    Trio dip and Cheese Borek
    Ria B.

Wonderful place tucked away in pac heights! The interior is super cute with a white Mediterranean feel like something you would find in Greece. The food was great! All the dips were delicious and well seasoned and the portion sizes were reasonable for a somewhat higher end restaurant. The service was super nice. Our table was small so they brought a stool over to put the extra food and kept checking in to make sure we were comfortable.

    Chickpea falafel

Came here for dinner on a Saturday. Got the chickpea falafel. Honestly so good and flavorful. The sauce on top was amazing and really tied it together. The hummus was very creamy and not too salty. Also ordered the chicken skewer. The chicken itself was tasty and well seasoned, but the rice stood out a lot. The raisins added a nice sweetness and it came with more of that same sauce from the falafel which was amazing. We finished with the walnut baklava and it was easily some of the best baklava I've had. It was nutty and not overly sweet. The staff was incredibly kind. We came in right before closing and stayed a bit past, and they never rushed us. Even cleaned up spilled rice right away without making it awkward. Only criticism with the place is that it is pretty expensive for the quantity and the quality of the food.

Really cute spot for a dinner! The vibe inside was very warm and mediterranean feeling. The service was very prompt as well. It was decently busy inside on a Tuesday night! We ordered the dip appetizer which comes with 3 dips and pita bread, and the veggie moussaka to share. I enjoyed all the dips & the bread tasted very healthy if that makes sense. I also didn't know what to expect with the moussaka but was pleasantly surprised! It was super flavorful and I loved the cheese on top. It's packed with beans, veggies, and potato chunks and goes perfectly with the rice. Prices were reasonable and we had some leftovers!

Really yummy Turkish restaurant! I came here with a friend for their Turkish breakfast for 2 and we were blown away by the variety of flavors and the large portion! There's a variety of warm bread, a spread of olives, cheese, yogurt dip, tahini, and shashuka with beef sausage. My favorite bites were the shashuka with pita bread and the simit (a Turkish sesame pretzel) topped with kaymak + honey. I loved the kaymak which reminded me of a British clotted cream and the labnah parfait which had such a great thick greek yogurt consistency with a nice tang. It's a great way to try bunch of little bites - the perfect girl brunch! The atmosphere during brunch is casual but fun and there was a DJ as well! It's lively without being too busy or loud which is appreciated on Fillmore! Definitely come by if you're looking for Turkish cuisine.

    Chicken Skewers

Came here with a friend for dinner on a Monday. There was no wait and the staff was attentive and friendly. The interior was warm and chic and great for a date spot or friends catchup. We ordered hummus with lamb, cauliflower, and the chicken skewer to share. The hummus with lamb is amazing and a must try. I've never had such combo and it's so flavorful. The cauliflower and the chicken skewers are good as well but the chicken was a bit dry. Maybe lamb skewers would be better. Overall a nice place with reasonable portions and nice vibes.

Service was good. We sat in their outdoor covered seating and it was nice and clean. We tried the Turkish beef dumpling with the yogurt sauce and the lamb chops with warm hummus and roasted potatoes. The dumplings were small but plentiful - mostly dough and the beef flavor was not notable because the ratio of filling to dough highly favored the dough. This tasted nice but the beef was not the highlight. The lamb chops we ordered medium and they were very good. Overall enjoyed the meal.

This is a delicious Mediterranean spot ! All the dishes were so good and the portion sizes are big enough to share ! This is a great date night spot as well and the service was great ! The dumplings were so unique, defs worth a try !

Ordered a Greek chicken salad to go and unfortunately noticed a live bug moving around on the lettuce through the container lid. I returned to the restaurant and showed it to the staff, and they replaced it with chicken and rice. While I appreciate their quick response, this was not what I ordered (no avocado, cheese, veggies, etc) and I did not receive any discount.

This place needs no introduction. With its amazing service and flavorful food Troya never disappoints. The first time I came here was a year ago and when we went yesterday, the flavors were even better than I remember. Seating is wooden chairs and benches (booths), and it is such a cozy atmosphere. Service was 10/10, as our server was extremely attentive to consistently filling up our waters and clearing plates (or providing plates) promptly.

Very cute place. I didn't think it would be as spacious inside based on the outside. I went on a Saturday afternoon around 130p. There were people in there and we got seated right away. There was a DJ there. I thought that was a cool addition to the ambiance. I had the Shashuka. It was very saucy. I wish they provided more pita bread because I had a lot of tomato sauce left. The sauce didn't quite taste homemade but more out of a can. I could be wrong but to me it didn't taste "fresh". It was still good though. The egg was cooked just right. My friend had the Turkish scramble. He said it was good. I could've scooped some of his scrambled eggs to mix with my tomato sauce. I would come back again. The table next to us had a huge salad. It looked so good. I'll have to try that next time I come back....with that said, I'd definitely come back.

