Probably the worst Tropical Smoothie I've ever had. Young staff with no management supervision from what I could tell. They were busy at around 1pm, but not incredibly busy. Behind the counter and the kitchen area was absolutely trashed, and dirty. Trash just strewn about the floor behind the counter literally right next to the can. Really? Explains the posted sanitation grade of 95 a few months prior you'd expect them to tighten up standards after that... Against my better judgement I ordered, and gambled by eating my food but man was it disappointing. Won't be returning to this location or Tropical smoothie for awhile. Yum! I've never been to a tropical smoothie cafe before but they were running a promotion for the Sunshine smoothie and it was delicious! You can taste the mango and pineapple so strongly, which I loved, and it all tasted so fresh! Very refreshing for a hot summer day. There was a bit of a wait for the smoothies though, so I wouldn't come here thinking you can order a smoothie on a quick break. But, the wait ended up being worth it. Often I will call ahead so that my order is ready when I arrive. At my last visit, my smoothie cup was dirty on the sides (with smoothie) but I do not think this has happened before. I came here because the coffee place was packed. Service was fine except the credit card device used makes it very difficult not to tip. I pushed the submit button and ended up adding the default 15%. Imagine if the default were higher? The result would've been a very awkward conversation about how I did not mean to tip that much. I want to start off by saying, I've been coming to this location since they've opened. Food has always been up to my standards and the smoothies are amazing. Today, I'm rating a one star. I waited for my food to come out I was with my 3 year old son and since this whole COVID-19 virus i understand the safety precautions everyone is taking I noticed my son playing with his car on the table I later asked him several times to wait until we got in the car to play with his toy. Evan, later came out from behind and very rudely said "can you get him off the counter ". I did as he asked and didn't respond. After our order was made i then asked for his name, he responded with "Evan, if you seriously have the nerve to ask my name take in consideration that you came in here with a toy from home and are on the tables"... Regardless, the attitude and the response was very unprofessional. And Evan you hate your job that much you're getting upset about customers walking in to order then QUIT. Stopped in here for a quick bite to eat as I was in a rush (boo busy work day) and was pleasantly surprised that they offered more than just smoothies. Also surprised that they weren't too busy and quick with my order; yay! There were a lot of advertisements for their Thai chicken wrap so I decided to just go with that... really great choice! I ordered the spicy version which wasn't that spicy, but still liked the thai flavors and fresh ingredients. The menu is also pretty simple and straightforward...perhaps too much so though as no ingredients are listed for any of the food items. The smoothies here are excellent, healthy and nutritious. I was worried they would be chalk full of sugar and frozen syrup saturated fruits but I was way off....at least on the smoothies I've had. The Detox Island Green is the clear cut winner for me with Kale, spinach, fresh ginger pineapple, mango and banana. The service has been very friendly eveey visit and they keep the back prep area clean which is great since it's visible to everyone who walks in. The smoothies also come out extremely quickly. Overall a great spot to try some excellent smoothies and at $5.09 you can't beat the quality or size. If you have not had the Tropical Smoothie, then know that your kids are going to love them. Most of their smoothies are frozen fruit and juice based (as opposed to dairy). This means their smoothies tend to be watery popsicle-like smoothies that are 400-600 calorie each that are 100% carbohydrates (nearly 100 grams of sugar) . For reference, that is roughly equal to sugar that you would get in 4 serving bowls of Cocoa Puffs. You can get add-ins like protein powder, but they are not substitutes; they just make your smoothie bigger and add more calories. I was inclined to not visit this place because it's a chain and I assumed it would be like Jamba Juice with a bunch of smoothies packed full of sugar and few "healthy" options. I was very wrong. There's a "Detox" smoothie on the menu, but the manager (she's the black chick with braids) told me I could just order anything without sugar. That was good advice because this place has lot of options. I've tried basically everything on the menu now, since I go there often. I met the owner last time I was there, she was extremely nice. This is a great business that just might be in a bad location (between bass pro shop and some other daytime-only businesses). I really, really hope it succeeds because for those of us that don't love pizza and thai food everyday, it's good to have an alternative. The food menu is also great. My first experience was terrible. Started with a online order. The order was placed with the incorrect location unknowingly. Called store and was told to come in and bring the card that was used with the order. Showed up after work and was treated rudely by the manager. He was very unhelpful. I took a break from this company for a couple years and I was quickly reminded this weekend how good the smoothies and food is. I tried the Sunrise Smoothie something out of the norm for me but I was branching out and WOW was it full of flavor that I really enjoyed. Made a cold, fall/winter day feel like I was back sitting pool side with the summer sun. I also tried the Santa Fe Quesadilla and I was surprised how good and full of flavor it was.
