You can tell the employees pride themselves on good service and exceptional food. James went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. First time trying this spot. It honestly wasn't my favorite. The food is so so, service was decent, and the inside is just a bit too try hard trendy. The burgers were meh, and who doesn't have freaking French fries. Brussels sprouts were decent, but the mushrooms mixed in were the real star of the show. The Spicy Pineapple Margarita went hard and was so yummy. They have a pretty large space, you can sit in the "outside" which is heated and covered. Or the main dining room. It's one of those places where if it isn't packed, the whole restaurant is hearing your convo. If you're in a pinch this place is fine. Wouldn't really go out of my way to come here. read more

Terrible salad There was almost nothing in the Chinese Chicken Salad despite ingredients list. It was iceberg lettuce and a couple carrot shreds and a few hard dry cold chicken tidbits. I stumbled upon this spot randomly while doing some shopping in Annapolis. I loved the clean and welcoming environment. A lot of natural lighting and fairly spacious. It's so many healthy options on the menu that actually sound good! Not only that, the food taste great. I had the Hatch green Chile turkey burger and it was fresh and flavorful; I was pleasantly surprised. It's not too often that I find restaurants that pride themselves on fresh ingredients but this one really hit the mark. They also serve cocktails which I did not try but I will next time. Very large space. There is a take out section as well. We sat in the "outdoor" section. Basically indoors, with some large sections open to the outdoors. Waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. The menu is a tad lackluster, a bit uninspired. The portions are micro sized. Ok not micro but, sheesh, I came here to eat not to sample things with a couple bites. Prices are definitely not small in proportion to the food portions. Check out my pictures. The spoon looks huge compared to the desert. That is just a regular teaspoon. The Cobb salad you see there is disappointing, due to its size. The buffalo pizza could of been cooked more so the dough was crisp and not soggy. A little to much oil on the pizza as well. The flavors were just ok. A little extra effort and the pizza could be on point. It wasn't. Overall a miss for us. Don't see a reason to return. Food could of been so much better. Everything tasted so healthy and fresh! The menu has a variety of food options as well as brunch on the weekends and craft cocktails. I ordered the Grass-Fed Burger which comes with a choice of a kale or Sweet potato hash as a side. You have the option of trying both sides (half of each) for no further cost. I liked the space that they have; you can sit in the regular dining area, bar seating or even have a private room for larger parties. They offer catering and meal prep too! First, we will not be going back to this restaurant. I had been a few times previously, about 2 years ago, and really liked it. I went with my husband on a Thursday evening at 6:00 this time. There weren't many people there, that was my first sign something may be wrong. The waiter was ok, but nothing extraordinary, which is fine. He was attentive and nice. My biggest issue was the serving sizes and the basic recipes, v. the cost. I ordered an air fried chicken tender salad. It was $20 and it was slightly larger than a side salad. It consisted of lettuce mix, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, 3-4 thin pieces of air fried chicken and dressing. That's it. Was not worth the $20. My husband ordered an air fried chicken sandwich and side salad. Again, the portion sizes were very small for a $20 sandwich. It is now the next day, and I still can't get over what we spent. I've been eyeing True Food Kitchen for a while. The combination of farm fresh, healthy, and organic, all rolled up into tasty-creative options on a menu, always attracts me. The restaurant/patio dinning is a lively spot to be, especially on a Friday night. Since we would've had to wait for a table, we decided to grab a couple of chairs at the bar. The vibe of the restaurant is fun and environmentally friendly. An open kitchen is visible in the rear of the restaurant, a private room for private events is off to the side and the color scheme is so vibrant. I ordered a watermelon mojito and a margherita pizza. I found my drink to be a little lackluster and even though it had no ice, it seemed to be watered down. The pizza was light and crisp. Very good! We were talked into trying dessert. Didn't have to talk us into it that hard. Vegan vanilla ice cream and chocolate chip cookies that have a bit of bananas in them. Absolutely delicious! I wouldn't have never known the ice cream was vegan, had I not been told. It was very creamy and dreamy. The bar staff were all entertaining. S/O to Erin who was making drinks non-stop from the moment we sat down until we left. They were all very helpful and knowledgeable. Bottom Line: Service was incredibly slow and the food was good but not worth the wait. My husband and I finally got a chance to try True Food Kitchen after hearing a lot of great things about it. Unfortunately we were disappointed. We went for lunch on a federal holiday and waited about 25 minutes to be seated which was only a tad over the estimated wait time so no big deal there but then it was another 10 minutes before anyone came to the table and another 5 minutes before we had waters. I guess they were understaffed because at one point I counted eight unbussed tables including one next to us. I have to stay that looking at someone's leftover food and mess for 20 minutes wasn't the most appetizing. Anyway, what I enjoyed about True Food Kitchen was the diverse menu featuring a variety of flavors. My husband ordered Pho and I ordered a Grilled Chicken & Mozzarella Panini. The Korean Noodle Bowl and Ancient Grains Bowl also sounded tempting. Based on the menu, I can see why people like this place. I will say that the staff present in the restaurant did seem to be hustling. And since you can see into the kitchen I could see the hustle going on there too. The closest parking is in the Target garage across the street unless you get super lucky and score a street spot out front. Even though my first experience at True Food Kitchen wasn't great I do see why people like it. We'll give it another whirl at some point and I'll update my review then. read more

We decided to visit on Friday evening a little after 7. I did not do a reservation and was told that they were no accepting walk-ins, but we could wait in the to-go area for a bar seat as the bar area is first come first serve. Luckily a young lady was signing her check at the bar and we scored two seats close to the kitchen. As we walked to the seats, I noticed there were about 3 tables with six seats each with reserved signs on them. Once seated at the bar David greeted us and was super friendly and kind. We decided to try the peach and bourbon, a very refreshing cocktail, but noticed most cocktail orders were for the Monarch a cool gin cocktail with rosemary and cucumber and a shot of purple liqueur that changes the color of the drink......looked pretty, but I'm not a gin chick‍ We ordered the tuna cups as our appetizer, although there were so many great options, it made it hard to choose. There was a bit of a wait on that appetizer as it seemed the kitchen was backed up, they were gracious enough to comp our beer and seltzer for the inconvenience. Once we did receive it, it was delicious Very fresh ingredients! Deciding on entrees was even more difficult So many great options, but I went with the vegan double cheeseburger and he decided on the Korean noodles with shrimp. I can say everything was tasty. I did notice those reserved tables were never filled and we stayed until almost closing, guess they are trying to create hype‍ just didn't make much sense. read more
