Recently moved to Cbus area and Tucci's came highly recommended to us. Came without a reservation but was seated right away (was during the week). Nice, cozy atmosphere and unpretentious ambiance. Started with the crab cakes and it was phenomenal! Not too rich like some tend to be. Halibut was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Hubby had the steak and he was quite pleased with it. We capped our meal with tiramisu and crème brûlée. Yum yum and more yum. Great service, great food! Found ourselves a winner! read more

My family and I went to Tucci's for Father's Day. Before we choose Tucci's, I did some research on local restaurants to see what options we had. Being that I was from out of town visiting family, this restaurant seemed good and had a 4/5 Star rating. I regret taking my family there as the food was over priced and extremely underwhelming. Our server, Jake was great and did the best he could to help navigate the challenges we had with our dinner. I order the NY Strip, with a side of spinach, mushrooms, and shrimp. The steak was black (burnt) and with every bite it got worse. The spinach had so much oil on it to the point where you could only taste the oil and not the spinach. My mom got the Scallops, bad choice, fishy and over cooked. They only items that were good and weren't over cooked were the special, which was a Sea Bass, and the margarita pizza. I've heard so many positives about Tucci's for years from my colleagues. Finally had the opportunity to try them out. Tucci's did not disappoint. Wine list is extensive and the server had very good knowledge of the wines we asked about. The entree of filet and scallops were prepared perfectly and were delicious. We ate inside but the patio is very nice and they had a very good duo performing for the guests. There are so many classy places that can provide great food, but it is a rare day when you find a quality restaurant that combines that great food with a great experience. Tucci's in Dublin not only does that, but does so in the face of Covid, riots, and other world troubles. Particularly, Jessica (dark curly hair for days) makes my wife and I feel like we are in a happy bubble, providing top notch service as well as friendly conversation that lead to us asking for her every time we dine here. I was a disappointed in my visit to Tucci's. VERY mediocre for the price. I didn't really love anything that I had (house salad, miso glazed salmon, cannoli). It was just okay. Our server was really sweet, but at the end of our meal, they told us they had other people waiting. After we paid, they started pre-bussing the table and reminded us again that people were waiting. We had been there for under 2 hours. While I understand needing to turn the table, I felt irritated being rushed out of the restaurant when I had just spent a good deal of money. On our way out, we got confused about where the exit was. I asked the hostess where the exit was and she replied, " the same way you entered." The audacity! I personally wouldn't return. I really was looking forward to this and it did not impress. There are so many great restaurants in this area (J Liu, The Pearl, The Avenue, Oscar's, Mezza). I would skip this one! read more

We spent the evening in their outdoor dining area. It was wonderful. We loved the atmosphere and the food I had soup and a salad. Their Potato soup was great but what was amazing was their hummus. Service was great, food was horrible. Everything lacked flavor except for the calamari fries. Steak (Oscar style as recommended) was very bland and unimpressive. Chicken Parmesan would taste better if it were thrown together at home; couldn't even compare to others I've had in the area. The salad and truffle fries were just a waste. Not to mention we waited an hour and a half for the food. With the quality that was presented to us I don't know what could have taken so long. I was in town on business and was suggested I give it a shot by the folks at the Dublin tavern just up the street. I was pleasantly surprised. I asked to sit outside as they had an outdoor guitar player playing a little something soft that I thought went well with the ambiance of the outdoor setting. I ordered a glass of Cabernet and ordered a spicy rigatoni pasta with peppers. The waitresses were super nice to me, I think because they felt bad I was there alone but I was enjoying my dinner nonetheless. Yesterday, we had a dinner there. We liked northing there. Firstly, we were disappointed that all tables are very close to each other, so you don't have privacy at all. You feel like people next to you are sitting at your table rather than at seperate table. For me, it was even hard to get seat at our table because of a small distance between tables. I think my glutes were right in front of people's faces at the next table when I was trying to get seat at ours. This happened to me who is fit and tiny, and my weight is only 130 lb. We couln't talk about some our private questions like we always do during the dinner because of small distance. We were forced to listen to stupid conversation of other people at the next table, again, because of small distance. Regarding the food, we had pastas, and it were not good. But I really liked a cheese board, it looked fancy. Service is below average too. We couldn't catch our waitress when it was needed. She was gone immediately when she brought wine and apitaizer for us, so we were forced to make an effort to get her attention to order a main course. Came for brunch on a Sunday in the early fall. The patio was beautiful, one of the best in ohio I'm sure. Well spaced, never felt crowded. We came somewhat early, about 11am and the place was nearly empty. I made a reservation but I imagine it would have been easy to just walk in without one. The food was not particularly memorable, it was good but somewhat standard fare. The drinks though were what set it apart. Best bloody mary I've ever had. I don't often drink, but I enjoyed it so much I ordered two of the pickle bloody mary's. Everyone at my table enjoyed their drinks too. Very good service! Went on a Saturday had reservations set for 8pm through OpenTable. Overall a really good experience. We had a table for two, my wife and me. We ordered NY strip, 6oz filet for our steaks. The whipped smashed potatoes, mac-b-cheese with pork belly and the spinach. Plus a beer and wine. Maybe a silly issue on my part is this: if I set reservations for dinner I should not be given a tiny booth table in the bar area. The steaks were prepared absolutely flawlessly. Very very good. The potatoes I could have done with out; very average. The spinach and mac-n-cheese were very good but the shinning stars of the meal, as should be, were the steaks. I know this place is known for their wine but seriously get a halfway okay beer menu. What they have now is at most family dinner chain restaurants. All said in done though even with the theee small annoyances this was a really good meal and I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a slightly up scale meal on the northwest side of Columbus. read more

