The smoothies are great, but the service isn't. Their app also doesn't work great. We tried to order in advance, but the app gave an error, so we drove there, and found they had closed 7 minutes early. The smoothies always take a long time, and it smells bad, so I never order food and stay. Update: I tried again, and the app worked, but when I got there, they'd forgotten half my order and I had to wait 10 more minutes for the rest of my food. read more

I really love this place. I've tried a few of the flat breads and they pretty good, but the smoothies are addicting. I think the customer service at this location is amazing; they are always friendly and they try to get orders out as fast as possible. Sure there can be a bit of a wait if they are busy, but any reasonable person wouldn't be surprised by that. This store also has drive-through service. read more

This location has a drive through which is very convenient. The staff actually brings your order out to your vehicle after you order - always very pleasant considering they may have to come out in any weather conditions. I highly recommend this location if you like Tropical Smoothie. read more

Being a vegetarian, I LOVE this place and have never had issues in the past. Within the past few months, every time I have come here for lunch it has taken over 30 minutes to get my food at the drive through, and they apparently no longer serve the vegetarian chicken. Soooo disappointed as that's one of the main reasons I even come here. Other than that the food and smoothies kick ass. Just wish they could be more consistent with customer service and their menu items. read more

I'm appalled at the management here. As a manager myself, I can't believe they've neglected to fix their drive through/customer service issues after all of these complaints from people having the same frustrations as myself. I went there for lunch on my break. I figured 30 minutes was plenty. Nope. After placing my order, I sat in line for 35 minutes. Went in to cancel my order. The girl handed me my sandwich and a banana that had been sitting on the counter for who knows how long. However, they hadn't even gotten my smoothie started. I told her to cancel it since I didn't have time. I open my bag and my sandwich was cold and messy and my banana is black and split open. It was disgusting. Now, the real issue I have is management. I went in to complain later, the young girl took my name and number down and told me a manager would call on Monday. Monday came and went, no call. I call Thursday or Friday and a manager answers. She tells me she's new and apologizes that no one called. She says she'll look into processing a refund and call me back Monday. Monday has, once again, came and went and no call. I call them and no one answers. What the hell is going on over there?! A regional manager needs to step in. This place needs help. The kitchen has lettuce and shit all over the ground and people are complaining left and right. Help your employees and customers out! Do your job! read more

First and last visit. Waited 10 min in drive through line to get to the window. Placed our order (a sandwich, a bowl, and a smoothie for over $20), then waited another 25 minutes!!! Ridiculous! My daughter said the smoothie and sandwich were good - nothing great. No napkins or utensils were given to eat the Baja bowl (which had 3 small pieces of chicken and a whole lotta lettuce). This was at 3pm on a Saturday- I can only imagine how terrible the wait must be at lunchtime. Never again! read more

Wasted at least 45 minutes waiting for the wrong food and over paid for what we originally ordered (no special order involved--staff didn't know products, didn't know about the cost to refill on cooler cup or that when you add a sandwich the price is reduced.) I love this place so much!! The only problem is their service takes FOREVER and so I ordered 3 sunrise sunset smoothies and like 15 minuets later they come out with 4 different type of smoothies. Like, what??? But then I put my stuff on the counter and they don't bother to ask me anything so I tell a guy 15 minutes later and tell him I ordered 3 sunrise sunsets and finally 20 minuets later he comes out with the right order!! My chicken salad sandwich was more like a spinach/lettuce sandwich with a bite of chicken on each half. Definately not what the picture depicted. My chocolate banana peanutbutter smoothie tasted like banana water. Definately not impressed and will not return or recommend. read more

Finally some place healthy that tastes great. LOVE the Jetty Punch. They are also willing to adjust flavors to your taste which some smoothie places are unwilling to do. Drive through is a definite bonus. read more

I went into the Tropical Smoothie Cafe on 28th street in Grand Rapids, this morning and was looking forward to trying it, because I had never been. I stood in line for about ten minutes. There was only one customer in front of me the entire time and it seemed like there was confusion regarding her credit card. There were about 5-6 employees in the back and I'm very surprised that I wasn't even acknowledged at all during that time that I was waiting to order. Before visiting for the first time I thought it would be a smoothie restaurant that happened to just serve food. I was wrong.
