The staff I forgot their names since I am so relaxed now, both ladies were so helpful, kind and detail oriented to make sure I had enough water to drink and time to use the restroom and took the time to explain to me how the pod works. I just moved to Roseville and was looking for some activity to do outside the house and I found True REST Float Spa which is very close to my new house. I had such a good experience here. The shop is very clean and modern. I bought a one hour float program. This is my first time float but Ashley was super nice, warm, welcoming, and gave me an introduction about how it works. After I finished my float, they offered a free oxygen breath for 10min. It was such a great feeling and relaxing! I definitely can't wait to come back again! I've gone to a lot of different "float spas" and have been floating for over two years. It's not hard to find a float spa that has new pods like the ones at this location so for me, it's a matter of service. The service here is top notch. The staff is knowledgeable - I tested them :) - friendly and super helpful. They definitely want you to have a comfortable/wonderful experience. I've never had better customer service in any other float spa before. The place is also immaculately CLEAN! I can't stress this enough. To me, a clean space is 10X more important than how friendly the staff is... The float itself was amazing. I had access to tons of amenities, was able to take my time and never felt rushed out of the experience (even though they had more customers waiting!!) My experience here was awesome. If you are looking for the Benifits you've heard about from various media outlets about the benifits of sensory deprivation tanks .....this is NOT the location to try. I've been here twice and both times it was so noisy it literally was a totally wasted endeavor. I've been to tanks in other cites around a dozen times never have I had an issue before. From slamming doors to playing music there are non stop distractions. The second time I went I ended up leaving half way through my 90 dollar session thoroughly irritated. I'm not sure if it's from a terrible location, poorly done construction for a service like this (thin cheap walls ?), or staff that suck? My wife and I went there in early December and really enjoyed it. Alex was really nice and wonderful to work with. We bought gift cards for our family members to try and enjoy. My only complaint is that they NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONE. When you leave a message you get an automated text that tries to handle your request but it comes back with no times available in the next week. I know this isn't true because they did call me back today and said there were several times available. When I called back 3 minutes later, the same stupid answering machine. I've tried calling 4 times today and never get an answer. Honestly, I'm concerned that my family won't use the gift cards because it's so difficult to get an appointment. Just when I thought this place was about as perfect as could be, I go again and it's improved left and right. How does one improve on perfection? Let me tell ya.. They've done away with the inflatable neck pillow (which I personally enjoyed) and replaced it with something called a halo. A flat foam ring, you place your head in the center and it adds the additional support you might need versus letting your head/neck free float. The water felt a touch warmer than I recall, which is like... heavenly. The staff is well, still fantastic. Jackie was welcoming and happy to give me a quick refresher on how everything works etc. I heart Jackie. We clicked and she is one of those people you meet and feel you go way back with. Hey Jackie, remember ditching class with me to go to the mall? No? Oh, that's right. My bad. She's awesome. I've always said that there are people who will "get it" when it comes to floating, for those who are on the fence here is what I recommend: Give it a shot! I have always wanted to try out this float spa and I absolutely LOVED it!! I first walked in and was immediately greeted by Adriana. She knew everything about the experience and made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. I felt so relaxed after my float! Went into this egg a tired hen... Hatched out as a new chick. Tip: get your first visit at Groupon. Then get free 10 min at the O2 Bar when you check in on Yelp. Use the rain shower if you're feelin' fancy. I wanted the full total darkness experience . It was like I was floating through space between awake and asleep. I kind of wish that you can leave the music on because leaving myself with my thoughts is hard. But I guess that's mental exercise for ya. At first it was a little awkward because I did my orientation with a stranger and it almost felt like they were going to put us in one room. I was like, huh? I didn't sign up for a couples float. The staff is really nice at the front desk. They seem genuinely concerned that you're having a good experience. However I've floated here twice in different pods and the float itself is too warm so it's not really possible to achieve sensory deprivation. The second time I floated it was super loud - there seemed to be motor or music or something making a noise the whole time and the pod was so hot I was literally dripping sweat. I talked to the woman working after and she said there is a gym next door so it could have been that. I used a Groupon so it was not a huge deal but if I had paid full price I would have been pretty upset. The atmosphere isn't relaxing enough for what you pay for I think and it might be a location issue. I talked to my husband after about his float and he had similar complaints but was able to block it out more. There is also a music button inside the float pods which doesn't do anything so that seems odd and on your first time they make you watch this strange infomercial type video for floating that is 8 minutes long that says you can start/stop the music and you can use your own music and there's a rag inside the pod for you to wipe your face of which none is true so kind of strange they have you watch a video like that. They seem to have relatively affordable deals if floating is your thing - I've just had better experiences at other places. If I'm gonna pay for a deprivation float - I'd like my senses to be deprived. This is also a little thing but I wish the lights would do what you want; they're on a motion sensor so they turn on with any motion. So during my float I had to open the pod for some air cause of the heat and the lights turned on and then I had to get out to turn them off. And in the shower after I like the lights off but they just continually turn on. They provide lotions and hair stuff and hot tea and an oxygen bar for after which is nice. read more