Tucci's is a the type of restaurant that is far more about atmosphere and style than actual substance. So if you want to have a classy dinner in a well-to-do Columbus suburb, this is the place for you. If you actually know a thing about Italian food and Italian food that is done WELL, well then, Tucci's is not the place. I think many entrepreneurs just loosely throw on the "Italian cuisine" moniker as a marketing device. Why do I say this? Well, for one, this is one of several "Italian" restaurants I've been to that serves tapas. "Tapas?" you say, "I thought those are a popular part of Spanish restaurants! I didn't know that Italian cuisine utilized this style of eating as well." Well, dear friend, this is because TAPAS ARE NOT ITALIAN. You should not be going into an Italian restaurant and be handed a menu that mainly consists of a list of hot and cold small plates. Restaurants do this because it is trendy and it makes people feel refined and cultured, despite the nagging issue of cultural accuracy. Italian food should be served in large portions and shared. When I order a lamb chop for my main dish, I don't want one tiny little chop. Even with my appetite, I should be full after eating at an Italian joint. I hardly remember what dishes were ordered at this meal, mostly because for the price tag the were extremely lackluster. The only other detail I haven't blocked out my memory is the risotto that came along with one of the dishes. It was terrible. I'm not as much of a food snob as I must sound in this entry, but when you are paying a decent amount for some food it should be cooked properly. I'm not saying it had to be exceptional, but risotto is meant to be soft, creamy and hearty. This risotto was undercooked and offensively crunchy. If Tucci's spent more time on making its food taste sweet instead of creating an atmosphere to attract misinformed suburbanites, it would actually deserve a decent rating. read more

My husband and I ventured to Tucci's on one child-free, winter night to hang out with friends from his work. At first glance, the restaurant seems small, or maybe it seemed that way since it was completely packed with people....on a weeknight. I quickly took a mental note of the large outdoor patio that looks like it would make for a nice outing for a Summer night. Overall the atmosphere is great - dark and relaxing - and romantic if the occasion commands. However, for someone like me who hardly gets away from the demands of a child going through the terrible twos - this is what I would call a "grownup night on the town." Especially after seeing the martini menu. I'm not much for fruity or strong drinks - much more of a beer girl... And then I was introduced to the "Flirtini" - a pink little glass of girlie heaven...after about five of these reasonable priced martinis...I was feeling pretty good and ready for dinner. Not being extremely hungry, I had ordered the Beef Carpaccio and small salad - all which were beautifully presented and very delicious. To end the night - of course I had to try the ultimate chocolate martini - which was awesome! Side Note: We dined with about 14 people from my husband's work, so I would recommend this establishment for small office dinners. *One of our friends is a highly reputable culinary expert and was very impressed with the wine list. *Parking was an issue - not sure if that is a regular issue or just because of another event that night. *The bar can get somewhat loud if dining later in the evening. read more

