I enjoy Tropical smoothie cafe because of the consistency of their smoothies. I don't like smoothies that are too watery or too icy . They need to be a good balance of thickness, iciness, and creaminess. So thanks TSC for that. I wish the offerings were healthier, but you can customize them to be healthy so that's a plus. If you order a smoothie before 10am , it is significantly cheaper ($3.99 I believe) as opposed to $7.99 or something like that. However, if you order through the app before 10, you will not get the sale price. It's only when you order at the store or over the phone :| I feel like the business app should also apply the sales price , but whatever. I learned the hard way. But you do get a nice sized delicious smoothie, it just tastes sweeter when it's cheaper :) read more

The new owners or managers are very rude. Different tropical smoothie locations have different coupon and promotion policies and when I was trying to find out what they're stance was, the manager cut me off and wouldn't let me speak. She insisted that the promotional cup wasn't allowed to be combined with the early morning discount at any Tropical Smoothie franchise, however, every other Tropical Smoothie in the area (3 others) allows this combination. Instead of telling me that her store was different she rushed to end the conversation and move on even when there was no line behind me. I have been to this location about 3 times so far. It's on my way to work and the tropical smoothie app makes it super easy to place my order. I am able to pick the date and time so that it is ready for me to just run in and get to work. I am particular happy about my last visit on Wednesday morning. A woman greeted me with a big smile. I find that super important when walking into a place. She was telling me about a new smoothie. She had my food ready for me and made sure it was correct before I left. I tried the apple slaw turkey sandwich for the first time and it was fresh. The apple slaw had a ton of flavor and they didn't cheap out on how much they put on the sandwich. It was very filling. Overall this was a good location. The food and smoothie came out very fast, there was plenty of space inside and plenty of easy parking. HOWEVER, having been to multiple Tropical Smoothie locations on LI this was the most lackluster wrap I've had. Very bland, and felt like it was more bread than anything else. In all honesty there not much to say about tropical smoothie unless there is something bad to report about. I gave 5 stars because they have never messed up my order. Not once have I ever waited over approximately 5-9 minutes for my food and/or smoothie. The place is always clean and napkins, menus, gift cards etc is always stocked. The staff has always been pleasant. This doesn't count towards my review but I feel as if in general Tropical Smoothie is very bland. The food is good but you can tell it all cheap mass ordering they do and things like the chicken can be rubbery and the spinach never tastes fresh. The smoothies were good, the food was good, but we had a problem with our order that could have easily been avoided. We ordered a bunch of smoothies and some entrees through the UBER EATS app. On one of the orders I specified that I do not want the cheese, and then wrote in on the comments no dairy or gluten. We received a call from the cafe to clarify if we still wanted the chicken because they weren't sure if there was gluten on it; after some discussion it was clear that the person wasnt really too aware about the ingredients in their food and we said just put the chicken in. That dish came to us with the chicken, but it also had cheese in it, which made that part of the dish inedible because of a dietary restriction. It was upsetting because we had specified no cheese and then asked for no dairy in that dish...very simple mistake that could have been avoided if they paid attention. Otherwise, the food was tasty. It was fresh and tasted good. We got 2 wraps and a salad bowl, and they were all enjoyable. The only problem was that they didn't label which wrap was which and so we had to guess. The smoothies were great. Very large for a decent price and good taste. Combinations were very interesting so we got 4 different smoothies to try. The avocado coconut smoothie was the best one, everyone enjoyed it. Again, the smoothies werent labeled so we had to guess which smoothie was which flavor. read more

Needless to say I asked if I could have something else after taking one sip. Cashier had to get manager. I like TSC. I usually get a green smoothie and customize it. Less fruit, no sweeteners, more greens! I like that they allow me to customize it. The staff were friendly and it was clean the morning I visited. I love that for your birthday if you're an email subscriber you'll get an email for a free 24oz smoothie! Score! I'm shocked to see the ratings for this place. Definitely underrated! If I could give this place 12 stars I would. I come here every week. I've tried multitudes of smoothies over the years but my go-to smoothie is the peanut paradise with whey protein. I've tried just about every food item besides the salads, the food is dank. Every month they seem to have some new featured food item that's usually pretty good. Last month was 3 different grilled cheeses, this month is a cajun shrimp salad and a cajun shrimp wrap (SLAPS!) . I use the rewards app to order ahead, for every $50 you spend you get a $5 reward. It adds up quickly coming here at least once a week with my girlfriend. Also, on the receipts if you complete the survey online you get a $1.99 smoothie. I've been to numerous Tropical Smoothie locations on LI and outside LI, they are very consistent with their food and drinks. Tropical Smoothie is the GOAT. The Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Smithtown has quickly become a weekly stop for me, and sometime even a couple of times a week. Since I work from home on Fridays, I usually stop in to get lunch and I'll say that my experience is usually very consistent. I order a wrap and smoothie combo most of the time and I have to say that the Thai Wrap, extra spicy is currently my favorite. Same goes for the Watermelon Mojito smoothie. Generally, I usually ask for half the sugar in my smoothies, but the Watermelon one tastes great with the full sugar load. I highly recommend downloading and using their app. For every $55 you spend, you get $5 credit. You can also do any pre-orders and pay right through the app. It's almost too easy. If I had any reservations, its that the Smithtown location, in the past, has had a bit of funk smell to it, but it seems as though in recent weeks, that's gotten much much better. This could be due to the shift to being under new management. Also, there are only 5 tables at this location, three four seaters and two high top two seaters. During busy times, you're not going to get a seat. No big deal, as I usually take out anyway. The food is good, seems to taste fresh, and as I mentioned before, presentation, taste, and experience has been very consistent. My son and I also come in on Saturdays to get a smoothie and a cookie, and the staff is always very nice and accommodating when possible. Most of the time though, there is a line and they are very busy with customers, so I don't necessarily need a personal touch in those scenarios. Everything has been good that I have tried. The tacos, the wraps, even the salads have all been delicious. Breakfast has been good too. I've tried around 70% of the smoothies on the menu and all have been good with the exception of one. The green one with the avocado was not my cup of tea. I love avocado, but in this scenario, this was not a smoothie I would get again, but I had to try it to find out. Smoothie was great and my wrap aswell, (was the hummus veggie wrap, no cheese no ranch) could have had more black beans but it was great overall. My one complaint is that it came with chips and I ordered the baked lays potato chips, and was given CHEDDAR sun chips.