We found Troya to be ok, 3.5 stars (which I'll round up as usual). We got there for a late lunch, around 3pm, and ordered the Vegetarian feast for two. There were several dishes, with a range of quality. First out was a salad, which wasn't very good. It's not a Greek salad, for one thing. The feta was completely tasteless, and watermelon radishes look nice, but added no flavor. We mostly tasted the dressing and green (?) olives. There was a platter with tzatziki, hummus, and muhammara, with some pita. It wasn't bad, not special. The falafel balls and dolmades were quite good. We liked the cauliflower and crispy brussel sprouts with aioli very much. Finally there was moussaka, made with eggplant with lentils inside. More seasoning was needed in the tomato sauce, and the rice pilaf was pretty bland as well. But it was a lot of food, and we left with several boxes. The setting was bright and clean, but just generally needs a flavor injection. They gave us two small pieces of baklava as well, which were tasty.

Love this spot! It's super cute & cozy and the food is so underrated. I like how simple the menu is. We ordered the trio dip platter, red lentil soup and braised lamb shoulder. All the dips are so delicious! I love the muhammara here, it's soo good. Also, the lentil soup really surprised me. It's creamy and is perfect for a chilly day. The lamb was so tender and flavorful. Also the rice with the yogurt was creamy and perfectly spiced. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back here!

The music and interior décor create such a great vibe here. We made a reservation just to be safe, and the moment we walked in, the incredible aroma had us excited. The portions were just right, allowing us to try a variety of dishes, all packed with bold and delicious flavors. Highly recommend the lamb shoulder and Manti, both were outstanding!

It was like eating in a private garden, surrounded by a nice floral arrangement. The food was superb. Highest quality. The salad appetizers were fresh & crunchy. The feta cheese & small lavash breads were a great way to start. See the mains in the photos. My lamb chops & beef/lamb skewer was excellent. My sons raved about their salmon & beef. The rice was perfect: real longer grained basmati, delicately spiced, with hints a saffron. I loved the roasted tomato, raw onions, cilantro, & mint leaves. Of course plenty of lavash. Easily a 4.5. I'd give a 5, but my wife said her chicken was a little dry. Still tasty, especially with her rice that had raisins, dates, & lentils. Maybe nit picking, but overall good. The Napoleon with a scoop of raspberry ice cream was excellent. This Napoleon wasn't so creamy, but more about layers of cake. More complex than the usual variant. I'm a fan. The drinks were on point. Great ambiance & waiter. Great portions & value for this level of quality. Lavash takes pride in what they do. We will be back for great Persian cuisine.

It is not a sit-down restaurant and doesn't pretend to be. What it is, is consistently excellent food at prices that still make sense in a city where that's getting rare. We're regulars, and we usually go on Sunday evenings after my girlfriend gets off work. Falafel wrap and chicken shawarma are our usual order -- the falafel has that crisp-shell, tender-middle thing going, and the wraps are generously built. We've branched out plenty and everything we've tried has been good. The other reason we keep showing up is the people. Turna usually takes our order, and she is genuinely lovely -- friendly in a way that isn't a customer-service script. My girlfriend and I always walk out in a better mood than we walked in with, which is worth a lot. Practical notes: halal, lots of vegetarian and vegan-friendly options, open until midnight Fri/Sat, and they cater. I think the sauce should have been on the side. The rest of the dish was good. 4/5 LAMB KEBAB PLATE ~ this was my dish. I touched my skewers thinking they were going to be hot, but it was surprisingly cold. I'm not sure why skewers would be cold when the food should be hot right off the grill. The lamb was cooked medium rare as I requested, though there was little to no seasoning. So it was kind of gamey and tasteless 3/5 RACK OF LAMB PLATE ~ my partner chose this dish. The lamb was also very light in seasoning. The pistachio rice was interesting and nutty. Asparagus was good. 3.5/5 MIXED GRILL PLATE ~ our friend enjoyed this dish. Maybe a mixed grill is the way to go and some meats cooked and seasoned better than others. 4/5 BEEF KEBAB PLATE ~ the beef was also room temperature and lightly seasoned. 3.5/5 SALMON ~ I tried some of this and it was decent. 4/5 BAKLAVA & CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE ~ Nice birthday surprise and a sweet way to end the meal. Baklava wasn't as crispy or flaky as some I've had, but the honey-pistachio nuts were good. Chocolate mousse cake was decadent and moist. 4/5 Beautiful presentation on the plating of our food, though the timing for the food wasn't quite right as a few plates were served room temperature and not hot. However, the surprise desserts were a nice touch in helping us celebrate a birthday!