Confession: I was not expecting to like Tucci's as much as I did. I'm not a huge fan of Matt the Miller's (with associated ownership), and I was a little wary of words like "California Bistro" out in the suburbs. To my pleasant surprise, the meal was fantastic! I had the mussels as an appetizer... I would take a bath in that broth. My walleye entree was delicious with a sticky rice and shrimp civiche... the perfect fusion dish. The only unbalanced element was the too-big plantain crisps on one end, but easy to work around. I imbibed with two adult beverages. The strawberry/basil/balsamic martini with Watershed vodka tasted fresh and garden-y, not syrupy sweet. The tessora limone pour for dessert was great. I love to see Columbus' local spirits being represented in restaurants around town. The dessert list didn't thrill me, but then again I'm not much of a dessert person. It seemed a little too pedestrian with oreo crusts and sundaes. As for the atmosphere, again I was surprised. You'll forget you are in Dublin. The patio was absolutely gorgeous at night with string lights, plenty of room, and inventive plantings. Inside, simple luxury everywhere with little details like glass tiling. I would highly recommend a reservation made a few days in advance if you plan to go on a weekend. When trying to make a reservation earlier in the day, only a 9:30 spot was available on a Saturday. I was surprised to see the joint bustling at 9:30-- we didn't feel rushed through our meal at all. The kitchen closes at 11. Service was a little slow and could have been more attentive. It took a long time to get more bread to sop up that incredible broth, and I don't feel like our waitress really paid much attention to drinks and timing. On the back of your menu, you'll find more information about events and such. The emerald room looks like a great space to book for a special occasion dinner (a semi-private room lined with wine bottles). And Sundays are retail wine night! Parking isn't bad with a common lot out around back. It's easier than parking in German Village or the Short North, without the crowds of Easton. But, you'll still get unique flavors in an upscale setting. EDIT: I forgot to mention the strangely grammatically incorrect dessert menu. Someone needs to teach Tucci's about possessive versus plural use of "s". Dessert's! Dessert's what? A singular dessert possessing... chocolaty goodness? Our dining experience was amazing. Let's start there. My husband and stepdaughter and I had planned a trip to Schmidt's for an early dinner. And I will sheepishly admit that we were dressed appropriately. However, because there as an hour wait, we opted for something a little closer to home. We tried the usual casual places, all of which were a long wait. Finally, I remembered Tucci's. Now, in my defense, I hadn't dined there in quite some time. But I remembered that the pizzas were good and that they had an extensive wine selection. So, we wandered in. Despite our "buffet-casual" attire and no reservation, we were promptly seated. Not once were we treated as being "out of place", and we were very pleased with the service. Our server explained the wine serving options very carefully, and steered me to a wine that I was considering (but wouldn't have tried without a nudge). I can honestly say that it was the perfect accompaniment to my meal. It's clear that their servers have a passion for their job, and that the restaurant takes the time to train them well. We started with the hummus small plate. My husband muttered under his breath, "let's see if they're serious ... I'll taste that before I consider blowing a c-note on dinner here." Well, needless to say, we ate our words. From a place that professes to be "Italian" (they did have some pasta on the menu), that was hands-down the best hummus I've ever had. The chili oil and the fresh cucumbers were a great addition, and the chickpeas were blended perfectly smooth. I ordered the filet (as it was served with a potato and parsnip side dish, and I love parsnips), my husband had the king salmon (served with an amazing cous cous side dish), and my stepdaughter enjoyed the goat cheese and fig pizza. Our bill, after all items ordered, was close to $100. I thought nothing of paying it, as it was the best meal we've had in recent memory. We'll definitely be back ... we discussed on the way home that we'd like to make a night out of ordering several small plates and dining on the patio there this summer. My only complaint about Tucci's is that it got quite loud in the main dining room, in a hurry. If you're looking for a very romantic and secluded meal ... this isn't it. First time... We met dear friends for dinner last evening at Tucci's. It was our first visit and frankly I had very high expectations going in, because it is owned by the same group that owns Matt the Miller's in Grandview of which I am a big fan. I'm going to divide this into three categories for the review, something new for me: - Atmosphere - Food - Service Atmosphere Visually the atmosphere was very nice. Since it was the first time we had gone I looked it up on Yelp and attire was referred to as "dressy" but I found it much more on the side of casual. The single biggest issue regarding the atmosphere is the only real complaint I have about Matt the Miller's which is how loud the place is. The ambient noise level is really excessive. It is important to point out that we ate inside and not on the patio. Food The house salad wad very good and the deconstructed Caesar was great. Since it was restaurant week they had a special menu available featuring Sesame Walleye which is also a menu standard. Three people had it at the table and all thought it was absolutely wonderful. The fourth person had the Ahi Tuna which was reported to be overly salty. The creme brulee was very good. Service This was definitely the weak point of the night, and who knows we may have had someone new. That being said there were issues which I found unusual because the wait staff at Matt's in Grandview is so very well trained. First we really didn't see our server as much as we'd like, but it was busy. However there are a few things that were not well handled. Our server took drink orders from four of us one at a time which is the natural order of things except he took one order and then filled it before he took the next: that may be a first. The second issue was that he cleared the wine glasses before asking if were were interested in any wine. He was cordial enough and did come back to the table to see if everything was alright with our entree's but it seems more like the result of a timer going off than of genuine interest. In Summary We will definitely go back and try Tucci's again. It will be worth it to see how it goes the second time and it may have been just a crazy busy night. The food was good, the service was weak but overall we had a good time. As a foot note, I do hope the ownership group starts to consider some sort of acoustic treatment for their establishments. read more

