Finding a good tropical smoothie is a hit or miss. Moved up here last year and every time I come to this location it's always great. The staff is always so nice and the smoothies are so good and never watery. I hate watery smoothies. The food is yummy too. Always fresh :) thank you guys. read more

I wanted to give this location another chance before writing a review, but unfortunately the follow-up experience was worse than the original issue. On my first visit, I ordered four smoothies (over $40 total). They were out of my usual whey protein, but I still ordered. When I got home, all four of us who tried them agreed they tasted off, and we ended up throwing them away. I called the store and spoke with a manager (I believe her name was Alyssa), who was very kind and told me I could come back whenever it was convenient for a replacement. She took my name and number, and I appreciated how she handled it. When I returned (within a month), the employee I spoke with immediately refused to help--without even asking for my name or checking the information I was told had been recorded. He told me it had been "too long" and that I couldn't just come back whenever I wanted. When I explained it had been under 30 days, he continued to refuse. When I asked how he knew without checking anything, he laughed. I asked for a manager and was told there wasn't one. I asked for his name and the district manager's name but he refused to provide it. He then told me to go through the drive-thru and sit out front while he looked for an email, and during the interaction he and another employee were smirking and dismissive. Shocking but the email address he gave me didn't work. He told me his name was Tyson, not sure if that was true or not. This wasn't about trying to get something for free--it was about honoring what a manager told me and basic customer service. The contrast between how the manager handled it originally and how I was treated on my return was pretty disappointing. this place is terrible. had literally a huge piece of plastic inside my smoothie. Literally had to throw it up because I knew I swallowed some and when I came to return within 10 mins - the lead/interim manager was smiling the whole time I was explaining to her what happened. She said "Oh that came off our peanut butter thing". Can tell she has no relevant customer service experience to be serving as a lead. Literally SMILING the whole time. Nothing serious about her. This location is never really busy, which is great cause I can make an online order in the parking lot and within two minutes my drink is done. The app itself is very easy to navigate and to place an order. Customer service is great but once you place an order online normally you don't need to speak with anybody just go to the little cubbies that they have and pick up your drinks and your name will be on the receipt. The smoothies are great and prices are pretty good for the size you get. I have not tried any of their food items, but I will eventually. Inside is clean. read more

I had a bahama mama, (strawberry, pineapple, coconut, white chocolate) hubby had an acai berry boost (acai, pomegranate, bananas, blueberries & strawberries) minus the pomegranate & left happy. Hubby liked his, I liked mine, (mine was better) and that's all that really matters. We went through the drive thru and the woman who helped us was nice and accommodating so that's a plus too. Only thing we would ask for next time is some milk in the smoothies because it tasted more watery than creamy. Other than that, would highly recommend you check them out & get the bahama mama when you do! read more

DRIVE-THRU: The smoothie was AMAZING!! Very flavorful and fresh. Customer service was good. The salad was delicious, but for the price, I expected more than just a tiny piece of chicken and a tiny piece of bacon. People complain about tipping in the drive-thru, but I believe they deserve to be tipped as well. read more

Well getting the bang for you buck hits the spot here. Their smoothies are a refreshing delight. My daughter ordered a Bahama Mama that had pineapple and coconut. I order something with banana, mango and passion fruit. Both drinks were refreshing, tasty and overall good stuff!! This is a great alternative to coffee or soda. It might be a little pricey but it's a huge drink. We were asked a size so not sure if their are smaller sizes. read more

I ordered 3 smoothies and 3 sandwiches like I always do and I let them know I want the happy hour smoothie. I was told I'm NOT allowed to get the happy hour price since I ordered food. Once a week I order this way. Now it's changed. I asked when did it change she said I don't know. Great let me speak to your manager. Same thing I cant help you do you still want your food. I asked the disrespectful manager for a corporate or managers phone number she said I cant give it to you. Then its time for my food to come I asked for my chips she said you didn't order a side I cant give them to you unless you order them. What??? The staff, who appear to be underage teenagers, still continue to sneak/trick you into tipping them through the drive through. This has been an ongoing problem at this location for several years now and it is clear management has done nothing to correct it. Just the other day I was not allowed to use the card machine but the young man at the window asked "do you want to tip" and I said "no". After this he would not speak to me and purposely put my order next to the window and walked about for several minutes in what felt like an attack for not tipping him. read more

