    Strawberry Shortcake
    Laura L.

Hits the spot but wouldn't be my first choice. It's a no frills joint with some tables and a variety of cake options you can purchase by the slice (and I'm assuming whole if desired). Cake slices are approximately 10$ each give or take. I opted for the Strawberry Shortcake. The cake was a bit crumbly and a little dry imo. With the sauce and whipped cream it was tasty but not something I would be recommending or running to when wanting a cake fix.

The strawberry shortcake was dry and the icing was ok, we heard about the fresh strawberry jam and it was ok. I don't recommend this slice (their cream pies are good) Did take out but the service and ambiance is always good.

I love this cake shop! I purchased a slice of coconut cake, which was light, fluffy and not too sweet. I also took two slices of the diplomat cake to go. The highlight of my visit was the server Martine. She was genuinely kind and helpful, and her cheerful disposition made my experience memorable. I'll definitely be back soon!

Visited True Confections on Denman this past weekend, after not being back at this location in years. Was craving a sweet treat and we usually come for their cheesecakes, but during this visit the sweet lady behind the counter somehow persuaded us to try out their cakes! She highly recommended the coconut cake, which was 10/10, we'll be back for another slice! Thank you Chi Chi for making our experience unforgettable, your passion for your cakes is undeniable!

True Confection or True Disconnection? As I recalled from memory lane, this used to be bumping and the place to be for good desserts and drinks, both locations were packed and lineups. Honestly, I even had one of my businesses sell some of the desserts back in the days. What happened?!? Fast forward it to nowadays, the service at the West Broadway location was horrible and the Denman location, extremely slow and barely passable when there was only 3 tables of customers. Plus some drinks were out or too late to make it when it's an hour before closing?? Anyways, here were the food that I was able to order; 1. Mixed berry cheesecake. It was okay, I remember it was better? And a bit bigger with the portion or am I wrong? 2. Chocolate caramel pecan pie. A little bit doughy on the under crust. 3. Orange soda. All the other drinks weren't available besides a soda, tea or water. Overall, I visited both locations and the services just weren't like before. The atmosphere was similar to wandering around an abandoned mall and the food just not it when compared to similar bakeries nearby. I guess just like many thriving businesses, got too comfortable with its success and didn't put in the effort to catch-up with time until it's too late. It really saddens me for a second when I see such thriving businesses from before became nothing but just an afterthought, a True Disconnection from its glory days.

Sorry ate it before I could take a pic..

Sweets lovely sweets for you and for meeeee! Mind blowing desserts, love a first sight. You have this warm and giddy feeling just looking at all of the gorgeous cakes, pies, and other gorgeous confections to satisfy your soul. Cheese cake, yummy and their cakes with butter cream so lovely and fluffy. This is a must do and do over place!

This is a very good dessert shop. They have a very large selection of cakes, cheesecakes, tea, and coffee. We ordered the strawberry cheesecake and the milk chocolate hazelnut cake, accompanied with earl grey tea. The cheesecake was perfect, it wasn't overly sweet like the desserts available in America. The milk chocolate hazelnut cake was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. The service was phenomenal, it is a great place to grab dessert, tea, or coffee.

True Confections has been the tried and true dessert place to go to with friends for decades. We went to the one downtown on Denman Street. There's an ample selection of cakes, cheesecakes, and pies for all types of sweet tooths. All of us had something chocolate - chocolate raspberry cake, dark Belgian Mousse Torte, & Devil's Food cake. We all enjoyed our dessert choices. Their prices are reasonable. The slices are enough to bring home as leftovers. Their cakes still taste delish and fresh after all these years. Too bad their pies didn't possess a wow factor. You can buy a slice of cake or a whole cake. A nice place to enjoy desserts and beverages with family and friends any time.

Wait to b seated as its always jam packed especially night time

Craving for something sweet at midnight? Not a problem. True confections have your back. Not one but two locations to serve night time A lot of people must know it as a source of sweet/desserts but surprisingly few are aware about the source of sourness. I mean alcohol Yes ofcourse this place offers alcoholic hot drinks like baileys or just a glass of wine. Also some teas and coffees n hot chocolate. Infact melted hot chocolate was interesting. Take away is available. Recommended to pre-order cakes for ur special occasions. I have been to both denmer n broadway locations n my favourite is broadway one. It is in plaza so parking is easy.

    Rosette cupcakes

Ordered the rosette cupcakes for daughters 16th birthday party. Rosette frosting was very disappointing and did not look like the pictures. Staff even agreed that the cupcakes were poorly done. Called and emailed the manager to ask to replace but received no answer. I was weary to order the cupcakes based on the previous reviews about the customer service. Do not make the same mistake as me.

Awesome dessert cafe with multiple locations in Vancouver, with an array of artisanal cakes and pies to choose from. Birthday cake is my favourite. One of the great things about this cafe is that they're open till midnight so perfect for a late night treat!

    White chocolate raspberry cheesecake

I love this place. I have not been in so long. Most of the cakes are usually larger portioned and I would have a hard time finishing. However, the cheesecake in comparison was the perfect size for one and I enjoyed it immensely. The white chocolate raspberry is my usual go to as far as desserts are concerned. The chocolate cakes are also decadent and rich if you like that type of dessert. If you don't mind a rustic, homestyle look, this is your place. It is even better when you are able to enjoy it outside on a breezy day with a nice cup of tea.

We stopped by for coffee and dessert. I ordered a latte. There were lots of desserts to choose from. I ordered a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake to take home. Latte was alright. They can improve on the latte art. Service was on the slow side. There were too many customers and only two workers. This dessert shop offers a lot of classic options and opens late. They have a decent seating area for groups. There are tastier and fancier options these days, but they are a reliable option if you are in the area.

Well it seems ownership has changed and the new owner doesn't give two craps about prior customers, honoring discounts, replying back timely or being more friendly? Was playing email tag and finally submitted the 39 flavors and didn't hear back until after another week and then told they won't deliver only in morning when they know our reservation was for 730pm and they're open until 9? I even replied back and nothing. We own and run several business in lower mainland and in United States and this customer service from Unni Pastries is trash. At least you can do is reply back and apologize? For wasting time when I specifically told you it's for family and friends flying into town for a funeral burial. Will never use their business again. I highly suggest Mello. They replied and helped me out last minute. Shame on you! Learn how to run a business and treat customers esp previous customers who were supporting the business and fellow Krn but it's clear the new owner doesn't care about the customer or quality it's all about quantity. Maybe my 39 donuts which I offered to pay extra for time and packaging wasn't large enough but money is money. Especially during this time and economy. You should've at least replied back and even tried asking us to do pickup as the restaurant is down the road. Do better! Go to Mello which isn't too far and they bake fresh daily better pricing and reviews and consistency!

The sagos were cooked just right with the perfect texture and most importantly, it wasn't too sweet. We also ordered their instagram worthy mahjong tiles which is essentially red bean and coconut pudding. It's very cute and definitely instagram worthy. It's not too sweet and I liked that it came with a side of red bean sauce which made it less dry. The money is also made of edible paper but we didn't touch it cuz it felt weird eating it. However, it wasn't anything special and we wouldn't order it again. It was quite busy when we arrived on a Friday night but it's much easier to go in a smaller party. We were a party of 2 and walked right in even though others were waiting because they needed a bigger table. The place is clean and service was fast. They don't have a time limit even though they are busy so it's a great hang out spot. We would definitely be back to try out other items they have to offer.