Floating has been on my bucket list for a while, so I was stoked when a friend shared a Living Social deal with me so I could try it out at a discount. The verdict? This place is magical. I had no idea what to expect going in for my appointment. The front desk had me watch an introductory video (which gave a very helpful suggestion to count breaths while I'm relaxing during my session), and then the helpful front desk employee gave me a tour and showed me how to operate everything. And then the magic began. Both my first and second time, I counted to 300 breaths before my brain truly let go. But even with the mental cogs turning, my body was completely at ease, and my chronic stress left my upper back and shoulders. The last 10-15 minutes, my mind completely let go, and I floated in and out of sleep. Once the wakeup music started, I exited out of the pod, showered off the salt, and floated to the post-float room (recovery room? return-to-earth room?), read others' reviews, drank herbal tea and tried their oxygen bar. My best friend and I got groupons to try this float thing. I have been excited to try it ever since I've heard about it a couple years ago. Upon arrival, Marcus welcomed us. We signed in and he gave us flip flops to wear inside so our shoes dont get ruined by salt water. He gave us a tour of where everything was. For first timers, they take you into a room with comfy seats to watch a short video on how the float pod works. After the video, took us to one pod room to show how how the pod worked as far as the lights, music, how to wash before and after, etc. Put in your ear plugs and wash your body and hair before getting in the pod. No lotions or conditioners in the water. Open your pod, get in, close it and relax. You have the choice of music for the first 10 minutes then silence or music the whole time. I personally ended up not liking the music on the whole time. But that's just me. You float so perfectly in the pod. No touching anything except the occasional floating to the sides. Its dark and peaceful... if you like that. I did ;) After your hour is up, the light and jet come on. Time to get out and wash your body and hair. They have lotions and a hair dryer if needed as well. Then, you go to the zen room. They have an oxygen bar, coloring books, journals, colored markers, tea, water. Marcus was awesome. Very friendly. We all talked and enjoyed some relaxation before leaving. I will definitely do it again! I think the first time is your tester. I dont think I would judge if you hate it the first time. Wasn't sure what to expect, I will say that at the end I felt completely relaxed and rejuvenated. It did take me some time to get comfortable though. It wasn't until the end (last 20-15minutes) that I was able to really relax. My hubby and I booked another session as I think you need more than 2 times to really get the full experience. Overall enjoyed myself, felt relaxed after. The oxygen bar is not worth the money though, seems like a cheap knock off of other oxygen bars I've used. The scents were weak and could barely feel anything coming out. It was free the first time so it didn't cost us to use it. But I wouldn't pay for this particular service. Also it would have been nice if the tea was warm. But I still enjoyed my "iced" tea and water in the relaxing room. Can't wait to go again and I did book another float. read more

Well I went back in after several months and I'm glad I did. I saw a lot of positive improvements over my previous post. IMPROVEMENTS The check-In and out is still only being done by one overworked person... But I am told they have a new hire starting Oct. It is part of their overall plan to move some rooms around. (See photo). Yay! Badly needed. It appears they turned the temp down in the pods- no longer stuffy when closed! It feels like the warmers turn off when float starts. Of course, the water temp is cooler this way and cools slightly below skin temp by the very end. But if you're still you will not notice it much. And being able to close the lid makes for a much better sensory experience. STILL CONS They still charge extra for towels. Or they're supposed to anyway. I get the impression they may not be sticklers about it. But still, just provide fluffy warm towels already! A wet salty towel is a bummer to carry around. It's an easy way to make the experience more luxurious. The noise is still a potential issue. I was in room 4 and it was perfectly quiet. My friend was in room 2 and she had some noise issues. Didn't seem to bother her excessively but it was a quiet Sunday night. Might be a bigger problem during peak hours in the other businesses. Overall I would recommend giving it a try! I, once again, sleep like a baby afterwards and feel absolutely fantastic! read more

I had a great experience at True Rest. I have health anxiety and was referred to float therapy by my therapist. I was greeted by a lovely customer service rep. She showed me around and make me feels very comfortable. Once I got into the float tank, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to last the entire hour. It took me about 10-15 minutes to truly let go and relax and before I knew it my time was up and I'm was completely relaxed. I thought maybe 30 minutes had passed but it was the full hour. It was a really pleasant experience and I hope to visit again soon. read more

Received an invitation from a friend for the oxygen bar. Super Mellow spot that is welcoming when you in walk super clean. There are salt rocks that make the spot relaxing and welcoming. I enjoyed the free licorice tea and calm ambience when receiving my oxygen but there was a constant beeping every few minutes and staff had to come in and reset the button which happen to be behind my seat I wanted to tour as well but there was a pod in use so we couldn't get a tour so I shall return on a later date. read more

