I called around Riverview tire shops to get my back tire looked at because it had a slow leak. The front desk attendant said it would be about 45 minutes wait. It took only 25 minutes for Alex to come out and tell me that I ran over a small screw and it was easily repaired. Alex told me it was no charge. I've taken my SUV to this Tuffy location several times for oil changes and the service has been fairly standard. The two most recent visits have been subpar and very disappointing. The most recent visit was for a routine oil change. My SUV comes with a factory installed skid plate which covers the engine bay and has never been a problem with oil changes. It requires removing 4 bolts and that's it. I dropped my truck off for the oil change and came back an hour later. Nobody from Tuffy advised that they had any problems, I paid and was on my way. A few days later I started noticed some rattling from under the truck and saw that one of the 4 skid plate bolts was sticking out about a half inch. I tried tightening with a ratchet and it just free spun. I was able to remove the other 3 bolts but the 4th was stuck. I had to use a Dremel to cut off the head of the bolt to remove the skid plate. After further inspection the Tuffy employee that removed the skid plate over tightened the bolt and broke off the nut that is welded to the frame. Now my skid plate is only held on by 75% of the correct amount of fasteners. The employee that put the skid plate on would have known that the bolt was broken when they were installing it and it never got tight. I understand that accidents happen but to conceal the issue and not tell me upfront is not acceptable. read more

Price gouged! Online quote for 2016 Jeep Renegade syn oil change $57.20 (see pic). Husband took in and was charged $89.99! Then add on $4 for extra half quart and all other fees = $104!! I called 2x to get a better understanding. Employee was extremely rude during my second call. Loud, snarky, and told me she had two other callers to handle. I asked her if she wanted a screen shot of their pricing and she said no. Also, I told her they did not top off fluids because the windshield tank was half empty and she said she personally watched it being done? How convenient. She said it was my husband's fault for signing the work order and not questioning the pricing. Marked up over $31?! 4:10 pm on a Saturday and I get a second low pressure warning on my 2022 Acadia - tried several places but they were closed or getting ready to close. Dispute the lack luster reviews, I called Tuffy out of desperation to see if they could squeeze me in before they closed. The phone was picked up before the third ring and a Gentleman Named Christian answered the phone. He had great phone etiquette and told me to bring the vehicle in and they would look at it. I pull in at 4:30 and was met in the parking lot by the service tech & the mechanic. They were very professional, diagnosed its issue quickly (big screw in the tread) and had my vehicle in the shop before I got inside to the front counter. Christian did the paperwork & I gladly paid the $33.22 to have my tie patched. Start to Finish, I was out the door in 20 min. The only evidence anyone worked on my car was the lug key set nicely in my cup holder . And, of course no more low pressure warning. I am very happy with the whole experience - they were more concerned with helping me than closing the shop on time. would not let me review the final invoice prior to paying. The manager said he had to have payment first before I could review the invoice. I was there for five hours. They never checked my brakes or air conditioner which they said they were going to do. They lie, poor communication, and very defensive when you ask questions.. they overcharged. this company is owned by Mavis tires. It is a very low class unprofessional company. Yet another place that scams women. I'm finding I need to stick with the "mom and pop" places to trust any car places. I went in there with a coupon...they said they couldn't use it. They didn't give an explanation but said that they "can still give me a great deal". Well, I left there spending about 10 times as much as the coupon and had to do it on their "credit" so I won't get charged interest for the large amount. I'll never ever go there again. There's a reason this place has received nothing more that 1-star reviews. This place sucks. I was in town staying with friends and noticed we had a flat when we were packing up to go back home. In Miami, I would've just gone to El Mago de los Ponches and had the problem fixed in 10 minutes for about $15. Now, although I understand that it's not Miami, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that a "Tire Service Center" anywhere in the country should tell me that a patch will cost $40 and (now, here's the real kicker) will take around 4 hours to complete. Wait. What?!? So I ended up getting a fix-a-flat (which I do not recommend) and made it home to my bed [without incident] in less time than they wanted me to wait for a patch. read more

