Great quick breakfast on a Saturday morning. Had a staycation with my daughter at the Kimpton hotel and this was just a block away. We were greeted right away and seated. Our orders were also immediately taken. The menu is extensive with a kids menu. The portions were also huge for the price. The decor has a country kitchen vibe, very homey. I got the veggie omelet and my daughter got the funny face pancake which she enjoyed. They also serve lunch and dinner. Only pitfall is there's no designated parking.

    California eggs Benedict. AHMAZING!

FINALLY! A diner on Main Street downtown SLC! How did this take so long?! Who cares, we are finally here and this place kills it! Just as a note, they are trying to figure out exact hours of operation. Open for breakfast, brunch and lunch, everyday. Still working out evening hours. Let's help them make this possible! Service: Spot on. Very Quick and our waitress was very friendly, quick and attentive. Couldn't have been better. We weren't waiting on anything. Food came out in the perfect amount of time. Food: umm, YUM! Came out perfectly. Eggs were cooked to perfection as poached eggs. An amazing amount of hollandaise sauce and the English muffin was tasted perfectly. The bacon wasn't over powering any other the other flavors. Ambiance: perfect main street diner vibes that we have ALL been waiting for. Mimosas: Peach mimosa, don't skip out on. So tasty! Overall, this place is awesome for downtown. Come give it a shot and support local first! You will not be disappointed!

However, additional details create a loving connection - it's off-Broadway central location, the copper-paneled ceiling that mimics warm conversations in varied spaces (cocktail, chef's counter, expandable tables for groups, and outdoor), fresh, locally-sourced ingredients with service to match. It's the place where I had my first glass of Turley Zinfandel (education alongside), and the place I will always return for my favorite Wagyu Beef Stroganoff (a comfort from home, but upscale). This one delivered with large, firm, expertly seasoned portobello & forest mushrooms over wide, freshly handmade pappardelle pasta that soaks up rich beef stock (a touch of black pepper) blended with crème fraîche. A generous portion of wagyu is tender and rich. PRO TIP: Mix then let it sit & marinade a minute - flavor pays in dividends. For dessert, a Valhrona Chocolate Pudding topped with whip cream and Maldon flake salt - exquisite, but expensive. The texture is comforting and delicious - olive oil adds a lingering finish with slight fruit.

Host name is Carleigh…read more We had a reservation for 8:00 PM and arrived around 7:50 PM. When we checked in, the host, Carleigh, immediately told us it would be a 20-30 minute wait. I informed her that we had a reservation under my name, John, but she simply looked at her list, seemed annoyed, and told us to wait anyway. While we were waiting, we watched several parties of two arrive after us with reservations at 8:10, 8:15, and even 8:20, and they were seated before us. After waiting about 20 minutes, I went back to ask how much longer it would be. I was told it would be another 20 minutes. I reminded Carleigh that we had a reservation, and her response was, "Oh, you did?" She then asked for my full name and phone number, looked up the reservation, apologized, and immediately escorted us to a table that appeared to have been ready the entire time. This was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Reservations are made so guests don't have to wait behind people who arrive later. It felt like our reservation had been completely ignored until I spoke up a second time. Whether this was poor organization or a lack of attention, the level of service at the front desk was unacceptable. We came looking forward to a nice family dinner, but the experience started with unnecessary frustration and left a very poor first impression. I sincerely hope additional training is provided so this doesn't happen to other guests.

First off, the roasted beets might honestly be the best thing on the menu (which sounds ridiculous until you try them). They come with greens tossed in a dressing that is absolutely mouth-watering, I could eat a whole bowl of just the greens. Next was the mushroom toast, layered with the creamiest goat cheese spread that perfectly balances the earthy mushrooms. But the real showstopper was the pork belly. I've never had pork belly like this before. They serve it in these perfect little cubes and when you bite into one it literally bursts with flavor. It's paired with green apples, which might sound unexpected, but it's an incredible combination. If you've never had pork with green apples before, you're missing out, it's the perfect sweet, crisp contrast. We finished the night with beignets and an affogato. My affogato had butter pecan ice cream with a rich espresso poured over the top - simple and absolutely delicious. We were tended to by our server through out the night. 5 star service, 5 star food, and the restaurant was beautiful inside and out. Can't wait to sit out on the patio in the summer! Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. Trust me, you won't regret it.

The Wagyu steak was good as well. A bit salty (I love salt, so it was fine for me). Because of that they gave us a free dessert which was not necessary, but really kind. So grateful they did because the pound cake with peaches and whip cream was excellent. I've never had a better pound cake. The portions are really big too. Worth the price. Would absolutely return. The only down side was that it was incredibly hot in the restaurant. It was uncomfortable. Maybe sit outside? It needs A/C desperately. Other than that, we will be back.

Parking is all street parking, and during peak dinner hours it can definitely be hit or miss. We ended up parking a bit farther away and walking over. Service was a little messy during our visit, but I could also tell the staff was trying their best. It seemed like there was only one person taking orders and handling the front, and she looked pretty flustered on a busy night. I also suspect the kitchen may have been understaffed. For appetizers, we ordered the ravioli and the baguette au gratin. Both were delicious. The ravioli was definitely my favorite of the night. It was super rich and heavy, so sharing it was the right move. The baguette itself tasted good, but the cheese on top was cold and had already solidified. It felt like it had been premade and quickly assembled before serving. For our mains, we ordered the duck breast and the beef bourguignon. This is where I really started feeling like the kitchen was struggling a bit. Both dishes came out surprisingly fast, but unfortunately the duck, mashed potatoes, and even the gravy were cold. Not just cooled down, but genuinely cold like they had been sitting out for a while and not kept under a warming lamp. The beef bourguignon was the warmest dish we received, though even that was only lukewarm. The frustrating part is that the flavors were actually really good. The food itself was delicious, but the temperature of almost every dish really took away from the experience.