Please don't book here. my wife planned a "daddy relax day" which consisted of me going to the gym and enjoying an hour of float therapy. she booked online, never received an email nor a phone call. I get a call at 935a asking me where I am, I tell her I am at crunch fitness less than a mile away, she says they have to reschedule my appointment because I was supposed to be there 30 min. early. I told her I never got the email and get there in 5 minutes!!. She says they still need to reschedule ( Lauren) and there is nothing she can do and leaves it at that. For a place that promotes peace, relaxation, and acceptance they sure are pretty rigid about their schedule. I would encourage they apply a better way of communication rather than a corporate automated email. The girl could not confirm or deny that an email was sent. if you are reading please reconsider booking with this place. I don't think they take their customer service seriously. My best advice is to get some epson salt, throw it in your bathtub and listen to some youtube theta waves and you got a homemade float session !!! This is a past dated review. I went to the spa twice towards the beginning of this year and wow! Who would've thought that floating in some salty water would help this much. I suffer from what is commonly called military neck. After years of carrying 60+ pounds of gear, my neck compressed to the point that it is straight with zero natural curve. This causes chronic pain in my neck to the mid of my back. I have visited chiropractors and tried many things but floating truly does help. When you float, you are in zero gravity so your body has no pressure which allows your spine to realign. I usually walk around at a 6 level of pain on a daily basis but after floating, I am good for a full week with little to no pain. Try it...and thank me later. read more

We're on our way there and receive a call asking if we're on our way because I needed to be there 30 mins early since I'm a new client. At this point we're still 20 mins out and I explain I didn't know but are on our way. She wasn't budging at all and explained it's sent in an email after you book, which I did not check. She even called an hour or so before to confirm some details and didn't mention to check email or show up early. Bait & switch! My wife & I paid for a membership here for several months! We are self employed so we aren't able to get in as often as we'd like, but with both of us having debilitating fibromyalgia & other autoimmune issues, these floats were very beneficial to our pain. We got to a point in our businesses where we had to invest & grow & couldn't pay a monthly membership to float anymore. We were so sad, but we were ASSURED the floats we'd already paid for in the months we couldn't attend would remain on our account. We even got another call from them out of the blue a month ago telling us that, even though the floats we previously purchased had expired, that they were going to let us use them whenever we could. We were so thankful! WELL. Guess what. We have 2 major dance shows this weekend we will be putting on. They require extreme physical & mental stress & we looked forward to using a couple floats the day after the show for some much needed rejuvenation. My wife called to book. An hour later I get a call from their "manager on duty" telling me that they're "under new ownership now" (not my fault, not my problem) & that the only way I get to use the floats I ALREADY PAID FOR is for us to sign up and pay for another monthly membership! She tried to make it sound like they were "giving me 5 free floats". No. That's not free. I paid for those already. And having to pay another monthly membership to use something I already purchased is RIDICULOUS. IF ANYTHING, Since they were able to call me out of the blue last month to tell me I could KEEP my floats, why couldn't they have called me to tell me they were changing ownership & I needed to use them all by a certain date?? Why was that info witheld? The previous owners made this place feel like a luxury experience and made us feel valued even the day we had to cancel & told us they understood, as small business owners usually do. The business we own is a Fitness studio & I've recommended & referred HUNDREDS of student athletes to try this place, as soreness & body aches are so common in our industry & so well alleviated by float therapy. Even after my own membership was paused I can name several people who have spent money there based on my ravings about how great it was. And this is how they thank us. By requiring us to pay for something we already paid for and WERE TOLD without us even asking, (again, a proactive unprompted phone call on their part) that we got to keep. Bad form. Bad business. Floating in a pod, total darkness, water that isn't too hot or cold or even warm? Said water is also so full of Epsom salt you float with absolutely no effort? Is that my heart beat I hear and I'm literally left to my own thoughts? Sign me up! I'm serious...sign me up for a membership cause I'm sold! The lowdown of floating, this is a part of sensory deprivation therapy (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy). From True REST's site: "Float therapy is a powerful tool for wellness, relaxation, pain relief and better sleep. As with any therapy, with regular use its benefits are enhanced. Stress, tension and pain have formed over time and will take some time to experience the greatest relief--luckily, floating is a relaxing, fun,and effortless way to do so!" I bought a Groupon to True REST because the entire concept intrigued me. After booking the appointment, I was filled with excitement up until the day of my appointment where I became filled with nervousness. Not so much about drowning, but will I freak out? Will I get salt in my eye? Will I fart and contaminate the water? I'll answer those later. My husband and I arrived 10 minutes or so prior to our scheduled check-in time (you arrive 30 minutes prior to floating to get a tour). Camille was manning the front desk, got us checked in and lead us on a small tour of the place starting with showing us a video about what we're about to experience. After the video was done, and we sat watching a soothing video of fractal graphics and music, she lead us to a room and showed us how to work the pod and all it's gadgets. I stayed in the room she was showing us (I got the accessible room, hubs got a standard room) and after a short trip to the restroom I showered off, rubbed some petroleum jelly on a scrape I have (which they kindly provide) and gingerly stepped into the pod. To answer my questions, it's no, yes, and no. Thankfully I did not freak out about being in an isolation pod in complete darkness, nor did I fart, but dude, that water is hella salty. They do provide a small spray bottle of fresh water, but by the time that happened I could not find the spray bottle to save my life or the light switch since apparently, I spin while floating, so I had to find my way out of the pod, which is more difficult in complete darkness than one would ever imagine. Eventually, I found my way out to wash out my face since I ended up touching my face making it way worse. After another rinse of my face from the shower, I climbed back in and restarted my float. That experience made me wish the lights were voice activated, but this isn't a sci-fi universe. After awhile, I started to feel as if I was floating in air, it's the strangest but coolest sensation ever. Even when I opened my eyes, I still felt as if I still had them closed. My mind was also racing, no matter how many times I tried counting my breaths to 300. Eventually, I settled on going between having my mind jump around, to dozing off slightly, and everything in between. I will say this, this whole thing made me realize I REALLY need to clear my mind more, AND I need to work on my breathing. Like, I go from breathing like a normal person, to mouth breathing, to actually holding my breath. I am so wound up. After awhile, the 'wake up' music started to play. I turned on the light, opened the pod door and went back to floating for a few more moments. It was a different sensation to float in a darkened room with just the glow of the pod lights. I preferred the dark, but it's worth a try out towards the end since you have 5 minutes before the pod starts it's cleaning process. I forced myself out and stepped back into the shower. The shower is very nice and clean. The water got SUPER hot, so that took a couple of tries. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were are all very nice, I need to ask what brand they use. In fact, the scent is still in my hair from last night. The rainfall shower is interesting, but since I'm incredibly short, I had to blast on the hot water because it cooled by the time it reached me. The fact I was in the accessible shower meant I was able to bring the shower head closer to the top of my head, a luxury I don't have most other places (which totally explains why my showers are always so hot). After a quick towel dry and run with the blow dryer, I made my way into the zen relaxation room. Since it was our first time, they kindly let us try out the oxygen bar at no cost. Never tried that before, so of course, I jumped at the chance. The oxygen bar is scented, so you had a chance to sample the different scents they had attached to the machine. We sat, unwinding while sipping on herbal tea, just enjoying our last moments of bliss before the drive home. I ended up signing up for a membership. I wish they weren't so far away from me, but I hear that they hope to open a location in Elk Grove (YES!!!). Shout out to Camille who made our visit awesome! read more