Definitely the best restaurant in the area. The food is spectacular. Always go with the chefs special. I also had the filet with bacon jam, Gorgonzola crumbles, and sautéed mushrooms. It was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The only thing comparable to the heavenly food was the incredible front of the house team. I was looking for an excuse to head to Dublin and decided to hit Tucci's for lunch. It was a beautiful day and so we sat outside on their huge patio. The waiter was quick, professional, and reasonably attentive. My lunchbuddy had the salad with chicken, which was reported to be very good and a nice sized portion. I am a sucker for freshwater fish and ordered the blackened walleye sandwich. The sandwich was nice. Big and somewhat sloppy, which is to be expected for that kind of fare. The seasoning on the walleye was restrained. Sometimes blackened means peppered and charred, but the fillet was lightly cooked, not decimated. For dessert, I tried their pineapple orange sorbet which was very nice, and helped quell the walleye breath. It looked like they had a nice happy hour and lots of music at night. Great vibe and a knowledge, well trained staff. Foodman rolled into Tucci's for a steak after the final round of The Memorial golf tournament. Things were going full tilt so the manager got us some vodkas while our waiter got caught up. My friend thought I kept saying Two Cheeses and we were going for pizza! We had a few appetizers and then salads with really fresh and crisp lettuce and veggies. The wine list is good and we had a 2012 Napa Cab rated 96 on Wine Spectator AND it was on sale. Tucci's California Bistro occupies a fine little dining nook on High Street in Old Dublin. The location has always been one where as I'm driving by, sometimes on my way to the office, I catch a quick glimpse and think, "How cute". I was happy to have a biz-dinner there and find out if cute equates to deelish. Yes! It does. Right to the menu/entree. I played it safe (yes - Catherine J. YELP - thank you) by ordering the sesame walleye with jasmine rice and shrimp ceviche. The tastes were excellent and, bonus, the entire meal came out near steaming hot. I don't know about you, the reader, but there is something to be said about cooked food actually arriving at the table hot. Others ordered entrees Ahi Tuna (the presentation and Oos and Aah meant Mikey Likey), Shrimp and Torchio (which got high marks), Halibut (another hit) and finally Vegetarian Pasta. This last one was ordered by a nutrician-savvy gent who lives & dies by tennis. He went nuts over the taste! So all good. Prior to the entrees the group had salads and a serving of hummus and pita. The hummus was spicey and the plate had ample portions (served 3 comfortably). Some at the table enjoyed a house white wine which sufficed. "Yours truly" kept beverage service to one ice tea and some H2O. Hey! It was a school night. The atmosphere was a little tight for my liking. Tucci's meets most bistro standards which, for me, means a little bit of community and closeness. The outdoor patio looks like a great place for a romantic dinner.... or a nice lunch during a less-than-hot summer day. Probably early spring or early fall would be terrific. Parking. Arrgh! Dinner was at 8PM and parking in Old Dublin can be a little challenging. I found spots behind the Starbucks across the street so what's a little walk between friends before dinner. I was surprised that I had never been here before, but my husband and I finally went last night. I really enjoyed it, and so did my husband. Good wine, delicious food, and good service. We sat inside and it was very romantic. I had the chef make a special surf & turf with fillet and scallops. It was delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly as was the meat. My husband had the Ribeye which he really liked too. I am knocking off one star due to the fact that they seem to serve quite a bit of fish that is endangered or not sustainable. I know most people don't care, but my husband and I do. I really think that the chef should pay more attention to this too. However, we can choose things off of the menu we like and that are sustainable etc. So, we will be back for those items. read more

Today was my first time at Tucci's, despite working nearby for several years. I definitely regret not trying it sooner. For lunch I had the BLT (minus aioli) and was impressed with the quality of the ingredients. You can tell the bread was fresh and the bacon cooked perfectly. They have a great private wine room for larger parties looking for a separate area. Really excited to take my wife here for lunch given such positive reviews. Don't want to be too critical but I was not impressed. The pot roast hash at Bob Evans is far superior to the $18 special I ordered. Not well seasoned, eggs weren't cooked well. My wife's Belgian waffle wasn't exactly stellar either. The maple bacon was delicious. Staff was decent but not particularly friendly. Given how expensive the place is I expected a lot better and left quite underwhelmed. Update: I was contacted by management who apologized for my less than stellar experience. That's good enough for me to give Tucci's another shot. Tucci's was a suggestion from a local. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Columbus is relatively barren for foodies. Had the wild mushroom ravioli in a spicy marsala sauce topped with sirloin tips. Sauce had that depth that comes with a great wine based sauce. I'd say skip the sirloin tips they were nicely spiced but far too grissily. Had the grilled scallops appetizer as well. Very nice carmelization but the scallops lacked the sweetness of something memorable. Lots of time scallops aren't truly scallops but ray or skate filed to look like scallop.