You love smoothies? So do I and I love Tropical Smoothie smoothies. They have many different flavors and so many different ways to add what you want. Their food is also really good. On this trip, I ordered the Blimey Limey smoothie along with the caesar wrap (used to be called the King Caesar? No matter which smoothie I get, it is always delicious and blended perfectly. This place is not the ish. Not even playing there are 5 cars in line, middle of the afternoon, on a Saturday. I waited 10 mins for someone to say they were ready to take my order on the speaker. The line has not moved. They need to drop the prices significantly if they are going to have people waiting in their cars blowing their gas. Probably the worst service in this area. Ordered online for pick up. Was told 40 minutes until order would be ready. Showed up 35 minutes later to find my order picked over on a side table in customer area AND all smoothies missing. I was told my order had been sitting there since it was ordered and that they don't go by the quote times on the order itself. Also, I ordered an adult chx quesadilla but received a child cheese quesadilla. Management was rude and wouldn't remake the cold, picked over, incorrect order.. and only remade the missing smoothies when I said to remake them.. which took another 15 minutes. Worst experience so far.. ruined our family lunch. We are done trying different locations and hoping for better quality & service. read more

I don't know how this place is still in business. Every experience I've had at the drive thru has been sub-par. The speaker system is difficult for the cashier to understand the customer and the cashiers have attitudes because of it. Not once has my order been correct. This location has definitely gone downhill in the last year and a half. As usual I ordered a cheese (only) quesadilla with their red sauce. Good thing my husband checked the order before we left because once again they left out the red sauce. We get home to find out that his smoothie is so thick he can't even drink it, he needed a spoon! Also my cheese quesadilla had chicken in it (again, not the first or even second time this has happened!). I asked for just cheese as I am vegetarian and do not like chicken. If I could give 0 I would. This was my go to location but it has changed. The kids they hired are awful. Last experience this morning I went in and pre-ordered. I was going to get one more thing but the young blond girl up front was talking on her phone about cuddling up on the couch with her boyfriend. After about 8 minutes another young lady came out and asked if I needed a drink holder. I said I wanted to get something else but the young lady wouldn't get off the phone with her her friend. The young lady on the phone then said she is drive through and does not have to acknowledge me. She then turned her back and went back to talking on the phone. I frequent this place once a week because we do enjoy the smoothies and food but the last several times the customer service at the drive thru was horrific...until our delightful encounter with Ms. Riley! She was professional, patient, helpful and kind. She could hear me through the drive thru speaker and was very quick with my order. Hallelujah! I was going to start going to another location if the customer service didn't get better Just one tip for the owner...please don't have your employees ask for a tip for customers going through the drive thru...not cool. Since moving here from California 6 years ago, I have made it a point NOT to come to Tropical Smoothie Cafes after going to at least 6 different locations and being absolutely let down by customer service and wait time. I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE GIVEN THIS LOCATION A TRY! Whoever owns this franchise is doing it right. Great employees who are friendly and make sure your orders are correct. And great smoothies! Pulled into the drive thru at 11:45 and was told that I could not order a smoothie because they were counting their cash drawers, but the sign clearly says that they close at midnight. I told the cashier that maybe they should think about changing their hours if they can't accommodate clients during the set business hours that are posted. She nonchalantly replied, "okay". I'm not sure if it's because the place is new , or if its a different recipe but the drinks here at this location compared to the other local stores are amazing . The staff as well , was so polite . The first time nobody was upfront and when someone did come to take my order they seemed like they had better things to do than work and I had to wait such a long time for my order. The second time I was in there I had to yell Hello from the front for about 5 mins trying to get any worker to come take my order. If you are in the 89143 area go to the Durango location NOT Skye canyon. Today (1/20/23) at around 1540 I ordered my usual during happy hour which consisted of a sandwich and 3 smoothies. When I pulled up to the window I was a little surprised to hear my total. Apparently they wouldn't honor the free smoothie during happy hour because I purchased a sandwich lol... I've always ordered a sandwich during happy hour with my smoothies and I've never had this issue. I mentioned I only wanted the sandwich then and that it might help to give the total at the speaker so incidents like this don't happen. Well I saw that they had already made the smoothies and no one was behind me so I asked the young man if he could just ring up another transaction with just the smoothies so they don't go to waste. He said, "sure let me just check" closed the window and I could see he was smiling and talking to his fellow team members, came back to the window and said, "sorry we don't have them" I just thanked him and left.