On a road trip from home in SW Florida to take our youngest to college in NC, when our AC stopped working in 97 degree weather. Luckily found this place within15 minutes and they got us right in. The manager Chris was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable and quickly discovered the problem (which should've been checked at the pre-trip checkup earlier this week at another Tuffy shop in our hometown). Either it's another errand to run and you'd rather be enjoying your day off or something unexpected came up and this isn't money you had planned on spending. Yesterday's general routine service (oil change) would have been five stars, golden trophy, high five. I was in and out in 25 minutes. Admittedly, I also went in at 7:45am on a weekday. It isn't that quick after 10am on the weekends due to higher demand, so I typically go over to Village Inn and eat lunch. They usually have my car ready within the hour in that case. Based off of my visit there today, I'd give them five stars for service, two stars for the general situation, and zero stars for my general mood because car problems SUCK. STAY FAR AWAY - TUFFY IS THE BIGGEST SCAM, DO NOT GO THERE!!! Shoddy work and a rude, disrespectful staff. If I could leave a negative star rating, I would! First off let me say if you need any parts replaced be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for something that was refurbished incorrectly and will malfunction as soon as you leave the parking lot. Additionally the staff will talk trash about you while you're in the waiting room but at least they're nice enough to do so loud enough so you can hear. Also make sure you bring your car cleaning supplies because they'll leave dirty, greasy hand prints ALL over the interior and exterior of your car. My car needed it's alternator replaced which should have cost at most with parts + labor $400 and that's being generous. They charged me $350 for the part (which malfunctioned as soon as I left the parking lot), another $150 to install it, $150 for a battery (I more than likely didn't need), and $30 to install the battery, plus $20 just to look at my car when I told them what was wrong. But me being a female, what do I know about cars?? When I mentioned that the price was a little outrageous they laughed and kept saying I should call around for quotes. Well I did and 3 LOCALLY owned and operated shops all quoted me $350... HALF OF WHAT I PAID AT TUFFY'S. So I've now paid them $700 for a faulty part that is causing the battery light to go off intermittently while I'm driving. I called the store that was much closer to where I live but was told 'even though it's a national warranty if the stores are within 50 miles of each other you have to go back to the original location'. So the only option I had was to return to the scene of the crime and be forced to face the disrespectful staff one more time... No thank you. I complained to the corporate office which was also a waste of time because all they did was have the 'Partial Owner' of the franchise call me back. The best he could do was call and schedule me to go to the location closer to my house. Shame on me for being in a pinch and expecting to be taken care of. Save yourself and DON'T make the same mistake I did. Support your local businesses, these corporate franchises are only out for themselves... just look at the number of 1 star ratings. read more

Had gone here before and had good service or so we thought. Returned today with a flat in one of their tires. Less than a year later their prices went from $368.13 for TWO tires plus alignment to $251.40 for ONE tire. I was confused and upset that our tires 2 ¼ yrs old were in need of replacement already. The very condescending employee behind the desk proceeds to point out that it's MY fault for not purchasing the EXTRA road hazard option, which the manager agreed would not have made any difference to my current situation. Then he tells me it's my fault for not having the tires rotated, however 9 months ago they placed two new tires on and didn't rotate them NOR suggest they needed to be. Again the manager clarified it would not have avoided my current situation. Honestly despite the fact I was furious and shocked that I spent so much money there and needed replacing so soon, the MANAGER was very respectful and appropriate. However the employee behind the desk continued to run his mouth after the manager left telling me I should be grateful that I received 6000 xtra miles out of that tire, to which I replied I'm not interested in arguing with you and he said, it's not an argument it's a fact. To which I challenged him to openly discuss the facts of what brought me to this situation. That little obnoxious boy behind the counter needs to learn about business. So I leave and go directly to TIRE CHOICE down the road (a place that actually has great reviews). 1. First and foremost, he looked at the tire and told us it popped bc it had a piece of glass in it. Took me out and showed the glass to me - TUFF tires told me there was a nail in the tire. 2. I asked he look at all my tires and he also told me I needed two new back tires (the same thing TUFF tires told me) however, what he SHOWED me is that my tires were exceedingly worn because the alignment was off. Alignments are supposed to be guaranteed for ONE year. Guess who did the alignment 9 months ago?? TUFF TIRES who doesn't guarantee anything.So the truth was their work was substandard causing me to require new tires. 3. At the TIRE CHOICE tire road hazard is INCLUDED with the purchase of each tire! Nothing extra like TUFF tires. 4. At the TIRE CHOICE I received TWO HIGH QUALITY BRAND NEW tires Nitrogen filled (WARRANTIED), synthetic oil change, free future rotations, air filter, for a grand total of $421.00 - only $170.00 more than TUFF wanted for ONE flipping tire. I tried to stay loyal believing that all these reviews couldn't be right. I was wrong. DO NOT TRUST this business. I've learned the hard way. read more

This has to be one of the worst places in the southern-end of Riverview to get your vehicle serviced. I know for a fact they scammed my wife and took advantage of her lack of vehicle expertise, charging her $$$$$$ for unnecessary work. She'll never service her vehicle there ever again. I've only gotten an oil change there before, yet they never call you to let you know your vehicle is ready to be picked up. There are many other better options in the area. Front desk service very good, treat them courteously and they do the same. It now AAA certified. I always use the coupons so good price too. I have never had repair work done there. read more

We were lured in because of the military discount but apparently they don't care if you're military or not, they will still rip you off.. between my car and my husbands car we paid $1700 at tuffy to get things fixed on our cars not far apart from each other and now his car won't start and my car has a check engine light on, it is to my knowledge from other people I have discussed this with that they are switching out bad parts with good parts in your car for the reason that maybe you will have to come back and pay more. Complete rip offs and not honest, the guy at the front desk is really Soft spoken and acts super innocent and seems Kind but it is an act. Do not take or trust your car here. After $1700 of work between two cars we are now having to find another shop to take our cars to, to actually get them fixed or fix the problems they did not have before going into this shop. I give Tuffys no stars because I went there for an oil change they called me out into the bay area told me my oil pan gasket was leaking and needs to be replaced they said the $105 labor plus the parts I said let me see if that's under warranty and it was. I went to Tuffy despite its reviews because my truck was overheating and they were right up the block. I paid $58 for a pressure and block test, as I expected so there was no issue there. They later called to tell me that I had a leak where the lower intake meets the block, and that this would cost me $1725. I paid to have my truck towed to another place that repaired my truck for $500. Now I understand why they usually aren't busy. It's a shame. read more
