I purchased extended warranties on both cars, surprised that i could get a warranty at such high mileage. It was worth it. 2 years ago, after searching everywhere, I found a great 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix 95k mileage for my then 16 year old son. It has needed some maintenance since but the kind I would expect. I didn't purchase an extended warranty this time. Very pleased with these purchases. About a year ago, I tried to find another car car for my daughter but could find one she liked in their inventory. Ended up across street at another dealer (next to Boardwalk). Found a car. Clean, higher mileage. Very pleased. read more

Recently visited this dealership with a few cars from their inventory in mind, as I had been researching. Was on the lot for quite awhile before I was ever acknowledged and when I was it wasn't much. I had to help myself at looking at the cars I had in mind and then go track down an employee to ask questions and set up a test drive. Got back from the test drive and once again had to track down an employee to get more information. Was ready to talk business and make my purchase and was told" they don't offer any deals and have been doing it that way for 20 years." Something I have never heard from a car dealership. The car mentioned was over blue book. I mentioned this and they did not care at all. They truly acted throughout the entire time as if they couldn't care less about selling cars or not. How they stay in business I have absolutely no idea!!! I will most definitely tell every one who will listen about my terrible experience at Triple Crown Motors!!!! read more

I agree very much with Richard R. Shady indeed. I call them Triple Frown Auto Sales. They sold my child her first car. It was a clean car inside and out. It was a mechanical mess! Within a week problems arose... Transmission failed and had to fight with them to fix it. Oil leaks, engine vibration, bad strut, belt soaked in oil from the leak. Put simply it was a lemon! I asked if an inspection had been done and got the salesman run around from Tony. Bottom line is he could not provide me with a copy of any inspection. What about a safety inspection? Purchased vehicle on 6/12/2018. I am the primary buyer and my mother, is a co-buyer. Seller's 10 day right to cancel period passed without any word from Seller about cancellation. They even had the car on their lot to make an agreed upon repair on 06/25/2018 (day 13) and we had no problems on that day. On 06/26/2018 at 10:30am (day 14) mom received a voicemail from the dealership asking her to come in to re-write the agreement and pay additional money. We did not wish to do so, understood that we had no obligation to do so, and I called back and informed the dealership of our decision. Later that day at 9:21pm I received an email requesting that we sign a "Notice to Co-signer". Being as neither myself or my mom are co-signers/guarantors per the agreement, and neither of us wish to be co-signers/guarantors, we were unwilling to sign this document. The dealership cannot require us to sign additional paperwork after day 10, and retroactively make the document a condition of the loan, especially when that document fundamentally changes the terms of the agreement by converting one of us from a buyer to a guarantor. On 07/06/2018 at 8:45am the vehicle was stolen back from us by the dealership despite the fact that we have a written agreement, and that agreement was not canceled within the 10 days. To date we have received no notice of cancellation, notice of repossession, or down payment refund . We have since attempted to resolve with the dealership to no avail. read more

I bought a car from here about a year ago to date, and I just took it to carmax to get something bigger to fit my family and it turns out it had been in a major collision with the whole front end and side being reprinted and took it to my mechanic to make sure car max wasn't trying to screw me and he found that the whole front end had been rebuilt out of a junk yard...... I called today and told them I was I disgusted and they told me they have a lot of accident cars that people don't know about. And they said that it's my fault for being stupid and purchasing a car before having it inspected. The car has frame damage and the suspension is so bad from the junk parts that my mechanic said not to drive because he says it's unsafe and he wouldn't even drive it around the block for me..... I just bought a car from them a little while ago, from their roseville location, and at first I thought they were an alright dealership. The car thus far has not been an issue, my main gripe is this company does not put out any effort in trying to communicate. I had to call them several times to verify the status of my car loan, and they gave me false information. Later, I had to fax them additional info so they could forward it to the bank, and this was only after I had taken the initiative. After a couple more experiences like this, and lack of communication between their employees, things get settled 2 weeks later. Decent cars, horrible customer service. read more

