Its funny how people think oh this place is so goood ! Your sesame shrimp or general tao chicken or anything like that are pre fried, left out in the open without refrigeration. It could have been sitting there for 3 days and you place an order. Also, if you order delivery. Sometimes their drivers eat your food. By the time it got to you, there is 5 shrimp left from a 20 dollar order. When I ate here I found detergent in my soup. They were also hair that got caught in the noodles. It was gross. Well this place beats the pants off of their sister store on Fillmore. I came in here to get some takeout. I ordered a order of Mongolian beef , pork potstickers and a sweet and sour pork with a box of brown rice. So I sat inside and watched some FIFA while I waited. The place is cozy and a nice dark red walls very clean looking. The server did his best to please brought the food fairly quickly. The prices are normal for the times . The big surprise was to me they really gave a lot of food in the sweet and sour and the beef also . It was quite tasty. Definitely going back I originally came in because I had a feeling for wonton soup . I had heard awhile ago from someone who knows that theirs is very good but I changed my mind . They are located across the street from Andronicos market on Clement and 32 Avenue. They have a flyer that says they have a 2 dollar delivery charge but I haven't tried that yet. Our dinner of the trip became a bit impromptu. The city had rolling blackouts going to repair the grid. When we arrived at the place we planned to have dinner, they were shut down, with no power. As we headed "home", we came across Tsing Tao, an oasis in a blackout, they still had power. We walked in, surprisingly to a quiet and empty restaurant, and they were very eager to welcome us. We quickly placed a massive to go order, for what we expected would feed 15...in the end it probably was enough to feed 25-30! They were very thankful for our giant order and told us it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. We took a seat to wait, and they weren't playing around...they brought out four giant bags of food within 10 minutes, and were on our way. By the time we got back to the house it was getting late and everyone was hungry! We unpacked everything, filling the table and counters with multiple trays of fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, cashew chicken, general tsos chicken, spring rolls, egg drop soup and more than I can remember. It was a feast for a king, and everyone dug in, enjoying an incredibly succulent Chinese meal! Debuting was tasty and hit the spot. Based on their speedy, and friendly service on a stressful evening, I'd absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for delicious Chinese food, and a reasonable price! read more

My brother would always get their lunch specials because the dishes are tasty and a great deal. I was looking for a quick meal and decided to stop by for dinner. Tsing Tao is my favorite Chinese restaurant. I've been ordering from them for over 2 decades and they're practically like family. I love every single dish offered, but I want to say something about their wonton soup. I am in love with this broth, which has a light sesame flavor and the richness of a broth that has been simmered for a long time, with meat, bones, and vegetables, creating a delicious broth with deep complex flavors. It is absolutely delicious and has become my favorite thing to order, although everything on the menu is an absolute taste sensation. The owners and delivery people are incredibly nice and if I ever leave San Francisco, I will really miss them. I highly recommend trying out numerous dishes from Tsing Tao. Great little neighborhood place. Friendly service, very barebones interior with very little sound absorption. One of my favorites here is the prawns with black bean sauce. The eggplant with pork is also tasty. The scrambled eggs with prawns is delicious. The salt & pepper pork chops can be a hit or a miss. Mostly very good but once we got a dish of fried bones. Early on a Sunday evening this place offers just about anything you could wish from a restaurant. Easy parking, a clean venue, and a staff that are incredibly helpful. And the food is first class, abundant, and well priced. Hot and sour soup was served piping hot and the first thing to notice was a large prawn in the middle of the bowl. There was plenty of tofu, chicken, black fungus, vinegar and not too much pepper. Soul warming food. And immense portion of roast pork egg fu young came next. Egg fu young, properly prepared is hard to find is San Francisco, but Tzing Tao does and admirable job and there was leftover for dinner the next evening. Wait time for a piping hot meal of your choice is minimal and a complimentary cup of soup and hot tea is always given as soon as you sit down. The food is consistently delicious, well-prepared, and service, both in-house and take-out (I call them, they deliver - I don't like to use delivery services), is excellent. I have mobility issues, and if I call ahead, staff will bring my order to my car and accept payment without having to give them a card (as I've said, I've been going there for a long time, so I'm in their data base). OK.. I think the last time I ate these dishes from Tsing Tao was about 40 years ago during high school... yeah, I am that old. Ordered online for pickup. Funny thing about ordering online at the check out page "cash" is the only option. When you show up, you can then pay with your card. The pickup process was quick so thats a plus. In order of worst to best: Tomato Beef Chow Mein- the noodles were a bit mushy. The flavor is bit lacking... cannot taste the "tang" that I was expecting from the tomato. The beef to noodle ratio is good though. Scrambled egg with Beef over rice- pretty cannot really mess this dish up. The eggs were not over cooked. The beef was tender and flavorful. It comes with a side of oyster sauce. Beef Chow Fun- best of the 3 dishes ordered. Good flavor. Good ratio of beef to noodle. There was a good amount of Shanghai Bok Choy. read more

Food: noodles were a premium with three ingredients: barely a piece or two of each included in a large amount of noodles. Beef with mushrooms and bamboo shoots was a large period and was flavorful. Walnut chicken was a bit skimpy compared and a white sauce was interns le and almost frightening. Flavor and texture were good. Service: it was an app purchase for pickup: everything was prepared and ready for pickup as expected. I try this place every so often for as long as they have existed. I feel it is representative of American Chinese cuisine intended for a non-Chinese market. The model has been around for decades! And so has this bastion at the end of nowhere... I always feel treated well by the staff. I sense they are very busy as their convenient location is preferred. Across for two giant retailers, CVS and Andronico's could by be better anchors. My family and I come here multiple times a week. The lunch specials are a great value for the quality and quantity of food. We love the salt and pepper wings, salt and pepper prawns, dry fried string beans, Kung Pao and Chow Mein. Tsing Tao is one of my go to spots for ordering takeout, with my usual orders being chicken chow mein and hot and sour soup. The portions are always enormous so they last me both lunch and dinner and are always consistent in quality and quantity. The chicken chow mein has thick noodles with some bok choy and chicken breast marinated in a soy glaze sauce which is sweet and tangy, and the hot and sour soup is the perfect consistency of thick but not gloopy. Every time we volunteer at the Legion of Honor, we enjoy a lunch together at Tsing Tao. We lunch and order takeout for home... beef chow fun dry, honey walnut prawns, and salt and pepper pork chop are solid choices. Bittermelon in black bean sauce, eggplant in garlic sauce, sautéed spinach, Chinese greens with oyster sauce are our standard favorites, too. Tsing Tao always pleases...it's always delicious...service is always friendly. This has been our lunch destination for many years as we'll continue to explore the menu together. read more

This place is a lifesaver that turned into a go-to eatery. Even though I've moved out of this side of the city, I still go to Star East Hair Salon on Clement. Surprisingly lots of businesses nearby are cash-only and I'd forgotten to bring any. Fortunately in my hunger for lunch, I discovered that Tsing Tao takes credit card. It's always empty when I walk in. Everyone seems to be ordering take-out. Then again I visit in the middle of the day, so it might just be busy for dinner. Once I'm seated, I make a quick decision on what I want to eat. In the meantime, a waitress serves me hot tea. I've been here twice. The first time I had Kung Pao chicken with rice. The second time I got won ton soup. Both times were a solid 3 stars. Fast, filling, and inexpensive. Though I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at Tsing Tao, I'll come back every time I'm getting my hair done. I hope they get enough business to stay open because it's a nice Chinese restaurant. Usually I open my laptop while eating to get some work done, until the end of my meal which is marked by an orange slice and fortune cookie. In many ways, it feels like home. read more