The place is impeccably clean and the whole experience is very relaxing. It was my first visit, so I was asked to arrive about 30 minutes early to get the forms filled out and watch an introductory video about the floating experience. Once I was in the float room, I took a quick shower and began my float. The actual float is very nice. The water in the float pod is warm, but not too hot. 45 minutes passed by fairly quick, but I still enjoyed it. After the float, I showered off all of the salt water and went to the lounge area and had some tea. There is also an oxygen bar that some people were hooked up to. Body lotions, blow dryers are on site too. You have 5 MINUTES to get showered before your session starts.. You make it work.. . Now it gets real.. You have a 5 minute relaxing intro music to get you relaxed.. In your pod you have a floatation neck pillow that I really liked try it. I liked positioning my arms up above my head, seemed to relieve neck pressure and relax better. Arms felt heavier to my sides. You have your choice of color in your pod as well to accommodate your mood. RELAX now let science do them.. I really did try to force my arms down to see if I could.. lol.. Staring at the Pod for so long or not so long I eventually drifted off to sleep unaware. I was SO relaxed ,you know when your arms or legs twitch.... yup happened 3 X. Now I'm up.. Thinking ... How cool is this.. ! Most relaxing, body experience EVER. You feel SO FLIPPIN GOOD! Like the best treat rest EVER, EVER. Enjoy your hour. Perhaps my husbands experience was an anomaly - but he was not able to relax at all... well - that's not entirely true... the moment he would relax and close his eyes, the clanging/banging of the weight machines from the fitness center next door would come through the walls. When we let the gal know before we left, while a halfhearted 'im sorry' was thrown out, it came hand in hand with a suggestion to book again for a later appointment time. Really? To us that said - "I know your first experience sucked - but hey, come back & spend more money... it *might* be better next time." You're kidding, right? Really disappointing experience for him - and a big disappointment to spend the money & gift this to someone only to know it wasn't enjoyed. read more
