I'm passionate about good food and Tukda truly does justice to your Indian maa-ke-haath-ka-khana cravings. And that too in a much sustainable manner. There are ton of Indian restaurants around, but every time I devour the all-time-favorite chicken tikka masala or any other greasy Indian preparations, the happiness is fairly short-lived, and ends the very moment I step out of the restaurant. Remember those sumptuous but sinful gastronomic adventures when you could feel (and hear) all sort of chemical reactions inside your belly and which all of us "most definitely" regret later. That's where Tukda stands out & trumps every other Indian restaurant in & around LA region. This is sort of comfort food you can have 3 times a day (or even 4 for foodies like me), 365 days, without regretting it the slightest bit. It's lip-smacking yummilicious, healthy & much lighter on your body (for those calorie-conscious foodies out there). Vada pav, the so-called Indian burger, is to die for... drooling as I'm typing this review.. burp !! :) If you are catering for a corporate event, or a party or just a friendly get together, I highly recommend ordering from Tukda. And those of you who yearn for healthy home-cooked food, and not-a-fan-of-cooking-everyday, do try their lunchbox service. I am quite shell shocked on how everyone has given 5 stars for the food here. I tasted food from Tukda at my friend's daughter's birthday party. We ordered the below items Paneer masala, Pulao, Potato shots, Rotis Paneer masala - this tasted like a curry made by a person who is learning how to cook. There was no flavor, spices or salt in the dish. Potato shots - this was ok but became soggy. I did like this with the tamarind chutney compared to the others but definitely not the best. There was no green chutney Rotis - these were the thickest rotis i have eaten but I can tolerate them. Pulao - this was the worst. There was absolutely no flavor and it was like eating plain rice. I had mistaken it for lemon rice without salt. We did reach out to the owners and they insisted that we should have added extra salt as needed. Now, why would anyone order food from a caterer if they had the time to taste, add salt and make corrections??? This is not how a business should reply to feedback from customers. Less salt is understandable but no salt is just plain ridiculous. I usually have a wide tolerance when it comes to taste but this was just inedible. It spoiled the whole party. I would strongly suggest people ordering from this place to sample the food first. read more

We agree that you have received lot of good reviews, that doesn't mean that this one time when things went south, the past reviews can be used as excuse. At times things go wrong and we raised the concern to you, the way you guys handled it was too disappointing. Constantly trying to defend that the food had salt when we said (like around 50 of us) said, it had absolutely no salt is just so not right. Why would we out of the blue say something like that, we wanted to have a good party and you need to understand how tough it is when the food disappoints. Also your response that we should HAVE kept a bottle of salt at the party is just so ridiculous. You expecting us to fix the food just before the party is unreasonable. Hope you guys will handle your customers better. read more

This place has really good food. We had a catering order delivered to our company and our whole office loved it so much we are doing a recurring order once a week for our staff. Healthy.Delicious. Home cooked in the truest sense of the word! Tried their food on a trip to LA where they had catered at our friends' house. The vegetarian, as well as non-vegetarian dishes, were simply awesome. The flavors were not at all overwhelming and the use of mix of spices was simply perfect. I had the Chicken Curry, Palak Paneer, and Daal. The rotis were the best part of the meal, especially because good rotis are so difficult to find in the US. Don't expect typical restaurant-style greasy gravies or oily, fried rice or rotis dipped in oil. This is healthy food at its best! Highly recommended! read more

Wonderful, delicious, HOME COOKED food at a very reasonable price! I have been searching for homemade Indian food for a long time and this is IT . Tukda offers a wide variety of foods from several regions of India, and the food tastes very authentic . No heavy oils or creams are added (like Indian restaurants tend to do) and the portion sizes are perfect. I also love the flexibility of this company. You can order one dinner or breakfast or many...you are not locked into a weekly or monthly subscription. This is the most delicious and healthiest Indian food I've had so far in the US. We've tried the following items from Tukda : - Chicken curry: Very good chicken pieces perfectly cooked unlike other Indian restaurants which just put chunks of Chicken breasts having no taste and are also rubbery. The taste of the curry was also yumm :) - Palak Paneer: The paneer pieces were so soft, even after reheating twice and had perfect amount of spices. - Daal: Something as simple as Daal was also was cooked with perfection with an explosion of flavors. - Rotis: apparently they were made by my mom! They couldn't get any more authentic homestyle cooked than that. Can't wait to try everything else from their menu and I'm sure they'll all be as authentic. read more

I'd give 10 stars if could. The food is delicious, not oily, overly hot or overly salty and great flavor. I could taste the rich flavors of authentic Indian cooking. The process of ordering is very convenient as well. The extra five stars go to customer service, Sukhmani is very sweet and responsive, she even followed up on how I liked it. It's way better than restaurant food, I ordered the Chole which were definitely like mom's cooking, paneer tikka which was chockful of soft and pillowy paneer. Definitely the best Vada Pav I have ever had in my life. Make sure to pair it with the sweet sour sauce and spicy powder. The homemade sweet sour sauce is really good and not over-strong at all. Also it made the burger tastes juciy. read more

Very authentic, healthy and delicious Indian home-cooked style option to have. It's different from the food at Indian restaurants that you can only have once in a while because of the amount of oil and spices that go into giving it that flavor. Tukda is my go-to option that I never have to think twice about, health-wise and can have it on a daily basis! This is probably the only tiffin service that gave me authentic Vada Pav (with red chutney), home made authentic dal and wheat roti (phulka). Now, I get lunch boxes from Tukda everyday and the taste of the food is just amazing!!!! The quantity is very good too! My favorites are the Vadas Pav, Bun Tikki, Dal Makhni, Pav Bhaaji, Aloo ki Sabzi, eggplant sabzi and the list goes on. It is healthy and so so tasty because it is home cooked. Tukda food is quite different than any other Indian restaurant near you. The food was on a whole new experience compare to all the Indian food I have tried before. Food is authentic and deliciously tangy and spicy. The every dish that I ordered tasted like it was made from scratch, fresh, and homemade. My daughter who had never tried Indian food before loves the food from Tukda. Her favorite dish is north Indian style chicken and black bean soup. The chicken is fresh, tender and tasted. I love all kinds of bean soup from Tukda specially with the homemade minty cilantro spicy sauce. We have enjoyed every bit of taste of each food. Everything was good and top quality. You will be so satisfied and wanting to share culture and food to others once you try Tukda whether are used to Indian food or not. read more