Well I'm still on the hunt for a new used car. I saw tons of ads for triple crown for they have several locarions in various areas. The car I went to see wasn't as nice as it was said as a matter of fact the tires would scrape on the body because it was too big for the car. The staff seemed a little uninterested in being helpful but they were not rude. I guess everything was very average nothing memorable about the cars or service. Triple Crown Auto Sales is a good, no GREAT used car lot. My Father bought a 2005 Chevy Silverado truck from Triple Crown (five years ago) and it has been recently been handed down to me. The truck still runs good as new and have had no problems with it. The customer service at Triple Crown is amazing, they treat you like royalty as you are trying to find the car of your dreams and at Triple Crown you will more than likely find it. Triple Crown is very active within the community as well, for all three years that I have been at my high school, triple Crown has been a sponsor for my high school football team special events, I am sure they will sponsor 2014-2015 also. I can't believe this business has a low rating. Most of these reviews are ridiculous. Remember when you shop here you are buying a USED car. No that doesn't mean you're buying junk but things do happen. Triple crown is very reasonable with taking care of those things to an extent. They can't fix every issue and make it perfect, that's why they offer great prices. These guys go to auctions, buy used cars that they DO NOT get to drive. They can look, sit in them and usually start them. They buy tons of cars every week. They try to pick the best condition cars they can find for the vehicle year range they usually shop in. When they get to the dealership, obvious dents and scratches are fixed by an outsourced company, obvious mechanical issues are fixed by company shop OR an outsourced shop, then they are sent to a detail company, then straight from the detail to the lot. Sometimes the detail companies get the coils wet and you'll find a misfire. Call the ORANGEVALE location immediately if that happens and explain. Its really not a big deal and they'll take care of you and be very honest with you if they find any other issues. I don't work there or have any ties to this company but I do know some staff personally and have done business with them. That being said, they're sales men are NOT paid on commission. Sure they want to sell cars and some cars have incentive to them but for the most part if you're rude or act like you don't want them bugging you, they'll leave you alone. Don't take it as rude, the ones I know are very nice guys. The ones I know also don't know much about cars, they know how to sell. It is YOUR job to study up on what cars are pieces of crap and what cars are reliable at high mileage. Its your job to know what you're getting into. If you're worried about a car you like, simply ask them to have their shop guys check it out, compression test it, change the oil and fluids, you may have to pay but maybe they'll work something into the deal. Don't go there, buy a high mileage vw or BMW that blows up in two months because you don't maintain it then complain to them. Know kinda what you want and what to look for with it, know what it's worth, and don't expect perfect car. These guys will hook you up with a good deal. They sell thousands of cars and are still in business, that says something. read more

Horrible experience! I thought I could trust this place being that I did some research and the previous reviews were awesome. I found a great vehicle at the Roseville lot and my family and I took it for a test drive. We smelt smoke on the test drive coming from the heater. After, we got back to the dealership the engine was burning smoke but, the salesmen said that it could be fixed at their other lot if the vehicle had a problem. The smoke was claimed to be burning from topped off engine oil or coolant. The next day Nov.30, 2010 we decided to buy the car trusting they would fix it if the vehicle had a problem. A week went by the vehicle still had occuring problems so, as we put the last deposit down on the car the salesmen claimed we would be taken care if we took it to the shop at the Folsom dealership. He gave us a card and the number to the other shop to make an appointment. The car was leaking fluid and was already alarming that the coolant was empty after two weeks. It was clearly a problem the car had for a while and they sold it to us broken. I took it to the Folsom triple Crown shop and they refused to pay for anything and they claimed it happened we'll we had it. The worst part of this is that it was Christmas time and the best excuse for there scam was they had, "NO money".... If I only new it was going to be a problem I would have never bought from this dealership so please beware!!!!!!!!!!! read more
